(It has come to my attention that my character Dakota, shares his name another character in Percy Jackson, the son of Bacchus, so I changed the name to Damion. If you missed this, I wrote it down where he is mentioned as well, so don't worry about it.
Before we start this chapter I thought I would do another shout-out. So yeah, here are some people that have been reviewing (and I thank you for doing so)

Task Force Takedown
Vivian POV:
Previously:
"Are you going to go to the information department? Sage would be a big help," Mariya recommended. Vivian let out a sigh.
"I guess I will".
Present:
Vivian made her way down the winding hallways, into the information department, a small frown on her face. She had thought that she would have been able to find this mysterious Karma all by herself, but it seemed that it wasn't the case. 'Sometimes I feel so useless' she thought to herself, as she opened the door.
Vivian walked inside and took in the usual sight of the Info Department. The place was crowded, with a lot of people walking around, moving documents all over the place. The info department was almost always busy, but that was understandable seeing as they had one of the hardest jobs. They helped find planets in need and created mission briefings so that Vivan knew what was going on, so she could get people on the case.
Vivian smiled, proud that they were working so hard.
"Hello princess," said a voice behind her. Vivian jumped in surprise, before turning to face the owner of the voice. Right in front of her was Sage, the head of the info department. Sage was gently floating upside down, making his face level with hers. He smiled, and turned right side up, crossing his feet together as he hovered.
"What can this humble servant do for you?" he asked pretending to boq\w. Vivan sighed. Sage's boundless energy could make anyone feel tired. She looked up at the head of the information department. Sage had glowing blue eyes, as well as glowing blue hair. He had pale blue skin and very elvish features. He wasn't the tallest person, but his ability to float made it noticeable, seeing as hovering was his main means of transportation.
"Hello Sage, I was wondering if you could do a background check on someone for me," Vivian asked. Sage grinned wider if that was even possible.
"Someone you got your interest princess," Sage asked.
"As a matter of fact, yes," Vivian said. Sage nodded his head in understanding, before floating away.
"Follow me," Sage told her, hovering up and down as he headed to his location. Vivian passed countless workers researching different planets, who all waved at her as she passed. Vivan made sure to do the same, waving back with a smile. They finally arrived at a screen that was attached to a wall. Sage raised his hand, and a keyboard appeared.
"So, who are we looking for? What do they look like? Where did they come from, what do you got?" Sage asked all at once. Vivian hesitated.
"He calls himself Karma," she started. Sage typed that into his keyboard.
"And?" he asked.
"His first known appearance is on an Elven Planet, Widow's Peak".
"Ok, what else?"
"..."
Sage stopped typing.
"That's all," he asked in disbelief. Vivian nodded. Sage sighed and continued to type on his keyboard.
"I don't know if I will be able to find him, but I will try," he told her. Vivian nodded.
"Thanks, Sage," Vivian said. Sage smiled.
"No problem princess".
Months passed, and the duties as princess definitely kept Vivian busy. The mysterious hero did not leave her mind though. On the contrary, he seemed to come up very often. And for good reason.
The whole reason Vivian did what she did was that she had seen first hand the cruelties of the universe. Being in a place of power allowed her to help those less fortunate than her. With her position, she decided that she could make a change, and make a change she did. Vivian knew that a lot of her influence had to do with being Chaos' daughter, but she would use all tools at her disposal and that just happened to be one of them.
People that helped the universe, that used their power for good, were the type of people that Vivian wanted to recruit. The only problem was that this specific one is very hard to find, and was somehow bouncing from place to place with no records of travel.
"Uuugh," Vivan mumbled under her breath, gently putting her head on the wall. She was going crazy thinking about the mysterious hero, and Sage still hadn't reported anything to her, so still hadn't found him yet. Vivian took her head off the wall and started to walk down the hallway, lost in her thoughts. She spotted Mariya going through some paperwork and decided to go talk to her.
"Hello my faithful commander," Vivian said, feigning seriousness. Mariya looked up from her work and shook her head in exasperation.
"Hello princess," Mariya answered, before turning back to her work.
