Seeking the Truth, with a dash of a Sister-complex

8/09 District Prosecutors Office Daytime

"Why am I off the case?" Naoto questioned the SIU Director who was just unpleased as her.

"Your little stunt during that talk show made the police look like fools. Do you have any idea of the ramifications you caused?" The Director sternly questioned back.

"With all due respect sire, I have only stated the facts about the situation." Naoto explained. "If we can only figure out who their target will be before they act, we should be able to deter the Phantom Thief group from changing their hearts. And besides, surely we would've been able to take care of these criminals before hand-"

"I've heard enough. That loose lip will of yours will serve no one." The Director interrupted with annoyance in his tone. "You are off the case and that is final. Is that clear enough for you?"

"... Of course." Naoto reluctantly as she left the office.

"Goddamn nuisance...!" The SIU Director growled.

As Naoto walked through the hallway, she noticed several glares directed at her. After the show that she went on ended, there was a negative feedback afterwards and it resulted in mockery towards the authorities.

"Were the police always this complacent...?" Naoto wondered as she pressed the elevator button. As the elevator door open, she sees Akechi in the elevator. "Akechi-kun." Naoto said as she enters the elevator.

"Ah, Shirogane-senpai. A pleasure to see you around here... Although, what brings you all the way here?" He asks.

"Where do I begin...?" Naoto sighed as the elevator door closes.

8/11 TV World's Yasogami High Afternoon

*Speculation

Naoto explained her story of how she was no longer on the Phantom Thieves case due to the critics of her live TV Broadcast a week back and that Akechi was assigned to take the case on his own. "... As to my reason being here, it is because of the Security Planning Division sent me to look into a case that can't be explained."

"A case that can't be explained? So... What's the case about?" Nora wondered as everyone else sweat-dropped.

Naoto said nothing but sighed as the other students took the hint. "Nora, a detective's case is classified information." Ren informed her as she moped. "Regardless, it's good to see that you caught on, Naoto."

"Thank you. This tournament doesn't make any sense. Pitting friend against friend in battle is going too far for some joke." Naoto sighed. "But it seems, at least in part, what my friends say prior to our fights, are all but illusions.

"Not to mention that Rise and Teddie might have been illusions too, but we're still missing Rise. And giving her Persona ability..." Blake added.

"It's possible that that really was her on the screens. But if our enemy can use illusions, she might actually be a victim, too..." Ruby assumed.

"Then... the real Rise's here too!?" Pyrrha realized.

"I guess that seems true." Weiss nodded. "If she wasn't here, she wouldn't be able to appear on the TV as a commentator. It's no wonder that we never heard her say anything so harsh."

"That's true... though, I least have faith in my friends than that." Naoto assured.

"Hmm... if Rise's here, then..." Ruby looked around to see some broken TV lying around and realized something. "Rise! Can you hear me!?" She she shout as her voice echoed through the hallway.

Right on que, however, Rise's voice rung out. "Ruby-chan! Oh thank goodness I got through!" Rise's voice echoed via Persona Link.

"Oh my god, Rise IS here!" Jaune gasped.

"Jaune-kun! Everyone...! I'm so glad to hear you guys!" Rise exclaimed. "Ever since this weird fake Teddie kidnapped me, I've been all alone. The others were fighting each other, too...!" She explained.

"She's not contacting us on the PA system, that's good." Naoto sighed with relief, but then noticed something. "Hold on, the others 'were' fighting each other? How long ago was this?" She asked.

"I'm not sure, our scrolls won't work here." Rise told them. "I saw our friends together and the fake Teddie did something to tear everyone apart. No matter how they tried to regroup, they keep pushing each other away from themselves because of the illusion the Fake made."

"Indeed, it's reprehensible." Blake agreed. "Not to mention that there's a girl calling herself the school president, her name is Labyrs."

"Miss President 'Labyrs'...? Oh right, I do sense someone in the TV word and... I sense Team MAYJ in this world, too?" Rise called.

"Yeah. But Rise, just to be sure, the one who was talking over the PA isn't really you, correct?" Yang asked.

"Of course not! I'm not that big of a ditz!" Rise exclaimed. "I'm in the Announcement Room now. General Teddie was watching me, but he left, so I'm using this chance to contact you guys."

"I see. We've just arrived and fought our friends under false pretense." Weiss mentioned.

