A/N: Hello people, KloseKom here.

So there was a challenge on the Pertemis Server. The topic being: "Artemis falls in love"

Being an ardent Pertemis fan, I just had to put Percy as the one she falls in love with. Anyway, this is my contribution to the challenge. Enjoy it and pray tell me how you find it to be.

Though there shouldn't be many, please IGNORE if you find typos.

Who said immortals didn't feel emotions? Who said they didn't mourn the loss the way mortals did? They all thought that immortals were cold, prideful beings, never really getting attached the way mortals did, never displaying emotions. But were these assumptions correct? Artemis knew the answer all too well. Sure, living for a long time, you tend to let things go, you learn to accept loss as part of living forever, you come to realize that once you get too attached, it would be hard to let go. Emotionless is a harsh term, even to the gods. Have you ever witnessed the loss of your own children? If you do, then you realize how very heartbreaking it is. Now think how gods have to witness the deaths of their own demigod children, over and over again, for millennia and more. This cycle is what hollowed the gods from inside and that's why they are called emotionless.

Now Artemis was admittedly among the more stoic gods. Years and years of losing and gaining her huntresses had prepared her for the worst scenarios and had hardened her. Or that is what she thought. Sitting alone on a bench in a park on Olympus, slow tears rolled down her cheeks, something she thought made her weak yet something she couldn't stop especially with the memory so fresh. She could still hear the music coming from the Solstice party, but she didn't give a damn, not when she just lost her best friend, her sister, Zoe Nightshade, her companion for over 3 millennia. Something that turned out to be evanescent after all.

In her sorrow, she didn't hear the quiet footsteps approaching her until they were right beside her. "Milady, sorry to intrude, but are you alright?" asked a distinct voice belonging to a male she knew to be Percy Jackson. Artemis realized she was too late to hide her tears. She cursed herself because she allowed a male to see her crying. But then again, this was Percy Jackson, someone Zoe had respected in her last moments.

"What do you want? Do I look like a damsel in distress for you to help?" she cursed herself once again. She never meant it to be this harsh, and momentarily forgot her sorrow. "I am sorry Lady Artemis. I just happened to come across you in this state. But I do know for a fact that sharing sorrow helps" he said yet didn't back away. "Why do you care anyway? Just so you can boast to your friends that you saw me like this? Why aren't you at the party?" Artemis asked coldly.

Percy let out a dry chuckle. "I was never one to seek attention. Why would I be in there? I am not even the hero of the quest, Zoe was. I let her die, I could have saved her. She was a hero much greater than I will ever be. It would be an insult to her if I enjoy myself at the party while she sacrificed her life. I was leaving anyway when I chanced upon you" he said, taking no offense at Artemis's comments. Artemis herself started to realize why Zoe had respected this boy.

It was just a myth that Artemis hated men. No, it was wrong, Artemis just didn't trust males, that was it. But Percy might already be on the path to gain her trust. Percy, as Artemis admitted, never claimed any glory for the quest. He carried the sky for her, for crying out loud, yet never mentioned it. She was brought out of her thoughts when Percy sighed and started to leave. "Anyway Milady, I respect my mother a lot. She taught me never to ignore someone in distress. If you ever want to talk, I am always there, and I won't see it as debt. I swear on the Styx never to mention this meeting if that's what you want" he started to walk away.

Fate works in ways unknown. Something inside Artemis told her that she would be losing an opportunity to find someone she could trust if she let Percy go right now. And she took its advice.

'Wait, Perseus. How do I know I can trust you?" Artemis asked in a small voice, weakened by her state of sorrow. She hated how vulnerable she felt. "Because Lady Artemis, I swear my Loyalty to you. I swear on the Styx and my mother's honor to never betray your trust" Percy said, turning back to her with a small smile, joining her on the bench. Seeing him swear his loyalty to her that easily, she was surprised and content at the same time. Something that broke through the emotional barrier she had formed over millennia as she finally found someone to open up to.

"Why did it have to be her?" she asked to no one in particular as the first of her tears she had been holding back since meeting Percy traced down her cheeks. She felt an arm around her shoulders and realized it was Percy. Her instincts screamed at her to smite him for touching her, yet the nagging thought in her head overruled her instincts, and yet once again she followed that thought. She surprised herself when she leaned further into his embrace, feeling more comfortable by the second.

She cried hard as she buried her face into his shoulder but still didn't know why she trusted this demigod so blindly, even though she had known him for a few hours. Maybe it was the fact he took the sky for her without bragging to anyone, or maybe it was because he had earned Zoe's trust. She didn't know, but her heart told her she could trust him with his life, and right then, somehow, she had no doubt he would do the same.

One could say Artemis had been robbed of her originality. Not only crying in front of a male but also seeking comfort, this was just not like her. But did she care? No. As she realized, even immortals can change, they just needed people like Percy. Now she realized how he had managed to restore Zoe's faith in males before her death. Percy made her feel more human at the moment, the one she craved to be, not the picture-perfect goddess everyone expected her to be.

Once she controlled her tears, she looked at Percy's face, not leaving his warm embrace in the cold night; she saw tears of his own running down in slow trickles as he gazed at the Huntress. "I failed her Lady Artemis. Only if I had been a little bit stronger, she could have been right by your side. I cause people to die. That is my burden" he said softly. She looked at him incredulously for a second before pulling back and landing a tight slap that echoed around.

Percy looked surprised and hurt but Artemis cut him off. "You idiotic male, her death wasn't your fault. It was only because of you she found her faith in men. Don't blame everything upon yourself. It was Atlas's fault" she yelled but took his hand and squeezed. "You, Perseus Jackson, are someone I respect, never throw it away. Just like you, I will always be there if you need to talk. Let me share your burdens Perseus, just the way you did to mine." She never trusted males, but she could never doubt Percy, and her intuition just solidified her claim.

Percy got up and wiped off his tears, giving her a small smile and extending his hand, "Friends, Milady?" Artemis, without a moment's hesitation, stood up and took his hand, "Friends. My first male friend in centuries." They turned to leave and walked opposite ways before both stopped at the same time and turned around, this time facing each other. Almost in a trance, they walked towards each other, pulled by an invisible force seemingly radiating from the other. They met in the middle, standing very close to each other.

