Past Revealed

Aubree POV:

Previously:

"I'm guessing you're the king then?" Karma asked. The king looked angered. "Well then, let's play". And with that, Karma charged at his enemies, ready to fight.

Present:

Aubree ran down the corridors, ensnaring any guards in overgrown vines. She hurriedly made her way to the other cells and used her vines to crack open the cells. She ushered the prisoners out.

"Has anyone seen Derion?" asked Aubree. A young woman walked towards her.

"Derion?" she asked. "Derion was…" she choked on her tears. "Derion was sent to execution a long time ago".

Aubree held back her sobs. She could mourn her brother's death later, right now she needed to help these people. Besides, Karma should give the king what he deserved. Although the king was strong, Aubree believed that Karma was stronger. The castle rumbled. Whatever was happening during the battle, was causing some massive explosions.

Aubree and the prisoners ran out of the cell, working together to incapacitate guards that were in the way. They reached the doors of the castle and started to head to it when they heard a voice.

"YoU tHinK yoU CAn gEt pASt mE?" asked the voice that Aubree recognized as Solomon. He stepped out of the shadows, dark energy swirling around him. His wounds were evident. Aubree was sure that if it weren't for his power, Solomon would fall to the ground where he stood.

"Get out of the way Solomon," Aubree said determined, standing in a fighting position.

"I'll gET tHaT lOSeR ThaT sHot mE eArLIer AfTeR i deAl WIth yOu," Solomon said. The wisps of dark energy stopped flowing and pointed at the crowd. Aubree readied her hands.

Boom! The wisps shot toward them, trying to impale Aubree, but she was quicker. She slammed her hands into the ground and caused roots to rise in front of her, shielding herself and the others from the attacks. The wisps impaled the roots, before pulling back.

"sO yOu'Re gOiNG tO mAKe thINGs DiFficUlt HuH?" asked Solomon. The darkness forms in front of him, making a scythe. It was black, with purple swirls decorating the hilt. He grabbed his weapon and lunged at Aubree. He swiped, but Aubree ducked under his blow. He swiped at her neck, only to be pushed back by Aubree.

Solomon snarled at her, jumping back. He started to collect more darkness around him. Aubree held out her hand, and roots twisted themselves into a staff. She focused all her magic onto the top of the staff, where an opening was. A glowing green rock formed on the staff. She held it out.

"Come at me Solomon!" she screamed. Solomon growled and charged at her. His darkness shot small knives of dark energy, that she easily deflected by creating roots that slapped the offending weapons away from her and the group. He swung his scythe in a downward motion. Aubree blocked him with her staff and pushed him away. The rock on her staff started to glow green before root tendrils launched themselves as Solomon.

Solomon snarled once again and willed his darkness to form blades, intercepting the tendrils before they made contact. Aubree and Solomon stared each other down. Both of them had shown great skill, and the battle could go either way. Solomon seemed to realize this and smirked.

"I had fun hottie, but it's time to end this," Solomon said, despite the look of disgust Aubree gave him. He twirled his scythe, and his dark aura surrounded him and thickened. The darkness swirled around him, making it impossible to see him. As the mist cleared, Aubree could see that Solomon had changed. He had dark tendrils sticking out of his skin, and onto his chest. He looked to be in even worse condition than he started in.

Solomon pulled up his shirt, revealing a pumping black heart. "I offered my life to darkness, and it's given me power in return. You should just give up hot stuff, and let me kill you". Solomon held out his scythe, and the blade started to glow a black color, light seemingly being pulled into the weapon. Aubree could see that he was charging up an attack, one that she could not block.

Aubree looked back at her comrades. They all had a pleading look on their face. She was filled with determination. She could save these people, she would save these people. She gathered all of their feelings of desperation, despair, trust, and most importantly hope. She channeled it into one final move. Solomon smiled.

"Goodbye hottie," he said, swinging his scythe, letting loose a slash of dark energy. Aubree closed her eyes and breathed. She clamped her fists upon her staff and slammed it down. Roots instantly spread from the ground, covering everything and everybody. The slash clashed with the aura of the tree. Sparks flew everywhere, and eventually, roots overtook the attack, absorbing the energy. The roots then wrapped around Solomon, who was struggling to set himself free.

The roots clamped together, crushing Solomon, killing him. The tree that surrounded everyone started to glow a bright green, releasing spores. The spores made contact with the prisoners, healing their wounds. Aubree smiled. She did it. Now all she could hope was that Karma did his part.

Karma POV:

Karma leaped at the king, only to be intercepted by one of his knights. The knight brought down his huge claymore to Karma, shooting him back to the ground, his only cover the shield he had conjured beforehand. He jumped back up and conjured a sword out of water. He lunged at the knight, and traded blows, before knocking the knight out with the back of his sword.