"I saw all that too. I'm glad you guys manage to work it out without seriously hurting them, but... I saw you stabbed Yosuke-senpai." Rise brought him up. "I get that you have some hostile crush on him, but wow."

"EXCUSE ME!? You have got to be joking!" Weiss stammered. "We were only acquainted during our childhood, but that's just it!" She fumed.

"Um... I think we're getting off track here..." Pyrrha interrupted while calming down Weiss. "We are trying to make our way to the Announcement Room. Are we on the right path from here?" She asked.

"Hmm... Yes, in fact it's almost down the hall and to the left, you shouldn't miss it." Rise surveyed. "Plus... there an unusual presence on the way, I think it's that Miss President girl you guys mentioned." She added.

"She's on the way there? Alright. Hang tight, we'll be right there." Ruby assured as she and the rest of the Beacon friends and to Naoto.

"Ok, he might come back soon, so I'm gonna go on radio silence." Rise informed.

"It seems this case is in good hands. Take care." Naoto assured as everyone nodded in response and walked out the room and continued onward.

They continued down the hall and discovered Labyrs sitting down next to the wall with a depressed expression. "Hey... Miss President." Ruby hollered to her as Labyrs looks back at them.

"Hey..." Labyrs sighed with a despondent tone.

"Are you okay? You were really expressive when we last saw you." Jaune asked.

Labyrs sighed in depression. "I'm the School President but no one's listn'ing and you guys'r fightin'. Why ain't anyone listenin'?" She questioned.

"... This school isn't a good place to start, in fact, this isn't a real school at all." Weiss reminded as Labyrs gave her a confuse look.

"At least you managed to win that position, I guess...?" Ruby congratulated. "So... do you remember your name by any chance?" Ruby asked as she bent her knees down to her level.

"My name?" Miss President repeated.

The Beacon Students heard about that name Labyrs from Team MAYJ, but she might not remember. They thought to take it slow. "Yeah, I mean, we can't call you 'Miss President' forever right?"

"Wouldn't your name be labeled on posters around the school? During the elections or something?" Blake asked as Labyrs clams up.

"My name... I don't know. I can't remember at all..." She answered, taking the students by surprise. "Ever since Teddie guy help me escape that fight earlier, I've been trying all this time... but I can't even remember what I was doing before now..." She told them.

"You were... inflicted with Amnesia?" Ren realized.

"I guess so... I completely forgot that I must have a real name too, until you guys asked me about it..." She added.

"Is... your name Labrys? I heard from some people that that is your name." Ruby knelt down to her.

"Lab... rys...? Augh!" Miss President, named Labrys, repeated, followed her wincing. She pressed her hands on her head in pain.

"Whoa, Labrys?!" Ruby stuttered as they both got up

"No... No, I don't want to do that again!" Labrys exclaimed in terror as she ran off.

"Wha, hey wait! Labrys!" Ruby called out as she tries to catch her, only to end up hitting another invisible wall. "OW!"

"Ruby- Oh wait..." Weiss gasped but then realized that another invisible wall was erected between them and Ruby.

"Unless it's just me, you guys are beary persistent compared to Sensei and the others." General Teddie grunted as he appeared on a nearby TV screen.

"It's only to you!" Ruby countered. "So what are you doing with Labrys?"

"Aww, how nice of you to worry about someone else. But you can't let your guard down in this next battle. C'mon, bring out the next challenger!" Teddie declared as a puff of smoke appeared in the hallway.

"We beaten everyone we know from the Investigation Team, now it all leaves the leader of the group, which is..." Ruby thought as a grey-haired boy appeared out of the smoke running into view.

"NANAKO!" Yu exclaimed out of nowhere.

"That's the first thing you say?" Ruby sighed.

"Ah, I thought so. And... 'Sister-Complex Kingpin,' just like the others." Weiss assumed.

Ruby agreed, recalling how worry Nanako was when Ruby's group started to look for the Investigation Team. "Ah well, Nanako always seemed precious to him, so-"

"Ruby-chan. It's true that this is a battle you all long desired. But I have something to say first." Yu stated with a stern expression to everyone of the Beacon Students.

"What we long desired...?" Blake repeated. "We've been hearing that a lot..."

"I thought that there would be no reason for us to fight... until now!" Yu exclaimed as he point his weapon at Ruby with anger. "How dare you, calling her Nanako in that disrespectful way!?" He shouted.

"Ack! I-I'm sorry!" Ruby staggered and apologized. "Wait, then how am I supposed to address Nanako then!?

