Won't you look at that.

I got about 11 new reviews when I woke up the morning after I posted the next chapter.

Wtf

REVIEW ANSWERS

ScipioPB- *pats on the back after you cough* BREATHE

Crickett5- She shall nevah get a break. NEVAH and yeah xD dark side. –ish.

HakubaRyu- High-five for character abuse! XD

carifoo2001- I guess not. Yeah, when you're writing the story, it seems to go a lot slower than when you're reading it, so I guess I made it go a tad too fast… Also, she went from Squad to Squad because the Rat Society is all there is left besides the Glass Squad, and she doesn't want to live alone or go back to the Clans. Anyways, I already know where the story is going :3 so yanno xD

Silkbreeze-Of-ThunderClan- You're about to see more of it! Some of the chapters are short cause I'm a bit too eager to get them online… But thanks, I thought the plot was going relatively well :D (while somewhat stolen from a different story…) Yeah, character development is my weak point.

Tb Kitty 00- Yep, they are xD

RainwishAndSunwishOfShadowclan- Thanks! XD

jaywhisker- As long as you don't make the story go in the same direction as mine, your character becoming a stray and all. ;) I'll take a peek at it. You were originally a guest cause, well, a guest is someone without an account who is reviewing :D

Winslow'sPhoenix (Guest)- Yeah Crash is somewhat annoying xD Thanks, I will!

Guest- O_O

Darkstar of Hidd (Guest)- Wow, thanks! That means more than you think!

PHEW! Lots of reviews! Kay, quick announcement. The story is going in a direction of which I'm not sure some of you will agree with. I know that, but I'm excited about where it's going, and personally can't wait to get writing it. So please, don't post hurtful reviews if you don't like it, cause I know I do. Nobody has done this yet (well, not exactly….), I'm just warning you. Thanks guys!

One more thing… if any of you see a guest named Biarwind, tell me. She used to be an avid reviewer for this story, but took a break from the Internet and didn't come back. She was a good friend of mine through the site, and I'd like to see her again!

Kay, on to the story!

Twist was appalled. "What?"

Crash grinned. "They're the last to deny my callings. I need to know how to get them to join."

Twist blinked. "Do you need them?"

He laughed. "This group needs to be as large as possible. Of course I do."

She gulped. She didn't want to do this for two reasons. One, she didn't want the cats that hated her to be near her again. Second, deep down, she didn't want to hurt Echo and Yarrow.

"I'll try to remember everything I know, and tell you in the morning."

Crash hesitated, then nodded slowly. "Fine." He flicked his tail toward some overturned dumpsters. Inside slept countless cats. "Sleep there."

Twist crept forward, limping from her twisted paw. Dawn was breaking, but she had been up all night, so she needed sleep. She found a bare spot, though she had no bedding to sleep on. She curled up and fell asleep.

Twist padded through a forest of gloom and darkness of which she knew all too well. Out of the shadows stepped none other than Phantomstep, a frown of disapproval upon his face.

"Twist," he greeted warily.

"Phantomstep," she growled, even more so.

"You've been banished yet again."

"No thanks to you!" Twist hissed. "If you hadn't woken me up, I wouldn't have been blamed!"

Phantomstep's frown formed a grin. Then he began to chuckle. Then he laughed. "Ha! Why do you think I woke you up? You had to leave that rat-hole at some point." He stretched elegantly. "I expected you to turn tail and run back to the Clans. But, I suppose I failed in my attempt to lead you back home." He flattened his ears, a scowl settling on his face. "The Rat Society is just a pit of garbage with no future in store for you. Do you really want to lead some group of half-brained loners living in a Carrionplace alongside a cat who's only mindset is to multiply?"

Twist growled. "That 'rat-hole' was a refuge for me. A place to survive. The Rat Society is my last chance. And I don't want to go back to the Clans. What did they ever do for me?"

"They created you." He licked his unsheathed claws. "Without them, you wouldn't exist."

She frowned. "It doesn't matter where a cat gulps their first breath. It's wherever their loyalty lies!"

