Three weeks later, Kim, Casey, and Alex were watching Nattie, Thomas, and Oliver watch Remington like he was the coolest toy ever. Morgan came in from work, grabbing a grape soda out of the fridge and sat beside Alex. Kim was half asleep against Casey,

"How is she dad?" Alex asked.

"Okay, she's been quiet though." Casey whispered,

"Why?"

"She's afraid I'm mad at her because we didn't get to go on the trip."

"She still gets worried about…." Morgan trailed off, sitting in the floor with the kids.

Casey nodded.

Kim moved in her sleep, waking up looking up at Casey.

"Hey."

"Hey, how do you feel?" He asked, running his fingers through her hair, which had now grown into a crew cut.

"Okay. Tired."

"Do you want us to go? We could stay and look after the kids while you both rest? Remington is being bottle fed right?" Alex asked.

"Yes, the formula is on the counter with instructions." Kim whispered.

Casey gently picked her up, carrying her upstairs and into bed. He covered her up, laying beside her, watching her.

"Love you." He whispered.

"Love you, too."

Casey smiled at her.

"What?" Kim asked.

"Love you."

"You already said that."

"I know, but the last few months have taught me to not take anything for granted." Casey whispered, and kissed her.

"Hey, you keep telling me to think positive and not to immediately think the worst. Try following your own advice for once." She said, cheekily grinning at him.

"That's what I'm doing, so let's just get some sleep so we can cope with our new baby boy." As she spoke she cuddled up to Casey, laying her head on his chest.

"That's sound advice, if I do say so myself." He said solemnly, trying not to laugh, but succumbed when Kim started giggling.

As the giggling stopped the exhaustion and stress of the day finally caught up with them and they fell asleep in each other's arms.