"Address her as Nanako-'san'! Always add honorifics!" Yu yelled with fury in his tone.

"O-OKAY! Okay! Nanako-san, I get it!" Ruby stated. "Holy cats, he looks like he's ready kill someone!" She thought while seeing Yu's bloodshot eyes. "L-Look, just listen! Nanako... san... aside for a moment, did you seen someone besides us here? She can't use a Persona, so we thought maybe she was dropped in this.. world... Um, Yu?" As the young huntress tries to explain her situation, Yu is still hung up on something else.

Yu immediate swings away at Ruby with his weapon at Ruby with her flinching in moving aside in response. "Why would you forget Nanako!?" He questioned.

"That's ridiculous! I mean c'mon, Nanako... uh... san, really like you no matter what! I'm mean, she's always tells us how much of a nice big brother you are and how cool you are too! Right guys?" Ruby assured as she turns back to see her friends agreeing. But when she turns to face Yu again, he rushes at her with a strike. "Ack!" She manages to dodge a simple swing with his Katana.

"Shut... up!" Yu roared. "You 'always' talk to Nanako? Why? Where? What do you mean by 'always'? What was the precise date and time when you spoke to her!?" He questioned vigorously.

"Aaahhh! I don't know! I'm sorry! I was kidding!" Ruby panicked with dodging several swing at her.

"What? Kidding...!? You were lying!? Are you saying that Nanako doesn't like me!? That she doesn't think I'm nice or cool at all!?" Yu questioned frantically.

"How would I know!?" Ruby panickily retorted.

"Wow, he's really hung up on that." Yang snickered.

"We're not going to get anywhere with him constantly talking about Nanako." Weiss sighed. "Ruby, just take him out and be done with this, for heaven's sake!"

"Right, illusion. I'm not gonna hold back... I know you can take it." Ruby sighed as she drew Crescent Rose. "I am so sorry Nanako..." She sighed and began to blurted out: "Ha! That Nanako, a real idiot if you ask me!"

"Ruby!" Yang said with disappointment. The others sweat-dropped to hear Ruby's taunt.

"That is it! You life is forfeit!" Yu declared as he immediately summoned Izanagi.

*Reach out for the Truth -Arena ver.-

"Ohh boy, Soma!" Ruby summoned her Persona as their weapons connected at each other. The Personas clashed at each other as they then pushed each other away with blasting each other's weakness of wind and lightning. Ruby then propelled herself at Yu as he readied himself for a counter-attack, clashing in a deadlock. "Is that a new Katana? Looks so brand new!" Ruby stated as she took a look at Yu's weapon. He mentioned his weapon broke a couple months ago.

"Your questions is of no concern! You will pay for mocking Nanako!" Yu exclaimed as he disregard Ruby's compliment.

"Wow, you gotta love Sensei's bloodlust! Which leave me to announce their titles, by the way!" General Teddie chuckled as a TV screen changes to static.

"A decent eye for junkfood, a junkie for guns and nothing else! The Cookie-addict Weapons Otaku; Ruby Rose vs. the Sister-complex Kingpin of Steel; Yu Narukami!" The narrator declared.

"What's an Otaku!?" Ruby questioned as she stumbled off guard from Yu forcing her back as his Persona rushed for a diving Swift Strike at Soma. Yu then rushed in and swung away at Ruby as she managed to propel herself away from her opponent. However, Yu didn't stop his assault, swinging his weapon with a Big Gamble, slicing upwards with static from his katana. Not only that it broke Ruby's guard, but stunned her with electricity, following by her attacker, diving downwards with a Raging Lion strike

"WOW, a powerful three-hit combo! That's my Senpai for ya'! Very ruthless!" Rise cheered.

"Damn, he's pulling all the stop on her! Can she really beat him like this?" Jaune wondered with concern.

"She has to, if we compare their combat between Grimms and Shadows, Ruby should have the advantage, but..." Pyrrha noted as they watch Yu pressing his assault towards Ruby until she tripped over her cape.

"Argh, not again!" Ruby grunted as she notices her opponent overshadow her.

"You may be my cousin, but you will never be compared anywhere near Nanako's cuteness!" Yu shout as he raised his weapon up high, ready to strike downwards. But some reason, he stalled.

