I'll be honest, when I started writing the story I wasn't really thinking about how broken Eltanin was, so now that for one reason or another I kept writing about Danmachi I wondered I don't know times if I should continue it or not, but still , here is chapter 3. Incidentally, I lost the chapters I had written because for some unspecified reason they weren't saved in the drive, so I lost them once I formatted the phone, so I'll have to rewrite them, and it was a long time ago than to get back to this story, I forgot how I had set it up. There will therefore be changes compared to how I had initially imagined it, but I will open a survey to let readers choose whether to continue this fiction by making it a crossover with other series (mainly of the fairy brand, but probably I will add others, or it remains only danmachi with cameo from other series, I don't know) or rewrite another directly with another type of protagonist.
That said, happy reading.
To say that the whole trip was asphyxiating would be an understatement. I could practically feel the anxiety of the adventurers around me, as it was intense. At least I had the chance to work with my powers for a while. I was anxious to get back up and that's why I also helped wipe out the monsters that were in the way and many times it would all end before the magi could finish singing, in humanoid form of course. The pesky sea area of the dungeon on the other hand was incredibly easy for normal adventurers to get through. The most exciting part of the climb for me was when we passed water city.
From floor 25 to 27 a 400m wide and twice as long waterfall cascades down and to move around you need to travel through channels around the floor however that' s where I came in. I discovered that my ice element can be doubled in a very restricted amount because it consists of water and wind. I'm still a beginner at using the latter element while water is fairly easy to manipulate due as I don't have to make use of moisture in the air to manoeuvre it but I had a whole waterfall at my disposal. I didn't even need to have accurate control in this situation. I created an icy platform near the base of the waterfall and solidified it enough to hold twice the weight we had, and then used the water to pull us up, as if it were a lift. At first no one was on the same page with the idea, but after a bit of testing, accompanied by Tiona, who apparently found it fun, we saved several hours of travel, and combined that with the hours we had accumulated before, we climbed up in four days instead of the planned seven, which was relatively convenient.
There was, however, a small inconvenience on the 17th floor...
We ran into a large group of minotaurs, and since Riveria said the lower levels usually get experience on the intermediate floors, I didn't interfere, but Tione, Tiona, and Bete took out their frustration on those poor beasts, ignoring Riveria and Raul, who were supposed to lead the lower levels against that group of monsters. The result? They scared them off and escaped up the levels until they reached the higher ones. On the ninth I agreed to lend a hand in killing the missing ones to prevent other people from dying, and I got as far as scouring the fifth floor to make sure everything was running smoothly.
"Are you alright?" I ask one of the victims. On the fifth floor, the last one standing had tried to attack a beginner but I intervened before it could even touch him.
I glance up for a moment taking in his appearance. He is a teenage boy, white hair and red eyes. He resembles a rabbit, partly because of the soft features of his face. He wears a brown coat, black trousers, brown boots and gloves, with a rucksack on his back. The only visible equipment is a breastplate and a knife on his belt.
Accidentally when I killed the minotaur with my kick, I had gone a little overboard with the force and it sort of exploded, smearing the boy with blood from head to toe.
He stares at me, stunned, before running off screaming
"Just wonderful..." I mutter to none in particular.
I spread my wings open to follow him tracking his scent, and find him above ground, inside a large building rather lively...I hear it's the guild from some people offsite. I step inside and spot the guy chatting with someone who I assume is a local employee, an elf with shoulder-length brown hair and green eyes. She is wearing glasses and the guild uniform, if the way she was dressed is any indication and it consists of: a set of black waistcoat and trousers, with a long sleeved white collared shirt and a grey bow tie underneath.
"So that's where you've been" I reach behind him, causing the albino boy to jump.
"Eep!"
"Bell-kun, you ran off without even thanking him for saving you, the least you need to do is apologise!" the girl admonishes and the young adventurer seems to come to his senses, albeit glancing back nervously.
"Thank you so much for saving me and I am sorry about before!" he almost shouts and then bends into a perfect 90 degree angle.
"Okay? Why did you run away earlier?" I ask uncertain trying to grasp the situation.
If he was grateful because I rescued him what was the point of running away screaming? I don't think he even noticed my disguise...
"I-I just panicked" he stammers, flailing under my vacant stare and the elf's total disapproval.
"Rather...can you wash yourself? You stink" I remark plugging my nose, no longer able to stand the stench Bell gives off because of the blood.
