Chitose. Chitose Mikado. The very loving little twin sister of Chihaya. The girl that he can never forget. Why must she leave so soon? She was everything to him…and his mother. His life used to be wonderful, at least a little bit if it weren't for his father treating him unfairly. His sister's death changed his life dramatically. It caused his mother's mental health to change at a very bad note and Chihaya got made fun of due to his feminine looks, leading him to distrust everyone, including men. His self-confidence went downhill so badly, maybe even more than his older feminine looking cousin, Mizuho Kaburagi.

The thought of him transferring to Seio Girl's Academy, the very same school Mizuho went to two years ago, was definitely a surprise and…sudden request from his own mother. It was supposed to have him boost his self-esteem since he did not do well in an all-boys' school. Due to his feminine looks, he would definitely pass off as a girl for sure. At first, Chihaya was unsure that he would pull it off, but fortunately…and surprisingly, he did.

But even when attending this school, the thought of Chitose came back in his mind due to one certain sickly girl of the dormitory. The girl named Yuu Kashiwagi. She apparently has the same type of illness as Chitose had and it made Chihaya act on it immediately the first time he saw her. From then on, whenever there's an opportunity, Chihaya would take care of Yuu with the help of her onee-sama, Hatsune. Kaoruko, Chihaya's girlfriend, would also come and help out whenever she can. To Chihaya, it's as though Chitose has returned to give him a second chance.

Today is like normal for the girls of Seio. Everyone, including Yuu-chan, is up and about, finished with breakfast and have a little time before leaving for school. Kaoruko watches as Chihaya and the cute small girl holding each other's hands and Yuu-chan jumps up and down a little bit happily like a little child, making Chihaya giggle. Kaoruko smiles. Ever since Chihaya transferred, Yuu-chan was more active and talkative to the people around her. Before, Yuu-chan would just lay in bed all day, not feeling like doing anything. But somehow…an "angel" came to her life. She herself doesn't know why, but she does know that there is still hope after all. She will not give up on her life just because of a severe illness.

"Fufu~!" comes a giggle that belongs to the pure lesbian of the group, Kaori. "Kaoruko-san's staring~"

"Mou! Kaori-san!" Kaoruko snaps.

"I'm just saying~" the blonde sips on her tea elegantly. "You are happy to see Chihaya-san and Yuu-san growing closer and closer, you know? Despite you being Chihaya-san's girlfriend~" She winks at the last part, making the very long haired girl blush.

"I don't mind," she says, looking down at the floor. "Besides, Yuu-chan is like…family. I can also consider her like a sister. If Chihaya chooses to be this close to Yuu-chan, then so will I."

"Ara ara~" Kaori says. "You have certainly changed, Kaoruko-san~"

"Is that a problem?" Kaoruko asks.

"Mm…not at all~" the blonde continues to sip her tea.

The fencer turns back toward Yuu-chan, who is twirling around like a ballerina after letting go of Chihaya's hands. This is definitely a good sign. The silver haired trap turns to his girlfriend and smiles.

"Is something the matter, Kaoruko-san?" he asks.

The dark haired girl shakes her head and smiles back. "It's nothing. I'm just so happy to see Yuu-chan being more and more active."

"She shouldn't push herself too hard though," Chihaya warns. "I mean, it's good that she's like this and can even bring up a conversation, but still…"

"Yes, I know," Kaoruko takes her boyfriend's hand and caresses it. "That's why I'm here to help out. Hatsune as well. You are not alone in this, Chihaya."

"Thanks…Kaoruko-san," Chihaya smiles and puts his hand on top of hers, caressing it in return.

Yuu-chan looks in awe as the two beautiful people in the world in front of her are romantically gazing at each other. Is this what love looks like?

"Chihaya…!" the small girl's quiet voice reaches both Kaoruko and Chihaya's ears. "Kaoruko…! You're both so amazing…!"

"O-oh!" Realizing what they've been doing, they let go of each other's hands as they blush.

Kaori giggles. "Ara, ara~! Looks like both of you have a biggest fan~"

"N-no! It's not like that!" Kaoruko and Chihaya squeak in unison.