"!" This prompt Ruby to pull the trigger on Crescent Rose and propelled her away from the falling blade, as it crashes down onto the floor, creating a big cut on floor. "Garu!" Ruby casts a blast of wind as it struck Yu, tumbling afterwards "Counter attack!" She declared as she gained the momentum, throwing several jabs with the butt of her weapon and delivered a combo of slices on Yu followed by propelling pass her opponent with a heavy slice on the off-balanced target.

Yu, however, did not take this lying down and summoned his Persona, causing Ruby to halt in her tracks. Yu and Izanagi use another Swift Strike at Ruby, but the young huntress jumped over the attack and followed-up with a Buzzsaw Blast, spinning herself forward with her weapon like a sawblade. Suddenly the sawblade blur disappeared as Ruby's Crescent Rose was caught Yu's Katana with her weapon's rifle barrel was pointed blank at his face. "Gotcha-!" Ruby exclaimed but Yu swatted Crescent Rose's barrel away with his open hand they both swung their weapons at each other, only to parry each other's weapons.

The Beacon student continue to watch as their silver-eyed friends clash. "This is... sight to be hold..." Ren stated with awe.

"I'm impressed. Narukami seems to know how to react quickly to Ruby's attacks. She's all over the place but he can still hold his ground." Weiss observed.

"No way! Ruby is fast and can maneuver around her targets. There's no way he can hit her!" Yang denied.

"Don't be so sure. If we considered what has been happening here, I don't believe that this counts." Jaune assumed as he focused on the duel.

"Right... so they're just holding back?" Nora guessed.

"Yeah, remember that Yu had the advantage when Ruby was on the ground? HE wouldn't stall if he was serious." Jaune explained.

"This is heating very badly! Why is it so hard for them to kill each other!?" General Teddie complained.

Ruby casts Sukukaja to boost her speed as she tried to nip her strikes at Yu, but even Yu manages to hold off her attacks with Rakukaja, building up his defenses. This kept going until Yu manages to dodge Ruby's attack but then manages to grab her hood and yanked her down. "Gak!" Ruby coughed as she almost choked.

"ZIODYNE!" Yu shouted as he summoned Izanagi and casted a blast of lightning downwards on Ruby.

"RUBY!" Yang shouted as some of the others gasped.

"Uh oh...! AAAAAHHHHH!" Ruby screamed as the blast of lightning slammed the downed Huntress and a blast of dust enveloped the area.

"Nononono! RUBY! Are you okay!?" Yang hollered to her, but when the dust settled her body disappeared. "Uh...?"

Everyone was baffled by her disappearance, even Yu. But General Teddie saw a silhouette behind the Huntsman. "Hey behind you!" General Teddie blurted out.

"Huh? Wha-" *Clang* A blunt object smacked Yu on his from behind, revealing to be Ruby unscathed from the lightning attack, using the blunt side of her weapon.

"Sorry Yu, but thanks for the opening!" Ruby thanked the dazed Persona User as she ready for one final strike, Ruby propelled herself at her opponent and finished of Yu by slicing the last of bits of his Aura as he fell down.

"GUUAH!" Yu gasped as he collapse on the ground, defeated.

Ruby heavily breathed as she lowered Crescent Rose. "Sure as hell, he brought more thunder than lightning..." Ruby commented.

"So fast..." General Teddie muttered as he staggered when the students pierce their gaze at the TV screen.

"He was the last one. Now we're coming for you, faker!" Ruby declared as she pointed her weapon at the screen with General Teddie.

"As bear-sistent as any other Huntsmen. To think you were able to beat Sensei, Young Sensei. Congratulations." General Teddie complimented.

"We've now beaten every capable competitors you gave us, I think it's time you owe us an audience?" Weiss suggested.

"Nrgh... Fine... we came this far." General Teddie grumbled. "But you better take good care of Miss President if you don't want her to come to harm..." He noted with a menacing grin, even his eyes glowed golden yellow once more as the TV screen turned off.

Afterwards the barrier disappeared and everyone regroup as they came to Yu's aid.

"Hey there... Yu okay?" Yang asked jokingly.

"Yang-tastic." Yu replied in response as he turns to Ruby. "How about you? You're not still crazily in love with Crescent Rose that you'd marry it, right?"

"What!? Wait, how would it even be possible to marry Crescent Rose?" Ruby questioned confoundedly.

"I don't know, you were constantly talked about Crescent Rose a lot and brought up cookies while you were at it. You were literally following your own title. The... 'Cookie-addict Weapons Otaku' or something?"