"Why won't you stop calling me that?" Vivian asked with a pout. Mariya smiled.
"Whatever do you mean princess?"
Vivan huffed.
"Still no luck with Karma?" Mariya asked, causing Vivan to growl with frustration.
"Sage still hasn't found anything," she said.
"Do you think he is hiding?" Mariya asked.
"I'm not sure, but I hope not. I mean he didn't do anything bad, I just want to talk to him. And it's not like we don't have any idea where he is. He just changes locations too much, and we have no way to know where he will appear next. We don't know how he is moving," Vivian ranted. Mariya took it in stride, continuing with her work.
"Well Vivi, as much as I love talking to you, I have some paperwork I need to finish and to talk with my sector," Mariya said, organizing her papers.
"Is that any way to talk to your princess," Vivian asked.
"Oh, so now you're a princess?" Mariya questioned, smirking.
"Ah yes, you and your verbal skills," Vivian praised sarcastically, but it made Mariya smile anyway.
"Well, the next time you want to go on a date with Damion (just in case you didn't read the A/N, Damion is Dakota. I changed the name because I remembered there was someone else named Dakota in Percy Jackson) let me know so I can open up your schedules," Vivian said, waving goodbye. Mariya stuttered, a purple blush forming, as she tried to hide her face with her papers.
'Always get the last word in' Vivian thought to herself, as she walked away. As she turned around a corner, she became face to face with a familiar floating figure.
"Hey princess," Sage said, floating in front of her. His smile was contagious.
Vivian hadn't seen Sage in a while. He had been crammed in the Info Department, trying to find Karma. He seemed upset about how hard it was to find Karma and had his best workers that were not already working on the case.
"I found him". Vivian's grin grew.
"You did?" she asked. Sage smiled and beckoned Vivian to follow him.
As they reached the Info department, Sage pulled up a screen.
"For a year, Mr. Hard-to-find has been resting on the planet Zeplon. He bought a house and all. It seems he has bought the house temporarily though, so I suggest we go to retrieve him as fast as possible". Vivian nodded, holding up one of her fingers. A mist started to protrude from it, and a glowing orange dot flew out of the mist.
"Commander 06, Ashen. Send an elite task force to mission room 03 immediately for a retrieval mission," Vivian said to the orange dot.
"Roger," said Ashen's voice from the dot, and the mist disappeared, along with the dot.
"Thanks, Sage, I owe you one," Vivian said, leaving the info department.
Three figures stood in the mission debriefing room. One of the figures was a short male with light blue skin and small dots all over his body. He had windswept dark-blue hair, with dark eyes. He tapped his toes impatiently, looking all over the room.
"Qor, stop that tapping," a bigger woman said. She was easily larger than the aforementioned male, now known as Qor. She had small balls lining her belt, and a large club strapped onto her back. She had dark red hair and molten red eyes.
"I'm sorry Reeno, I'm just excited, a mission directly from the princess," Qor said, tapping his feet faster.
"What do you think we are going to be retrieving," the last occupant in the room asked. She was in the middle of the other two in terms of height and had long, gooey, green hair. The slime was suspended, not falling to the floor. The girl herself had green eyes and a thin frame.
"I hope we're retrieving something strong," Reeno said with a grunt. The last girl smiled.
"Maybe". At that moment, the door opened, and Vivian walked in, a clipboard in her hand.
"Hello Task Force 02, Sector 6, nice to meet you," Vivian said smiling. Qor looked like he was going to explode. He before bowing his head, and the other two followed his lead. As their heads went back up, the green girl spoke.
"Nice to meet you," she said smiling.
"You must be Melonine," Vivian turned to the other two, "and Reeno, and Qor, right?" Vivian asked. The three nodded their heads.
"Well then, let's get to business". Vivian put her clipboard down on the table in front of her.
"Here is who you will be retrieving. He calls himself Karma. Has been helping planets all around the universe. We wanted to bring him in, and hopefully recruit him. We don't know his intentions or really anything about him, so be cautious, but don't instigate a fight," Vivian told them. The three nodded.
