Welp. Here goes nothing.

I own only any OC's I can come up with. Which would probably be clones anyways. Do you think they would be owned by Star Wars too then? Hmm. Anyways, I don't own any of the Star Wars characters. Wish I did though lol.

Also, I'm already gonna warn you that updates are not going to be scheduled, as my actual schedule is chaotic. If I don't update for a time it means I either got lazy, I'm incredibly tired from work, or I just haven't time to do anything.

The best confidence builder is experience.

Rishi Moon. A dark, habitable…boring place to be. At least for a clone it is. Not being able to leave the outpost there due to it's other…inhabitants - along with no frontline action happening - many a clone here found boredom and each other to be their true enemies.

"This is the deck officer checking in. Nothing going on," radioed in Sentry. "As usual."

On the inside, his clone brethren were listening to music on the stereo system in the outpost, to help stay awake. "You're listening to the Grand Army of the Republic Broadcast, the voice of the Outer Rim. This next one goes out to the Mud Jumpers of the 224th, slugging it out on Mimban. Keep your heads down and your seals tight boys," called a female voice.

"Ahahaha yes!" exclaimed Hevy after winning an arm wrestle with Cutup. "Ha. Who's next, Fives?"

"Um, shouldn't you be watching your scope Hevy?" questioned Echo.

"Yeah. Let's take a look. Hmm, what do you know, all clear. Just like the last hundred times I looked at it," Hevy complained.

"Personally I like that it's so quiet out here," Echo replied. "I can catch up on the reg manuals."

"Echo, what is wrong with you?" Droidbait yelled. "We should be out on the frontlines blastin' droids."

"Ah, leave 'im alone," Cutup chimed in. "They kept him in his growth jar too long."

"Yeah," Fives and the others laughed.

"You uh may not realize it yet Fives, but you landed on the most boring outpost on the Outer Rim," Droidbait lamented.

"And the most important," their sergeant, O'Niner, interjected.

"Attention! Sergeant on deck!" Fives called out, Cutup stopping the music. All clones immediately snapped to attention to hear any incoming orders.

"At ease," O'Niner spoke. "Even though you're all new here, I shouldn't have to remind you that this quadrant is key to the Outer Rim," he lectured as he paced in front of the men. "If the droids get past this station they can surprise-attack the facilities where we were born on our home world of Kamino." He stopped directly in front of them. "There are some officers on the way, so I want everything squared away for inspection. Understood?"

"Sir, yes, sir!" rang out among the clones.

Meanwhile on the Venator Star Destroyer (VSD) Resolute Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi stared out the window pondering. He then turned back to the command table where he was surprised to see fellow Jedi General Anakin Skywalker still there. "Still here, Anakin. When was the last time you slept?"

"I'll sleep after we find General Grievous," a determined Anakin replied. Finding and ridding the galaxy of Grievous would be instrumental if not also relieving for the entire galaxy as this bloody war dragged out. "Clone intelligence spotted him in the Balmorra system. But that was weeks ago. Since then, he vanished."

"Well, unlike you, maybe he's getting some much-needed rest."

"Excuse me, General. Incoming transmission from Commander Cody," Admiral Yularen announced.

"General Kenobi, General Skywalker," Cody addressed, standing firm and at attention.

"Cody. How goes the inspections?" Obi-Wan asked his friend.

"The tracking station is Pastil is fully operational. Captain Rex, Kix, and I are proceeding to the outpost in the Rishi system."

"Good. Report back once you've arrived."

"Copy that. Cody out," then the transmission ended.

"Good man, that Cody," Obi-Wan praised. "Don't worry, Anakin. If General Grievous comes anywhere near this quadrant, we'll know about it."

Back on Rishi Moon Outpost, something slightly interesting was about to happen. "Sir incoming meteor shower," Fives announced.

"Raise the shield," said O'Niner. Fives did as instructed.

"You wanted excitement, Hevy," Cutup mocked.

"Right. Oooooh, meteor shower," was the mocked back.

Outside the shielded outpost, large flaming space rocks pounded into the surface! Of course, the shields took the damage from the ones that could've wiped the outpost off the face of the planet and kept it nice and safe. Sentry scanned the area of impact, to confirm the meteor shower and any possible changes to the land. Which confused him greatly when he saw a…pod? "What the…?"

If his visor wasn't zoomed in on the metal pod, maybe he could've seen the new commando droid approaching him. Maybe he could've even escaped. But he didn't. And said commando droid was just a distraction, as another came behind him and electrocuted him, killing him instantly.

