Kensi was sitting on the couch feeling miserable, when Hetty came by and sat down next to her.
'Are you okay?' She asked.
'Not really. Do you need something?' Kensi replied.
'No. Just wanting to make sure one of my agents are okay. I'm all ears.'
Kensi began to tell Hetty of her struggles of getting pregnant.
'The traditional way didn't work, fertility treatments haven't worked. If we go full IVF, we might have to sell our house, it'll be more shots, more pain, and more uncertainity! It's just, too much!' Kensi exclaimed.
'Hmm. Have you and Mr. Deeks taken a break? Because you look like you need one.'
'We have, for 2 months now. I'll admit, this is the happiest we've been in a long time.'
'Then, why are you feeling miserable?' Hetty asked.
'Because I'm worried of when he's going to ask when or if we're going to go back to trying to have a baby. I don't know how I'll be able to answer that.'
'How so?'
'I, don't know if I want to continue putting myself through the pain and uncertainity of attempting to have a baby when there's too many unanswered questions and uncertainites.' Kensi replied.
'Which are, if I may ask?'
'Deeks and I don't know if we want to keep working if we have a kid, we're having money issues, Kessler is still on the loose. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder why I even tried to get pregnant.'
'Can, can I get us some tea before we continue this talk?' Hetty asked.
'Sure.'
10 minutes later
'Thanks for the tea.' Kensi said.
'Anytime.'
'I feel like such a failure some days.'
'Oh.' Holding her hand. 'You're not a failure, dear!' Hetty said, in a motherly voice.
'Sigh. Deeks and I joked about having kids through, basically all of our partnership. Now that we want a baby, I can't even give him one. (chuckles sarcastically)' Kensi replied.
'Maybe, there's a reason why you wanted to try to have a baby other then you both wanting one?'
'Sigh. Last December, the bar was having money issues, Deeks was suspended from LAPD, I wanted to give him something to look forward to, I guess. Now we're worse off then when we started.' Kensi said.
'Well, that was certainly a noble effort. Anything else you've been feeling?' Hetty asked.
'Frustrated, impatient, and I'M, SO, TIRED! My body went through a lot during those fertility treatments and I have nothing to show for it!' Kensi exclaimed.
Clap clap 'Good job letting your anger out!' Hetty said, impressed.
'Thank you. That felt really good to say.'
'Have you considered adoption?'
'We may look into it, but it's a complicated process.' Kensi replied.
'Well, no need to think of it all right now. Enjoy your break! Heaven knows you need one!' Hetty replied.
'Thanks Hetty. I'm glad you're around again for these talks.'
'You're welcome, Miss Blye.'
'Say, you wouldn't happen to know of ways to get tickets to Japan by any chance? I want to visit Nell and Eric.' Kensi asked.
'Well, it just so happens, I have spare tickets!' Hetty replied.
'That's amazing! I'll go tell Deeks.'