"Well then, I hope for your success," Vivian said, getting up.
"Yes Princess!" the trio said together.
Karma POV:
Karma yawned, as he carried his groceries back to his cabin. It had been about a year since he had gotten the impurity sword, and true to his word, Karma had decided to take a break, and settle down for a little.
Having a lot of free time, Karma trained with his two new swords. The powers of the impurity sword weren't that hard to use, seeing as he was used to using the purity swords, but using both powers at the same time was what was tricky. The powers combated each other. Purity and Impurity, polar opposites.
While the Purity sword could heal, the Impurity sword could do the opposite. The liquid produced by the sword could poison, and Karma really needed to learn how to control that. He didn't want to accidentally poison anybody.
He was still getting used to his abilities, and the newfound power. It wasn't as if Karma was power-hungry. He knew the dangers of having too much power. He also knew that you needed the power to protect those that you love. Although Karma trained and relaxed, he also traveled.
He had visited Aubree at Willow's Valley, to see how she was doing. Her Queenly duties were keeping her busy, but with good reason. Widow's Valley was a lot larger than it was when he was there originally. He guessed that good royalty really changed the place. Different elves from different parts of the planet, or different planets entirely, were going to live there. Aubree fussed about all of the work, but you could tell she enjoyed what she did.
Karma was hailed a hero there as well, which was great and all, but it could get annoying. Apparently, the tale of how he and Aubree slew the old King Asmodeus was now famous and told everywhere, and he couldn't go anywhere without being recognized. Widow's Valley was big, and getting bigger fast, but that didn't stop the word of him arriving to reach everyone's ears.
For the most part, Karma hung out with Aubree and helped her with her duties, and with this time he got to observe her. He noticed that Aubree was loved by almost all of the citizens, and was very popular. He was happy that the power didn't go to her head, and was still acting like the same elf he had known.
Another thing that he noticed was that she side-eyed one elf, in particular, a lot, and she thought he didn't notice when she would stare at the elf, whose name was apparently Lalin, for prolonged periods of time. Karma started to think that Aubree might have a romantic interest in Lalin but decided to say nothing. He didn't know if it was true, and it would be a lot more fun to watch it play out as a spectator.
Other than that trip, he didn't move around a lot. He went to a few planets here and there but didn't do a whole lot.
On one of the planets he went to, there was a tavern he had entered, and in it, there was a customer was talking about a mysterious figure that traveled from planet to planet gathering treasure, and incidentally, that figure was named "Karma". It shouldn't have surprised him. He was doing things that no one had done before, so of course, word would start to spread. He just hoped it didn't spread to the wrong ears.
Karma snapped out of his thoughts as he neared his cabin. He set his groceries down on the porch and was about to enter when he heard a noise. He stopped, and as a precaution spread his senses out to cover the house.
'There!' Karma thought, as he sensed three people inside his cabin. All three of them were armed. Karma wasn't sure why they were here, but if they were here to fight, Karma would be prepared. One new trick he had learned, as to be able to dissolve items in a vapor, that would surround his body. When he wanted to use them, he could just pull them out of the vapor. If that wasn't a useful trick, karma didn't know what was.
Karma walked inside the cabin, feigning ignorance as he set down his groceries, and moved to put things up. He waited for the people to say anything, but they didn't, so Karma waited longer.
"Karma," a voice said suddenly. Karma looked over to the biggest figure. Although it was hard to tell, it seemed to be a she. She had small balls over her belt and a big club behind her.
'I really don't want to be on the receiving end of that' Karma thought to himself.
"Yes?" he asked.
"At the request of the Abyssal Command, we were sent here to-" the woman froze midsentence
Karma looked toward her confused, and the other two people in the room seemed to have as much of an idea as he had on what was going on.
"Reeno, are you ok?" the small man asked, waving his hand in front of Reeno.
"Melonine do you know what is happening?" he asked the other girl.
"I don't know Qor, do you thi-" the other girl stopped talking, with the same blank face as Reeno. Before Qor could say anything, his face took over the same expression.