"Ehehehe... well, are weapons are an extension of ourselves after all..." Ruby agreed. "I mean, you were constantly brought up Nanako yourself too. Thinking that I could never replace her. You were all... 'overly protective' to her, just like your title." She explained.

"I never thought I'd sound the way you say it." Yu chuckled. "More importantly, what about Nanako and everyone else? Did you guys see them?"

"Ah, yeah, about that..." Jaune mentioned. They explained everything from arriving in Inaba and up until now. "... That and we just met Nanako earlier. She was wondering where you guys been since yesterday."

"I can't believe we were in here for a day now, we didn't notice." Yu muttered as he collects his thoughts. "That Fake Teddie said that he had Nanako, saying that she was waiting for me. Sorry, I had to make sure if whether Nanako was in the TV world or not, considering how dangerous the place is." He stated with a frown.

"You really cares for her." Ren sighed with relief.

"Thanks for letting me know. I guess I worried for nothing." Yu thanked them.

"On another note, I can't help but notice... Did you reforged your weapon?" Ruby pointed to Yu's Katana. The last time they heard that his Raijin broke in half.

"Yeah, I had to reinforce the metal blade so it won't break easily again." Yu explained as they see his reforged Katana looking good as new. "Anyways it seems that you guys are our only hope to solve this case. Can I trust you with this task?" He requested.

"You got it. Also Nanako said that she and her dad were gonna invite us over for dinner." Ruby mentioned.

"Oh yeah, that was the plan! Well, we'll be waiting when you guys are done, okay?" Yu acknowledge as they continued down the hallway.

They turned around to the left of the hallway and arrived upon the door to the Announcement Room, they also see Labrys next to the door. "Labrys!" Ruby called out to her Labrys flinched as she she turned to the Beacon Students.

"Geez, you startled me!" Labrys exclaimed.

"Um... well... you did ran off. We were worried." Jaune said with concern.

"Can you please not run off again? We had to walk all over this school to get to the Announcement Room!" Weiss demanded.

"And to fight our friends to get here..." Ren added.

"... Sorry." Labrys apologized. "It must of been tough, forcing to fight your friends, huh...?" She mentioned. The students looked to each other in silence about the topic. "S-Sorry, you guys don't hafta answer.

"Well... we would've avoid fighting each other if we could." Yang answered.

"You mean they won't hate you after the fight? Or... you think they'll understand that you don't really wanna fight?"" Labrys replied with a question.

"Um... Yeah, we're still friends. We would know them enough that they wouldn't talk crap about us." Nora assured.

"Probably both, maybe." Yang assumed. But we do know that they didn't wanted this either."

"We, as Huntsmen and Huntresses, we only fight to protect the weak and the innocent instead of promoting the violence over no reason." Pyrrha assured.

"What if... you had to kill each other?" Labrys asked with a gloomy face. Her questioned shocked.

"What!?" Some of them exclaimed at the same time.

"Haha, sorry, that was probably over the line... I don't know why I said that..." Labrys laughed weakly.

"We wouldn't let it happened." Ruby assured.

"Yeah, were not THAT desperate." Jaune shook his head in agreement.

"Anyways... we're all going inside right?" Weiss reminded them.

"It's time we settle this." Blake declared with everyone drawing their weapons as Ruby opens the door to the Announcment Room.

As the group enters the room, it was dark and eerily quiet. "Um... hello?" Ruby called into the darkness.

"Huh? Ruby-chan!?" The familiar voice of Rise responded. "Be careful! He's here!"

Suddenly, the door to the Announcement Room slammed shut, closed behind them much to the student's surprise. "Wh-What the hell!?" Nora gasped.

The students tried to reach for their scrolls to emit some light source until a mysterious voice echoed in the room.

"I can't believe you've all made it this far... They repeatedly suffered the pain of fighting their friends, but they still didn't lose heart..." The Mysterious voice scoffed.

Then the light went to reveal the Announcement Room that looks more of a studio room with TV equipment on the scaffold behind the window.

They also found Rise on the floor nearby General Teddie standing gallantly. "Your tournament is over, you faker!" Ruby pointed Crescent Rose at the Fake Teddie.

"Unless you have some prize at the end of all this, you will start explaining yourself." Weiss demanded.

"Argh...! It's hard for me to manipulate you lot into killing them. I thought you huntsmen were all into killing." General Teddie growled.

"That isn't what being a huntsman is all about. We train and fight to protect people." Ruby reprimanded

"Seriously, we only met them for a least a half the year, and they're pretty cool." Yang agreed, referring to the Investigation Team.

