Nell had returned from a 2 day meeting.
'Hey sweetie, um. A very special guest arrived 2 days ago and she's really eager to see you!' Eric said.
Nell saw who he was talking about.
Rushing up to give her a hug, 'Hetty?! Oh my gosh yo're really here!'
Hetty seemed surprised at Nell's quick and sweet reaction. 'Ohhh! Nice to see you too, Miss Jones!' She replied.
'I missed you so much!'
'I, I can tell! Um, you're squeezing me a bit too tight!'
'Oh! Sorry.' Nell loosened her grip.
'It's so good to see you! Can we talk this afternoon after you get settled in?'
'Of course!'
That afternoon
The ladies were having tea in the living room.
'This is an incredible house! It sort of reminds me of my Dovecote house!' Hetty said.
Nell chuckled. 'We were house hunting. We saw this big house and we thought 'Why not?!'. We even hired 2 maids to occasionally come in here and clean.'
'So, how have you been?'
'I've been great! Being a co leader of a company has been, really eye opening for me. I guess you were right about me. I, do have what it takes to be a leader.' Nell replied.
'That's nice to know.'
'I'll admit, I wasn't sure about this job, because frankly, being in charge is a terrible job, I can see that now with you. But, this job has been nice.'
'Glad to see you've adjusted well.' Hetty replied.
'One question, how do you do it ever day? Send agents out into the field, not knowing if they'll ever come back?'
'Well, you get used to it over time. And, it's also a matter of trusting that they will do everything they can to come home.' Hetty responded.
'Hmm. Understandable.'
'It's not easy at times, bu, it's part of the job. I hate it, but I learn to live with it.'
'Okay. So, how have you been lately?' Nell asked.
'I've been okay. Being home more helps.' Hetty replied.
'Kilbride giving you a hard time?'
'Not much. I gave him a stern talking to after you left. Now he basically leaves me alone most of the time.' Hetty said.
'I miss the team sometimes.'
'They miss you too, me included.'
'Can I give you another hug? I'm just so happy you're here right now!'
'Of course!'