The other two knights stepped forward, swords in hand. Karma punched the ground, making an earthquake. The knights stumbled, and he took that opportunity to dash to one of them, breaking their helmet, along with their nose with his fist. He whipped his hand at the other knight, creating a whip of water, and grabbed the knight, pulling them over before headbutting them in the face, shattering their helmet.

A platform of mages started to fire attacks at him, which he dodged. He pointed at the group and let loose two steam bullets, effectively incapacitating them. With all the distractions out of the way, Karma stared at the king. The king sat up begrudgingly and picked up his humongous staff.

"I guess I will have to deal with the intruder myself," the king said. He slammed his staff down onto the ground, and the room started to shake. Big earth-made beings emerged from the ground. They started to stomp towards him. Karma shot a steam bullet at them, blowing their faces into smithereens. Karma smirked. That didn't seem to be enough though, as their faces started to reform, and they just looked angrier.

Karma dodged attacks from the earthly beings and looked at the king. He was standing up, holding the glowing staff, and unmoving. Karma saw the king in intense concentration and observed that this ability took a lot from the king. He looked around, what could he do? An earth-being threw a punch at him, which Karma effectively dodged and landed on the fist. Suddenly, a thought popped into Karma's head.

He leaped away from the creatures and concentrated. The winds started to pick up, and the humidity increased. In the middle of the room, a miniature hurricane was starting to form. Then the rain started. Heavy rain washed the room, converting all of the earth-born into piles of mud. As soon as all of the creatures were gone, he ended the hurricane.

The king snapped out of his concentration and lunged at Karma. He dodged and fired a steam bullet. The impact pushed the king back, who was holding up a shield made up of the earth. The two traded blows, Karma with a sword made of water and the king with his staff. Swipe! Clash! Cling! The fighting went on. The king stood back.

"You can't defeat me, do you know who I am? I am King Asmodeus IV, and I will-" the king was stopped on his rant, his eyes widened in surprise. He had a spear made of water sticking out of his face.

"Huh?" he said stunned.

"Welp, I'm Karma mother f****** Karma, and I'll defeat whoever the f*** I want," Karma sassily replied. 'Still got it' he thought.

The king choked on the spear, before falling on the floor. The spear converted back into a liquid. Karma dusted himself off.

"You reap what you sow, you have received your judgment, karma has been brought upon you," Karma said, watching the life drain from the king's eyes. 'That's one less evil ruler' thought Karma.

Karma walked out of the castle and found the entire elf village hugging lost ones and crying happy tears for their return. Aubree noticed Karma and rushed over to hug him.

"You did it," Aubree said.

"We did it," Karma corrected. Aubree gave him one last final squeeze before letting go. The elves in the village went up and profusely thanked both Aubree and Karma. Karma shot it down, saying it was nothing, causing the elves to thank him even more, and reprimand him for playing down his good deed. Everyone was smiling as they headed back to the village.

A feast was held in the village, and everyone attended, catching up on lost time. The village elder banged her glass against the table to silence everyone.

"Because the king is dead," the elder stated, "we need to get a new royalty, and I think we know the person perfect for this job. Everyone turned their heads to look at Aubree, who was inconspicuously drinking her ale. She looked up and spat out her drink.

"Me!?" Aubree asked. Everyone nodded their heads.

"Your leadership while you helped the prisoners was unparalleled. Who better to lead this kingdom than someone who has lived as one of us," the elder said. Everyone nodded their heads. Aubree blushed.

"I will do my best," she replied. Everyone cheered and passed around more ale.

Aubree POV:

As the night went on, Aubree found herself sitting alone with Karma, watching the stars as they twinkled along the night sky.

"My family," she started. Karma looked at her. "My family and I lived a peaceful life. We all helped on the farm. My brother and I-," she let a tear roll. "We would always play fun games. With my magic being life, and his being physical enhancements, we would always play the weirdest games involving our magic. Then….the-," she started to tear up more.

Karma wrapped his hand around his friend and held her close. He whispered words of kindness into her ears. She continued.

"Then King Asmodeus came into power, and he drained all of our resources. Many families didn't have enough to pay, so he would keep our family members as an incentive. He killed my own parents in front of me and took my brother. I worked so hard to keep him alive, only to find out he had died long ago," Aubree told Karma. Karma looked down solemnly.

"I will make sure the people in this village get the happiness they deserve," Aubree said with determination. "I will make sure all the sacrifices were not in vain". The duo looked back at the stars in comfortable silence, until Karma started to speak.

"My family betrayed me," Karma started. "My name before this was Percy Jackson, and I…. I am a demigod". Aubree gasped. That is what he meant by his powers coming from his heritage. Her friend was half-god.

Karma started to tell his story. On how he and his friends saved the world twice, and all the hardships they had to go through. Karma was openly crying as he spoke, and Aubree comforted him. When Karma got to the betrayal, Aubree was furious. How dare they do that to their hero. As he finished his story, Aubree wrapped him in another hug.

