"Sure." She looks at the sky, avoiding his gaze. "Everyone's afraid of something."
Sesshoumaru doesn't answer at first. Fear is dangerous territory, but her question is honest. Convicting.
Refusing to meet her eyes, he shifts his shoulders against the grass and joins her search of the stars. "Loss."
"Like of a watch?" she jokes weakly.
Hesitating, his hand finds hers. "No, Miko." Their fingers lace. "Those loved."
Breath catching, she squeezes gently. "Me too."