All three of them turned to stare at Karma, and calling it unnerving would be an understatement.
"Are you guys ok?" Karma asked, reaching to the vapor holding his swords.
"At the request of the Abyssal Command you have been sentenced… to death!" Reeno yelled, grabbing her club and launching at Karma. He jumped out of the way, just in time for the club to smash his previous location, completely tearing up his counter.
"Oh come on," Karma complained, grabbing his swords. They started to glow.
The other two got into position, and Karma assessed his enemies. As fun as the universe was, you never knew what you were going to get when you fought someone, so he had to be cautious. The man, Qor, raised his arms to Karma, who just realized that they were covered in little dots. The dots began to spike up, and soon small quills were being shot at Karma, who quickly put up a water shield. While he blocked, the bigger girl, Reeno, charged at him again. Her club, which was made of rock, had cracks in it that started to glow red.
Karma jumped out of the way before Reeno smashed her club once again. This time, the impact was explosive, destroying everything in the immediate area. Qor continued to barrage him with continuous quills, and Karma had to dodge them while having to deal with a lumbering giant. He just had to hope that the other girl didn't...oh. The last girl, Melonine, had slimy hair that started to move around.
'Uh oh,' Karma thought and quickly vapor-traveled out of the cabin. He caught his step, as he looked at his home, as it melted to the ground.
"I spent good money on that?" Karma yelled at the cabin, as he watched his three assailants walk out of the cabin uninjured. He didn't know what the Abyssal Command was, but he really hoped that this was just a misunderstanding, and they didn't really want to kill him. That was wishful thinking though.
"What do you want?" Karma yelled, getting into battle position again.
"Your death," Qor responded. His voice was a little different than Karma remembered, but who was he to say. Maybe when he got into murdering mode, he changed his voice? The world worked in mysterious ways.
"Guess I won't feel guilty for doing this then," Karma said, before rushing toward the group. Melonine's hair shot at Karma, the acidic goo sizzling. Karma vapor traveled just before the goo hit him, getting him close to Qor, as he swung his swords. Qor's spots spiked out again, and he intercepted the swords, slashing at them with his thorns. Karma smiled, and the Impurity sword glowed, before blasting Qor away.
Karma celebrated in his mind, but quickly snapped out of it, as Reeno launched at him again. Karma barely missed her club, jumping into the air to avoid it, but it seemed that it wasn't a good idea, as Reeno grabbed one of the balls on her belt and launched it at him. Karma held up his swords to block, and the ball hit them, exploding on contact. Karma was blown back, hitting the ground hard.
"Ouch," Karma said, getting back up. Reeno was grinning a malicious smile, as Melonine calmly walked up to her. Reeno grabbed her club again and leaped toward Karma. Karma jumped out of the way as she smashed into the ground, and sliced at her. Reeno's skin was surprisingly strong, but that didn't stop his swords from doing some damage. Reeno yelled in frustration and hit Karma with her club, blowing him up and shooting him back. As he got back on his feet he felt a presence closing in, and threw up a shield just in time to intercept Qor from cutting him with his sharp sword-like hands.
Karma broke the shield and pointed a finger at Qor.
"Boom," he said, before releasing a steam bullet, shooting Qor back. Qor got back up and wiped the dust off of himself. Reeno and Qor looked to Karma, positioning their weapons, while Melonine looked from behind.
"Let's go," Karma called out, and the two rushed him. Karma dodged Reeno's explosive attacks as he fought Qor. He shot a steam bullet to stop Reeno, as he clocked Qor in the face with a protected fist. Qor stumbled back until Karma held both swords right in front of his face.
"Steam Slash: Harmonic Blast!" Karma called out. His swords had water form around the blade, with steam inside, before letting it loose, blasting Qor away. Qor smashed into the ruins of his cabin, rendering him unconscious. Karma jumped away again as Reeno smashed the spot he was standing in.
Melonine stepped up and walked towards Reeno. Her hair started to droop down until it was completely covering her body. The slime started to grow, and then grow until a huge slimy monster was standing in her place. Karma's eyes widened.