"Promise you will keep this a secret?" asked Karma. Aubree nodded. Karma smiled. "So you are a queen now huh Bree?" Karma teased. Aubree groaned.

"Don't you dare start treating me differently because of my new social status," Aubree pressured. Karma laughed.

"Wouldn't dream about it, Bree".

3-month Timeskip:

Aubree POV:

It was the day of Aubree's coronation. She was in the newly designed castle getting ready. She had her staff in hand, and a crown on her head. She was getting ready when she heard a voice from the shadows.

"Look who looks all fancy now". It was Karma, resting on a windowsill trying to contain his laughter. Aubree huffed and threw a rock at him.

"Ouch," Karma exclaimed. Aubree smiled. Karma leaped down the windowsill and dusted himself off.

"Ready to show these people their new queen?" Karma asked. Aubree nodded, her eyes filled with determination.

"I will do the best for my people". Karma smiled and walked with her to the balcony facing the villages.

Aubree breathed in.

"People of Willow's Valley. (A/N I realized I never mentioned a name for the kingdom, so that is it) I am your new queen, Aubree Herefina, and I will be making sure this kingdom is treated fairly. No more overly expensive taxes. No more worrying if your loved ones will survive. We will make this kingdom a happy place for all, and I'll need your help to do that. Queen's may be royalty, but what is royalty without their citizens. So let's turn Willow's Valley into a great place for everybody!"

Everyone cheered. Aubree smiled and turned to look at Karma. Karma gave her his signature lopsided grin. The queen and Karma let everyone into the castle and enjoyed a party for the rest of the day.

7-month Timeskip:

Karma POV:

Karma was relaxing in Aubree's room in the castle, waiting for his friend to join him. As he looked out the window, he thought about all the great memories he made. He really was happy that he left earth, there was so much more he could explore here.

The last few months have been the best. Aubree had been trying to figure out queenship, and she wasn't doing a bad job at all. In fact, a lot of villagers constantly gave her their praise, and Karma decided there really wasn't anyone better for the job. He had mourned her brother's death with her. Aubree and Karma had shared their sorrows, and they had become even better friends.

Karma had become popular in the villages as well, is known as the kingslayer in all. Most people were impressed by his skill, and he got challenged a lot by elves to test their strength. He didn't mind it, it was fun helping people get stronger. Speaking of getting stronger, Aubree had been getting stronger, able to control bigger sizes or roots, and more of them. He guessed that the staff she created was able to take in her people's feelings, and convert them into power. 'Pretty cool if I say so myself' thought Karma.

Finally, the door opened, and in stepped Aubree.

"Hey Bree," Karma explained. Aubree smiled.

"Hello Karma, so what have you called me for". Karma's smile left his face, and he looked out from the window once again.

"I'm leaving," he said. He looked back at Aubree, who had a look of understanding.

"I knew this day would come". She rushed over to him and strangled him in a massive hug. "You better not die Karma, or I'll kill you myself. Make sure to stay in contact as well, if you don't visit me from time to time I'll kill you," Aubree ranted. Karma laughed and hugged her back.

"Welp, I don't want you to kill me, so I'll make sure to adhere to those rules," Karma said.

"This isn't a goodbye, this is a see you later," Aubree said. Karma nodded.

"See you later Aubree," Karma said. Aubree wiped a tear from her eye.

"See you later Karma". And with that, Karma vapor traveled away, to a major water source so he could use his new move, Planetary Vapor Travel. If he was in a major source of water, he could vapor travel to other planets. Karma smiled, his adventures were just beginning.

Unknown POV:

She was sent down by her father to clear up an issue in Willow's Valley. She was first to make an inspection, and detail how urgent the matter was. As she arrived, she was surprised to see happy villagers, enjoying their daily lives. The report said that the royalty had been terrorizing the land. She walked up to a villager.

"Hello, can I ask you a few questions?" she asked. The villager nodded happily. "I have been reported that the royalty has been terrorizing the land, is that true?" The villager shook his head.

"No, Queen Aubree is the best, she is so thoughtful and caring," the villager defended. She was surprised. The report said nothing of a Queen, only a king.

"Now if you are talking about King Asmodeus, he was a terrible ruler, good thing Karma showed him his place". She tilted her head.

"Karma?" she asked. The villager shook his head.

"Yeah, our savior along with the Queen," the villager told her.

"Where is he now?" she asked. This Karma person could be good for the command.

"We don't know, he left a while ago, wanted to explore the universe".

She sighed, of course, he left. She thanked the villager and summoned a portal to her castle, being greeted by her father's face.

"Vivian, you came back early," her father questioned? Vivian nodded.

"It seems the problem had been resolved before we came," Vivian told her father. He looked surprised.

"By who?" he asked. Vivian's blacks eyes twinkled with mirth. The multiple colors swimming around in them spinning with glee.

"By a guy named Karma, and I will find him by my father's name, Chaos".