The first one dragged away his body to hide. Then the pod opened, and more commando droids fell out. The second one relayed to the third, "Get these doors open."

"Roger, roger." The droid proceeded to open the access panel and play with the wires.

"CT-327, report in." Static. "Sentry, do you copy?" the Sergeant tried.

"Interference from the meteors?" Echo wondered.

"I don't see him down there, Sarge," Fives commented.

"You two," O'Niner pointed at Droidbait and Nub, "Go find him."

The two clones grabbed their helmets and put them on while running, Nub grabbing a blaster on their way out. The blast doors suddenly opened, and the commando droids entered blasters drawn. "Droids!" yelled Droidbait. The commandos begin firing as they advanced.

O'Niner quickly strapped on his helmet and grabbed another blaster and begin to return fire! "Sound the alarm!" he ordered to Echo.

"They've disabled the beacon!" Echo replied after it didn't work.

O'Niner, the seasoned clone he was, tossed the wounded Droidbait up to Echo, while still blasting. 'No brothers left behind,' he thought as he returned to his cover. Meanwhile, Fives, Cutup, and Hevy pulled on their helmets. "Get a message to the fleet! We have to warnOH!" shot in the leg. He rolled over to continue firing in desperation to protect his rookies, only for his weapon to be kicked away and be executed by multiple pointblank shots.

"Sarge!" Echo cried out.

After putting O'Niner down, the commandos fired at the retreating clones. Cutup closed the door to buy themselves some time, afterwards ripping out the wires. "That should slow those buckets down."

"This way! Hurry!" a now helmeted Echo directed as he opened the maintenance shaft to escape.

"No we can-" Fives began but was cut off.

"There's too many!" Echo warned while Hevy carried Droidbait down after Cutup. Fives followed Echo down, and pulled the shaft closed.

The commando droids finally finished cutting through the door and into the command center. "Five clones escaped sir."

"They don't matter. Hard-wire the all-clear signal and contact General Grievous."

Aboard the Separatist warship, General Grievous listened to his incoming transmission from the Rishi Moon Outpost. "The outpost is secure General. We shut down the alarm and turned on the all-clear signal."

"Excellent," the monstrosity replied. "Keep that signal alive. I don't want the Republic to find out we're coming."

"General, our spy on Kamino is making contact," announced a B1 battledroid.

"All the preparation for your invasion are in order," stated one Asajj Ventress.

"Good. Our fleet is approaching the system." Replied Grievous. "We are almost at the rendezvous point."

"Very good, my lord. I will await your arrival."

"The destruction of Kamino will stop their production of clones for good.

A shuttle approached the moon. "Rishi Outpost, this is Commander Cody. Do you copy?" Static. "Rishi Outpost, please respond."

On the inside of the outpost and the comm station, the commando droids had put Nub's armor on one theirs. "Open… Open," it adjusted its vocal modulator. "Open commlink channel." It sounded exactly like a clone.

"Rishi Outpost, come in. Rishi outpost, come in!" ordered a now annoyed Cody.

"Sorry commander. We're um experiencing technical difficulties."

"This is the inspection team."

"Inspection? Negative, negative," replied the now nervous droid. "We do not require an inspection. Everything is fine here. Thank you."

And now Cody was ticked off. You do not refuse a commanding officer. Ever. That is the dumbest thing a clone could do, especially one who just got out of training, aside from the fact that mutiny is a major offense. "We'll be the judge of that. Prepare for our arrival."

"Roger, roger." Transmission ended.

"Something's not right here," Rex brooded. His senses had been going haywire as soon as the transmission began.

"Well, good luck. I'm putting you in charge of this one," Cody said, feeling slightly less angry as he ordered his friend.

Below, in the medbay, Kix was feeling similar sentiments as Rex, as the comm was heard throughout the shuttle. "Oh joy," he said sarcastically, packing more med supplies. He had been selected to come with instead of Coric who was helping the wounded after their last battle.

Back on the moon's surface, after kicking open the vent grate, four clones walked (one carrying another) around the many caves on the moon while they assessed their situation. "What do we do without the sarge?" Fives (carrying Droibait) asked.

"The reg manual says the next-" Echo started to be interrupted by a strange sound.

"Wait. Wait. Did you hear that?" Hevy stopped them.

"Yeah, what is that?" Fives asked.

