Hello everyone. So as you might have noticed, I released two chapters for both endings. This ending is called Path of Blood. As you read it, you will see why.

I will explain in details about two bad endings I had originally in the A/N and more details of this particular ending. The next chapter will contain more notes on the second ending and more details what was I going through writing it.

So without further ado, let's do this.

Disclaimer: I don't own Danmachi nor the characters

Final Chapter: Path of Blood

Both Bell and Alfia looked shocked at the revelation.

Alfia then looked carefully and saw the semblance on Meteria. Instead of the long hair she had, it was short, the face features did look similar, except a slight sharper look. It's those red eyes….those red eyes of that coward. She should have seen it. She should have known better.

Bell felt disgusted with himself. How could he do this to himself? How could he love someone like his own kinship in that way? Was it his lust?

"Alfia...you're my aunt….we just dated…." was all Bell could say.

Hermes looked at both of them as they looked pale. He heard what the white haired teen said and realized the implication of it all. He saw shame on both of them.

Bell turned and tried to run, only to get tackled by Cassandra and Daphne.

"Let me go!" Bell yelled.

"No! You can't just run from this!" Cassandra shouted. "Please don't run! It will make it worse!"

He reached for his knife and aimed to stab. Asfi was quick and disarmed him.

"Please let me go….I don't deserve to see the shame of anyone for what I have done…." Bell was crying.

Alfia was on her knees, as her heart was in pain. Conflicted with everything. She felt that shame and could just imagine the disappointment her own sister felt from this. She was in tears.

She was then getting up, but was held by Hermes.

"Please…." was all she could say weakly.

"If you do leave, it will make it worse for your nephew. Talk to him…." Was all Hermes said.

She looked at her nephew who just gave up and began to cry. She felt that shame and she wouldn't blame him for hating her. She wouldn't at all as she was selfish on her emotions.

She went over on her knees near Bell as he looked away.

"I'm so sorry Alfia….I'm so sorry….I don't deserve your love for what I have done…."

"Me neither Bell….I shouldn't have done it…."

Not far off from there, Freya was on her cloak, watching this along with Ottarl. She was surprised to see Alfia, a name she hadn't heard in years and was surprised she was alive. What makes it more shocking is who her nephew is and their growing relationship.

Hestia and Lilli followed Bell and watched on. On the one hand, they were happy to see Bell didn't do anything worse. On the other hand, just learning his relationship was now in an uncertainty. They never saw how hurt Bell is at all.

Cassandra then looked at both of them with a determined look, it was now or never. "Bell, Alfia. I need you to stop and think about this carefully. I saw how this would have played out in a way. Bell" She turned to look at him "You were going to stab your own eyes as you couldn't bear to see the shame of your own familia and friends. You couldn't live by knowing the truth of your actions and would lose the motivation to go back to the Dungeon."

She turned to see the older woman "Alfia, you would have hanged yourself of shame, not able to handle living in this world."

Bell realized the revelation on what he was about to do.

"I did see another vision though…." She looked up at the sky.

"You were both going to keep the relationship a secret by lying to others. That is until the woman in the tower would have exposed it out in the open."

Hestia's eyes widened hearing this. "Freya…"

Freya was surprised to hear this.

"She would have used it as a way to bring the bounty back of someone that was supposed to be dead and would have threatened both of you to end it. You both refused and both were given an opportunity by Lady Hestia for both of you to escape. By then, the story would spread that Hestia had a known criminal in her own familia and it would have been the end of the familia. She would be forced to disband the familia due to an outcry of Orario, and the familia would be given a black mark on their records of who they are."

She looked at her hands "You both will be running non stop, in hiding and praying for safety. In the end, both of you would live in misery, looking back each night of when the woman would want you."

She closed her eyes "Now….my visions have changed."

Bell decided to pay close attention to this one.

"Two paths lead a change to you. You can either take the Path of Blood or the Path of Bond. I need you to think carefully based on what your mind and heart are."

She got up.

"Daphne, Lord Hermes, and Asfi, let's give them space please."

They nodded and did so.

Both Bell and Alfia looked at one another and looked down.

"You know….I think that explained that odd connection when I was near you." Alfia chuckled.

"Yeah…." he sniffed as he dried his eyes "I had that feeling too strangely enough…"

Both looked at each other and laughed about this.

"Look at my, I was about to do something stupid….yet it took Cassandra to snap me back to normal. Just as she saw her pillow on her former home still, she in a way, saved us." Bell said.

She nodded, "I may have to thank her."

Both then looked at each other. "So….how do we handle this, Bell?"

Bell began to think about this carefully and closed his eyes. He began to find out how they can figure out how to do this. Then he said,

"Alfia, if I made this choice, would we do it openly?"

She thought about it for a moment and said "If it comes to whatever choice you make, I will be by your side no matter what."