"Definitely" agrees the girl "I am Eina Tulle, Bell's advisor. Thank you so much for saving him."
She introduces herself oblivious to Bell who seemed to have turned redder than his blood covered face from embarrassment.
"Eltanin, it wasn't a problem, although I probably should have intervened earlier" I reply feeling a little guilty.
If I had stepped in sooner, a lot of people wouldn't have risked their lives today like Bell and no one would have taken unnecessary risks. Danger always lurks in the dungeon, but in this case it was a mistake by the Loki family I could have prevented from occurring.
"''Eltanin-san, I was wondering while Bell was talking, but what familia are you part of? Your appearance is rather unique so you would be in our records in case..." she mentions thoughtfully unable to recall anyone similar to me.
"I'm from outside Orario. When I arrived I went on an expedition with the Loki familia for a few reasons so I didn't have time to stop by and register, we only returned today."
This was the cover story to possibly justify my presence with the Loki familia. It wasn't much but better than nothing. Eina didn't seem to take it well instead.
"Really!? To enter the dungeon you have to be part of a guild registered familia! You could be blacklisted in the worst case scenario for something like that!" she remarks alarmed, thinking about how the saviour of her surrogate brother (that's the impression I got from watching their brief interaction) could end up being branded a criminal. If the blacklist has no other meaning, that is.
"Mn. If I had known I would have done it sooner" I add as impassively as I can as a consolation, even though inside I was sweating cold from the news.
Eina's frown softens a little.
"'If you understood it's fine. Is your deity in town? Or you need to make a conversion?" she continues curiously "in the second case I can try to find a familia for you to join."
"I have not yet decided whether or not to become a full fledged adventurer. The reason I came down with the Loki familia was more out of sheer necessity" I reply trying to limit the details "Besides, my god isn't in town, but if I make a conversion I'll let you know"
Conversion is a process whereby an adventurer is transferred from one family to another, and can only be done once a year. The reasons may vary but the gist is this. Riveria had made sure to fill in my gaps as we returned to the surface to deal with the guild.
"Alright, do you need anything else?" she asks as Bell remains forgotten in the background.
"Actually, yes. I need to trade some magic stones, open a bank account if you guys take care of that, I need a map of the city so I know where to find some really good inns and restaurants, and the location of the Loki familia base" my requests leaves her a little puzzled.
"No problem, but having been on an expedition with the Loki familia shouldn't you know where they live?" she asks perplexed and I look the least bit uncomfortable with the query.
"It was a last minute situation so I wasn't able to visit their residence" I reply massaging my neck.
She nods not looking too convinced and proceeds to deal with my requests.
At the end of the day I discovered another interesting fact, apart from speaking the common language I can also read it and apparently write it. Not to mention I now have a bank account with almost 10,000,000 Valis because of all the Valgang Dragon magic stones.
Finn's office, Twilight Manor...
"I'll admit that for a moment I was afraid I'd have to look for you all over Orario" Finn remarks, surprised I had come to them after I ran off into the dungeon.
"I went to make sure the newbie I rescued on the fifth floor didn't know about my disguise" I state flat out to the palum.
In the office are all the first class adventurers of the Loki familia, myself and the goddess in question.
"So you're the supposed talking creature?" she asks examining me "You don't look scary at all"
"If you find an enclosed or secluded space I'll show you what I really look like, then we'll talk" I reply almost hurt by the goddess' joke.
Loki is a goddess ( why the sex change I couldn't figure out) with light red hair tied back in a ponytail and closed (but still red) eyes. She is known from what I've heard around to dress in male or tomboyish clothing, mainly jeans and a t-shirt that shows off her stomach. Or at least that's what I've heard. She has her hair tied back with a black ribbon.
"Alright, all kidding aside, are you really a monster? Looking at you doesn't suggest it" she adds perplexed.
I make my wings appear and cover my arms in scales, replacing my nails with razor sharp claws. She opens her eyes slightly.
"Can you say it like this?" I ask sarcastically making my limbs return to normal "So any questions or are we just going to stand here and look each other in the eye?"
"So, you were reincarnated as a monster? How is that possible?" she asks skeptically scratching her head.
"Shouldn't you have discussed this with your subordinates before this meeting?" I inquire annoyed at the apparent lack of desire to take matters into her own hands "Anyway to answer your question I have no idea. One moment I was dying in a hospital bed because of a wrong dosage of a drug, the next I found myself in the safety point on the 58th floor with a brand new body. The only thing I could describe in between is how odd the experience of dying itself was".