"And your loyalty should lie within the Clans!" he snapped back. "That's where you belong. Where you should stay."

"Then what do you expect me to do, Phantomstep? What do I do now? If you want me so badly to go back, why don't you just tell me how to get there?"

Something snapped inside of Twist. The last bit of warmth she still owned. A chill set in her heart, and it writhed with the strength of a blizzard. A blizzard with winds of anguish, snows of fury.

The roaring of this blizzard screamed but one word.

Revenge.

Phantomstep grinned, sensing her new thirst. "You want me to tell you how to get there?" He laughed. "Go, now, while the Society still sleeps. From there, I shall guide you."

Twist's neck fur stood. This feeling snaked through her veins. She wasn't sure whether she liked it or despised it. It stung as the venom of an adder, and gratified as one's first killed prey. She loved and hated it all at once.

"Wake, Twist, and run. Run back to the place where you must right the wrongs thrust upon you." He stood closer to her. "Destroy all who stand in your way. Rid WindClan of all the evil it holds." He leaned his face into hers. "Be the warrior you once dreamed of being."

With a start, Twist woke. The cats were still sound asleep all around her. She gasped, terrified by what she had been told to do. Was it right? Was it wrong? Should she go back? Should she not?

Her mind whirled. What would she do? Phantomstep's words rang in her mind. "Be the warrior you once dreamed of being."

How could she? It wasn't her dream anymore.

Or was it?

Thinking over all this, her muscles tingled with that feeling. The thirst. This thirst only had one quencher. Revenge. That was it. Twist had made up her mind in such an instant that she practically surprised herself.

She crept outside. A guard stood at the hole in the picket fence where she had entered. Twist looked around for a distraction, kicking a tin can to a far side of the Carrionplace so that it made a noise. The guard's ears pricked, and he padded over to the can. "Who's there?"

This gave Twist time to escape. While the guard was occupied, she flung herself at the entrance, popping out the other side. She looked back.

You won't get your little spy today, Crash.

Twist ran through the alleys, down multiple streets, past countless buildings. Memories flooded her mind of the days she had spent with the Squad cats, and the day that Echo had shown it all to her. Finally, she came to the border between the town and the forest. Trees loomed before her, dark and swishing with the breeze, while glowing streetlamps glared from behind, their light bouncing off the towering buildings. With a shudder of grief, she saw the tollbooth that she, Echo, Yarrow and Rikah had stopped near when she had first arrived in the city.

Shaking the memory away, she crossed into the trees. She walked through the night, and the sun had begun to break over the horizon as a structure came into view.

The barn.

Twist went slowly to it. This was the place where her journey had begun, where she had first met the three cats that had shown her what friendship was, what it felt like to be loved, wanted. She pushed back a tear of sadness, remembering Rikah's first appearance. She found herself yearning for the company of the gray tomcat. She remembered Echo's admiring expression at Twist's hunting skills, and Yarrow's quiet kindness. Sighing, she trudged on.

Finally, she saw a huge body of water, glittering red and gold in the morning sunrise. At the far end was a forest of conifers, shadowed by its own density. On the left side was a horseplace, and a network of streams leading away from the lake. On the right was a forest of deciduous woodland, in the center, a stone hollow. Between the woodland and a collection of rolling hills ran a stream, starting in the mountains, pooling in the center, and then continuing until it ended in the lake. And before her very paws, a moor of waving grass and endless hills.

The Clans.

Now, THERE'S a cliffie ;)

Yeah, yeah, yeah it went too fast don't even say it in your reviews you'll only bug me.

So, here's a question: why is Twist going back? Because she knows deep down that she's a Clan cat, or is she driven by some other reason? Put your answer in the comments!

Also, please listen to my announcement near the beginning. The story is going in a direction that I'm very excited about, but that a few of you may not like. If you don't, please don't go all "Oh, no! Don't do that!" or, "Can you make her do [insert new storyline here] instead?" Not saying that you won't, you might love it as much as I will. But, just in case.

Remember that this is my story, created from my imagination.

Thanks, guys!

See y'all next chappie!
