Vampy: I am SO sorry that it took me so long to finally update this story! I have been struggling with writer's block and a bunch of family issues. Please forgive me. But at long last I have prepared for you a new chapter! Thank you to everyone who has followed/favorited/ reviewed on Lover's Morgue!
Oh! I almost forgot. I was thinking about writing a oneshot or something to go a bit into William and Maria's story. Do you guys think that's a good idea, or no?

William struggled to keep his expression unreadable as he stared at the girl who looked so much like Maria apart from having his eyes and hair color. Many emotions battled for dominance; fear, anger, sorrow, even a small amount of joy. The Shinigami wasn't entirely sure what to do now that he was face to face with the child he'd never known he'd had. That thought stung a little but he wasn't entirely surprised that Maria hadn't told him after the way things had ended between them.
"I know you. . ." Raven murmured, pulling William out of his thoughts. Her face scrunched up in concentration as she tried to recall how she knew the black haired reaper. "You were there the night my mother died."
He blinked once, the only sign of surprise that he allowed himself to show. William did have to admit that it wasn't too surprising the girl would remember someone taking her mother's soul just after she died. Although it was odd that he hadn't sensed the shinigami blood running through Raven's veins then. He adjusted his glasses to stall a little before he spoke again. "Yes. I was the one who was sent to collect her soul. William T. Spears, at your service." William offered her his card as he bowed slightly. "My apologies for startling you earlier."
Raven studied his face as she took the card. Having discovered the truth about her now step-father, the young shinigami could see similarities between herself and the reaper before her. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Spears. I wish we could have met at better times."
"Yes, well. . . I suppose that is the way fate works." William straightened up and adjusted his glasses again. "Though I agree that I would have liked to meet you under different circumstances." The man couldn't help the slightly wistful tone that was laced through his words as he once against gazed upon her features.
The two of them stood looking at each other in silence for a few moments. Raven could see in William's eyes that though he may know who she was and might even wish deep down to pursue a relationship with her as his daughter, he would not. His duty would always lay with the Shinigami Dispatch Society. His work would always come first. Eventually William turned away from the younger Shinigami, keeping his back straight and head raised despite the emotions that were beginning to weigh down on him. "I hate to be abrupt, but I'm afraid that I have other matters to attend to at the moment."
"Will we see each other again?"
William cast one last glance over his shoulder at Raven as he pondered her question. He had gone 17 years without being involved with his daughter's life and yet he still needed time to decide for himself whether or not he was willing to step up to be the father she desperately needed. "My number is on my card, should you ever need me." He finally replied before leaping up to the rooftop so he could deal with his irksome subordinate, leaving Raven to stand alone in the dark.
Undertaker skidded to a halt on a slippery rooftop so he could look around for Raven. Water dripped from his hair and his clothes were completely soaked from the rain that had been falling sporadically throughout the night, but he paid no heed to the chill the moisture caused in his old bones. The retired reaper pulled out his old Dispatch glasses to help him see more clearly as he gazed down each alley way and street until he finally found the girl.
Raven didn't move from where she was sitting with her arms wrapped around her knees when she saw Undertaker jump down from the rooftop. She simply stared at him with red rimmed eyes as he knelt down in front of her.
The ancient Shinigami took one of Raven's hands between his, rubbing some heat into it as he leaned his head down to look her in the eyes. "I'm sorry."
She hesitated a moment before gently pulling her hand away so she could wrap her arms around his neck, clinging to him like he was the only thing keeping her from breaking apart. "Take me home, Adrian. Please just take me home."
His heart broke a little when her voice cracked on the last word. He knew that something else must have happened between the time she left and the time he found her, but he found himself unable to say or do anything besides silently stand up with her in his arms so he could carry her back to the shop.
When the pair finally arrived at their destination, Undertaker set Raven down. He opened the door and quickly ushered her into the building so they could get out of their wet clothes as soon as possible.
The young woman walked quietly through the hallways as he followed her after locking the front door. He took a startled step back when she suddenly whirled to face him once they entered the room she had been staying in, her slender fingers reaching forwards to grab the wet folds of his overcoat and pull him forward.
"Wha-"
"Shut up." Raven commanded impatiently before pressing her lips against his slightly blue ones. She kissed him with a desperation that had him quickly returning the kiss and he lifted his hands to cup her face, his touch gentle despite the bruising pressure of his lips.
Undertaker carefully backed her to the bed after they had both shed their wet clothes with some difficulty. There was some part of him that worried they were moving too fast, but the more dominant part was just as desperate for Raven as she was for him. Her hands were everywhere and her touch felt like wildfire on his icy skin. He only stopped kissing her long enough to be sure that this was what she really wanted before he went about showing her just how pleasurable being with a man could be.
Raven tensed a little at first, but she was soon writhing and moaning as Undertaker did things with his tongue and fingers that sent delightful shudders through her body. She whimpered in disappointment when he pulled away. "No, don't stop!" she begged.
"Hush, love." The silver haired Shinigami chuckled as he leaned down to kiss her softly. "I'm not done yet. Just stay relaxed, alright?" Undertaker kissed down her jaw and neck as he slowly entered her. He paused every so often to give her time to adjust to him, then waited for her to tell him to move once he was completely inside of her.
Sometime later they lay together with the blankets thrown haphazardly over them, both completely sated and relaxed as they cuddled. Raven traced the scars on Undertaker's chest and abdomen quietly for a while before finally asking him, "Will you tell me how you got these?"
He was quiet for so long that she would have thought him to be asleep if he hadn't been stroking her hair. Finally the ancient man let out a weary sigh.
"Many years ago I trained a Shinigami known as Derrick Morningstar. . . "
Vampy: I know that I don't normally do two ANs in one chapter, but I wanted to add a few things that would have contained spoilers had I said them at the beginning of the chapter. Firstly, I want to apologize if the sex scene is super awkward. I didn't feel like writing a full on lemon and since I have never had sex before, I honestly have no idea how to write a realistic one. Secondly, the next chapter will be a flash back. Thirdly, I am planning on writing a oneshot about the first time William met Raven back when she was 7 years old. Hopefully I should have it up within the next week since I'm back in the writing game. Anyways, thank you all for being so patient with me. Stay tuned for the next update!
