Before I start this story let me say, THIS IS NOT CANON TO MY STORIES! I had another inspiration from another art piece on DeviantArt. The Artist is Shein07 and the art piece is called "Goodbye Friend". This does take place in my world of Paw Patrol, but it's NOT CANON to my stories. I need to say this because I don't want to kill off a certain character (read this or check out the art piece on who the character is) in my stories, so yeah.

Chase's POV

"Do… Do you really see me as a brother Chase?" I hear Marshall ask me

"Yes Marshall, I do. I love you like one, seeing you hurt hurts me too, even more so when I know what you're feeling"

"Do… Do you want to be my brother Chase?" He asked

"Only if you'll let me Marshall," I said, still hugging him.

"Yes, I want you to be my brother Chase" I hear my frie-brother, say to me

"Okay, just promise me this Marshall" He listened. "If you need someone or somepup to talk to, someone's or somepup's shoulder to cry on, anything, don't hesitate to ask me or Ryder okay?"

"Okay Chase, I promise" Marshall replies

"Thank you Marshall," I said, smiling and grateful "let's go to bed now okay?"

"Okay"

"Brothers till the end?" I asked, extending my paw out to him

He took my paw and pulled me into another brotherly hug, to which I gave him one back "Brothers till the end" he said back to me

Chase's POV

The memory ended as I was sitting on the grass, looking downwards. After some time, I looked up into the casket to see a pup that was sleeping peacefully in there. A pup who was my first real friend, a pup who was the mate of a certain husky, a pup who was the father of a young pup of the same breed as him, a pup who I will forever see as my brother.

Despite his injuries, the mortician was able to make Marshall's injuries seem like they were never there. Of course, I'll never forget what he looked like in his final moments, after all, I was there IN his final moments. I… just wished he didn't have to die the way he did… I didn't tell his mate, Everest his son, Ash, and biological brother, Max, what Marshall's final moments were. Of course they could assume, but I was the only witness there to see Marshall in his final moments. If… if Everest, Ash, or Max ask me what his final moments were, I'll tell them, but I won't tell them unless they ask me.

Thinking about the three made me take a look at them. Slowly, I looked up and saw Everest was holding her son, Ash. Both were crying their hearts out, getting supportive hugs from the team. I then joined in the hug, and Ash immediately hugged me. After some time, he let go and went back to his mother, hugging her tight.

Max was silent as a rock, having a straight face with nothing but tears in his eyes to show he was mourning, but he was just like Everest and Ash. Destroyed. Marshall was the only family he had left, now it's just him. Max walked up to the casket and just looked in it, tears dropping into the casket. Max didn't say a single word during this funeral, but just two words, two words that hurt him so much "Adios Hermanito", and he walked away from the casket, sitting back down, Ryder scratching his ear to which Max allowed.

I then walked up to the casket and I stood up on my hind legs, and gently grabbed Marshall's paw and placed my other paw on top of his before putting it in my chest, crying. "I'm s-sorry M-M-Marshall, I'm so… so s-s-sorry that those w-were your f-f-final moments" and before I knew it, I was reliving that hell.

Chase's POV

It hasn't been that long since Marshall had gone into the Lab to try and put the fire out, but he hasn't been responding on his pup-tag, and everyone was getting worried.

"Marshall! Are you there?! Do you need help?!" Ryder called on his pup-pad, worry in his tone

"I'm here Ryder! Sorry, the smoke is cutting out my connection, but I'm alri- OH SHI-" Before Marshall finished, an explosion was heard on Marshall's end before his communications were cut. Soon, we all saw part of the Lab explode and heard the sound of the explosion coming to our eardrums.

"MARSHALL!" I yell out in pain "MARSHALL! COME IN! PLEASE!" No response "COME ON! PLEASE SAY SOMETHING!"

"*cough* *cough*, I need backup, *cough* hurry, I'm stuck in a room" I hear Marshall say, coughing violently. Before anyone else could stop me, I bolted towards the Lab, ignoring the calls to come back from Ryder.

