Ginny Weasley, a third year waited anxiously for her teacher's arrival. Professor Moody had informed them that there would be a practical lesson today.
Thankfully, she didn't have to wait for long.
"Follow me.", he said then walked outside again.
She trailed behind him along with her classmates.
He took them to a classroom that was empty and only a wardrobe was present. It was moving slight as if something was inside. Maybe it was an animal.
"We'll deal with Boggarts today!", he barked. "Who knows what they are?"
One of her dorm mates, Patience Smith, raised her hand.
"They show us our biggest fear."
"Good.", he said gruffly. "The only way to stop a Boggart is laughter and say Riddikulus."
Right now, she didn't appreciate the fact that Professor Moody explained less and made them do more.
She watched one by one as all her class mates confronted the boggart.
Finally, she found herself in front of a hairless cat with no eye balls. There was a 'crack' and the cat turned into a diary that landed with a thump.
It was black and the initials 'T.M Riddle' were in gold. She took a step back when the diary opened to a random page. It was filled with soft glow and a figure shimmered into view. His cold haunted black eyes looked at her, his Slytherin robes put on smartly, his hair neatly combed.
"Ginevra.", he said softly. "Oh Ginevra, I've missed you, haven't you missed me?"
She shook her head vehemently.
He let out a cold, chilling laugh that made her hair stand on end.
"Still so stubborn.", he whispered. "Just like before, my love."
She flinched at the words.
"No, I hate you!", she snapped at him.
He smirked and picked up the diary laying on the floor. He opened it to a page and read.
"Dear Tom, I hate my brothers. They chose their friends over me. Only you can understand me Tom. I love you."
She took s deep shuddering breath and spoke back.
"Dear Ginevra, I know the feeling. The children from my orphanage called me a freak. I hate that I can't spend my summer holidays at Hogwarts. You know me better than all others. I love you."
"See.", he said triumphantly. "You remember me. Us."
"Of course I do!", she spat. "Why wouldn't I, after what you did to me."
She didn't notice the whispers behind her.
"Oh dear Ginevra.", he walked forward. "I know you miss me. You remember me everyday. Soon, I'll come back and I'll treat you like a queen. You should be honored that Lord Voldemort loves you."
She heard gasps behind her and she shook her head.
"I hate you Tom."
She lunged forward and punched him right on the jaw.
He stumbled but recovered quickly and as he stepped forward, she leveled her want towards him.
"Riddikulus!"
He opened his mouth but only ink poured out of it. He melted into a puddle along with the diary.
Without a glance at anyone, she turned on her heels and darted away, her jaw clenched.
She reached her dorms quickly enough. Only then, did she let the tears fall down her pale cheeks.
The story had spread quickly and the best gossip was about her this week. But there was a conflict. Part of her was glad that her brothers didn't pester her. Part of her noticed that they didn't come to comfort her.
