Onto Something Big
The Timedoor winked out of existence behind Loki and Mobius as they returned to the TVA, dusting ash from their clothing and hair. The god flashed his supervisor an excited grin, evidently pleased that their experiment had proved his theory to be true. He couldn't help but to return it with a smile of his own.
"You're not that bad at this. I might have to see if I can convince Ravonna to give you a full time position here." Mobius joked- they both knew that it'd never happen.
Loki rolled his eyes. "As if I'd accept it."
"Mmm...good point. Not your thing."
"Now what do we do?"
"Now, we stop by my desk, grab some files, and hit the archives again." Mobius told him. "The job's only half done."
A throat cleared and they both frowned, turning to look at the newcomer.
Great.
It was Ravonna Renslayer herself. "Mobius, a word?"
"Yeah. Okay." He nodded, reluctantly agreeing. It wasn't like he could say no to her anyway, she was his boss for crying out loud. To Loki, he said,"Meet me in the archives. I won't be long."
"Right." And off he went, not without flashing an irritated look at him before he rounded the corner.
"Don't get lost!" Mobius called after him.
"Mobius." Ravonna's voice was firm, dragging his attention back to her.
"Quid opus est tibi?" He asked.
"Latin, Mobius?" She frowned.
He returned the frown, mentally smacking himself. "Sorry. Just got back from Pompeii."
"You took the variant to Pompeii? Do you know how dangerous that could've been?" She hissed.
"Ravonna, it's fine. He didn't do anything." Mobius assured her.
She sighed. "What were you doing in Pompeii?"
"Testing a theory." He told her. "I'll explain it later, I promise."
"Why do I get the feeling that I won't like where you're going with this?"
"Trust me, it's gonna be good." He offered a small smile, and she rolled her eyes. "He's onto something, something big. We're close, Ravonna. I know it."
"I hope so, Mobius. But next time, tell me before you take the variant out on the field." Ravonna advised.
"I will." He promised.
With that said, he spun around in the direction Loki'd gone and let his feet lead him towards the archives. They had work to do.
