Chapter 2 – The Super Strange Relative
I managed to catch the train on time. And had just left the station to start walking on the same path to school that I used for the past two years.
Man…walking down this path is starting to bring back memories. 2 years ago on the first day, it was just Tsukasa and I as we were only first-years. And then from there on, we made some new friends. And became a full-on group.
And one of those friends just happens to be…
"Ka-ga-MIN!"
"*shriek*"
*POW*
"D-Damn pervert! Seriously, we're close to school! People can see what's happening!" I yelled at the common blue-haired nuisance after she had grabbed me from behind. Wrapping her arms around my waist.
"So, it's fine as long as we're not close to school, right?"
"No. It isn't okay wherever we're at. Stop treating me like we're some kind of couple."
"But Kagamin…aren't you into girls?"
"Wh-Wha…What are you implying?!" I asked with a huge blush on my face.
"Well, Kagamin…you don't really show any interest in boys. Often staying away from them and such."
"Th-That's because a lot of them are stupid perverts like you!"
"Ouch. Right in the heart, as usual, Kagami-sama."
"Quit calling me that, damnit!"
"Good morning, Izumi-san. Kagami-san."
"Oh. Morning, Miyuki." I said to the pink-haired glasses girl as she had walked up to both of us.
"Hey, Miyuki." Konata said. "Looking refined as usual, huh?"
"Refined?" Miyuki gained a confused look. "Uh…sure. I guess. And you two look…uh…normal as usual."
"This really shouldn't be normal, Miyuki." I said as I finally got Konata off of me.
"Moving on…" Konata said. "…this is our third year, ladies. One last chance to really enjoy ourselves."
"You say that…but this is the year in which we have to plan out our college education. Something that at least Miyuki and I will take seriously."
"You think I won't take college seriously?"
"Well, you already don't take high school seriously. So, yeah."
"She has a point, Izumi-san." Miyuki added.
"What? You too, Miyuki?"
"I'm just going from past experiences. Mainly from the multiple times Kuroi-sensei smacked you on the head."
"Last year was pretty high, right?" I asked. "Wonder if they'll be a new record or something. Care to prove me right, Konata?" I then turned to her with a smirk on my face.
"Oh, shut it, Kagamin." Konata retorted with a pissed-off look on her own face.
"So, this is our final year…" Miyuki said. "…It's going to feel highly different this time around. Since Tsukasa-chan's no longer with us."
"Oh, yeah. She transferred schools. Where did that student exchange program take her to?"
"Uh…" I went dead silent.
If I tell them that Tsukasa's in Takaoka, I'll never hear the end of it. Mainly from Konata.
"…S-Some school down south. I forgot the name. it's been a while since she told me and all."
"Really?" Konata stared me down with a suspicious look.
"Yep. Pretty much." I replied as I looked away from her.
She probably knows that I'm lying my ass off…
"Well…I just hope she's having fun over there." Miyuki said.
The walk to school continued like always. Us talking about topics so random that at some point you start questioning what the hell you're talking about.
Why did it take me so long to actually notice that?
Anyway…all of that random talking made the trip easier. Cause we were approaching the school gates where the other students were gathering up and heading inside. And we were about to do the same when we caught something in our sights.
"Oh? Isn't that Kuroi-sensei over there?" Miyuki asked as she pointed up ahead. And there was the world history teacher Nanako Kuroi standing next to her car. Along with some blonde-haired girl.
"Hey, that is her." Konata said. "And it looks like she's talking to that girl over there. I'm gonna see what's up."
"What? Don't. It's probably none of our business, anyway." I said.
"Oh, come on, Kagamin. It's just one peak. And besides…Kuroi-sensei looks pretty annoyed at that girl."
"Huh?" I looked over again and noticed that she did look pretty annoyed. Which, from what Konata would tell me, is oftentimes rare on its own right.
Now, I'm actually curious…what could they be talking about?
Nanako's POV
"*sigh* Thank God…we actually made it on time."
"I didn't take for you to be such a speed demon, Nanako. You were just flowing on down like pee going into a toilet."
"Okay, one. That's gross. And second, I was speeding because YOU made us late! We were supposed to be here an hour ago…BEFORE the students arrived!
"Well, sorry. But I had to make sure I had dark enough panties on. Just in case my period goes crazy and I end just *SPLURT* all up inside as if I sat on some Jell-O. The darker the better, Nanako."
"Gee…thanks for ruining Jell-O for me." I said with a sweatdrop. "And I already told you…It's Kuroi-sensei when we're here."
"Aw, what? Can't I just call you Kuroin?"
"N-No, you can't call me Kuroin!" I grew a blush on my face. "Do you want people to find out about us?!"
"Geez…you're making it sound like a big deal. Almost as if we're clashin' vaganas or something like that."
"Again, that's gross!" I said with an exasperated tone. "And there's only two a's in that word, damnit."
"Oh, I know. But three makes it funnier."
That part should NEVER be funny!
"*sigh*You are a freaking mess as always…" I facepalmed hard.
This girl who I was talking to (and getting annoyed with rather quickly) is one simply known as…Kirin Miyagi. A girl with bright blue eyes and blonde hair made into two ponytails. With the one in front made to cover most of the right side of her face. She had transferred to Ryōō from a school in Okinawa. And I was giving her a ride here.
As to how I know her…we're…basically close.
"Look, Kirin. If you're really going to be attending here, then you really gotta take this seriously. I really had to pull some strings in order for you to start on day 1. Strings that I'm not proud of."
"Not proud of? What, did you suck a pingas or something?"
"N-No, damnit!" I yelled before calming down again. "My point is…I would have never done this for anyone else. So, the fact that I went through all that for you of all people…you should at least be grateful."
