Note: Welcome to my collection of stuff that I think happens in the time period before Season 13! I've been having these ideas building up in me for a while now.

As you can see, this first one is a very long needed Hetty/Callen talk. And me trying to make some kind of sense to what was supposidly revealed about Callen's past and Hetty's involvement. (which if you ask me is stupid. She's looked after him his whole life, took him in when he was 15, and helped him turn his life around. That's, that! Stop trying to question or mess up their relationship, show writers!)

Callen walked into work, saw that Hetty's office was back to normal, and saw a note on her desk that said:

'Miss Jones has left to be with Mr. Beale. My mission is almost complete, I just have 1 last thing to do. Once it's done, I'll come home. Take care- Hetty.'

'Take care of yourself too, Hetty.' Callen thought.

A couple weeks later

Callen heard noise coming from Hetty's office. He went over to investigate.

'Hello? Hetty?'

'Oh! Mr. Callen, so good to see you!' Hetty said, holding a bottle of rum.

'Well, good to see you too! Are you back to stay?' He asked.

'For the time being. Want a drink?'

'Sure'.

After pouring each other's drinks

'So, can you tell me what you were doing? Or is that classified?' Callen asked.

'That's a really long story for 1 drink. What I will tell you, is that it was a long mission, I didn't like being gone as long as I was, and I'm glad it's over.' Hetty replied.

'Admiral Kilbride said you were trying to save 2 of your assets who were being held captive, did you get them out?'

'Yes. Look, do you want to discuss something else?'

'Yes. Kilbride kept saying weird things to me, like. Kept hinting that you 'groomed' me to be an agent since I was a kid. I was looking through my old file, but I couldn't find anything weird in it. Do you know anything about this?' Callen asked.

'Did I look after you when you were young? Yes. Did I teach you a few fight moves? Yes. Did I groom you to be an agent? No. You chose the kind of job you have now, I just helped out.' Hetty responded.

'You sure? Because when Anna was taken, Arkady told me about this Russian spy school she went to as a child. Then he started suggesting that you might have trained me to be a spy from when I was a kid. All those foster homes, most abusive, you taking me in when I was about to be sent to jail? Has all of this been some kind of master plan for my life?'

Silence.

'When your mother was killed, I blamed myself for a very long time, because if I had just defied orders to leave, I could've saved her. I made a promise to myself to protect you and your sister. I knew an orphanage would be no place for you both, so I decided to find you a family. I had no idea if any of them were abusive, I swear. I would've taken you in myself, but I was in no shape or position to raise a child, if something had happened to me, you would have no one to protect you! When you stole that cop car, that's when I knew it was time for me to try and raise you. So I took you in.' Hetty said.

'Anything else?'

'Yes. From what I heard from your foster homes, you had developed basic survival skills, and knew how to question authority. But, you didn't know how to respect authority. I was determined to help you be a good person, and to help you survive in this cruel world. So, I did teach you some fight moves, and I also taught you how to respect authority. The choices you made with your life after you turned 18, were your own. I've just done what I can to protect you.'

Looking intrigued. 'Hmm. Before I met you, I thought my life would never amount to anything. Then, after you took me in, I, slowly started to think that I could amount to something. Say, did you encourage me to look into my past, in your own way?' Callen asked.

'Maybe. I offered you the chance to find out in a single file everything that you wanted to know, but you refused. You wanted to find out everything yourself. I just nudged you.' Hetty replied.

'So, just like you wanted Nell to realize her potential to be a leader, you wanted me to realize my full potential, on my own.'

'Yes, with me helping along the way.'

(Chuckle chuckle), You are a real puppet master, you know?' Callen said, jokingly.

'It's why I was so good at being a spy, dear. (snicker). I'm real proud of the man you've become over the years.' Hetty replied.

'And I have you thank for that. Because if it wasn't for you, I'd most likely have died on the streets before I turned 18, or in jail.'

'And I'm glad you're still alive too, Mr. Callen.'

And they hugged.

'I'm glad you're home, Hetty.'

'I am too, Grisha.'

Endnote: I can totally see Hetty teaching Callen some moves