"I would hate to see you turn into men I despise Perseus. Do not make me regret this friendship" She gave him a quick hug. "I will look forward to our future meets. Goodbye...Percy." She flashed away instantly, conflicted with herself, hugging a man willingly was something foreign for her, yet she did. But she managed to hear it though, Percy's distinct voice, "See you soon...Artemis"

Percy had been busy with high school and Artemis was busy with her Hunt. But neither forgot that one eventful night, the one night both gained the most unlikeliest friend they could have ever imagined. Never in her life of 4 millennia did Artemis ever think that she would trust a boy to be her friend in just the couple of hours they spent together. Percy was never the one to seek pity or attention and hence the nature to bottle up his own emotions. Yet he surprised himself by letting the least likely goddess know about his emotions, those which he desperately tried to hide.

It was 3 months before they made contact again. Artemis was riding her chariot, looking at the Huntress, when the air near her shimmered, bringing forth a faint image of Percy Jackson. "Percy?" she questioned no one. "The one and only" he grinned. "So how are you holding up?" A look of pain shot through her face before returning to normal. "Fine" she said, not meeting his eyes. "Artemis, I am not like the rest of the world in front of whom you hide your emotions. That was a lie. I can very clearly see through it" he said firmly.

This time she met his eyes, showing hers to be wet. "What do you expect Percy. Immortals aren't supposed to be affected by the deaths of mortals, yet here I am. Can you blame me? I just lost my closest companion of 3 millennia. And the worst of all, I can't even mourn her publicly. After all, I am the 'picture-perfect' goddess everyone sees me as" she said bitterly. "Artemis, I feel what you are feeling. Don't bottle it up, at least not in front of me. I will never judge you for these emotions" he said soothingly. Artemis visibly relaxed.

"You are right Percy. I-I am glad I have someone I can talk to. Still, it hurts. I don't even want to know what would have happened if I didn't open up to you. Thanks for being there" she gave him a bittersweet smile. "Stop with the compliments. I am just helping a friend. Of course, I will always be there for you. Do you speak to anybody else about this, or have you been bottling up for the past 3 months?" Percy asked. Artemis just shook her head. Percy sighed loudly, "Do you talk about anything that doesn't include work, like things you like or your hobbies?" Again he was met by her shaking head. Percy groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"You need to talk more Artemis. If you really think you trust me then talk more, at least with me. I don't care if you are annoyed by me, we are going to talk every week, and not about your job, we are focusing on you, even if you don't like it, yes?" he asked sternly. Artemis wanted to protest, to tell she was doing okay, but she knew Percy had a point, she indeed never focused on herself. Artemis sighed loudly, "I don't even know why I am taking orders from you, but okay." Percy gave her his infectious smile, which she just had to return, as they began to talk about sundry things.

She didn't know what Percy did to her, only that it didn't feel wrong, she was glad for the change he brought upon her in just 2 meetings. By the time Percy had to go, Artemis was already looking forward to their next meeting. She had finally found somebody to freely speak to, like an actual human being, not some mythical goddess and she wasn't ready to let go easily, not after how much it helped her.

For the whole year, they continued to meet in secret. From there on, their friendship steadily progressed. Initially, Percy was the one who called Artemis, every Sunday, without fail. Both of them would eagerly wait for the occasion. They would talk for hours on end, yet neither could keep track of time. Over the year, they grew closer than ever. Sometime later, Artemis started to call, on the weekdays. Their once-a-week meeting plan changed to several times a week.

Then one night Artemis decided to meet Percy face to face. To say he was surprised to see Artemis knocking on his door would be an understatement. Artemis laughed every time they met for the next month when she remembered Percy standing at his doorway, open-mouthed, until she dragged him away to a nearby park. That was also the day Percy realized Artemis had never eaten ice cream. So when Percy took her to an ice cream parlor, they made some really memorable moments, Artemis's wide eyes as when she tasted ice cream for the first time, her first brain-freeze, the expression on the owner of the parlor when Artemis ate 32 cups of all the flavors.

By now, Artemis had started feeling an unexplained pull towards the charming son of Poseidon, yes she admitted he was charming. This growing attraction was helped further when she couldn't find a damn fault in him that the other males harbored. He was everything she stood for, loyal to a fault, respectful, gentle, and never arrogant. He did get on her nerves quite a lot of times yet never stepped out of line.

Then there was Percy's 15th birthday. She still hadn't told her hunters about her friendship with Percy and had to pretty much silently sneak out again to avoid questions, much like how she did every time she went to meet with Percy. When Artemis knocked on his door, she fully expected to see the house full of his friends, and mentally prepared herself for awkward conversations with some boys. What she didn't expect was the house to be devoid of life except for Percy, who received, her and his mother, to whom she had introduced herself to be Diana. Percy chuckled at her expression.

"I don't have close friends except you, Artemis. You are pretty much my first and only friend ever to attend my birthday. I can never thank you enough" he said softly, not letting his mother hear her name. Artemis's eyes widened in realization. Now she realized how their friendship affected both and how much she meant to him as a friend. Those at the camp were his friends, yes, but more like colleague kind of friends, not the ones who know everything about you or the ones with whom you spend time. And Artemis got to know how exactly she helped him, the boy had been as desperate to find someone to open to as she was. Now she thanked the fates for letting them meet.

Artemis gave Percy a silver ring for his birthday, an identical twin of what she wore. It let him call her anytime, without the hassle of creating mist, and allowed Artemis to remotely flash him to her instead of doing vice-versa. If Percy was overjoyed for that gift, the first he ever got from a friend, he completely lost his mind when Artemis offered him a proper ride on her chariot. All through the ride, Percy talked over-excitedly sometimes at annoying levels of volume, yet Artemis didn't mind. To her, Percy looked absolutely adorable doing that, her heart filling with warmth and joy as she silently watched Percy enjoy the first birthday gift from a real friend.

Once they parted with a hug, and Artemis flashed back to her tent, she started realizing things. Like for example, the warm feeling that enveloped her every time she was around Percy, the burning jealousy every time a girl looked at him differently, the butterflies in her stomach when he flashed her his trouble-maker smile, the jolts of sparks every time they made physical contact. She reflected on how much he did for her, how he was happy when she was, or how Percy was sad when she felt sad. Like a bolt out of the blue it struck her, she should have been angry, angry at herself, at Percy, at Aphrodite, but no. What she felt was tranquility and clarity, clarity at the fact that she had slowly fallen for the green-eyed demigod.

