(Hello Readers. Before we start Chapter 3 there are a few things I'd like to talk about. I didn't want it to be in its own chapter, because I personally skip over chapters like that, so instead, I decided that I would just put it on top of Chapter 3.

The first thing I would like to say is to thank you for the support so far. This is my first fanfiction so I didn't know what to expect in terms of audience but I am glad to say I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed everyone's comments and appreciated the pointers or constructive criticism. Everyone who hasn't commented, please feel free to do so and let me know what you think of my story so far.

The second thing is that I have a lot of ideas for this fanfiction. The story may be a bit cliche right now, but I think you can trust me when I say that I'm just getting started and that there is a reason for everything that I am doing. The whole reason I started writing this fanfiction was that I couldn't find any fanfiction like the one I was thinking about.

The third thing I would like to say is that SuperKryptonite3408 gave me a pretty good idea. They recommended to me some good Percy Jackson fanfiction. As fellow fanfiction readers, I think we both know that it isn't easy finding a really good fanfiction, so I hope that viewers will share Percy Jackson and the Olympians fanfiction that they enjoyed. That way, it's easier for me, and you, to find some good PJO fanfiction.

Feel free to ask questions in the replies, as I will try to answer all of them, without spoiling where the story will be going. I am happy to know you are following along with my story and thank anyone who does read it. Now, without further a due, let's get to A New Light Chapter 3, All Alone)

All Alone

Percy POV

Previously:

'They really don't care' he thought. 'I guess this is for the better then'. He grabbed Riptide from his pocket and uncapped it. He stared at the sword. It was a reminder of everything he had here, and he didn't want to remember those painful memories. He cut his connection to the sword and impaled it into the ground. He patted Thaila's tree and petted Peleus before walking off into the distance.

"Goodbye Camp Half-Blood," Percy said.

Present:

It had been a few days since Percy had left Camp. He had decided to head back home. After all, he still had his mom and Paul. He could stay with them for a while until he got back on his feet. When he finally reached the door, he knocked once.

"Hold on a second," a muffled voice said, walking up toward the door. The person opened the door, and Percy was now facing his mom, carrying a small bundle of cloth.

"Hey mom, can I stay here, some... stuff has been happening at camp?" asked Percy, rubbing his hand together nervously. His mother looked distraught.

"Look Percy," she started. 'Uh oh,' he thought. That is never a good sign. "Me and Paul….. we had a baby girl". Percy froze. He had a baby sister. He was ecstatic. He could use some good news.

"That's great," started Percy, a smile on his face. His mother's face did not look the same.

"Well I and Paul were thinking, and we wanted to raise her normally, without monsters, and chaos, and all that stuff," his mom told him. Percy's smile started to leave his face. He understood where this was going.

"So you want me to stay away?" asked Percy, his voice breaking.

Sally nodded. Percy looked heartbroken. He wouldn't be able to see his little sister grow up. His own mother didn't want him in her family's life. "Can I at least hold her?" asked Percy. Sally reluctantly let Percy hold her daughter. Percy smiled at the sight of his baby sister. She looked so innocent, reaching out to try to touch his face. He gave her back to his mom. "I understand, this is why everything happened. I cause too much trouble. I'm too much of a nuisance. I'm sorry you had to deal with me these past few years," Percy said. Before Sally could speak, he was running into the woods, not wanting to let out his emotions there. He ran farther and farther through the treacherous path.

He finally came into a clearing. There were no living organisms in sight. So he let it out.

All the pain and anguish he had been feeling. All the misery and depression. All of the negativity. He wasn't wanted. He wasn't needed. So why did he live anymore? Everyone made it clear that they didn't like him anymore. That his purpose had faded, and someone new would take the reins. And it hurt. Hurt to be tossed out like yesterday's garbage. He screamed a mighty scream and sobbed an ugly sob. He let everything out.