"We know that you're using some ability to distort our surroundings. Our friends would never say these these things." Jaune added.

"And you still haven't answered our question. Who are you?" Blake questioned.

"Hahahahaha! You lot still can't tell? Seriously, the level of intelligence around here...!" General Teddie laughed as he gave a skewed grin. "Fine, then. Here... Get a good look!" He growled as black smoke enveloped him.

He smiled wickedly with his golden eye pointed at them a black liquid leaked out of gaps of zippers and suddenly the black liquid burst open and consumed the costume and morphed into a gooey-like orb. Suddenly a bright light flash afterwards and the students covered their eyes.

Once the light dies out Ruby opens her eyes to see who General Teddie was. "What the...?" She gasped.

Everyone else opens their eyes as well, to see who the culprit is; a mechanical maiden with pale skin, very long blueish gray hair tied into a ponytail and piercing red eyes, dressed in Yasogami High's summer uniform which covers some parts of her mechanical body, and wears a head piece which resembles a medieval helmet.

Next thing they see is that a pair of mechanical wings detaches off from her back as its pole extends of to become a form of weapon, a large battle axe, which also double as attachable-thrusters. She grabs the axe and lowers it down as calmly and maliciously grins at them with her golden eyes gleaming.

"I am a shadow, the true self..." Labrys's Shadow declared.

"That's... my face..." Labrys stuttered.

"Hey... isn't that...?" Jaune gasped upon seeing another Labrys.

"Yeah, this isn't good." Ruby nodded.

"Well...? You must remember now!" Shadow Labrys goaded towards her real self.

"No...! I'm not like that...!" Labrys staggered in fear.

"W-Wait! Labrys, calm down!" Ruby warned. "It's just your Shadow! It only looks like a twisted version of you to agitate you even more!"

"No, no...!" Labrys stuttered in with building anxiety. Everyone was trying to calm her down, but she couldn't hear them as she shook her head in denial.

"H-Hey! Labrys, calm down! It's just your own Shadow. She's just trying to agitate you!" Jaune tried to reassure her. "It's-

"... It's an illusion." Shadow Labrys interjected. "Isn't that what you lot thought when you fought your friends? Your senses were being deceived... warping what you saw, twisting what you heard."

"That's how you made my senpai fight each other! Is that your power!?" Rise gasped.

"That might've been a nasty semblance if it came to that..." Yang abhor the idea.

"Not just mine... It's actually our power. Isn't that so... me?" Shadow Labrys smiled wickedly.

The students still uncertain to what she's saying and turned to the original Labrys who was lost for words. "No... I'm not like you. I'm human..." She stuttered as she crouches down.

It all changes when her Shadow snaps her fingers. Suddenly, something like TV static flashes all over Labrys. Once the static cleared it revealed that Labrys changed into a mechanical form much like her Shadow self. Labrys cries out and tries to cover her ears, but when she does, the sound of metal grinding against metal accompanies her movement.

"L-Labrys...?" Ruby muttered as her voice tries to reach her.

"No way... she's... and android...?" Weiss said with awe.

"That means... her Shadow isn't some fictional fantasy version, that's her... 'True self'...!" Blake realized.

"She was trying to look... so that's who Minato was looking for..." Pyrrha realized.

"No...! I'm... I'm human!" Labrys shouted out in denial.

"Haha, you still believe that about yourself!? No human can do that... and you know it." Shadow Labrys mocked her real self and pointed to the students.

"R-Ruby... chan." Labrys stuttered as she looks at her.

"Labrys... calm down! It's okay! She's just trying to mess your head." Ruby stated with a stern expression.

"Ahahaha!" Shadow Labrys burst in laughter. "That's some bullshit I'm hearing. She's just saying what you wanted to hear. I know you're colluding with the Kirijo Group in seizing her. I ain't about to let you!"

"Wait, what about the Kirijo Group?" Weiss questioned.

"I'm sick of that place... I'm going to be free! Isn't that right, 'me'? Won't that be better than letting the Kirijo Group capture you again!?" She taunted her real self once more.

"Kirijo... capture... I..." Labrys blankly repeats the Shadow's words as she turns to the students with her eyes filled with desperation. "I... wasn't human."

The Beacon students were speechless in response. "Labrys..." Ruby grits her teeth.