Yet she was scared, she was scared of this foreign feeling, how it conflicted with her morals, the fear of rejection, or how it could ruin their ever-blooming friendship. But then again, it felt like her heart had accepted this much before her brain could grasp it. At the crossroad of decision, she once again aligned her mind with her heart. Unlike what she would have done a year back, she fully accepted this emotion, her love for Percy Jackson. At the last moment though, she decided to bury it for the time being. Maybe, given time, they could be something more, though for now, she didn't want to lose her only friend.

One year. One year was all that Percy got to himself. Yet all good things come to an end. Campers had been assassinated within the camp boundaries, and the Camp needed their prodigious hero to save them. Monsters were frequently found inside Camp, confirming that the enemy had found a way in. Artemis couldn't even talk to him for the fear of being caught. So she didn't even know what he was doing, suffering from anguish, Percy being in a similar condition.

It was just 2 days after Percy left for Camp that Artemis received the news of not only the Labyrinth being alive but also that it had an entrance right inside the Camp borders, which the enemy was exploiting by sending in monsters to kill campers. What got her though, was the quest to traverse it. Her suspicions came true when she got to know that it was being led by Percy Jackson. Worst of all, she couldn't even see him off as he went inside.

It was at a council meeting just 2 days later that she received even worse news. Pery had blown up St. Helens, setting free Typhon, and he didn't make his return with the party that went in. Everybody in the throne room gasped, though for entirely different reasons. While everyone else gasped, fearing the fight against Typhon, Artemis's breath hitched and her heart plummeted, ever so lightly whispering Percy's name at the possibility of him not making it. Her plight was noticed by just one person, one she didn't want to let know. Her silver eyes made contact with the narrowed blue eyes of her brother.

"So WHAT?" Artemis screamed, leaning against a wall in the hall of her palace. "You got a new friend who turns out to be a boy and you didn't even tell me" Apollo yelled back. "Do you tell me about every mortal affair you have? So why do you expect me to tell you?" she seethed. "So, you accept this is an affair? Have you given up your oath already?" he said, jeering at her. "Apollo...Do not just assume things" Artemis gritted her teeth. "HAH! The irony. Another son of Poseidon. Have you forgotten about Orion?" That drove Artemis to the edge. With unfathomable fury, she drew her bow at her brother. "Do not ever compare Percy to that bastard. Even though this is just a friendship, he is more than worthy enough for me" she said with a deadly calm.

"You are clearly blinded by his external facade Artemis. He will take advantage of you, just like you hate. You will thank me later when you get back to your senses" Apollo said, trying to reason with her. "Who are you to tell me about taking advantage? Do not think he is a womanizer like you. If you ever harm him, I will disown you and curse you, Apollo. Now get out OUT!" she spat out his name so venomously, Apollo cowered. "I can see your emotions Artemis. I know you like him. But remember, he is mortal, an ephemeral being. You two aren't meant to be. He will break your heart unknowingly when he passes" Apollo flashed away. Artemis broke down in tears, realizing his latest words.

But she made up her mind. Artemis would stay by him till the end. She would make the most of the time she had with him. And relish what she had by the end. She would do it, for Percy Jackson, the boy who captured the heart of the eternal huntress.

Once again, beating almost all odds, Percy Jackson returned 4 days later, very much alive. Artemis was overjoyed, she was just about to flash them both to her palace to talk, using that ring, which he endearingly wore as a pendant, when she got the news that he had once again gone back to rescue demigods stuck in there. When he returned though, she was ready to kill him for being the idiotic person he was, if not for the monster army that poured out of the Labyrinth before it collapsed altogether.

That was the battle of the Labyrinth, led by one Percy Jackson, traversing it twice within a month. The ambush was sudden and the casualties were heavy, yet the campers managed to defeat the monsters. That day many shrouds were burnt. When Percy finally called Artemis that night, she was ready to chew him out for making her worry. But when she found him, he had his head in his hands, crying.

"I could have saved them. They were innocent, Artemis. I saw a 12-year-old die. I couldn't do anything" he said, tears marking his cheek. Artemis went and sat beside him, realizing how bad it would have been to see children die. Still, she couldn't see Percy break down like this. She patted him on the back and hugged him, letting him cry into her shoulder. "Don't blame yourself for their death Percy. You can't save everybody, but you can avenge them. Don't let their sacrifices be in vain" she said.

Once he stopped crying, Artemis pulled back and slapped him across the face. "Do not ever do what you did Percy. I was so worried about you" she screamed at him. Percy just chuckled, holding his cheek, and went back to the friendly bantering they did often. That was the night, after Artemis flashed away, Percy realized his own feelings for Artemis, yet he kept quiet, thinking he would just lose a friend if he speaks for his heart. He sighed and walked back to camp.

"Is there no way I can change your mind to not lead this war?" Artemis insisted, she knew it was futile, but maybe, just maybe, Percy would listen to her. It was a month after the Battle of the Labyrinth and now the Titan King had declared war on Olympians. While the Olympians themselves would be fighting Typhon, it was up to the demigods and hunters to protect Manhattan and in extent, Olympus itself. Unfortunately, it also meant Percy would most probably have to cross swords with the Time Lord. Today was possibly the last day they met, seeing they were leaving for their own posts.

Percy just smiled and walking from the tree he was leaning on, sat down beside Artemis on the rock she was sitting on. "You know me by now Artemis. I won't be able to risk anyone else while it is in my power to do something about it" he said, looking up at the stars. Artemis groaned with annoyance, only if Percy knew how valuable he was to her, especially after Zoe. But again, there was his selflessness. It was so fucking irritating, yet that was what drew Artemis towards him. They sat for a long time in comfortable silence, just the two of them stargazing.

"I have to take a dip in the Styx" Percy declared quietly. Artemis's eyes widened. "No fucking way you are doing it" Artemis screamed. "But I have to. Luke has it. Otherwise, Olympus has no chance." Artemis pinched the bridge of her nose knowing he spoke the truth. "You know you can die doing that right?" she asked. Percy just nodded stiffly. "And you will still do it, you moron?" she asked. Percy just nodded and gave a dry laugh.