I decided to switch languages as I said it, switching to my mother tongue, purely to see if she could understand me, but mostly so the others wouldn't find out how I was reincarnated. I don't trust the goddess too much either, but she might know something, just in case there's a history so I know how to sort through the information.
She stares at me for a long, silently and the mood in the room is tense. No one has said anything since Loki and I started talking, but they were confused when I spoke in an unknown language, especially when their goddess's own adjusted to address me, cutting them off from the conversation.
"Mmmh...I don't detect any lies, but I have no knowledge if you are considered a 'mortal' or my ability has no effect on a 'monster'. Try lying in a not too obvious way and see if it works."
I raise an eyebrow at the request but don't dispute it. What should I tell her though? I don't want to reveal my gloomy backstory so soon, nor the secrets I'd like to take to the grave without bringing up embarrassing topics... though there is one thing...
"When I was a child I was a popular kid."
The silence in the room is deafening, but after a few seconds Loki cracks her eyes open in shock.
"BwhHahaahahabah" she bursts out laughing for some reason, and I feel some sparks pop on my horns "Were you really that bad?!" she asks clapping a hand on her thigh, not buying my words.
"Oi...I just revealed something embarrassing here, take it seriously..." I growl scratching my hair uncomfortably. I'm pretty sure I actually blushed a little.
"S-sorry... ahah, but it's been a while since I've heard alarm bells ring like that" she says wiping away a tear "So, what are you going to do?"
"I have no idea" I say completely ignoring the first comment.
"Then why don't you join us?" she asks turning back to the Koine.
"Not even if I die" I reply immediately making the goddess raise an eyebrow.
"Wow, why all this fuss about your rejection? Without even a second thought then?" the redhead asks a little offended.
"I don't want to be anywhere near her" I point at Ais who meanwhile was still staring at me intently, ready for any opportunity to strike.
Loki seems confused, so Riveria replies.
"Ais acted that way because effectively, we couldn't be completely sure if he was telling the truth or it was a ploy of his to get to the surface and run wild" it wasn't an excuse, but Riveria was hoping I would forgive the teenager for her behaviour.
"Ah, I'm starting to get an idea of what happened" Loki sighs, though I have the impression she has no intention of giving up easily "The invitation still stands if you reconsider though. I have a strong feeling that with you around things will get interesting."
"All the more reason not to join..." I mutter annoyed.
"Aaagh! Enough of this nonsense, cheer up!" she complains about my attitude "I promise that if you join you won't have to deal with Aiz-tan, I'll keep her in line".
"If I had listened to my paranoia I wouldn't have died in the first place" I reply dryly making her wince a little "I'll think about it, but I'm not promising anything"
I stand up and head for the exit.
"You're leaving?" a disappointed Loki asks.
"I want to see what this new world has to offer tonight, so yes" I answer without much ado as I walk out.
Strangely, no one other than Loki, Finn and Riveria have spoken to me.
Mah, never mind, now I feel like stuffing my face with food.
In the office...
"What do you think Loki?" asks Finn finally breaking the brooding silence in the room.
"He won't attack anyone unless it is out of defence, nor is he after us, so I'd say it's fine to leave him alone if he doesn't want to join our familia" Loki answers as she gazes at the door for a few seconds "It would be a shame however, I've always wanted a dragon in the house"
"At least he doesn't hold it against us" Riveria sighs inwardly.
"Mmn, who knows if he'll take the offer? He seems like a fun guy to have around, considering how Loki was laughing" Tiona muses, contemplating a way to convince him to join.
"Don't strain yourself too much, I wouldn't want your little brain to explode" snorts Tiona seeing her twin steeling her brain for an alternative. She doesn't particularly care for the reborn dragon even two weeks before, although she is at least a little grateful to him for aiding at the camp while they were gone.
"Mph, I couldn't care less what he does" Bete quips as he's leaning against the wall " Nevertheless if he comes back he doesn't have to beat around the bush" he snorts heading off somewhere.
"Jerk" Tiona states sticking her tongue out at him.
"I'd say leave him alone for now" Gareth adds "Despite his excitement at seeing the various landscapes of the dungeon, he must still be very confused about everything. We may not know how a monster thinks, but he must still be a little shaken by his own death."
Unbeknownst to Gareth, the Loki familia, and Eltanin himself, it was through his Skill Grand Master to keep in check all the emotions boiling inside the dragon, all for his own safety."I won't deny that it would be an...interesting addition, but to have him join unwillingly would be counterproductive" agreed Finn "Besides if a monster joined the Loki familia and the matter comes out our reputation would suffer. Have you really never heard anything about monsters being able to speak Loki?"
