Japan
Deeks was stuffing his face with Japanese food.
'Oh man, this food is so good!' He said.
'Yeah, I can tell, that's your 2nd order.' Kensi replied.
'Mmm!'
'Listen, I think we should start putting some stuff in that extra room in our house.'
Deeks stopped eating.
'You mean, the room we have planned as a future kids room or a nursery?' Deeks asked.
'Yes. It's just an empt room, and I think we should start filling it up so it doesn't look so empty or gloomy.' Kensi replied.
'Well, okay. But if we have a baby, we're going to have to move all that stuff.'
'That's a big 'if'. And we're not discussing having children right now, we're on a break from that, remember?'
'Yeah yeah, I remember.' Deeks replied.
That evening
'Would it really be so bad to go over our baby-having options again right now though?' Deeks asked.
Kensi sighed in annoyance. 'We've talked about this. It's not reasonable to try to have a baby right now, we drained through our funds buying the house and paying the medical bills on those fertility treatments. Is it really the smartest idea to try to have a baby if we're homeless? Also, our paychecks are barely getting us by.'
'No. But there is another option.'
'Adoption is a long and complicated process! Plus, who would really want to consider us to be parents with our jobs?' Kensi asked.
'Well, we have our aliases, that should help.'
'Deeks, really? We can't even decide if we want to stay at NCIS if we do have a kid!'
'Didn't we already decide to keep working?' Deeks asked.
'I don't know! We've gone back and forth on the topic so many times, I have no idea if we even decided.'
'Well, maybe it'll make more sense if we have a kid.'
'That's not acceptable, Deeks! If we're going to try to adopt a kid, we need to actually think of the long term effects of our choice! We've tried to rush into having a kid, and it made us miserable. We need to be smart if we decide to do this.' Kensi said, slightly louder.
'Okay okay. This, is a lot more then joking about having kids. Didn't think it'd be this complicated.' Deeks replied, feeling slightly guilty.
'It's more complicated then I thought too. But we'll, we'll figure it out, if we take our time.' Kensi said.
'Did Hetty talk to you recently?'
'Before we left for here.'
'That explains the sudden burst of wisdom.' Deeks said.
Kensi chuckled