Artemis shifted from her place and before he could comprehend, grabbed Percy in a tight hug, burying her head into his neck, holding on like no tomorrow. "Make sure you come back to me alive, you dolt. If you don't, I will personally drag you out of the underworld and torture you for as long as you live" she said. When she pulled back, Percy had his signature grin on his face, which she returned.

"I don't think it is in power to leave you behind, Artemis. I am coming back to you, and don't you dare get injured by Typhon" he said, looking into her silver eyes. Hesitating for a second, Artemis leaned in and gave Percy a lingering kiss on his cheek. She held it for a few seconds before flashing away without a word, leaving behind a gaping Percy. When he did realize what happened, he blushed hard, touching the place where she kissed, before shaking his head and walking back with a goofy smile set on his face and a fluttering heart.

The war started even before they knew. For 7 days the gods fought Typhon, without any slack. Even though they were fighting up there, informants in the form of wind spirits kept the gods up to date. From what news they got, things were looking bleak, both for the demigods, and the gods. Poseidon's immense power was being heavily missed when Typhon kept pushing them back towards Manhattan, as Poseidon fought a war for his own domain.

All throughout this, Artemis was in a state of constant dread. She was worried sick about Percy, and her anguish continued to grow as she kept getting worse updates. It didn't help at all that the Olympians were being pushed back. Her heart clenched when she heard about the members of the enemy attacking the citadel, which was being protected by a measly 40 demigods and 20 hunters. Chief among them being a Lydian Drakon, the Crommyonian Sow, Colchis bull, and many more.

Artemis was glad Percy had taken a dip in the Styx at this point. She wanted to know who his anchor was but it was of least importance. Artemis was proud to hear that Percy had one by one decimated the monsters with the help of the demigods. All the gods were astonished when they received the news of Percy defeating Hyperion in a 1v1 duel. Artemis was swelling with praise for the said demigod. But that was where the good news ended.

The gods had been pushed back at an alarming rate. The demigods themselves were taking their last stand, defending Olympus right at its gates. Even with Hades joining the fight, they were being overwhelmed. Soon after, Kronos made his appearance, destroying everything in his path to the Throne room. Artemis herself had seen Dionysus getting knocked from his chariot as the gods almost lost hope. Almost.

Artemis fought on, knowing that Percy was probably locking blades with the time lord, and she would be giving her best too. This war had taken too much toll on everybody. She promised herself that should the gods win this war, she would confess to Percy. The fates had given her one chance to find love, possibly the most perfect man ever, and she wouldn't throw it away.

As one says, *Fortune favors the bold*. Artemis's resolution to fight seemed to have a wave of luck that followed. Out of the water rose the army of Atlantis, led by Poseidon himself. He threw his trident with such force that Typhon staggered backward. Poseidon's colossal power turned the tides, literally as well as metaphorically. Typhon was down within minutes. Now everything was in Percy's hands; should he prevail, this war would be won.

The gods were back on Olympus and were aghast at the destruction Kronos had caused, leading up to the Throne room. They all ran towards the room, fearing the worst, none faster than Poseidon and Artemis, whose sole focus was Percy. They opened the door to the throne room, preparing to fight the King of the Titans, only to find the body of Luke, Annabeth Chase, who was crying her heart out for the loss of her love, and Percy, looking tired but very much alive, trying to console Annabeth.

Artemis's and Percy's faces lit up like fireworks when they saw each other. They had to fight the urge to just run towards each other and hug right there. The rewards and celebrations were a blur to both, whose only aim was to find the nick in time when they could slip away together without being seen.

Artemis was a bit sad when Percy rejected godhood but then again, Percy proved to her once again that not all men were power-hungry, instead choosing to help the demigods, giving a subtle smile to Artemis. Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, having lost the love of her life, joined the hunters. Others who fought in the war too were rewarded.

As soon as the celebration party started, Artemis was off her throne. Taking care that none noticed her, she subtly made her way towards Percy, who seemed to be already waiting for her by the door of the throne room. Without a word, she flashed them both to the beach, the moon glinting off the ocean.

When she turned to look at Percy, he was standing with his arms open, waiting to embrace her. She flung herself into his arms as Percy lifted her off the ground, his face buried in her stomach as hers was in his hair, both drinking in the fact that they made it out alive. Percy twirled around with her still in his arms, both laughing giddily like children. Artemis unintentionally started shedding tears of joy. Percy noticed that and gently cupped her cheeks and wiped her tears with his thumb.

"I promised you that I would make it out alive. And I did Artemis. I did for your sake" Percy said gently. Artemis smiled weakly and held his hand. "I just can't imagine what would have happened if I lost you, Percy. I-I would be devasted. You have been my spark of happiness in the 2 years I have known you. They say gods can't change. But you, Percy Jackson, you changed me. You made me human. How can I live without the one who changed me entirely?" she stopped, looking at Percy's shocked expression, but she had come too far. "You have captured my heart, Percy. Your annoyingly endearing ways made me fall for you. I love you Percy Jackson" she completed with a warm smile.

Percy's shock didn't last long, giving way to a smile full of pure joy, making Artemis giddy with happiness. Letting the tug in their gut take over, they leaned in, the smiles never leaving their faces. As their lips met halfway, numerous explosions of pleasure and happiness took place inside their bodies. They just couldn't get enough of each other's taste as Percy wrapped his arms around her waist when she did the same around his neck, pulling each other closer and deepening the kiss. Artemis's cinnamon taste would forever be etched in Percy's mind while his salty, seawater taste had the same effect on Artemis.

When they separated after 2 minutes, solely due to the need for air, Percy realized something. "Artemis...you are the only one for me. You are my soulmate, my other half. The way I feel for you, I can't for anybody else. Always have, always will, I love you Artemis" he said with such honesty that it made her heart flutter. "Happy Birthday, you dolt" Artemis said, pushing him down onto the sand. "Whatever you call me, I am still yours, my doe" he said as she sat on his lap and captured his lips in a searing kiss.

"Father, I need my vow to be lifted" Artemis declared once she and Zeus were alone in the Throne room. Zeus choked on air. "SAY WHAT?! Who is this boy, I will smite him" Zeus yelled. "No one touched my little girl." Artemis growled, "No one will harm him, father. I have observed him for a long and he is radically different from any other hero. He is the only one I ever loved and will ever love." "What if this is false? What if he has fed you a love potion?" he asked. Artemis snarled. "He is too damn loyal to do that. I will fight the entire council if I have to, for him."