"It doesn't sound like droids," Cutup responded.

"Don't forget about those giant eels," Hevy warned.

"I've never seen-" Echo started, "AAAAAAHHHH!" only for half Cutup's arm to be in the maw of a massive Rishi Moon Eel!

"Cutup!" shouted Fives.

Hevy, the only one with a blaster, fired at it as many times as he could which was four (he missed the first shot). Miraculously though, it distracted the beast long enough for Cutup to pull his crushed arm free and fall to the ground, just before it took him under!

"What the hell was that?" shouted Hevy as Fives (after giving Droidbait to Echo) ran down to Cutup who was unconscious from falling.

"That was an eel. Now, that's why we have the regulation not to go outside," Echo responded, manual in hand.

"Let's move before it comes back," Hevy commanded as Domino Squad's leader.

"Look! It's Commander Cody!" Fives pointed with his free hand as a Nu-class attack shuttle flew overhead. "It's the inspection team."

The shuttle landed on the deck and the bay door opened allowing the 3 clone veterans to leave the ship and inspect this disaster area of an outpost.

"This is not good. I don't see the deck officer anywhere," stated an already on edge Rex.

"These boys are sloppy," Cody scowled. "There should always be an officer on duty." However, no one saw the hiding Commado droids, especially the one putting on clone armor. Kix just checked his weapon, and shook his pack a little, feeling slight comfort in knowing that he had med kits inside to treat any clones who were likely wounded in this clearly not up to standard outpost.

Back down on the surface, the Domino Squad were quite active, despite trying to hide from the eels and carry two of their brothers. "We have to warn them. Get on the commlink," Hevy ordered. Fives and Echo put down Cutup and Droidbait respectively and diligently worked to warn their superior officers.

Meanwhile on the deck, the doors to the outpost suddenly opened and out…'walked' a clone. His movements were very…strange, perhaps even slightly robotic. "I have a bad feeling about this," Cody said.

"Welcome to Rishi, Commander. As you can see, the outpost is operating at peak efficiency. Thank you for visiting and have a safe trip back." spoke the strange moving clone…his voice also not quite right either.

The three clones glanced at each other. "We need to inspect the base just the same," Cody ordered.

"UM, there is no need. Everything is fine and fully operational," the strange clone repeated.

Back on the ground, Hevy, Fives, and Echo continued to try and warn the inspection team. "It's no good. Their comlinks are on a different scramble set," said a frustrated Echo.

"I'll signal them with this flare," Hevy said and shot the flare.

"Take us to the sergeant in command," Rex ordered.

"Roger, roger," the strange clone replied.

And then a red flare fired brightly into the dark sky.

"A droid attack flare?" Cody asked. A response did not come as Rex immediately pulled his blaster and shot the strange clone, now fully understanding just what was making him so on edge. "Whoa, Rex!"

"What the heck are you doing?!" Kix asked.

"Relax," Rex calmly replied. He then removed the helmet from a commando droid that was now sporting a hole on its face. "Just as I thought. Looks like one of those new commando droids."

"That flare must have come from the survivors," Cody realized. Only for heavy blaster fire to nearly miss all three of them.

"Ambush!" Kix yelled, as they fired back while retreating. Meanwhile more and more commando droids revealed themselves as the fight escalated further.

Cody hit one dead on twice…only for it to reset and resume firing. "Ah! Those clankers have tough armor." He hit the same droid 3 or 4 more times for it to finally go down.

More droids revealed themselves from behind the shuttle, forcing Cody to cover their flank while Kix helped Rex. "We're cut off!" Kix yelled.

More droids came out of the outpost, and one threw a grenade. It was a good throw too, as it headed straight for the clones. "Off the platform," Rex ordered!

More droids threw or rolled grenades towards them. "Copy that!" Cody agreed.

And as the clones jumped for their lives, their shuttle and the spot they had some cover blew up.

"No sign of them. They must've been pulverized," stated a droid. Another started 'laughing'. "Resume defensive posts."

Stupid commando droids didn't bother to check to see 3 clones with grappling lines hanging off the platform or watched them descend down to the surface to find the survivors. Or the eel slithering by.

"Well that sure complicates things, Commander," Kix stated.

"No worse than that time on Tibrin," Cody replied.

"We had Jedi with us on Tibrin," Rex lamented. "They helped." Just then 3 figures dressed in clone armor approached them out of the smoke. "Hands above your heads! Take your sun bonnets off!" Rex commanded; blasters ready to fire.