"Seriously?" he asked, looking at Reeno. She shrugged, grin still on her face, before grabbing more balls off of her belt, and chucking them at Karma.
Karma quickly dodged, spreading water over his blades, before rushing the girls once again. The slimy monster roared, before smashing one of its hands down on Karma. He dodged it again, and swung his swords, slicing off the monster's hand. The fallen goo burnt into the ground. Karma smiled. It might have been hard to combine the powers of the swords, and Karma still had a lot to learn about it, but he had come up with one move as he trained.
Karma put his swords together and concentrated. He jumped up solidifying the water vapor in the air to lift himself. He jumped to the slime monster, avoiding explosive projectiles as he leaped, he clenched his swords together. The water started to go out of the sword. The water grew into one enormous blade, that had both light and dark green water swirling around in it.
"Whale Impact!" Karma yelled, bringing the humongous sword down onto Melonine.
The slime monster roared as it was sliced in half, the blade cutting through cleanly. When the blade hit Melonine, it exploded, shooting the acidic slime everywhere. Melonine was knocked out on impact, and was sprawled out on the floor. Karma shot a smug look to Reeno.
Reeno yelled in anger and charged at Karma again. Karma vapor traveled out of the way right before she hit it, and before Reeon could react, he coated his fist in rapid spinning water and smashed his fist into her head. Reeno fell to the floor, and Karma dusted his fist off.
"Man, that was hard," Karma said, shaking his head. If the Abyssal Command had more people like these, he would be in trouble if they wanted him dead. However, the three there were acting pretty strange. The group changed their tune pretty fast, almost as if something...possessed them?
It didn't matter to him right now. He didn't kill them, and hopefully, they would wake up and come to their senses (if they were possessed at all). Plus, things tried to kill him all the time, what made this time any different?
Karma looked to his cabin or the remains of it at least. The house was in shambles, and part of it was on fire. The other parts had slime on them, or quills stuck in their wood. He sighed. Karma had some good memories there. It was the first house he had ever bought (he imagined buying his first house differently as a kid). He learned how to make some delicious (blue) alien cuisine, and learned some pretty cool things while he trained in space around the cabin.
"Goodbye house, I will miss you," Karma said, pretending to wipe a tear from his eyes.
He looked at his unconscious attackers and sighed as he dragged them next to each other. Once they were all next to each other, Karma made a quick protective bubble around them, making it so that when they woke up, it would evaporate. Karma looked to his cabin again.
'I guess this was the universe's sign to have me start adventuring again' Karma thought to himself.
He didn't have any specific goals right now, unlike when he left Willow's Valley, so he was unsure what to do. 'I guess I'll just explore until I find something interesting. Knowing my luck, I'll find some planet in danger of being destroyed on my first try' Karma thought jokingly. He started to run toward a large water source he knew a few miles away so he could use planetary vapor travel.
As Karma ran off, he didn't notice a hooded figure watching him from the shadows of the trees. The figure smiled, before walking off, and raising his hand. A portal formed in front of him and the man walked into it, leaving the forest, with a large grin on his face.
Vivan POV:
"They said it felt like someone took over your body?" Vivan asked, writing a report. Ashen nodded, holding his report.
"They said they were asking him to come with us when we were suddenly kicked out of our own bodies. Then their bodies attacked the possible recruit with the intent to kill," Ashen reported.
"He was strong though, and quickly dispatched of the task force". Vivian bit on her pen. She didn't know what happened, but it couldn't have been a coincidence that this happened when they tried to recruit him. Now Karma probably thought that the Abyssal Command was out to kill him, and that would not make things easy in terms of trying to recruit him.
"Darnit!" Vivian screamed to no one in particular, hitting her pen into the chair. It had taken a while to find him, and now he might actually try to hide from them. And now they had something or someone possessing their members, and they had no idea how.
"What could have happened," Vivian mumbled to herself.
"I think I might know," a voice said from behind her. Vivian turned and smiled.
"Fellow Commander," Ahsen greeted.