This outburst though had a severely different reaction, Zeus's reaction turned not to rage but into a thoughtful one. "I know exactly who you are talking about Artemis. I have observed you for a long time. You may be a goddess, Artemis, but a father knows when his daughter loves someone. I was testing you. Percy is a good man. You have my permission" he said with a small smile. Artemis's hostility vanished instantly as she kissed his father's cheek.

She had enjoyed three months of peace with him, often sneaking out to meet him. They would chat like old times, only now, they would always be in each other's arms, making out ever so often. They would sometimes spend whole nights stargazing, cuddling together. Percy even took her out to the cinema, and that was the first time she saw a movie. Other times they would just walk around in the mortal world, hand in hand, like a normal couple. Though she was still not comfortable with public displays of affection, hugs and kisses were abundant.

When Artemis reached Camp that day to tell Percy that her father had approved, there was a huge uproar. Artemis frantically tried to locate him but to no avail. 2 days later, Olympus was placed under lockdown. Artemis was losing her mind. She almost blew up when she got to know that Percy was involved in yet another prophecy that also included her hunter, Annabeth Chase. They were literally fighting against the Gigantes and the earth mother herself and all her father does is wait, offering no help to the demigods.

Artemis had never been more bitter. She almost always stayed at her palace, worrying about her hunters and boyfriend, not talking to anybody, and snapping at everybody. The next few months were the most anguish-filled for her. Hera had returned after she was captured some time back, not that Artemis cared, but what she cared about was the news she brought.

Hera in the Council meeting told that she had deciphered the prophecy and to fulfill it, she had swapped the leaders from both camps and that also happened to include Percy. Worst of all, she had taken both Percy's memories and there was little he remembered. That day she tried to contact her hunters, to tell them to try and track Percy to the Roman Camp. Unfortunately for her, she was caught and was banished to Delos along with her brother for the remainder of the war.

She spent all of her days there either sulking around or trying to get news on the progress of the quest from the nymphs, dryads, naiads, and anyone she could ask. She still wasn't on speaking terms with Apollo, she just couldn't forgive him after their talk on Olympus where he bad-mouthed Percy. Things just worsened when Apollo found out she was dating Percy and Zeus had actually given permission.

On a day just like any other, Apollo was playing his ukulele, and Artemis being bored went for a stroll on the beach. That is where a naiad she had asked to keep her up to date appeared right beside her in the water, scaring her, though she managed to hide it. "Lady Artemis I bear news of Percy Jackson" the naiad said, breathing heavily, meaning she had swum all the way over here from the US.

Artemis's gloomy, mundane day suddenly turned bright and exciting as her ears perked at Perc's name. She snapped her fingers, making a chair appear each for both her and the naiad. Artemis unconsciously started drumming her fingers on her thighs from anxiety as the naiad caught her breath. "Well?" she asked finally, not being able to wait anymore. "Milady, Percy Jackson was sent to a quest to Alaska, where he fought Alcyoneus. He broke a massive chunk off the Hubbard Glacier, effectively crushing the giant underneath, and with Thanatos's help, he won" the naiad said as Artemis leaned in with interest and awe.

"When he made his way back, Polybotes was attacking the Roman camp. Percy Jackson fought him off and beat the giant with the help of Terminus. For his efforts, he was made Praetor" the naiad continued. Artemis turned wide-eyed. Percy had defeated 2 giants within a week. The next news had her almost falling off her chair. "He is currently on a flying ship, on his way over here, along with 6 other demigods, including a hunter." Artemis dismissed the naiad quickly. As soon as she was gone, Artemis jumped off her seat and yelped with joy.

The next few days were full of anxious waiting. Each day, Artemis would be at the beach by sunrise, peering into the horizon in hopes of seeing a flying ship. She would sit there the whole day, either waiting or reminiscing the times she and Percy spent together. Then one day it happened. Artemis was sulking on the beach, as the Mediterranean sun beat the waves, glinting off them, when she spotted the ship on the horizon.

The first one off the ship, as she watched was none other than her boyfriend. Percy Jackson never looked so handsome to Artemis as he did right now, with his wind-tousled hair and a devilish grin directed right at her. The other demigods, not aware of the relationship between Artemis and Percy, stood warily behind Percy and glared at him, scared that Artemis might smite him for grinning at the goddess in such a way. Artemis narrowed her eyes, silently enjoying how much she scared the demigods, slowly walking towards Percy, who was unfazed by her act.

When the demigods thought she would turn him into some critter, their eyes almost fell off from the sockets when Percy and Artemis pulled each other into a deep kiss. Both knew that this was probably a mistake, revealing the fact that they were in a relationship, but they couldn't care less. 8 months apart had taken a toll on both of them. They poured all their emotions into the kiss, to both, neither had tasted this good before. When they pulled apart a good 2 minutes later, they turned to face the gawking demigods.

"I hope you won't be telling anybody before we give permission right?" Artemis asked with an underlying threat. They audibly gulped and nodded vigorously. Apollo appeared on the beach and scoffed at the duo who were still holding hands. Percy bowed to the god, who showed no recognition. "Guys, you talk to Apollo, I will meet you on the ship" Percy declared as he was flashed away by Artemis to another part of the island.

The moment they were alone, Percy was slammed into a tree as Artemis pinned him to it. No words were spoken between the two as Artemis smashed her lips onto his. They spent the day together, talking and making out in between. But before either knew, it was already evening, meaning it was time for Percy to leave.

"I hope you don't leave me, Percy. You are very important to me, please don't die out there" Artemis pleaded. Percy pecked her lips. "Never Artemis. I will be back with you before you know it" he said as walked off into the sea and towards the ship.

Her happiness though was short-lived. The very next day the world around her collapsed as her heart shattered into a million pieces. Percy Jackson, the love of her life, had fallen into Tartarus, trying to save her hunter, Annabeth Chase. She was devastated. She broke down crying right in front of her brother. Apollo gave her a told-you-so look, referring to their conversation before the Titan War. But Artemis didn't see it, her head was still reeling from the devastating news.

