A/N: First and foremost this story is Rated for strong language, violence, and adult situations.
Thanks to everyone who was liked this story so far, and to answer a Guest review, no I'm not getting rid of my Rangers Series stories. But I'll try to focus on them along with my Fairy Tail stories equally. Romeo has shown up like three months before Tenrou gets back. Also in regards to Romeo slight behavior change... He was trained by Acnologia... for seven years. He's not "evil" but he won't be a saint.
This Chapter was re-edited and Beta by BarelyProdigies, author of such great Naruto fanfic like: Something You Can't Ignore and Ill-Fated, check out his stories if you get the chance. (He's great at fight scenes).
Chapter 1
Home
Ragnarok.
Armageddon.
Dagor Dagorath.
The End Times.
Throughout history, these words, as well as countless others, have been repeated time and time again and they all share a single common theme.
Destruction.
On such a massive scale that all life as we know it comes to an end.
The Four Horsemen, The Seven Seals, and the number of the Beast. In some cultures of the world, these take a profound meaning as they are the herald of the end and the coming of either eternal salvation...or damnation.
But there are some in this reality who would seek to harness the power of the Apocalypse and use it for their own gain. But this is an impossible task to accomplish alone, so one must gather talented individuals to their cause in order to achieve this, either by their own free will…
Or by force.
The boy crashes through the bushes in a dead sprint as he bolted through the forest, looking back over his shoulder every few seconds to check behind him. The full moon shone brightly that night and it provided him with enough light to see at least a few feet in all directions, a small blessing considering what he was running away from. Probably be best for him if he didn't see the monstrosity that was after him.
The sound of rustling in the nearby trees draws his attention once more behind him where a shrill voice shouted out.
"Oh, Little Claw! Where are you? Tonight might be the night that I finally catch you!"
The boy's legs push even harder, now properly motivated by a level of fear that had now increased tenfold since the chase began. In his hurry, he trips over a tree root that he failed to spot and is sent tumbling to the forest floor, rolling until he landed face-first into a nearby river, the shock of the cold water aiding in helping him back to his feet and racing as fast as he could through the freezing waters to the other side.
Once he was far enough away that the sound of the running waters faded away he stops to catch his breath all the while listening, straining his ear in order to hear every sound.
At first, there was nothing, all that could be heard was the wind gently blowing through the night forest. A lone wolf howls in the distance and a few crickets sang their song a couple of feet away from him. The seconds ticked by in an agonizing manner as the boy waited and waited for any sort of sound that would indicate the whereabouts of his pursuer.
Were they near? Were they far? Have they lost track of him?
He didn't know so all he could do was listen and wait while catching his breath while still being all the ready to take off on a moment's notice for just a split second could spell the difference between life and death for him. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he relaxes and allows himself a breather.
And that's when he heard it.
It was faint, so much that it was barely negligible but it was there.
A sound that made his blood freeze within his veins. A sound that has been drilled into him over countless nights to fear.
The sound of rapidly flapping wings and they were coming from right above him.
The boy once more breaks off into a panicked sprint not even bothering to look up. He didn't look up when the booming crackle of thunder sounded overhead. He didn't look up as large bolts of lightning dance across the night sky. He didn't even look up when the rain began to pour down, soaking the ground and turning it into mud in an instant.
He didn't need to look up because he already knew who was above him and what they were doing.
They were eyeing their next meal with sadistic glee, licking their lips as they watch him flee into the forest. If anything, they were only giving him a head start so that they could savor the hunt.
So he just ran. He ran even though the rain was now limiting his line of sight. He ran even though the muddy ground was now making it diffcult for him but he didn't care. He just ran and pray to any god that was listening that it would be enough.
"Ready or not, Little Claw, here I come!", the voice said as cackling maniacal laughter fills his ears.
His eyes snap open and the boy finds himself scrambling to his feet, his hands instantly going behind his back and latches onto two handles, but before he could go any further he realizes something.
He wasn't in the woods and it definitely wasn't raining. He was instead standing in the middle of a field while a full moon shone brightly in the sky. A small fire was burning next to him and on the other side of the alluring flames was a small figure, its eyes closed and arms crossed.
"You had that dream again, didn't you?", the figure ask.
A simple nod of the head was the boy's only reply.
"Hmph, those nights are behind you now", the figure states, "You should try and get some rest; we leave at first light."
The boy stares up at the moon, taking in its glamorous appearance for a while before laying back down on the ground and even though it took a moment, he once more drifted back to sleep all the while praying that that nightmare wouldn't invade his mind for a second time this night. Though in the back of his mind he swore he could still hear the rapid flapping of wings.
Magnolia Town
X791
The figure stood on top of the hill that overlooked the town of Magnolia on the mild summer day. To anyone who happened to be looking up that way that would have seen:
A boy who had just passed through the door into his teenage years with short purple hair and large blue eyes that was as strong as he looked.
He was muscular, mostly around his abdominal, chest, and a little in his arms. He was wearing a long, black, sleeveless open jacket with orange edges that revealed a portion of his muscular chest and held closed around his waist by an orange sash tied by a knot on his left hip. His legs were covered by loose, white pants reaching down below his knees, paired with low, dark laced boots. Around his neck was a white scarf adorned by a wavy motif, and he had orange bandages wrapped around his arms. He was also sporting a regular size backpack slung over his left shoulder. Finally, he had on around his lower back a single curved black sheath that had two handles sticking out of it on either end.