"Uh, sir?" asked one of the figures.

"Take 'em off! Now!"

The clone removed their helmets, revealing Fives, Echo, and Hevy. Rex was about to lower his blaster only for the Rishi Eel to come blasting out from the ground for a second chance to eat a clone! And yet, in one shot, straight in the eye, Rex put down the infernal creature. "Nice shot," commented Fives.

"The name's Rex. But you'll call me 'Captain' or 'sir'," he said as he took off his helmet and coated his hand with the Eel's blue blood. In response he got a perfect 'Sir, yes, sir'.

"I'm Commander Cody, your new boss," as he too removed his helmet.

"The name's Kix, I'm just a medic. Which, when injured means I outrank them," he chuckled also removing his helmet.

"My designation is trooper 27-5555, sir."

"We call him Fives. I'm Hevy. This is Echo," Hevy explained as he introduced his brothers.

"Where's your sergeant?" Cody asked.

"Dead, sir. We're all that's left," Echo responded

"Looks like we got ourselves a batch of shinies, Commander," Rex said.

"Shinies, sir?" Echo asked.

"That's right," Rex said. "Your armor, it's shiny and new…just like you." Rex put his blood coated hand on Echo's right chest plate, marking it with a perfect handprint.

"Sir, me and my batchers are trained and ready," Hevy stated. "We'll take back our post, shiny or not."

"There's hope for you yet, rookie," Rex turned back and replied.

"Sir," Echo said, "We have two men wounded."

Kix with his helmet back on said, "Take me to them."

"Right this way sir," and Echo took him to where they had lain their batchmates. And so Kix got to work, and not a moment too soon if he did say so himself.

Kix had to use the potent stuff. He hated doing that, as it was in very limited supply. But the strong bacta had saved the two young clones' lives. With it, along with the bandages for Droidbaits back and Cutup's sling, they should be healed up in a rotation. With that taken care of, he reloaded his DC-15S carbine and guarded the two unconscious shinies.

Kix didn't envy regular soldiers sometimes, all the times they got hit, blasted, blown away, and knocked out. While he saw the same amount of action and was there risking his life as much as the others in the same battles, he was certainly glad for being just a combat medic. He didn't get targeted and hurt as much, and honestly caring for his brothers always gave him a sense of pride.

But if it came down to it, he would fight and die just like his brothers. Even though he was a medic, he was still a soldier, and he would do his duty. But for now, that duty was taking care and watching over these rookies.

Meanwhile, Rex, Cody, and the other 3 young clones, Hevy, Echo, and Fives, went into the action.

"Commander Cody, do you copy?" tried Admiral Yularen again. "Captain Rex, please respond."

"They should have checked in from the Rishi station hours ago," Obi Wan commented. "It appears your captain follows orders as well as you do," he ribbed Anakin.

"Perhaps Cody is boring Rex with standard procedures and protocol," the young Jedi snipped back.

"We need to work on our own boring procedures and figure out a strategy to find Grievous."

"Right. Admiral, let me know if you hear from Rex," Anakin ordered.

"Look sharp rookies," Rex ordered. "As long as those tweezers occupy this post, our home planet of Kamino is at risk."

"But there's so many of them," Echo said uneasy.

"Doesn't matter, kid. We have to retake this base, so we will retake this base," Rex responded. His response was the three clones turning off the safety on their blasters.

"How do you propose we get through those blast doors, Rex, old boy?" Cody asked.

"I have a few ideas," Rex replied, with a grin on underneath his helmet. The group of five made their way up the crater. Rex had them hide right by the door. He then propped a droid head right underneath the door panel and security camera. He then tried to mimic the walk of the droid he shot earlier pretending to be a clone.

There were three droids behind the blast door. "What is that?" the commando droid closest to the video console asked. "Unit 2-6, is that you?"

"Roger, roger," Rex replied.

"You sound strage. Is something wrong with you vocabulator?"

"Roger, roger." Rex started to move his head and neck, and grab at it with his hand, pretending to try and fix it.

"Take off your helmet. Let me see your faceplate."

"Roger, roger." Rex was getting ticked off again. 'Come on you stupid piece of scrap metal.' He ducked down to 'take his helmet off' and picked up the droid head and held it in front of the camera.

"This is never gonna work," Cody groaned.

And then the blast doors opened. Unit 2-6 was nowhere to be seen. Only, "Clones!" the droid yelled.