For 2 days, she did nothing except mourning. She had moved into a shell of her own. Artemis would curl up, hugging her knees, and cry. The only words she said were "Percy please come back". Apollo for a few days left her like that, thinking this was what she deserved to break her oath for a male. But then his brotherly instincts kicked in. He saw how much Percy meant to her and honestly, he couldn't find a fault in that guy.

So on the 4th day, he gently approached Artemis, who was still curled into a ball. "Artemis" he said, shaking his sister. Artemis said nothing except giving him a questioning look. "I-I am sorry. I was being so selfish that I never saw how much of a good person Percy is. If, no, when he makes it out of Tartarus, I will not be in the way of your relationship. I am happy for you. Please forgive me" Apollo said softly. Artemis looked at her brother for some time before pulling him into a hug. "I forgive you, Apollo. It's just that Percy means a lot to me, Apollo. I hope he makes it out" she cried into his shoulder. "Don't worry, sis. If anyone can make it out of there, it's him" he said, patting her back. Artemis pulled herself together and for the first time in 4 days, she smiled.

Exactly a week later, she got news that made her stomach jump and her heart flutter. Percy had made it out of Tartarus alive. She yelled with joy, and this time Apollo joined her with a smile, finally realizing the pure love they shared had for each other. Just to annoy her further, Apollo even made a cheesy love song for her and Percy, teasing her that it would be the one he played at their wedding. Artemis turned golden but said nothing, though he saw her eyes glaze, he could see the hope she had for the wish to come true.

Artemis was ready to flash to where Percy was, to make sure he had no injuries, to pull him close to herself, to kiss his mouth which felt like seawater, to hold him close to herself. Yet luck seemed not to be on her side. Just as she was about to flash off, Hermes appeared to take Apollo and her to Olympus. She groaned in frustration but couldn't do anything. Once in the Throne room, she saw all the deities present there.

"Our children have reached. It is time we aid them to secure our victory. Prepare, for we attack tomorrow" Zeus bellowed and dismissed the council. Artemis flashed back to her palace and stayed there, a certain son of Poseidon occupying her thoughts. As she laid down on her bed, her eyes closed on their own accord. Gods seldom dreamt but Artemis did.

The first image she saw was her and Percy in beachwear, playing in the sea beside the beach. Percy was splashing water on her while she was laughing hard. Next was the image of a gathering hall prepared for a wedding. She could spot all the Olympians and many other people. But the center of attention was her and Percy. Percy was in a black tux, to her she looked like the hottest person alive; and Artemis was walking down the aisle, in a flowing white dress, shedding tears of happiness. Then she saw something that made her blush hard. Both Percy and her were lying on a bed, her face buried into Percy's chest, with his arms wrapped around her. The layer of sweat on their body and panting left little to imagination of what they had just done, yet both had the biggest smiles on their faces and a thin bedsheet was all that covered their nakedness. The next image was what melted her heart. It was a family photo on what appeared to be Montauk beach. Percy and she were standing with an arm around each other's waists. On Percy's side was a gorgeous 12-year-old girl with beautiful waist-length black hair and striking silver eyes. On Artemis's side was an 8-year-old boy with auburn hair and silver eyes with heavy green inserts.

And that is when she woke up. She didn't get up immediately, instead, she kept lying on the bed, focusing on the images her dream showed her. She remembered the family photo and wanted to hold on to it forever. She smiled in spite of being alone. Percy was everything an ideal man should be, if there was anyone with whom she would want to start a family with, it would either be Percy or no one at all. She still had to tell her hunters, which would be a problem. Then there was this stupid war. She could have everything she dreamt about if she won the battle. She gritted her teeth and got up. They would win this war, no matter what.

When Artemis and the gods arrived on the battlefield, Percy and the others were already cutting down the enemy ranks. That was the first time Artemis actually got to see Percy on the battlefield. It actually chilled here bones. Gone were his compassionate, mirth-filled eyes as a cold haze occupied them. He ruthlessly and mercilessly cut down the enemies. He was a true warrior, selfless and kind to his comrades, and a literal nightmare to his enemies.

Artemis engaged a Gigante and fought with the grace and majestic prowess of a tiger hunting down its prey. Even so, the skirmish went on for quite a while before she felt Percy's presence. The huge wave of calm washed over her as Percy fought by her side. They locked eyes once and then began fighting in such tandem that it would make the harmony of seasons jealous. Together they defeated 2 giants before cutting down the enemies, doing more damage together than all the allies combined.

Soon the war ended, resulting in Gaia's defeat and the gods' victory. Once again the heroes were called to the Throne room for their rewards. all throughout, Artemis and Percy kept stealing glances at one another, blushing when their eyes met. Percy was called out, at last, his name held distinction, being the twice savior of Olympus. He was given 3 wishes, as opposed to one each for the other heroes, meaning he could opt for godhood and still have 2 wishes.

Proving to be different once again, he used the first wish to return Hades and Hestia their Olympian status. Artemis watched with pride as he used his second wish to make the travel between both camps easier. Her heart sank a bit when he chose to hold on to the third wish for later use rather than becoming immortal, but if Percy was happy, she was too.

As the party started and everyone focused on themselves, Percy and Artemis stayed for a while, him talking to his friends and her talking to her hunters. Excusing themselves from the party, they subtly went out of the throne room and met outside. Percy pulled Artemis into a tight hug, breathing in her scent as she hugged back. Some way into the hug, she teleported them both to her palace.

As soon as they arrived in the hall, Artemis pulled back from the hug and bitch-slapped Percy right across his face. Percy staggered back, shocked and hurt. The moment he looked back at Artemis, his heart broke from guilt. Tears were streaming down her face in torrents. "I thought I l-lost you, you idiot" she cried hysterically. Percy pulled held her close but she still continued to cry. "I am here Bambi and I will never leave you" he comforted. "Did you even know what I went through when you jumped into Tartarus?" she asked, as she snuggled into Percy. "You were what pulled me through Tartarus. You are my anchor to this world Bambi" he said, wiping her tears away.

Artemis and Percy were closer than ever before. The tranquility and peace after the 2 wars brought them close to each other. It seemed that they had turned a new page in their relationship after the night they spent together on the day of the gods' victory of Gaia. Artemis had never been one for being lovey-dovey, hence why she chose to be an eternal maiden. She had clearly not thought of meeting someone like Percy. She just couldn't help but be a love-sick when she thought about that sea green-eyed boy.