"Hey Claris, you said you know something," Vivian asked, taking her pencil out of her mouth.
"Yes, I do. If I'm correct in what I think, and my feeling is correct, then-"
? POV:
"-he is one of the eight," a figure in all black told the hooded man in front of him. The hooded figure let out a surprised gasp.
"You really think that man is one of the eight?" the hooded man asked.
"Yes," the man in black answered, grinning.
"And if that is true, he is going to get so much stronger. That is why we ruined the recruitment for the Abyssal Command. I'm sure they didn't know he was one of them yet, but they definitely know now. That pesky Claris is with them, and she will definitely be able to feel the power signature," the man in black grumbled.
"We need to get that man on our side, it will be so much easier to complete our plan if that happens," the man in black told him. The hooded figure bowed.
"Whatever you say, my lord," he said, before forming a portal and leaving.
Nico POV:
Nico was confused. So many monsters were gathering in one place. He knew he should have told somebody where he was going, but he left before he could, following a few Laistrygonian giants. Nico could feel a power source where the monsters were gathering.
He didn't know what the power was coming from, but whatever it was obviously wasn't good. The white energy was the same he felt on monsters previously, that were way stronger than they should have been. Maybe this was the source of it.
His cousin, Thaila, had spoken of new, more terrifying monsters showing up, ones that weren't part of the Greek pantheon. This was becoming a big issue, and he was going to snuff it out before it could grow any larger.
Nico shadow-traveled close to the area and hid behind a tree as he watched. A figure was standing in front of all the monsters. They had a white robe on, so he couldn't make out who it was, so Nico listened closely.
"-it is now your time. My lord promises all that aid him free rain of planets all across the universe once he has control. Once he controls everything, you can eat as many demigods as you want!" the hooded figure screamed, getting a cheer from the monsters.
Nico tried to move closer, and stepped on a twig, making a noise. He swore, and looked up, to see the hooded figure turn around.
"Jameson?" Nico asked, horrified. Nico tried to shadow travel, but for some reason, it wouldn't work. Jameson looked at him, his eyes glowing white.
"What a shame, if only you weren't shoving your nose in other people's business," Jameson said, shaking his head in disapproval, before raising his fist and clenching it. Nico suddenly felt a strong pressure grab him before he started to float to Jameson.
"Go to sleep," Jameson commanded, before putting his thumb on Nico's head. Nico's eyes flashed white, as he yelled, before he blacked out, the image of Jameson's glowing face fading away.
(IMPORTANT. Hey guys, let's get down to business.
First off, I know the chapters still say editing, but I assure you that I am working on them. On the bright side, I got a chapter out so that is cool.
Speaking of chapters, I am going to make a schedule, so you guys know when I post. I am changing the post day to Monday (because it is after the weekend) and I'll post early in the morning, which is like 6:00 - 7:30 AM ET so now you know when I am going to post. I will post this Monday, so don't worry about that. Also thanks to a reader's request (Croustade), I'm going to try to make my chapters as long as the two previous chapters are regularly, so at least 5,000 words. I will try, but sometimes chapters come to their ending a little faster, so it won't be always.
Next, I wanted to thank everyone for the reviews. Even if you weren't on the shoutout, I appreciate every single review I get, so thanks for that. I am really excited about the next arc we are going to go through. A lot of important stuff happens here, so get ready for the good stuff.
I decided to call the Chaos Army the Abyssal Command because I thought it sounded way cooler, and Chaos Army is way overused, so yeah, just in case you were confused about that. Also on the Earth side, that is going to be getting some development soon, shown by the teaser at the end of this chapter, so for you people who have been wondering where that is, it's coming in entire chapters.
This story has slow pacing, but it won't be slow forever. Major things are going to happen, so get ready for that. that is all I had to say in this A/N so yeah, thanks for reading and I hope you stay tuned for chapter 22, Lone Wolf.)
edit: so I'm not going to be able to post a chapter this Monday. I had writer's block and didn't want to give anything less than my best, so the next chapter will be postponed to next Monday. Thanks for staying patient, and see you next chapter!