"Roger, roger," Rex repeated and shot the middle droid point blank and dead.

The other clones came out from their hiding spots and shot the other droids. "Right. Let's move," Cody ordered.

They ran and braced at the second set of blast doors. "Permission to take point, sir?" Hevy asked.

"I'm always first, kid," Rex stated.

They then rushed the station, shooting any droids in sight. Due to how they were much closer now, the droids tough armor didn't stand as good as a chance as it did earlier, so the droids went down when they were hit. Back and forth red and blue laser fire was traded, as the pinned battle droids tried to defend themselves from the dug in and advancing clone troopers.

"Ah!" Fives yelled as he took a shot in the arm.

"Fives!" Echo yelled, concerned for his brother and the clone he was closest to in their batch.

"He's okay. Focus on the battle," Cody instructed.

Rex just missed a droid and hit it's gun instead, to which the droid responded by jumping on top of Rex to run him through with a vibroblade. Rex rolled away, the blade missing his head. After dodging several swings, Rex got behind it and pulled its head out of its body and smashed it on the floor, silently thanking Anakin for all those lessons in anti-lightsaber combat. Afterwards he rejoined the fray of all the firing blasters.

"I got one!" Echo shouted with glee.

"Sorry, Echo. I jumped that one," Hevy said.

"Like hell you did."

"Not so tough now are ya, Sparky?" Fives said at a sparking droid with a smile, the battle being over. The troopers now took off their helmets to breathe a little bit easier.

"Get to the window," Cody ordered after looking at the center console. "It looks like we have more visitors." All of the clones ran to the upper deck window.

"It looks like a Separatist fleet," Echo said, zooming in on the Separatist ships.

"That's why the commandeered the outpost," Cody realized. "They're mounting a full-scale invasion!"

"We have to warn command," Rex said.

Aboard the Separatist flagship, a droid on a computer reported the strange activity coming from the outpost. "The Republic base is still transmitting the all-clear signal, but for some reason, our commando droids are not responding."

"We can leave nothing to chance," Grievous spoke as the droid cringed before him. "That base cannot be allowed to alert the Jedi that we're coming. Send down reinforcements to investigate."

"Those clankers sabotaged our transmitter, and they hard-wired the all-clear signal. It'll take time to repair-" Echo stated as he reported the diagnostic.

"We don't have time," Rex cut him off.

"Look!" Hevy alerted as a droid platoon ship descend towards the base.

"Well, buddy, you always said you wanted to be on the front lines," Fives said to Hevy.

Outside, the ship landed, and droids began to march out. "We can't protect the outpost long against that army of clankers," Cody said.

Rex turned to him and said, "Then we'll destroy the outpost instead."

This shocked the other clones, even Cody and Echo, the latter of which said, "But, sir, our mission is to defend this facility at all costs."

"We have to warn the Republic about the invasion. They'll take notice when the all-clear signal stops," Rex reminded them.

"That's right," Fives realized. "When they stop receiving our beacon, they'll get the message something's wrong."

"We'll need every thermal detonator in the inventory," said Rex.

"It'll take more than a few detonators to destroy this outpost," Hevy stated.

"We can use the LT," Echo chimed in. "This moon freezes for over half the year. We use liquid tibanna as fuel to heat the base."

"Liquid tibanna…highly explosive," Cody said.

"Good. Bring the tanks here and prime the detonators," Rex ordered.

Outside the droids continued to march to the base entrance. Kix carefully moved his patients to a safer spot, along with himself.

Inside, Rex was about to give one of his best speeches with Cody standing behind him. "All right, listen up. There's only one target of interest in this sector: Kamino. It's the closest thing we clones have to a home. Today we fight for man than the Republic. Today we fight for all our bothers back home. Understood?"

"Sir, yes, sir!" the young clones shouted.

Each clone then put on his sun bonnet. Fives, Hevy, Cody and Rex, ran out towards the armory and the first door, while Echo stayed behind to start rigging the explosive fuel tanks to blow.

"I think we can even the odds a bit, Commander, especially since they don't know we're here," Hevy said. "This one here is mine," he declared as he picked up a Z-6 rotary canon, a weapon he was specially trained to use.

"Big gun doesn't make a big man," Cody reminded as he handed Fives a DC-15S carbine. Meanwhile Rex and Echo pushed a plunk droid because it was a containment for liquid tibanna.

"Reinforcements reporting," a B1 battle droid said.