**At School**

School comes and goes without trouble. Chihaya gathers his things to leave and head to the library to go and study. He'll be waiting for Kaoruko to study with him. He walks inside to take a look around for a table to sit in. However, just when he finds the right spot, he notices a notebook on the floor between the bookshelves. Was someone in a hurry they dropped their notebook by mistake? Curious, he goes over toward the object to pick it up and look for a name so he can put it in the "Lost and Found" section. He looks in the front and then the back. But his eyes widen at the name. Yuu Kashiwagi. Since when does she go to the library? Is this her study book? He opens to the very first page and reads the title, "Living a Life while Having a Weak Body". He can't help but read the contents. It contains her diagnosis, and the rest are just things she did while she had that condition. Most of her life was filled with drama and how she coped with everyone reacting to her condition. However, she tries to stay as positive as she can in those notes. He reads it until it says today's date and time. It's what happened this morning.

"Chihaya and Kaoruko's bond was like nothing I've ever seen before. I don't know if it's a dream or reality. But one thing I know for sure: that I want to experience this kind of thing someday. Someday when I get better. Whenever I'm around Chihaya…it feels as though my heart is about to burst. I don't know why. Could this be a love thing after all? Can I be with Chihaya…as well as Kaoruko? My life with this condition continues…and will I be able to live long enough to experience it?"

The note was short, but it clearly tugs on Chihaya's heart strings. She's been doing this since she was diagnosed? He is surprised that she is able to live this long to write something like this. Surely there is a lot more to write today, but…where in the world is Yuu-chan? Before he can do anything, he jumps at the sound of the door opening and speak of the devil, Yuu-chan arrives in a panic. She looks around as she frantically tries to search for something within the library. Chihaya decides to help her out. He catches up with her as soon as Yuu-chan turns a corner to stop her in her tracks.

"Yuu-san," Chihaya says.

"Ah…I'm sorry…" the quiet girl says, tapping her index fingers together. "I just remembered I forgot something and I was in a hurry to get to the dorms. Can you help me look for it?"

"What is it, may I ask?" the silver haired trap asks.

"It's actually a…a…" Yuu-chan struggles to find the words when she notices the notebook in his hand. Her visible eye widens. "Ch-Chihaya…that book…in your hand…"

"Ah…this?" Chihaya holds it up. "Actually I was looking for you so i can return it to you."

"Did…did you happen to…look through it…?" Yuu-chan asks as she gently takes the notebook.

Chihaya shakes his head. "No, I haven't."

The small girl clutches the notebook to her chest, covering her mouth with it. "Well…it's a little embarrassing, even if I um…told you what's in it. But…I'm very glad you returned it to me. I appreciate it." She turns to leave. "I'll see you around…Chihaya…"

With that, she walks toward the doors when one of them opens and Kaoruko shows up. She is surprised to see Yuu-chan here and gives her a nod and a smile. Yuu-chan does the same shyly and then hurries out.

"Chihaya," Kaoruko says, greeting the silver haired trap. "Why was Yuu-chan in the library?"

"Beats me," Chihaya shrugs. "Come. I found a spot for us where we can study."

"Gladly!"

The two sit at the spot Chihaya recommended and while they are studying, Kaoruko notices a troubled expression on her boyfriend.

"Is something the matter?" Kaoruko asks.

"Oh, um…it's nothing," Chihaya tries to lie, but the fencer is not buying it.

The dark haired girl gives a gentle smile and slides her hand towards his, rubbing his palm. "You can tell me, don't worry. We're a couple now."

Chihaya bites his lip as he slightly turns away. "Yuu-san…she had some sort of diary or something."

"A diary? Did you look through it?" Kaoruko questions.

"Yes." He says truthfully. "I couldn't tell her though. It contained…just her point of view on how she went through life from her diagnosis until now. It was her thoughts that were written down."

"Oh…" Kaoruko is surprised that Yuu-chan would even do something like this. But then again, when you're sick like this, sometimes it's necessary to write some sort of journal to write about how life went while coping with it. In case you die and somebody wants to know about that you, a journal is the way to do it.

"Should I be worried, Kaoruko-san?" Chihaya says.

"About what?" the dark haired girl inquires.

"How Yuu-san is writing something on a journal while she's sick like this," the silver haired trap replies. "I mean, what are the chances that she will never make it to attend next year?"

"I really shouldn't be worried," Kaoruko says, rubbing her hand on Chihaya's. "It's because of you, Yuu-chan is up and about. You fed her delicious food, spent time with her and went by her bed side from time to time to tell some good stories before she goes to sleep. It's probably just the way to express herself where she can't in front of others."

Chihaya nods. "I guess so. Thanks, Kaoruko-san."

The two of them go back to studying.