'Someone must have forcibly dragged his soul into the dungeon, for I don't think the dungeon itself holds such power. It's more likely some god or goddess tampered with the reincarnation system for whatever reason, resulting in this blunder, the question is why?' muses Loki frowning "No, never. Well, keeping him with us will deter a herd of gods who will question his existence, they won't attack him as long as we're around. He's smart, he should know what's best for him."
As the leaders discuss the next step and the new species of monster appearing on the deep planes, Ais was lost in thought.
She couldn't stop thinking about his behaviour on the 51st floor. Effectively, he saved her companions from certain death and later helped them as well, so she might have to give him the benefit of the doubt, but when she saw that black dragon everything went off the rails. In a moment of blind fury she attacked him, nearly hurting Aki in the process, but it was also true they had no way of knowing whether or not he was lying about his intentions for getting to the surface. Logic would have said it wasn't possible, but he was acting too much like a human to not be left in doubt.
She was convinced monsters were simply incapable of interaction, so they had to be killed, but now? She doesn't know what to think anymore. If it wasn't for him her surrogate mother figure and her companions would surely be dead, or at least most of them.
Was that dragon really an enemy of humanity? Should she point her sword at him if he attacked someone? Were there others like him? Did she unknowingly kill any inside the dungeon? If so, how many monsters did she slay who in reality only wanted to live in peace?
Her questions grow and the lack of answers fuels the doubts assailing her.
Red light district...
Honestly? The conversation with the Loki familia ruined my appetite. I know they won't say anything because bringing a monster, a new kind of dragon from the 58th floor and a dangerous one at that, would cause them a lot of trouble if it got out, but I couldn't enjoy the ramen and various kinds of sushi in the restaurants I visited. I found that I could really eat a lot, despite my small size. That's why when I couldn't get out of my head the hypothetical situations I might end up in if I joined them, I couldn't feel the joy I wanted from the exquisite dishes I tried, which is really annoying especially because Loki knew that by joining them I would avoid myriad questions, and the gods wouldn't pester too much. With all options now gone I figured I'd try to vent my frustration in another way.
So I wandered into the red light district. Here too I saw a huge variety of places and people, even gods, but no girls caught my eye. Some of the beastly women were really pretty, but not enough to make me approach them. After wandering around for a few hours, I found myself in a spot that seemed to be oriental in style, given the presence of many cherry trees and buildings that seemed to have come out of Japan's ancient periods, although there were more modern ones. I continued to observe it for a while, but one window in particular caught my eye.
A fox girl, the breed is called Renard apparently, with long golden hair and big emerald eyes. She's wearing a red kimono with black leaf prints on the right side of the dress, which is a bit open at the top so you can see part of her shoulders and her generous bosom, along with a black yukata and a collar around her neck. She is sitting elegantly and composed on the tatami, her tail wagging from time to time and her ears twitching at loud noises.
I was captivated by that tail, which seems soft as hell.
Once inside I examined the place and told the reception desk about the girl I wanted to rent. It felt really queasy to say it like that since I've never visited a brothel before, but I ignored it. The local matron strongly advised against the Renard one in particular for some reason, but I didn't really care what she had to say and placed my order. I was assigned a room on the fifth floor and headed up there after the room had been prepared.
When the time arrived I pull the sliding door open and enter, closing it once inside. The girl bows briefly while sitting on the tatami.
"I've been waiting for you" she says kindly and quite submissively, making me raise an eyebrow at the unexpected behaviour "I thank you for staying with me tonight. My name is Haruhime."
The room is also in old Japanese style, complete with a double futon next door. The girl stands up and takes me by the hand.
"Please, this way" so we step into the room, however something unexpected happened "Kya!"
She tripped over her feet and fell on the futon. The scene caught me so off guard that I couldn't even blink an eye. For some reason, her kimono came loose, almost making her generous breasts pop out.
"Um...is everything okay?" I ask not too sure what just happened. The girl sits up, red as a beet, before noticing her state and then looking at me more closely.
"awawawa" and eventually she passes out. She falls with a soft thud onto the futon.
"Huh?" was the only sound that came out of my mouth.
Grand Master didn't find a solution to the problem and remained silent.
Soon after...
"I am deeply sorry for showing such an embarrassing scene!" she apologized heavily still red in the face.