"Open up," said another.

Cody opened the door, with Hevy standing there with his Z-6, startling the droids. "Didn't say please," he said and started mowing them down with his gun.

"Clones! Get 'em!" another one yelled and the droids rushed the entrance.

Clone and droid began shooting at each other in a furious pace. Cody and Echo came to back Hevy up. Echo threw a grenade that wiped out a bunch of droids, but still more came through the flames. "We could use a Jedi about now," Cody commented, worried. They began to back up and closed the blast doors, to slow the droids down.

Aboard the Resolute Admiral Yularen was trying anything he could to get to the men. "Captain Rex, come in, Commander Cody, are you there? General, there's still no response."

"How about the all-clear signal? Is the base still transmitting?" Obi-Wan asked.

"Yes, sir."

"If something were wrong, Cody would contact us."

Now aboard the Separatist warship, Grievous was awaiting a report from the surface. "What is the status of the base?"

"Uh, we've run into some difficulties. There seem to be a few clones left, sir," the battledroid responded.

"Then wipe them out. We can't let a few puny clones stop us."

Back on the surface of Rishi Moon, the battledroids had gotten through the blast doors and were advancing swiftly. "Fall back to the op center," Cody ordered. "Move!" He and Hevy shot a few more droids before running up the stairs towards the op center. "Rex, time's wasting."

"Almost ready," Rex said over the coms. "The handset isn't linking up to with the detonator," he grumbled as the detonator refused to cooperate. "Hevy," he called as he saw the trooper.

"Yes, sir," he responded.

"This detonator isn't working."

"I'll take care of it. It'll be fixed in no time. You guys get out of here," Hevy said confidently.

"Just make it fast. Those droids are getting close," Rex warned, as he followed the others.

"There. That should fix it," Hevy said. But the detonator still didn't connect. "This isn't good. There's gotta be another way." The marching of metal feet grew steadily closer. Hevy grabbed his canon, closed the maintenance shaft opening, and hid.

"The base is ours again sir. The clones are fleeing," said a battledroid.

"Cowards. Secure the area," said the commanding B1.

Outside, and with whatever supplies they could grab while running the clones were ready to finalize their mission. "Hevy hit the…Where's Hevy?" Rex asked.

"I'm on it, sir," Echo said.

"Hevy, get out of there!" Rex said over the coms.

"The remote isn't working. I have to detonate it manually," Hevy replied.

"Hey! Hold on there. Blast him!" yelled a B1 battledroid. They began firing at the lone clone who fought back just as fiercely.

"Hevy!" Rex worried.

"We've got to get up there. Back to the maintenance pipe. Let's move," said Echo.

"It's no use. I know what I have to do," Hevy said as he moved from his spot again and began firing.

"I don't like your tone, rookie." Rex ran up the pipe again. He hated losing men, not just because of weakening the front lines, but because as much as he tried to let go, he couldn't.

Hevy continued to fire at the droids, and his aim and shots were perfect, but was hit in the shoulder. Hevy though, didn't feel the pain. He felt nothing. He knew to protect his brothers; he would have to blow himself up along with the station. So he felt nothing…but pride. Pride at knowing he had done his duty, and that his brothers were going to do just as much so when they reached the frontlines. So with no fear or feeling of pain, he fought valiantly.

Cody, continued to com. "Soldier come in. Are you there? Soldier, come in! Respond! Talk to us! Hevy, come in."

Hevy ignored it all. All he needed to do was fulfill his duty as a brother and a soldier. He blasted through the droid lines and stood right in front of the detonator and the PLNK droids about to be sacrificed. 'Myself along with them,' he thought. Just then his Z-6 canon ran out. And the droids were at his back.

So he threw his gun at them, a perfect shot, taking two out. As he turned and went for the detonator,he was shot in the back several times! That time he felt the pain. He could barely breathe, much less move. "Hevy, come in! Come in, Hevy!" the clones still tried to reach him over the coms.

"Do we take prisoners?" The stupid droid asked another. And that's when Captain Rex, ARC Trooper, pistol dropped, threw his grappling line around Hevy's foot. He pulled him back faster than the droids could compute.

Hevy, barely functioning, managed to grab his canon and Rex's pistol. As Rex moved to pick him up, Hevy cooly said, "I don't," and shot the detonator from Rex's DC-17 hand held. Rex, not a moment too soon, picked him up (along with the Z-6 and his pistol clutched tightly in the now unconscious and dying trooper's hands) and fled the area.

