Vampy: I don't own anything from Black Butler. Thank you to everyone who has followed/favorited/reviewed on Lover's Morgue!

The day had finally come for Ciel to put all he had learned over the past week to the test. He tugged on the pink monstrosity he was forced to wear, a scowl on his face.

"A young lady doesn't scowl, Ciel." Madame Red scolded.

The boy instantly smoothed out his features despite wanting to scowl even more. "This dress is absurd. It's itchy, it's too hot, and it's a bloody nuisance!"

"A young lady doesn't complain."

Sebastian smirked. He found his master's misery to be extremely amusing, though the dress suited him well. "We should be coming up to Undertaker's shop shortly."

Ciel groaned, burying his face into his gloved hands. "Damn. Undertaker will laugh his arse off!"

"A young lady-"

"Doesn't use that kind of language, yes I bloody know!" Ciel fell back in his seat and glared out the window as the carriage rode towards the ball.

Raven stared at her reflection in an old, cracked mirror. She had never felt so beautiful! Her silky black hair had been curled and pinned back so that it cascaded over her shoulders yet stayed out of her face. Her eyes moved down to her dress. The dress Undertaker had made for her complimented her figure nicely and was made of black silk. Never in her life had she owned anything so elegant.

Undertaker came into the room, adjusting his clothes with a look of disgust on his face. "This blasted suit is so uncomfortable! Can't I just wear my coat and hat?"

"Adrian, we're going to a party filled with respectable people. Surely you can live without your usual clothes for a few hours?" Raven turned towards him and her breath caught in her throat.

Undertaker's silver hair was pulled back into a low ponytail that stood out against his simple black suit like the stars in the night sky. His bangs were still covering his face, but even so, Raven couldn't deny that the man was attractive.

He was looking at her with an identical expression of appreciation. "That dress looks very nice on you, m'dear. I did a nice job, if I do say so myself!"

She giggled. "And you look very handsome. But why do you have your bangs in your face still?"

"I don't want a certain Earl and his butler knowing I'm a Shinigami. It would lead to some most problematic situations." Undertaker offered his arm to her.

Raven took it with a smile. A knock on the door alerted the couple to the arrival of their ride. "Let's go!"

Undertaker laughed at Raven's enthusiasm as he was practically dragged out the door and to the carriage that waited for them outside. Sebastian held the carriage door open for them but allowed Undertaker to help Raven into the vehicle. He then joined Grell in the driver's seat once everyone was seated.

And as Ciel has predicted, Undertaker laughed his "arse" off.

"Remind me why I must wear this stupid dress?!" Ciel growled as he stumbled over the hem, glaring up at his butler when Sebastian caught him.

"Because you are on an undercover investigation. Besides, I've always wanted a daughter!" Madame Red clapped her hands together in delight. "Which reminds me, we need to go over our identities. Ciel is my niece who's visiting from the country side, Sebastian is her tutor, Lau is my date, and Grell is still just my butler."

Grell's jaw dropped in disappointment. "Bu-"

"Alright! Let's go in!" Madame Red dragged Lau towards the entrance, leaving Grell to fall to the ground dramatically and reach his arm toward her.

"Madaaaaaaaame!"

Sebastian and Ciel looked at the poor butler in disgust before following the earl's aunt. Raven looked at Grell sympathetically and helped him up. "Poor Grell, I'm sorry you don't get to enjoy yourself."

Undertaker snickered, but was quickly silenced by the glares Raven and Grell sent his way. Grell nodded politely to the girl. "Thank you, Miss Raven. But I am a butler, so I must do my duty to my mistress, even at fancy parties." He then walked after the others.

"What a strange man." Raven said as she absentmindedly took Undertaker's arm again, letting him lead her to the entrance. She still felt uncomfortable around both Grell and Madame Red.

"Indeed." Undertaker's eyes narrowed slightly behind his bangs. Why is he with that Red woman, I wonder?

His attention was quickly brought back to the woman on his arm when he heard her gasp. "What? Is something wrong?"

Raven blushed. "No, nothing is wrong. I've just never seen the inside of such a large building before! It's gorgeous."

"Thank you, my lady." A voice spoke beside her, causing Raven to jump in surprise. A man with platinum blonde hair took her free hand and kissed it lightly. "Welcome to my home. I am Aleistor Chamber, the Viscount of Druitt. Pray tell, what is your name?"

"Raven Stonewall, my lord." Raven gave him a little curtsy before clinging to Undertaker's arm again, her grip making him wince.

The Viscount smiled at her. "Such a lovely name. It matches well with such a lovely young woman. And who is your escort?" He looked at Undertaker curiously.

Undertaker grinned his usual grin. "I'm known as Undertaker."

"Ah! I've heard of you. From what I've been told, you're very good at your job. Actually, I'm glad you're here. I have a proposition for you. Excuse me my dear, we won't be but a moment." Viscount Druitt led Undertaker away, the latter looking rather amused even as they left Raven all alone.

She looked around nervously, wrapping her arms around herself protectively. Raven didn't like being alone; especially not in a crowd of rich strangers. People brushed past her, glasses clinked, women laughed, men talked, music played as dancers whirled. It was all Raven could do not to flee towards the nearest exit. She let out a small squeak when a hand suddenly touched her shoulder.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." Undertaker said apologetically as Raven turned to him. She let out a sigh of relief, quickly grabbing his arm and pressing her face into his shoulder as she tried to regain her composure. Undertaker stood quietly to allow her time to breathe.

After a moment, Raven pulled back and smiled at the older Shinigami. "Thank you. I think I'm alright now. What did you talk about with the Viscount?"

Undertaker was torn between wanting to make a face or giggling. "That man is very. . . amusing in his own way. He has fantastic ideas. Not extremely amazing ideas, I mean that they are big and nearly impossible to accomplish. I must say that his proposition intrigued me. However, m'dear, that is the most I can tell you about our conversation. Besides, we're at a party! We should be out dancing, not standing here." He held out his hand to her and bowed slightly. "May I have this dance?"

Raven bit her lip hesitantly before taking his hand. "I'm not very good at dancing. . ."

"Not to worry, dearie. Just follow my lead." He smiled at her as he lead her to the dance floor.

As everyone danced and enjoyed themselves, no one noticed as a timid man with long brown hair carefully make his exit. Or at least he thought no one noticed him. A pair of yellow-green eyes followed his progress through the crowd and out the door.

Raven chewed on her bottom lip. She hadn't liked the feeling she'd gotten when she watched Grell leave. Something about him seemed off. She turned to Undertaker. "Could we go now?"

Undertaker tilted his head slightly so Raven could see his narrowed eyes. "You aren't thinking of following him, are you?"

"Of course not! Why on earth would you think that?" She looked away from as she scoffed. He raised an eyebrow. ". . . Okay fine! Yes!"

"I'm not sure that would be a wise decision, Raven. He's very dangerous."

"And that's why we should follow him! Don't you see, Adrian? Both he and Madame Red have just felt. . . wrong. It's like they're actors on a stage, putting on a show for a specific audience." Raven looked at Undertaker with pleading eyes, fighting back a blush at the sound of her name on his lips. "We can't just stand by when we know that something suspicious is going on."

Undertaker studied her for a long moment before letting out a large sigh. "Alright."

Raven grinned triumphantly and pulled Undertaker after her. As they left, Undertaker could only hope that he hadn't made the wrong decision.