I ran through the doors, debris from the explosion was limiting my speed and possible ways to get to Marshall. I ran down the halls, trying to get Marshall's scent, which was hard trying to find with all the fire and smoke. Soon, I got his scent, and began to follow it. After some time, I found Marshall with his gas mask on, but it was destroyed. He was stuck in a room that was filling with smoke and the fire was getting bigger since there were many flammable objects still inside the room. How the objects survived the explosion, I don't know, but that doesn't matter. I saw that Marshall was having a hard time getting up, and he saw me through the glass wall that was keeping us separated.

"MARSHALL! PUT THE FIRE OUT!" I say with tears coming out of my eyes. Marshall looked towards his pup-pack. It had fallen off his body and the canons were destroyed.

"I… can't… help me open the door," Marshall said to me, struggling to keep his body up.

We both went to the door that was keeping Marshall inside, and tried to open the door, but it just stayed shut. "Dammit! OPEN!" I yelled out, but the door stayed in place. I then ran up to the window and pulled out my Magnum, firing at the glass, hoping the glass would break from the bullet. I saw the bullet enter the glass, but it didn't shatter like I wanted it to.

"Chase... stop" I hear Marshall say

"A-ARE YOU CRAZY?! I'M NOT GONNA LET YOU DIE! YOU CAN'T GIVE UP!" I yell at Marshall. Looking up, I saw a pipe that was getting weaker by the minute, I pushed it to the side as I looked at Marshall. He pulled the gas mask off, letting me see his face.

"Chase… please go. I can't leave this room, the door is shut closed, the glass won't break, the fire in here is surrounding the walls. Chase… I'm not gonna get to leave this room" Marshall said, his own tears coming out

I place my paws on the window "NO YOU CAN'T! MARSHALL YOU CAN'T GIVE UP! I CAN'T LOSE MY BROTHER! I CAN'T LET YOU DIE! PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP!" I yelled at him, but he still wouldn't budge.

"Chase… Do you think I want to die? I want to get to live and see my wedding, I want to see Ash become a firefighter, I want to see everyone live their lives the way the chose to, I want to keep living Chase, but I'm not gonna be able to get out of this room." Marshall then put his paws on the glass, in front of mine. "Chase… don't blame yourself or Ryder or anyone else in the coming weeks, it's not what I want. In the Lookout's yard, go to the spot where we became brothers and dig, there's something there I want you and everyone to see"

"NO PLEASE MARSHALL! DON'T DIE! DON'T LEAVE US! DON'T LEAVE ME!" I say with pain in my voice, even more tears coming out. Soon, the pipe that I saw broke free, shooting some type of gas inside the room Marshall was in, the flames ignited the gas.

"Tell everyone that I will always love them Chase, brothers till the end" Marshall said to me as he closed his eyes. His tears evaporated from his face as the flames engulfed him, him screaming from the pain he was getting.

"MARSHALL!" I said in pain, before the gas exploded, shattering the glass and the blast sent me across the hallway.

I opened my eyes to see a bright light, I thought I had just died. I would've kept thinking I died if the light didn't begin to dim. I realized I was still in the Lab, and I saw the room that Marshall was trapped in was destroyed entirely, even the glass wall that separated us was destroyed. I began to get up and make my way over to the room Marshall was in. Once I got there, I threw the rubble away trying to find Marshall, and soon I did.

Marshall… The pup that was always able to make everyone happy... The older brother to everyone in Paw Patrol... My best friend… My brother, was dead. His body was burnt, and his face was too. I began to cry as I hugged the body of my brother, not letting go. I only ever looked up when I felt someone tap my shoulder.

When I looked, I saw Ryder standing there, a look of worry when he saw me. He kept that face until he saw Marshall's condition, and his face changed to pain like mine. Ryder himself began to cry as he carefully picked up Marshall's body and could only cry.

*Memory Ends*

Before I joined the rest of the team, I put Marshall's paw the way it was before I picked it up.

"Love you brother" I said, tears still coming out. I kissed Marshall's forehead before saying one more thing to him

"Brothers till the end"

Well, there you guys have it, another one-shot. I don't know what else to say, but just this as a reminder. This is NOT canon to my stories. With that, I'll see y'all later, bye.