The detonator, along with the LT, expldoded almost instantly, destroying the base and all the droids inside. Rex moved as fast as he could, just barely avoiding the flames from the blast as he and Hevy made it outside. Both were smoking. All clones had to get under a small ledge from a cliff when the debris from all the exploded stuff came down. "Hevy always did hate that place," Echo said as they rushed over to where Kix was hiding. Both Cutup (his arm in a temporary sling) and Droidbait were now awake (who wouldn't be woken up from such a loud blast?).

"Haar'chak!" Kix swore in Mando'a as he prepared his last super potent bacta shot for the barely living clone. "Don't you boys know this stuff is LIMITED in supply?" As the bacta entered the near dead clone, his brothers looking on, he began to breathe really hard. As if there wasn't enough air for some reason (he was hit from the back, obviously lung problems were gonna happen). But then he settled down, breathing easier, still completely unconscious. "They're all stable for now, but it won't be long before they're not. I can treat them on a ship or even send them to a med station, but they need help now!" Kix stated.

"The all-clear signal has been disabled?" Yularen asked the clone who reported it to him. "The Rishi base has stopped transmitting!"

"Grievous," Anakin said.

"Sound the invasion alarm. Let's get the fleet under way," Obi-Wan ordered.

"RAAHHH I didn't tell them to blow up the station!" Grievous yelled, his plans ruined.

"But isn't it good that the base is destroyed?" a droid asked him.

"Idiot!" Suddenly, several Star Destroyers dropped out of hyperspace. "The Republic fleet! We're outgunned. Get us out of here," Grievous ordered.

"We got those tinnies on the run," Fives said.

"Thanks to Hevy!" Echo replied.

"Gunships!" Rex heard and saw. "We're getting off this crater, boys." The gunships landed down near the ledge they were standing on, clones with stretchers rushing out to tend to the wounded. Rex lead them to their 'commander' of sorts and Kix instructed them on getting Hevy, Cutup, and Droidbait out of there.

Later, aboard the Resolute in the hangar bay, all five Domino Squad members were together with the other 501st clones as well as Cody and Generals Skywalker and Kenobi. "On behalf of the Republic, we thank you for your valiant service, and we honor your comrade's sacrifice," Obi-Wan praised them.

"Your new unit is lucky to have you," Anakin smirked as the three standing clones (Echo, Fives, and Cutup with a more medically accommodating sling) and two clones in stretchers (Hevy and Droidbait's injuries being more sever hadn't healed up enough yet to be cleared for standing/walking) received their medals. "I'd be proud to fight beside you anytime, anywhere," he said.

The Jedi bowed to the clones, who saluted back, then they walked away for Rex to take over. "Congratulations. You're not shinies anymore."

At first they smiled, but then looked down disappointedly. "With all due respect, sir, we failed our mission. We don't deserve this honor," Echo said, speaking for all of them.

"No," Cody corrected, "if it weren't for you, the Republic wouldn't have learned of the Separatists' invasion until it was too late."

"You showed me something today. You're exactly the kind of men I need in the 501st," Rex proudly declared.

All five saluted like the good soldiers they were. "Sir, yes. sir!"

And that's how the Domino Squad began.

Two weeks later, 5 fully healthy clones were painting their no longer shiny armor. 501st blue was the color striped down their sides. Cutup painted his knee pieces blue, as well and a blue outline of a white Rishi Eel down his chest, with red eyes and tongue. His helmet he painted blue around the eyes and an oval shape on the top of his head including the fin.

Echo painted over Rex's Rishi Eel blood handprint so it was painted on forever. He painted a line going from his eye over his helmet's fin and back to his other eye.

Hevy painted a blue stripe right where the eye area for his helmet stopped. He painted it's fin, and two block on either side. On his chest he paint a PLNK droid exploding. On his right arm he left an outline of the word Rishi in white on top and on the bottom, he put a picture of his favorite Z-6 rotary canon. He also painted a blue stripe over his knees.

Fives simply painted a blue Rishi Eel over the top of his helmet including the fin. It had little red circles for eyes and a red triangle for a tongue. His knees were solid blue.

Droidbait, being Droidbait, painted his knees black and orange, his elbow piece straps orange, and a commando droid head on his helmet with a white strip in between its eyes. He paint his eyes blue, and black under the eye area stopped.

And that's how Domino Squad styled their armor.