"I won't be caged! I will take my freedom!" Shadow Labrys declared. The Shadow's arm suddenly shoots out across the room. It's connected t her by a long chain and it stretches towards Labrys.

It almost catches Miss President until Ruby raises Crescent Rose in Labrys's defense. "Stop it!" Ruby demanded as the chained arm caught the scythe instead.

"So you wanna try protecting her, huh? Have it your way!" Shadow Labrys flung her chain arm and send Ruby, holding Crescent Rose firmly and tossed her away from the rest of the group.

"Ruby!" Yang gasped.

"Tryin' to protect a fraud who can't accept herself. I'll show you the suffering I had to endure. Bring on the ring!" Shadow Labrys snapped her fingers.

"N-No...! I'm not-" Labrys muttered in horror.

Suddenly, four metal rods shot lightning beams towards the center of the room, creating an bright orb as it expanded as it passed through Ruby and Shadow Labrys. "Crap, get back!" Jaune alerted as Yang and Nora immediately carried the fearful Labrys. Once the electric wall fenced off Ruby from everyone, she turned to face Shadow Labyrs. "Pft, you know you'll die if you continue this farce. Admit it, you were surprised who my real self was like, huh?" Shadow Labrys gloated.

"Yeah, I was! But what does that have to do with what she is!?" Ruby questioned back.

"Hmph! You seriously have know idea what we've been through. Don't start thinking that making friends with machines is freakin' commonplace. Havin' to become lab rats for their projects whatsoever, making us destroy each other, my sister units!" Shadow Labrys exclaimed as some TVs flickered on to show what the Shadow meant.

"No... Nooo!" Labrys staggered as she tries to cover her ears.

"What the heck...!?" Yang stuttered with her mouth open, while she and the rest of the students watched.

The TV show everything in first-person view who they believe that was Labrys behind the screen. Labrys's experience and life was laid bare, showing her being experimented through combat efficiency and mental evaluations, even watching her reluctantly refusal to destroy her sister units. Regardless, she was forced to destroy every other mechanical maidens that she was subjected to. Having to destroy her sister units resulting extreme trauma.

"You'll never understand. You only believe you do because you all had each other." Shadow Labrys stated as a black aura partially envelopes her body. "And I still need her... so I can become myself." She declared as she slams the pommel of her axe onto the ground as the black aura enveloping her disperses.

Soon after the black aura faded, the studio light fixtures on the other side of the Announcement Room began to turn off until the students couldn't see what's behind the window.

Followed by a few seconds of silence, they heard a fire erupting from what sounds like a furnace.

"Are... are those body parts!?" Jaune gasped in horror.

As Jaune exclaimed, they saw furnace with what looks like mechanical body parts being conveyed into a furnace, a hatch closed down with some body parts falling out, and then the fire grew larger to lit up the room and the light fixtures lit up in a sickly red light to see more body parts hanging on hooks in more conveyer belts along with more furnaces nearby.

"Wh-What's going on!?" Ruby muttered as she gazes through the window, seeing what looks like body parts being toss in a fire-lit garbage dump. A strong chill went up their spines.

"This isn't the Announcement Room anymore..." Ren muttered.

"Surprised?" Shadow Labrys laughed as the student faces back to the Shadow as her wicked smile turned to grim. "I wish I could've made them feel my pain... What it's like having to murder one another...! That sadness and pain and anguish... Everything went back, and I was always left alone! I'm a weapon! A machine made only to fight! No human can understand my suffering...!" Shadow Labrys exclaimed angrily.

"That's not-!" Ruby understood a thing or two that reminded her about Penny. But when she tried to refute, Labrys retorted in denial.

"Stop... I've have enough! I'm human! I'm not like that!" Labrys shouted.

"Not good, if this keeps up, her Shadow will get stronger!" Weiss thought as she tries to think of a way out of this situation.

"You're still clinging to that? Just take a look at what you really are! Look at your arms your legs! Everything about you ain't human at all" Shadow Labrys exclaimed as nearby TV screens lit up again, showing Labrys and her body at every angle, all showing her mechanical parts on her.

Labrys collapses as she covers her ears "You're lying... this isn't real... I'm not a machine... You're...!"

Ruby: "Labrys! Wait-"

"YOU'RE NOT ME!" Labrys exclaimed as a dead silence pierces the room.

I'm gonna end this chapter here. Sorry about the terribly long wait, my jobs required me to be more active than working on a computer.

Plus new games were coming out around June and July, so I couldn't type as much. How do you guys think of Genshin Impact?

