Several years later...
Alberto and Luca now have a daughter named Camilla Paguro-Scorfano and a son named Emilio Paguro-Scorfano.
Camilla and her brother ran around Alberto's and Luca's penthouse.
"Aren't they precious?" Alberto asked.
"Sure are," Luca said. "Do you ever think that they'll grow up to learn about where they came from?"
"You mean that they're actually sea monsters?" Alberto said.
Luca nodded.
"They're old enough to know," Alberto said.
Alberto called Camilla and Emilio over. "Alright, bambini, gather 'round! It's storytime!"
After they were sitting down, Alberto and Luca began telling them the whole story.
"So to sum it up, we're both sea monsters," Luca said. "And we turn into humans when on land. But remember, Camilla and Emilio, that when you come into contact with any water, even if it's splashed on you, your true form will be revealed."
"Is that bad?" Camilla asked.
"Well, it used to be," Luca said. "We used to have to hide it quite well until one day the rain blew it for us."
"That was towards the end of the race, right?" Emilio said. "I still can't believe how brutal they were to Dad. I mean, why did they net him up?"
"Humans thought we were a threat," Alberto said. "But I'll tell you what: I've been living up here for as long as I remember and that's complete and utter bullshit by now."
"Yeah," Luca said with a chuckle. "Even we sea monsters were warned not to go up to the surface because humans kill sea monsters. I mean, my parents weren't wrong, but they weren't right either. We thought they were a threat to us peaceful creatures just trying to live our lives. But we soon learned that if you find the right people in Portorosso, you'll be accepted and loved for who you are."
"So that's why sea monsters are treated normally now?" Camilla said.
"That's so cool!" Emilio exclaimed.
"Tell us about your high school days when you were Captain of the Portorosso High Swim Team!" Camilla and Emilio jinxed.
Luca chuckled. "Not tonight, guys. Tomorrow's a school day. You've gotta wake up really early for your first day of boarding school."
"So that means we won't be homeschooled anymore?" Camilla asked.
"No, mio dolce bambina," Luca replied, turning out the lights and kissing their foreheads. "Buona notte, guys. I love you."
"Do you think they're ready?" Alberto asked.
"Sure they are," Luca said. "8th grade won't be that bad."
"And high school was bad," Alberto remarked.
Remembering, Luca shook his head. "Not that bad as you remember me telling you about it," Luca said. "Marco and I made up, I made a new friend from the opposing school that we were facing during the swim match. See? People change. That is, if they're willing to. And to be honest, that's 100% of the time."
He smiled at Alberto. "This penthouse," he said. "How the hell'd we get it again?"
"Sometimes it's just the way things work out," Alberto replied, rolling over on his side. "Buona notte, Luca."
Luca rolled onto Alberto's side, cuddling him tight. Alberto didn't seem to mind at all. "Buona notte, Alberto."