His emotions going haywire caused an explosion of overheated water molecules. His reactions left a huge crater in his place. Percy stood in the middle of the crater, heaving, and heaving. He looked around. His cheeks soaked with tears. What would he do now? Where would he go now? If there isn't anything here that makes life worth living, why should he continue to live? He remembered that his birthday was tomorrow. He was turning eighteen. It also would have been his and Annabeth's 2 year anniversary. 'Guess I'll end my life then,' he thought. He got out of the crater and moved to a tree. After he made himself comfortable, he fell asleep, awaiting tomorrow, the day he would end it all.

Percy woke up. The sun was glaring at him (figuratively) and the birds were as loud as ever. He hopped off his tree. He stretched, groaning as his joints popped. 'Happy 18th Birthday to me,' thought Percy glumly. He headed out to find food. He wasn't the best hunter but his abilities came in handy. He used the moisture in the air to sense moving things and found a stag trotting around a bush. He snuck over there. Once he was facing the creature he held out his hand. Moisture in the air started to collect above his hand until a sharp spear was hovering over it. Percy leaned back and threw the spear at the beast.

The creature's face was pierced, killing it instantly. Percy got out of the bushes and dragged the stag back to his tree. He then collected a pile of sticks, and set it down. He got rid of the moisture near the pile and started rubbing sticks together to make a fire. After he successfully made a spark, he roasted his meat, humming "Happy Birthday" while waiting.

After finishing his meal, he went to find a place to end it, he wandered around aimlessly, until he found a clearing of beautiful flowers along a sandy beach. Percy faintly remembered Katie saying they were called Sailors Deep, a flower that grew new shipwrecks. Katie. The name stung, so he decided not to think about it.

He stood next to the flowers and formed a sword out of the water splashing on the beach. He held the sword up, ready to plunge it into himself, and end his misery. Then he stopped.

He sensed the presence behind him. He let the water flow back into the sea and turned around.

"Lady Hestia, Lord Hades," Percy said respectively.

"Please, just call me Hestia," the goddess said. Hades agreed with the statement. "What were you about to do Percy," asked Hestia. She had a worried look in her eyes.

"I was going to end it all, I have no purpose anymore, so I thought why should I keep living?" Percy replied. Hestia walked over and wrapped our hero into a warm hug. Warmth and hope wrang through his body. He could feel the tears pouring out of his eyes.

"What if I give you a purpose," Hestia proposed. Percy looked at her questioningly. "What if I… What if I adopted you". He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Hestia wanted to adopt him. Someone wanted him. He stood there, mouth agape. Hestia started to look frantic.

"I mean if you don't want to that's fine-," Percy cut her off.

"I would love to become your son," replied Percy, a smile on his face. Hestia relaxed. Percy was suddenly overcome with a bright orange light. "I have gifted you the ability to regulate your body temperature, and to heat your body up to a degree," Hestia told him. Percy nodded.

Hades walked up.

"Percy, you are by far my favorite nephew, it would be a shame if you were to end your life right now. Here, take this cloak, which will put a shadow over your face, and allow you to blend into the shadows," Hades told him. Percy grabbed the cloak, thanking Hades profusely. Hades laughed and patted Percy on the back which surprised him. He could count on one hand the number of times he heard Hades let out a genuine laugh.

"If anyone deserves this cloak, it is you. Take it as an apology for what my son and daughter have done to you," said Hades solemnly. Percy shook his head.

"You can't control their actions, but I will still take the cloak," said Percy, taking the cloak from Hades' hands.

He wrapped it around himself. A snug fit. Percy looked back at Hestia and Hades, who were smiling.

"Now, my son, I shall let you go on. Explore the world and all it has to offer, you would be surprised to see that you can start anew. Now, I bid you farewell. If you ever need to talk just start a campfire and throw these in". Hestia handed Percy some drachmas. "These are special and will send me a direct message to you," Hestia explained. Percy nodded. He smiled at Hestia and Hades one more time before they flashed away.

Percy thought for a second. His mother and uncle were right. Percy didn't have to end it now. He could start anew, and find new things to care for. That didn't mean that he still wasn't hurting, but he felt a little better. Percy was just about to leave when he realized something.

Now, a lot of people say that Percy isn't smart. That isn't completely true. Percy isn't the most book smart, but he is definitely battle smart. His limited book smarts come from listening to Annabeth drone on about something or another. Annabeth. That name still hurt.

