"Dannazione, Luca! Why the hell did you do that?" Luca cursed. "You got your best chance and you blew it!"
"Your chances of ever becoming Alberto's boyfriend?" Giulia said. "Yeah, you're screwed."
"What can I do? We have two more years before we graduate and I don't want to think about it for that long!" Luca panicked.
"Why don't you tell him when Fall Break comes?" Giulia suggested. "It's coming up in a couple weeks and if you want, we could spend it Portorosso."
"I-I can't do it by myself!" Luca cried. "He said too much and now I don't know what to do or say!"
"I can help you," said a voice.
"Vaffanculo, Marco!" Luca shouted.
"Look, Luca. What I did then—let's put it simply—I wasn't in my right mind. I acted without thinking," Marco said.
"Why should I trust you?" Luca said.
"I'm sorry, Luca. I really am," Marco said. "That's enough, isn't it for your naive brain to process?"
"I am not naive, Marco!" Luca said.
Marco chuckled. "I said I wanna help you, right? Well, how else do you think I get all the guys in school all over my motherfuckin' palle. And what about yours? Nothing."
"OK then. I accept your help," Luca said.
Giulia pulled him aside. "Luca, are you nuts?"
"What choice do I have? He's gonna cream mine if don't do something about it!" Luca cried.
"Oh per l'amore delle trenette al pesto!" Giulia said. "Fine. But if he does anything else to you that's classified as sexual abuse, call me."
"You got it, Giulia. I won't let you down!" Luca said, running off with Marco.
"I believe you already have," Giulia said.