"Okay."

He then cupped her face and began to kiss her.

This caused Hestia and Lilli their jaws to drop. Freya frowned on this as the others watched on quietly.

As the kiss ended, Bell smiled softly "Did you feel anything?"

She closed her eyes and smiled as well "No. Just a nephew being curious about how we have to feel. And I feel you are my blood, my lost kin that has been given to me."

He looked at her and extended his hand "Hello, my name is Bell Cranel. Captain of the Hestia Familia and a level 3 adventurer, nice to meet you Aunt Alfia!"

Alfia smiled and found happiness on seeing her blood kin, properly introduced "My name is Alfia. A former executive member of Hera's Familia and level 7, well was but not anymore. I am more or less just a normal tailor. Pleasure to meet you, nephew."

Both hugged and were happy to have each other. Long lost families are together.

Freya saw his soul so much brighter than ever. She would rather not ruin this family reunion at all. Sure she has a vendetta with any member of Hera's familia and the goddess in question, but she is no threat at all. For now, she would keep an eye open on both of them and would bide her time if anything goes wrong.

"Come Ottarl, let's go."

He nodded and both left.

Hestia and Lilli smiled softly. They would still be with him, whether they made it and Hestia was willing to stand her ground at all cost, while Lilli would continue to be on his side as well.

After all, family matters the most.

Hermes and the others came back to them. Alfia hugged Cassandra, which surprised the girl "Thank you."

She blushed and patted her back.

"I am so glad that a beautiful family reunion has occurred! A hero, found a long lost family member that was presumed gone." He then opened his arms "And a new motivation has entered the hero's heart!"

Asfi shook her head "Do you really have to be so theatrical?"

"Yes!"

Both Bell and Alfia laughed.

Epilogue, one month later….

Bell was placing his equipment on and looked ready to go.

"Did you pack everything, Bell?"

He turned and saw his aunt, holding a canteen of water.

"Yes, I did Aunt Alfia. I am ready to go now."

She smiled and gave him the canteen of water. "Do try to stay safe on the 19th floor. Firebirds are no joke."

He chuckled, "I will make sure we will play it safe and sound."

"Good. Now, off you go."

He nodded and left the room.

She smiled softly as Hestia came into the room as well. She looked at her and smiled.

"Day off?" the goddess asked.

"Yes. A perfect day for me to relax." She stretched a bit and sat on the bed.

"Good."

Then she looked at Hestia "I do hope my nephew is careful with any suitors he might bump into."

Hestia nearly fell on the bed.

Alfia continued "If he does bring any other girl to this mansion, to try to win his heart, we will have a nice, long….chat."

All over Orario, the women felt a great disturbance. A disturbance like no other.

For Ais, she had a determined look. She didn't care what obstacle she just felt, even if it was the Black Dragon, she would try to conquer this unknown force she just felt.

For Ryuu, she looked at her weapon and felt a determination like no other. She was ready to face whatever unknown force was there head on.

For some women, they wanted to go all in. They were training to trying to look as good as possible.

Others like Freya, they felt….intimidated. Something about this feeling frightened her for once in her life. More than Hera's own psychopathic tendencies.

While some just shrugged it off and had nothing else to do. It wasn't their problem.

The battle would be greater than the Black Dragon. The battle would be greater than reaching the bottom of the floor of the Dungeon.

The women will one day face the final boss for Bell's heart: Conquering his Aunt and winning the acceptance for that marriage proposal.

End

A/N: According to the author of Danmachi, he said if Alfia was alive, she would be like the final boss for his suitress. On that, I can understand in a way as we would like to see if the person is good enough for Bell. I would leave it as an open end on who would actually win his heart.

So yes, Path of Blood is the Aunt/Nephew relationship end. This was my third ending actually.

This fic was originally supposed to be more tragic. I was aiming for the Oediphus rewrite, only sadder. The first ending would have had Bell run away with no one able to catch him. They would find him in an area of Daedelus two days later, without both of his eyes gone while Alfia was found hanging outside of Orario in a tree. Bell's soul would darken and his motivation of Dungeon Diving is pretty much dead, due to his shame.

The second ending I had, was a longer epilogue where Bell and Alfia would have kept the relationship a secret, until Freya was watching this and would have watched the end of Hestia's Familia, broken up the familia by the pressure of the people in Orario and….yeah you are starting to see how sad it would be. Bell and Alfia would be together, but they would be more or less paranoid of being watched.

I changed my mind on the ending. That has to do with more or less how bleak the world is right now. I grew tired of it. So I wrote this third ending, Path of Blood, and found it endearing of a family reunited and a bond that is stronger than ever. Plus it would be a nice idea of revisiting how Alfia would deal with the girls that her nephew knows one day.

Then came Path of Bond, which I will explain more in the next chapter. So head over there as more notes are there.