"Wow, I can't believe how much they've rebuilt this place within the past seven years", the purple-haired boy thought to himself as a shadow passes overhead and a small silver bipedal cat with golden eyes and a claw mark across his face lands on his shoulder.
"We didn't come all this way for you to see the town from afar Romeo", the cat grumbled while staring straight ahead, "Let's get going."
"Can't I stop for a moment Bana, and take in the sight?" Romeo asked, "The last time I saw this place it was up in flames, and a large number of the buildings were reduced to rubble."
"Master was benevolent enough to allow you to make this place our base of operations where we'll be receiving missions from here on out", Bana reminded Romeo.
"You and I both know the real reason why he allowed me to work out of Magnolia", Romeo chuckled darkly, "It's to make sure I know firsthand what's at stake whenever an assignment comes my way from now on."
Bana nods his head, "You refuse a mission he destroys Magnolia, you fail a mission he destroys Magnolia. Yes, I'm fully aware of the Master's extremely high standards. That is all the more reason for you to stop staring and start preparing."
Romeo turns to look at Bana with an annoyed look, he then points toward the center of the city.
"See that building in the middle of town?" Romeo asks.
Bana searches for a moment in the direction Romeo was pointing to before nodding his head, "Looks like a church, what of it?"
"That's Kardia Cathedral, the same place where Natsu-nii, Gajeel, Laxus, Erza, and Mystogan fought during the Battle for Fairy Tail seven years ago. Despite having three S-Class mages and two powerful Dragon-Slayers fighting within its walls it was still standing afterward. I saw Acnologia plow through that entire building like it was a piece of cardboard, turning it into a pile of rocks in a blink of an eye. What his body didn't destroy, his whipping tail did", Romeo started to explain, "He didn't even slow down as he did it, he just kept going. He probably didn't even consider it an inconvenience."
"Okay, what-" Bana started to ask.
"That park over there to the south part of town", Romeo interrupted while pointing once again to which Bana frowned and looked, "That's where the annual Blossom-Viewing Festival is held every year. The whole town would gather there to watch the Rainbow Sakura trees glow into the colors of the rainbow. Fairy Tail would hold a party while waiting for the trees to change colors along with a bingo tournament. That's where Acnologia landed when he descended that day, landing with such force that he created a crater that enveloped the entire park and turned all the trees to splinters."
"Romeo this is pointless-", Bana tried again.
"And if you look to the north you'll see it", Romeo continued on, not even hearing Bana at this point, "There stands the guild hall of the former most powerful guild in Fiore, Fairy Tail. I've seen so many large scale brawls break out in that place that I lost count. It has withstood those fights, the Magic Council, and even attacks from other guilds. Yet the day he arrived, all it took was a single tail swipe to bring it all crashing down while all I could do was watch in horror."
Romeo was quiet for a moment afterward as he continued to look upon his home, "I barely had time to get down from the top of it before Acnologia came smashing through it when he first arrived in Magnolia."
"Romeo" Bana said
"But look at it all now, the guild hall, the cathedral, the park, everything's been rebuild to what it once was. This town has been reborn and it's living proof that anyone can bounce back from hard times", Romeo said as he turned to look at Bana.
"And that's what you're here to do?", Bana asked, "I'm still finding it hard to believe that the Master is allowing you to join a mage guild, let alone one that lost its own original guild hall."
"Natsu-nii, Wendy-nee, and the rest of them are gone; I have learned to accept that. Fairy Tail has lost all of its heavy hitters' thanks to Acnologia, and because of that, the guild has dropped down to being the weakest on the entire continent. But now I'm here and I've been trained by the most powerful dragon alive. With you, by my side Bana we'll bring Fairy Tail back to its former glory. That's why we're here", Romeo boasted with pride, "We'll do the assignments given to us by Acnologia, and we'll also make Fairy Tail the pride of Fiore once again and reclaim the old guildhall."
"And maybe one day in the future I'll be strong enough to..." Romeo thinks to himself before Bana's voice shakes him out of his thoughts.
"Just remember that Fairy Tail is the reason why you were trained and are now owned by Master Acnologia.", Bana pointed out, "I advise that you don't forget that."
Romeo's face takes on an emotionless expression as he starts to remember all the pain he was put through over the last seven years as part of his training. The vicious beatings, the hellish exercise routine, and him having to go extended periods of time without food or sleep was brutal. All so Acnologia could mold him into a weapon ready to be unleashed upon his enemies.
But then a smile comes across his face as he remembers the day that started it all over seven years ago…
"I can't really blame Natsu and the others for that. After all it was Acnologia they were up against", Romeo chuckled as he started walking down the hill toward Magnolia, "And after all, I was the one who hit the Dragon King."
A/N: More coming later, along with fight scenes, Bana's story, and what Romeo carrying on his waist and in the bag, also Romeo's training with Acnologia, though some ideas on some extreme training routine would be nice.
Bana (older than Happy and Carla, but younger than Panther lily)
Omake:
Romeo: What's in the F*king bag?!
Me: Has he been watching Se7en?
Bana: Maybe?
Me: Goddamn it.