…
…
…
"But I am grateful."
"H-Huh?" I looked at Kirin with a look of shock.
"Knowing what I'm currently going through right now…you did a hell of a lot more than anyone has ever done for me. I would be depressed to the point of suicide if you didn't take me in. So…even though I get on your nerves a lot with my dirty jokes and such…I truly am grateful for what you've done, Nanako."
"W-Wow…Kirin, I had no idea you felt that way."
"Of course I do. Otherwise, my jokes would be completely depressing and not make people uncomfortable. I got a reputation to keep, ya dig?"
"And…that's the response I was totally expecting from you." I gained a sweatdrop.
"Anyway…let's go already. I'm gonna clean this place so good of its secrets like a colonic."
"Of all things…WHY a colonic?"
"*giggle* Try to keep up, Nanako. Or else I'll clean you, too~."
"Wh-What? K-Kirin, you little…" I said with a mild blush as I started chasing after her. Then, as we approached the school gates…
*BAM*
"Ow…"
"Serves you right for running." I said after Kirin had bumped into someone. "You okay?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine. Luckily, this elementary kid broke my fall."
"Huh?"
"Wh-Who are you calling an elementary kid?! And get off me already!"
Hearing the sudden voice, Kirin finally got up. And getting up from the ground was a certain blue-haired green-eyed student that I know very well.
Oh…elementary kid. That kinda makes sense.
"*sigh* Geez, I hope my uniform's still clean. I'm not gonna have time to clean any dirt off."
"Izumi, what were you doing behind that corner?" I asked. Already knowing the answer.
"Oh…morning, Kuroi-sensei. I was just leaning up against it like one of those bad girls you see in school manga. I'm going for a new personality."
"Seriously…" I wasn't buying it.
"She was definitely spying on you." Hiiragi said as she and Takara came up to us."
"Way to snitch on me, Kagamin…"
"Hey, I was the one who told you to mind your own business. The fact that you got caught is your own damn fault."
"Meanie Kagamin…"
"Hey, Nanako. Do you know this elementary kid?" Kirin asked me.
"Q-Quit calling me an elementary kid! I'm in high school!"
"Seriously? But you look nothing like one. In fact, you honestly remind me of one of those loli-sized character pillows people use to ejaculate on."
"Wh-What the hell?!" Izumi and Hiiragi yelled with huge blushes on their faces.
"O-Oh, my…" Takara softly. Also with a blush on her face.
"Is ther ever an off moment with you?" I asked the blonde-haired troublemaker with yet another exasperated look.
"S-Sensei, do you know this girl?" Hiiragi asked.
"Her name's Kirin Miyagi. She's attending here for her third year from a school in Okinawa."
"Okinawa?"
"That sounds nice." Takara said.
"Yeah…" Izumi said. "…But how does that relate to you knowing her? Are you two close?"
"Well, it depends. How much did you hear?"
"Not much. Something along the lines of "You should be grateful that I did this for you" or something like that."
"Then you heard a pretty decent chunk…" I said with a disgruntled tone.
"Come on, Nanako. Just tell them." Kirin said. "I mean, it's not like they're going to scream it out like they're having an orgasm."
"Wh-Why the hell would you compare it to THAT of all things?!" Hiiragi yelled as the trio gained another blush on each of their faces.
They already heard two sex jokes…there's no going back at this point.
"*sigh* Fine." I said before taking a deep breath. "You see, Kirin is…well…technically my daughter."
"Y…Your…Your DAUGHTER?!" The girls asked in total shock.
"Ding-a-ling! You're right!" Kirin cheered with a thumbs up.
"D-Ding-a-ling?!" And…they're blushes came back.
"Kirin, shut up." I retorted.
"K-Kuroi-sensei, you have a daughter?!" Izumi asked.
"TECHNICALLY a daughter. Truth is, I adopted her."
"Adopted?"

"Look, we'll talk about this later. Just…don't tell anyone this, got it? Come on, Kirin."
"See you around, girls. Be careful when losing your virginity~."
"WH-WHY EVEN SAY THAT?!" Izumi and Hiiragi yelled as we left the trio confused and flustered.
"Seriously…you really need to stop with the sex jokes." I said to Kirin. "Or at least ease up with them."
"Hmm…I'll at least try to ease up with them. If you let me call you Kuroin, that is."
"You're dead-set on that name, aren't you?" I then went silent for a bit. "Well…okay, fine. Just don't overdo it. Some people are going to get the wrong idea."
"Yeah, sure. Don't want people to think we're into each other's sweet sweet monkey vagine."
I'm not even going to respond to that… I gained a mental sweatdrop.
"Just go hurry up and get ready. The opening ceremony starts in 10 minutes."
"Alright, alright." Kirin then ran ahead of me to the school entrance in some sort of a hurry. But then suddenly, she stopped and turned back around to face me. "Hey, Kuroin…I meant what I said before. I really am grateful for all you've done for me. And I hope you continue to help me from this point onward."
"Kirin…" I came close to shedding a tear. "…Of course, I'll help you. You are my daughter now. And my student, too."
"*giggle* Thanks, Kuroin!" Kirin then ran off inside. Leaving me on my own as I headed for the teacher's office. With only one simple thought left in my mind.
This is going to be one hell of a year…
Author's Note: The second chapter! And it introduces the main character, too!
Kirin Miyagi – A 17-year-old girl who, after some events in her past, lives with Nanako as her guardian. She has a VERY dirty vocabulary and isn't afraid to use it. Much to everyone else's dismay.
Chapter 3 is up next. Thanks for reading. Later.