Artemis had seen the ephemerality of love and how it affected people. As a godling, she was scared of falling in love. Her own father was one to blame among many. She was afraid to be cheated upon, to have her heart broken. No matter how strong its driving force was, it was a fragile thing. An element brittle enough to be broken by just a few words or even a small gesture. She never wanted to face the consequences of heartbreak and the men in ancient Greece just cemented her beliefs that love indeed caused more harm. And that is how and why she started her Hunt, giving a home to those wronged by this foreign force.

Then she met Percy. That boy just shattered through all the beliefs she had. Years of despising men for their heartbreaking nature crumpled in just one meeting. As time progressed she felt her will to hold off love melt away in the face of Percy's ever so endearing ways. She realized that love indeed was a force to be reckoned with, no matter how much you try, once you fall into its hold, it's impossible to break through.

But that didn't mean Artemis was unhappy. Percy had never disappointed her. She was actually glad that she had fallen for perhaps the most loyal and compassionate man out in the whole wide world. And she fell even deeper into the deep end for Percy when she saw that it wasn't in Percy's power to ever break someone's heart intentionally, strengthened even more by how much he cared for her.

It wasn't in Percy's power to ever break someone's heart intentionally The nearest thing she had experienced to heartbreak was when Percy had fallen into Tartarus. She knew Percy was mortal, that one day she would leave her with a broken heart, leave her forever. She would happily agree if he wanted to be a mortal forever. But that didn't mean she wasn't scared for when that happened yet how could she not love somebody who would sacrifice everything to keep his loved ones happy.

The feeling of his lips on hers, the fierce protectiveness he displayed if any other male looked at her funny, the giddy feeling she had when he held her in his strong arms, the electrifying feeling when he touched her; Artemis had them eternally etched into her immortal mind. A decade ago, she would have gutted anyone who called her a love-sick woman, yet now she admitted it herself. Percy was one in million, and there was no way she would waste her one chance at finding love. While the fates allowed her to find love, the last few years had been the most tragic for her, and yet once again it showed.

After the war, they found out that Apollo had helped the quest by telling them about Asclepius's location for the Physician's cure. Zeus, enraged that his son had disobeyed his orders, punished Apollo. He was made a mortal and was tasked with freeing all his oracles as a way to regain his throne on Olympus. Artemis meanwhile returned to her hunters, whom she still hadn't told about Percy, and continued her hunts. Percy had opted to study further after the war. He had enrolled himself at the college back in New Rome and was doing pretty well at that. In the meantime, Artemis and Percy saw each other more frequently, meeting each other every alternative day. While it had the potential to get caught, it somehow made it more exhilarating for them.

That day was another ordinary day for Percy, except he had a date with Artemis that night, yet tables turned when Reyna burst into the Roman camp, bloody, fatigued, and distraught. Percy, having known her, knew that it had to be something bad for such a capable fighter to be in such a bad shape. Once he had helped her to the infirmary and she had recuperated a bit, Percy asked her what had transpired for her to be in such a state. The response she got made his blood run cold.

"The hunters were ambushed, Percy. Lady Diana was on Olympus and the hunters were in the Wolf House. Orion managed to take them by surprise. He massacred them before I managed to kill him" she said, still a little breathless. Without a word, he rushed out of the infirmary, calling upon Artemis using his ring to flash him to where he was.

Nothing happened at first, and that bothered Percy. He realized how devastating it would have been for her. The Hunters were her sisters, daughters even. He remembered how she reacted when Zoe died all those years ago, and that was just one huntress. He never gave up trying to contact her, knowing she needed him more than ever right now. He kept on trying for half an hour before a silver glow enveloped him as he was whisked away.

The next moment, he was in Artemis's palace. No amount of mental preparation readied him for the condition he found Artemis in. She was curled up on the floor near her couch. The heart-wrenching sobs that made her body quake were enough to bring tears into Percy's eyes. Her beautiful and lush auburn hair was severely disheveled, cascading down around her in unruly strands. Her face was covered with never-ending free-falling tears and snot. Her eyes were bloodshot and hair matted her gorgeous face. Percy felt his heart break into tiny pieces.

He slowly approached her and shook Artemis gently. She looked at him with a broken look, gone were her sparkling silver eyes as dull pain of loss covered them. Percy sat down beside her and took her in his arms. She instantly wrapped her arms around his neck and began to sob and howl into his neck. "A-All my hunters. F-Four t-thousand years. Gone. Gone in a few hours. Only 4 survived. T-They were m-my family" she managed before breaking down into another round of heart-shattering sobs.

Percy gently picked her up and sat her on his lap like a child. She continued to cry into his shoulder as Percy wrapped an around her and stroked her back with the other. "Don't worry Bambi. It will get better soon" he said soothingly and continued to hold her close to himself, trying to comfort her the best he could. "I am sure they reached Elysium." She hoped Percy was right. "After today, I-I don't think I c-can rebuild the Hunt" she said as she held onto Percy for her life.

After some time, she calmed down a bit. Being in Percy's loving embrace had that effect. Tears still fell from time to time as she snuggled closer into Percy's hug, burying her head in the crook of Percy's neck. Then a thought struck her which left her with a lump in her throat. Her precious hunters, some millennia old, ones she loved like her daughters, passed away in front of her, leaving her hollow, all because they were mortals. What if...what if Percy passed away like that. She shuddered and broke down into fresh tears.

Percy sensed Artemis crying once again and grew concerned. "Bambi? What happened?" he asked pulling away to get a look at her face. For a moment, she cried, not able to find her voice. When she eventually did, she spoke in a small, broken voice. "P-Percy? Will you grant me a selfish wish?" she asked. Percy smiled at her, one that warmed her heart. "Never hesitate to ask me, my doe. No wish of yours is selfish" he said.

"Please-please your last wish. Please accept immortality" she asked as more tears dropped from her eyes. She didn't wait for Percy's answer. "I l-lost my hunters today. Why? B-Because they were mortal. I don't want to lose you, Percy. Ever. I would fade if you d-die. Please stay by my side, forever" she said, not able to take anymore as sobs shook her body. She felt him gently cup her cheek and felt his lips meet hers. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him back with passion. It was salty from her tears but relayed emotions like nothing else. Once he pulled back, he held her to his chest as Artemis melted into the feeling of his arms around her. One answer had her smashing her lips onto his as both fell back.