She recovered after about twenty minutes, but from then on she never looked at me again. When she tries, she gets embarrassed again and quickly averts her eyes. We are now sitting on the futon.
"So what happened? You blacked out pretty bad there. Are you not okay?" I ask curiously and she shakes her head embarrassed, her eyes still closed.
"N-no...is...just something that happens...when I see a man...naked..." she replies trying not to sound stupid.
The wheels in my head spin for a moment to understand what I just heard.
"I'm not naked, I'm wearing trousers..." I had bought some shorts with some fur around the waist, coming down to my knees and some spare underwear that I left at an inn, in a room I rented. I decided not to wear a shirt in case I needed my wings or claws so I didn't even need any shoes. I needed my feet on the ground to create ice otherwise I would have frozen my shoes too.
"I-I..." she hides her face with the sleeves of her kimono, too mortified to look at me.
Then I got an idea.
"The problem is the sight is it?" I ask receiving a nod from her. I look around and see that there were other things in the room anyway such as towels, bandages, ropes and more... after all it was a brothel, they had to please the customers, I suppose "Okay, wait a minute."
I take one of the bandages and wrap it inside Haruhime's eyes, confusing her.
"Uh... what are you doing?" she asks unsure of the tight bandage around her head.
"If you faint from the view that's a problem, let's try a blindfold" I reply taking off my clothes.
Her ears twitch as she hears me and her blush becomes even darker. She stands up and gets off the futon, then with mechanical movements, she unbuttons her clothes, making them slide off her body fluidly, leaving her with only panties and white socks. I look mesmerized at her slender body, with pale skin devoid of any imperfection. From her flawless facial features, to the roundness of her breasts, large and firm, with peach-coloured aureoles proportionate to their size, even though her nipples are inverted, to her wide waist with long, flowing legs.
The canons of beauty in this world are really on another level from what I have seen so far.
She walks over to me and sits down, waiting, stiff as a board.
"W-what do you want to start with?" her voice shakes a little.
Is she having trouble with work? Then again, it's not my problem after all.
I think about it for a moment then answer.
"I'll do it" I move closer to her and gently start with a kiss. Her lips are soft, I tap against her teeth with my tongue to silently tell her that she should open her mouth, and she seems to understand. My tongue enters her mouth and I begin to explore it, twisting my tongue around hers and enjoying the peachy taste.
Renard moans during the kiss, but not wanting to stop there I gently push her down, making her lean against the mattress, moving on top of her during the kiss. I grasp her breasts, entranced by the feel of my fingers sinking into the large soft orbs. The girl gasps as I break the action and continue massaging her breasts.
"Haah...ahh...q-what's... your-mnn...name?" she asks between moans remembering that I didn't introduce myself.
"Eltanin" I reply as I kiss her again, but this time I don't deepen it. I started to leave a trail of kisses, on the corner of her lips, on her neck, on her collarbone until I reached her chest. She was holding her hands clawed at the covers so she wouldn't try to cover herself, but I ignore it. As I continue to play with her cleavage, I start to lick the right nipple, and Haruhime moans when my rough tongue rubs a very sensitive place for her. I make circular motions over the aureole, before starting to lick around more around the tip, and before long her nipple hardens and remains erect. I suck it rather hard, making the girl gasp, while with my left hand I attend to the other breast, continuing to knead while I rub the other top with one of my fingers. The girl bites her lips as she stifles her own that she doesn't want to emit.
After a bit of playing with her breasts, I kiss her again as I run a hand under her panties and rub her entrance. Haruhime lets out a muffled cry during the kiss, which she doesn't reciprocate well as I rub her outer lips. I dip a finger in, but then freeze when I feel an obstruction. I stop kissing her and look at her puzzled.
"Just so I know, since the situation is somewhat peculiar. Do you work here regularly?" I ask not too convinced.
The panting girl takes a few moments to calm the heart pounding in her chest, still flushed with excitement and embarrassment. She sits up and 'looks' at me confused.
"Y-yes...at night many...clients come here...to satisfy..." she replies uncomfortably, clearly a subject she doesn't like to talk about.
"Then why are you a virgin?" I ask feeling a twinge of worry about what I might come to find out.
"E-eh? What are you talking about?" she asks in a slightly cracked voice "I...I'm a prostitute...I've sold my body to many men, there's no way I'm a virgin."
Did I touch a sensitive subject? Or an old trauma? Even so I take her hand and move her panties uncovering her maidenhood before plunging one of her fingers inside, making her moan but stiffen in shock seconds later.
