"Here we are!" Violetta said. "The girls' and boys' dormitory buildings! Go on ahead! Make yourselves at home!"

Emilio looked at Camilla and then back at Violetta. "I will never make myself at home," he said.

"Oh, don't be such a guastafeste, Emilio!" Camilla said. "This school is top-notch! It's gotta be beautiful inside!"

Camilla ran inside the Girls' Dormitory Unit and found her room. Emilio did the same, but ran into the Boys' Unit instead.

"Shit," Emilio said. "It's gonna rain."

"Good thing you're inside pretty much the whole day with classes!" chirped a boy. "I'll be your roommate! Allow me to introduce myself! I'm Dante Stefano!"

"Uh, hi, Dante," said Emilio. "I'm Emilio Paguro-Scorfano." He held out his hand. "Here's a little thing one of my dads taught me. Piacere, Girolamo Trombetta."

"Nice," Dante said. "Well, while we're at it, I wanna show you our room."

Emilio spaced out, looking at a rainbow outside. "Whoa! What's that?"

"It's a rainbow. Haven't you ever seen one before?"

Emilio shook his head. "Only at my house on a flag that my parents have."

"Well, this is the real deal, Emilio," Dante said. "Isn't it beautiful?"

Without thinking, Emilio grabbed both of Dante's hands and held them up to the rainbow. "Much better," he said. "It's much more beautiful that you're here to share it with me."

Dante backed away. "Are you crazy? How could you be flirting with me? We just met a few seconds ago."

"But it's beautiful and I think it represents me," Emilio said. "I'm still unsure, though because I also think Violetta D'Angelo is pretty damn cute."

"You're discovering yourself. That's good. Very good," said Dante. "But we've gotta get outta here before Headmistress Romani discovers you're bisexual."

"Why is she so discriminatory?" Emilio asked. "If I were her, I'd tell her to rilassarsi a little bit!"

"If you did that, you'd get your culo kicked," Dante said.

"I don't care," Emilio said. "If she's OK that I'm a sea monster, then she better be OK with me being bisessuale."

"Cool! What happens if I splash water on you?" Dante said.

"Please don't," Emilio said. "I don't like it. But if it's an accident, I completely understand."

"What about semen?" Dante asked.

Emilio blushed. "Th-that's n-not water. I-it's a body fluid," he said.

Dante grabbed Emilio by the arm and they ran to their dorm room. "We'll talk more later."

When the boys arrived, Emilio's face was no longer red.

"You really should try out for the swim team," Dante said.

"Uh, that's not my thing," Emilio said.

"C'mon, dude! You'd be great at it!" Dante exclaimed.

"Is Violetta there?" Emilio asked. "Will you be there?"

Dante looked at Emilio. "You have a crush on both of us, don't you?"

"Yeah! And I have no goddamn idea how to deal with it!" Emilio cried. "I feel so new to the world I was practically born into with so much more that I need to understand!"

Dante put a reassuring hand on his roommate's shoulder. "I'm not part of the community, but I'm here for you, amico," he said. "Everything may seem confusing now, but I promise you that everything will turn out good in the end."

"Don't we have classes today?" Emilio said.

"It's orientation," Dante said. "Relax. They never hold classes in the Lecture Hall on the first day for everyone."

"Phew! That's nice!" Emilio said.

"Sure is," Dante said. "Say, you want a drink?"

"Me? Drink?" Emilio said. "I-I'm good, thank you."

"No problem," Dante said. "I'll give you a water."

Oh shit, Emilio thought, but then realised that it might not be such a bad idea anyway.

"Sure," Emilio said. "I'll drink some water. Thanks."

"Di niente," Dante replied, giving Emilio a water bottle.

In the distance, Giovanni was watching. His plan was to bribe Emilio and Camilla into getting their parents' Vespa whether they complied or not.
