"Good morning, Madam Secretary."
"Morning, Blake." Elizabeth smiled, taking a sip of her coffee, "What's on today's agenda?"
"You have a meeting with the Russian ambassador at nine. Matt and Daisy said they'll be up in a minute to brief you." Blake paused before continuing, "Is that a new outfit?"
"No, I think I just have this one in no less than five other colors." Bess joked about her favorite knotted blouses.
"Then, you did something to your hair?" Blake prompted,
"Is there something wrong with it?" She wiped away invisible flyaways and pieces of hair that hadn't fallen out of its normal styling.
"No! Great as always! I just mean something's different and I can't put my finger on it."
"Well, when you figure it out, let me know. Preferably before Ambassador Varshavski does."
"Will do, ma'am."
"Thank you, Blake. Also, Henry's coming by for lunch so just send him in."
Blake lets out a sarcastic laugh, "Like anybody ever knocks in this building."
"Ma'am," Blake appeared at her office door, "Henry is here."
Elizabeth smiles and gratefully embraces her husband in his kiss.
Henry momentarily turns away from their embrace, "We may still be in the office but let's pretend she's not unless World War III is about to start."
Blake nods in understanding, and Bess could see the light bulb go off, "I figured it out! The reason I asked you this morning if you'd changed something. It's your glasses; Henry's wearing your glasses."
She looked to her husband and realized she had, indeed, been wearing his squarer frames all morning. The couple laughed and she traded him for her more circular ones.
AN: Loved writing this tiny blurb! And no, Ambassador Varshavski is not a real MSec character but I love Dr. Mike ;)