Mostly what slowed my progress was the finale of Vol. 8. Seeing how bad it went down with Penny, I'm definitely gonna wound Teddie for this, given their pairing.

Despit being my 3rd volume, this one is likely my longest one out of the RWBY volumes, so I thank you guys for following me and I may take long for another chapter to come out.

Stay healthy!

Omake Skit time!

Cool as Coco-senpai!

In a classroom at Beacon Academy, Yu, Makoto, and Akira, and Kanji were waiting for Junpei, saying he wanted to talk to them.

"Nrg... The hell's takin' him this long?" Kanji grunted

"Is he coming?" Akira asked.

"It must be important if he wanted to talk to the four of us... but to take this long?" Yu assumed.

"Nah, he's just wanted to surprise us. He's hiding behind the teacher's desk." Makoto pointed to where Junpei was hiding.

"Oh come on, I thought it be funny!" Junpei groaned as he popped his head up. "Anyways you guys are here. We represent the coolest and most highly revered Senpai that hailed from the Kingdom of the Rising Sun on this campus!" He boasted as the leaders.

"Kanji, I hear you're really popular because have Risette in your group, no doubt you got people trying to get on your good side." Junpei complimented.

"No, I got frickin' death threats from her so-called #1 fans.

"Yu, your leadership is top-notch and you got girls in your group who madly in love you... I think, and you're funny enough for them to hang out with you."

"I-Is it because I ate my cousin's science project? I didn't think that would get out..." Yu muttered at his dense oblivious.

"Akira, you were almost convicted with a criminal record and got out a free man, lots of girls here have the hots for you."

"They'll taste my neutral special." Akira commented as he checked his glasses.

"And Makoto-"

"I don't care. You know me." Makoto stated plainly.

"Okay, point taken." Junpei nodded. "And of course there is me, the coolest person of them all." He boasted.

No one said anything as crickets noises rung the air... until Akira took his phone out to shut off his alarm. "Sorry." He apologizes as the room finally went quiet.

"So... what's the problem?" Yu asked.

"There's a student in Beacon so relentlessly cool, we may lose everything." Junpei warned.

"A student like us? You're gonna have to more specific." Akira added.

"I mean not just a student." Junpei stated as his got close to his friends. "A Senpai!"

"... Wait, you guys ARE my senpais." Kanji mentioned.

"No, I mean... a Senpai from Vale!" Junpei clarified as he got closed to their faces again.

"Personal space, man." Makoto said.

Coco walk through the school campus, to where ever she was going. Even Sun and Teddie were saying hi while riding a skateboard and roller-skates respectively.

"Coco-chan, you're back!" Teddie greeted.

"How was your vacation?" Sun asked as they rolled around her.

"Oh, you know... bought some clothes, broke some girls hearts... heads up." Coco warned as Teddie tripped on some rock on the ground and Sun tripped afterwards. Soon after, Coco took Sun's skateboard for a run as she passed the Persona Protagonists Makoto, Yu, and Akira along with Junpei and Kanji.

"Dude... that's badass!" Kanji gasped with amazement.

"Huh... I've been told I was callous in most of my life... But she definitely got my attention." Makoto stated as his eyes lit up.

"Honestly, I don't see how this is our problem." Kanji neutrally stated unitl...

"HEY EVERYONE! COCO's BACK!" Ruby exclaimed cheerfully as every known friend of theirs were excited to see Coco again, literally everyone as they lift her up with joy.

Kanji "... Well shit. She popular...!"

"Like I said, we've got a problem. Now- wait..." Junpei turn to his to continue his explanation as he immediately realizes that the leader protagonist were not with them.

"Hurry! We must perform a social link with her!" Yu demanded as he chases after Coco.

"I gotta establish a confidant!" Akira agreed.

"We'll see you guys later!" Makoto waved back to Junpei and Kanji as he chases after them, leaving both Junpei and Kanji behind.

"... Not exactly as I hoped this goes." Kanji muttered.

"Oof... fans, am I right?" Coco commented as the two guys jumped with surprise when they turned around to see her. "Up top!" She high-five Kanji and went to do a low-five with Junpei. "Down low!" But when Junpei tried it, Coco retracted her hand away, making the Tiger Faunus miss. "Aw, too slow." She chuckled while walking away.

Junpei looked at his shivering hand, bewilder what just happened. "... So that what it feels like?" He questioned himself and his entire existence.