He shook his head. That wasn't the point. He remembered her talking about how water vapor is created by heating up water. Hestia had just given him the ability to heat his body. He also learned a trick to turn his body into water, a trick he didn't use often because he couldn't move very well as a liquid. 'If everything Annabeth was droning on about, if true, he could turn his body into water vapor to travel around.

Percy wanted to try it. The ability to travel as water vapor would be a very useful one, so that night, he continually practiced Vapor Travel, in hopes of perfecting it.

2 Year Time Skip:

It had been 2 years since he was given a new purpose and Percy had just turned 20. He had been traveling around the world in search of new adventures and helping others out. Percy didn't stay in one place for too long, always disappearing in the middle of the night.

Percy had helped a lot of demigods reach the camp, not revealing to them any information about who he was. He had gotten better at his Vapor Travel, able to take along two other people. He was pretty proud of that.

Percy was taking a nighttime stroll underwater when he happened upon some ruins. Curious, he willed the water to clean off the dirty slabs of stone, and he could make out some words in greek.

"Here lies my greatest achievement. The world is a cruel place and sometimes feels like you don't belong. If you need an escape place your hand here to leave your planet. Here lies a new adventure," Percy read aloud. He scratched his head. A new adventure. New places to explore. Sounds great to him. A new planet sounds like a great new first start. Percy reached out to touch the stone until he stopped himself. Though he had many bad memories here, he still wanted to say goodbye.

Percy vapor traveled to an open clearing in the forest. He gathered some sticks and made a campfire. After the fire started eating away at the wood, Percy took out one of Hestia's special drachmas. He tossed it into the fire. The fire flared and an image appeared of Hestia, sitting on her throne, the throne room empty.

"Mom," Percy called out. Hestia broke out of her daze and welcomed Percy with a bright smile.

"Percy, how can I help you?" she asked.

"Can you and Hades please meet me at my location, I would like to speak to both of you," Percy replied? Hestia nodded and the connection was cut. Percy sat on the ground until Hades and Hestia flashed in.

"Yes, nephew?" asked Hades.

"I'd like to thank you, guys. You made my life worth living again, and I couldn't thank you enough. I found something. That will let me leave this planet. I wanted to tell you guys how much I appreciate you before I leave," Percy explained. Hestia moved in for a hug. Percy complied. While hugging Percy, Hestia gave Hades a look. Hades reluctantly joined in on the hug. After a while, Hestia and Hades let go of Percy.

"Are you leaving now?" asked Hestia.

"Not just yet, there is one more place I want to go to before I leave," Percy replied. Hestia nodded, and she and Hades flashed away. Percy vapor traveled to his old home, Camp Half-Blood.

Percy wasn't sure what he was going to see. Would it be any different, would it be exactly the same. 'I guess I will find out when I see,' thought Percy to himself.

As he arrived on top of a hill overlooking the camp he was surprised about what he was seeing. He saw a huge group of cheering campers. He noticed Jason, Piper, Hazel, Frank, Leo, and Calypso in the crowd. In the middle of the crowd was Jameson. He was crouching on one knee, holding up a ring to Annabeth, who was balling her eyes out in happy tears. Jameson slipped the ring onto Annabeth's finger and kissed her. The crowd cheered harder

Percy wasn't sure what to feel. Happy? Depressed? He decided to just accept it as fact. The camp didn't need him anymore, they made that much clear. So Percy looked at the place where he used to live one last time before vapor traveling back to the ruins.

"Getting off this planet," Percy started, "would be a great thing". He pressed his hand firmly on the ruins. The words started to glow, before a massive portal to who knows where. Strangely enough, the water from the sea was not flowing out of the portal. "Not the strangest thing I've seen," Percy said to himself.

'Guess I should say goodbye to this planet,' Percy thought to himself.

"Goodbye Earth, I had some fun times here, but the bad memories overrule the good ones. I hope to see you again once I got myself all figured out. But for now," Percy let a tear fall "Goodbye". And with that, he jumped into the portal, starting his new adventure.