"That's the membrane of your hymen, I'm pretty sure" I reply flatly.
"E-eh? How's that...how's that possible?" she asks lost and I shrug my shoulders having already figured out what happened so far.
"Get dressed, we need to talk" I whisper hoping not to get in trouble.
"..." she is dumbfounded for a while as I put my clothes back on and go into the next room, sitting on a tatami by the window. I watch the red light district feeling a terrible foreboding.
The Renard comes out after a few minutes looking down and takes a seat in front of me, now dressed.
"Are you going to ask for a refund since you're not satisfied?" she asks looking down at her hands in her lap dejectedly.
"Not if you answer the questions I'm going to give you" I explain surprising her enough to make her raise her head, confused "Obviously the people who paid for you left asking for a refund because you would pass out at the slightest hint of sex, yet why did you join a family that runs brothels? It's obviously not a job for you and you're not capable of running it. You'd just be losing money.
She stares at me in amazement, before her two ears drop and her expression becomes suddenly grim.
"I'm not originally from Orario, I'm from the far east. More precisely from an island surrounded by the sea. I was the daughter of a nobleman and lived a very sheltered life, until I was disowned by my father for offending a god I was supposed to serve. A palum who served in the palace helped me get off the island to take me to some of his acquaintances, but we were attacked by monsters on the road and he ran away, leaving me behind. I survived somehow, but human traffickers found me and kidnapped me. By necessity, I arrived in Orario and Ishtar-sama bought me and brought me here.
I listened to her story in silence and I feel upset. For someone who has lived protectively all the time it must have been hard, but Ishtar shouldn't have a valid reason to keep her in a brothel if she only causes losses. She would have been more useful just as a maid. Was she waiting for something? Or does she simply not care anymore as her revenue is massive running an entire district like this?
'Something is wrong and I don't like it...' I mumble "Putting aside the recent discovery, why did you stay here? If it's not a job you want to do nor a place you'd like to stay, couldn't you have discussed it with your goddess?" even if she's similar to the Ishtar of the Epic of Gilgamesh I'd understand why she didn't.
"The other prostitutes and amazons are kind to me, while Ishtar-sama said I was needed here... so I stayed not being able to leave" she replies touching her black collar.
Expanding my senses with magical perception I can feel the device attached to her neck continuously sends impulses to the tower in the middle of the district. Probably to track her down if she moves from this structure. And as I suspected the story reeks of trouble indeed.
"And you never tried to call for help? Even if it was just to try and get someone to rescue you" I inquire softly, wondering if she even tried to ask for help.
"I...I'm just a prostitute. I can't hope for a hero to come and save me" she says sadly. "I have always loved stories where heroes save princesses, but I am a prostitute. A symbol of ruin. So I can't be saved."
"...Look I can't tell if you're kidding me or you're really serious" I shake my head skeptically, staring at her "there's really nothing wrong with reading myths and legends, but we're talking about real life here, your life. You can't expect a hero in shining armour to come and save you, the world doesn't work like that."
There are such cases, but they are isolated and rare. Heroes are called heroes precisely because their behaviour is abnormal, in everyday life, few would behave as they do.
"I know...that's why there's no need to save me. It's fine for me to have no hopes or dreams, in the end I would only bring trouble to the person who would try to reach out to me."
Her pessimism is deeply rooted but I don't fault her. I don't really have a reason to help her, trying to do so would bring me trouble with one of the larger factions of Orario who is probably entangled with something shady, so the best choice in my situation would be to pretend I haven't met her and look the other way.
Yet...I really can't do that. I would feel like a piece of shit seeing someone so desperate, silently praying for their own salvation. I don't want to play the hero, but I know what it's like to be locked in a cage and I wouldn't sleep peacefully knowing I'd abandoned her. I'll help her, at least this time.
"Sigh, and I just wanted a night to blow off some steam..." I complain in a low voice "I'll figure something out, but let's go to sleep now, I want to avoid any more surprises for today."
She looks stunned and completely confused by my statement.
"S-sleep? But we're still in the middle of the night..."
"I paid to have you all to myself until tomorrow, so I can do with my time what I want no?I'm tired and I would like to sleep."
"Y-yes..." she replies embarrassed at the idea of spending the night with someone of the opposite sex.
Really, who on earth made me do this? Ah, of course, that soft golden tail of hers I hugged the whole night until I fell asleep.