"I wanted to surprise you, Bambi. The ceremony will happen as soon as Apollo returns. I will be with you always, now, tomorrow, for eternity, and beyond that" Percy said as he fell back, sporting a big smile as Artemis shed tears of joy.

'PERSEUS JACKSON!" Zeus's voice rang out among the crowd of gods and demigods who had gathered to witness the coronation of a new immortal. The demigod in question got up from a chair at the foot of Poseidon's throne and stood right at the center of the throne room. "Some time ago, Percy Jackson, twice savior of Olympus, used his last wish to turn immortal. Today is the day of the ceremony. Are you ready Perseus?" Zeus asked. Percy subtly stole a glance at Artemis, who nodded with encouragement, trying to suppress a smile directed at Percy, who nodded and steadied himself for the temporary pain. There was a momentary pause where Zeus looked at Poseidon before he spoke again.

"Demigods, the council has decided that instead of immortality, Perseus will ascend to godhood. This is a gift from the council itself for his selflessness and valor, and his undying loyalty to Olympus" Zeus said with a small smile. Percy looked surprised as the crowd cheer for the 2-time hero. In ancient Greek, all the children of Kronos began an incantation. Divine white light fell from the sky and hit Percy. For a moment, he was lifted off the ground, blinding pain burning his insides as his blood was replaced with ichor, then with a small explosion of white light, the ray disappeared.

Percy let out a pained gasp as he fell on one knee. From all around at once, 3 ancient voices spoke together. "Rise, Hero. Everybody, hail Percy Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, Twice Savior of Olympus. We, the Fates, bestow upon you the domains of Loyalty, shall you forever recognize where others' loyalties lie; the domain of Courage, shall you forever imbued courage in fighting to for the right cause; the domain of Selflessness, shall you forever guide warriors to the path of selflessness; the domain of Swordsmanship, for the greatest swordsman to ever live; the domain of Tides, continuing the cycle in tandem with the moon. We grant you minor domains of Time, Earth, and Purity. All hail the 15th Olympian." With that the voices disappeared, leaving the room utterly silent.

A clap from Artemis was soon followed by the majority as the crowd roared in approval. "DECORUM!" Zeus yelled, in the backdrop, a sea-green colored throne rose up in front of Artemis and beside Apollo. Once the crowd somewhat became quiet, Zeus continued, "Now, Perseus here has to announce something to all of us" he said, pointing towards Artemis as Percy nodded.

"First, I may be a god but please refrain from using the word Lord before my name. Second, I have been dating Artemis, Goddess of the moon" Percy said. Artemis looked like a deer caught in a net. She did not know Percy would reveal this so suddenly. The crowd had receded into a shock-filled silence, looking at Artemis with open-mouths, waiting for her confirmation. She looked around, catching Apollo's eye, who wiggled his eyebrows in return. Sighing, she got up and flashed to Percy's side, taking his hand in hers.

"It i-is the truth. I am in a relationship with Percy Jackson" she said with a blush, but gained confidence as Percy's warm hand squeezed hers. She looked around the throne room. Poseidon and Zeus both had proud looks. Hera just scoffed, like always. Demeter, Dionysus, Hephaestus, Ares looked indifferent. Hades gave a nod of acceptance. Hestia had a kind smile, happy for her family. Apollo smirked, surprising Percy. Aphrodite, for once, gave a thumbs up and smile, without any teasing or drooling over Percy. Hermes too gave them a thumbs up. Athena gave a nod of approval. Artemis and Percy looked at each other and smiled, satisfied with the response they got. Apollo jumped down from his throne, returning to human size. "Alright, guys. LET'S PARTY!" he yelled as the throne room turned into a club with a snap of his fingers. Percy grabbed Artemis and went straight for the dance floor.

20 years. Time flew like the fleeting wind. Both Percy and Artemis felt like it was just yesterday that they had their first kiss. On a private beach, Percy and Artemis were celebrating their 20th anniversary as a couple, something Percy strongly insisted. Beachside dinner was something both greatly enjoyed. Something about eating together as moonlight illuminated the area and the crashing waves singing along hit differently.

Right now, both were sitting on the sand, legs spread in front of them. Artemis's head laid on Percy's shoulder as his rested on top of hers, enjoying the display of waves and moonlight. Being the god of time, Percy felt the clock strike midnight. He gently got up and led Artemis to the point where they had ankle-depth waves lapping around them. Artemis expected it, smiling to herself. The dolt she called her boyfriend, no fiance, in some moments, was too predictable. Just for the sake of it, she played along, trying her best to not laugh and playing confused.

As expected, Percy dropped to a knee in front of her and stretched his hand. The water around him rose up, covering his palm, and when it disappeared, he held a small velvet box. Inside was a beautiful platinum ring, it had a huge crescent moon encircling a sword made of sapphire. With a goofy smile, he began, "Artemis, my doe, I still remember the day I met you on Olympus. Never had I thought it would progress to this, yet I am grateful it did. I can't thank the fates enough for making us meet. As a demigod, you were the one who pulled me out of the Styx, it was your smile that kept me going while I fought Kronos. Tartarus looked a lot easier for my mission was to get back to you. You are the moon that shines on my dar-"

He was abruptly interrupted by Artemis's giggling. "Stop it, you fool. It's so cheesy that I am cringing" she chuckled with a mirth-filled smile, her silver eyes glinting with joy. "You figured it out, didn't you? And you were acting along" he asked with a deadpan as he stood up. Artemis burst out laughing, doubling over. "You are so predictable, Percy. I couldn't help it. I could see it from miles away." Percy smiled, he too already knew her answer, he just had to draw it out of her. "So Bambi, you still haven't answered the question. Will you marry me?" he asked mischievously. "Do I really have to say it aloud, you dumbo?" she asked back as she slowly started walking towards him. Percy opened his arms as Artemis leaped the rest of the distance, right into his arms as they shared a passionate lip-lock.

Once they pulled away, Artemis stepped back and put her hand, which glowed, and in it appeared a similar ring, except this one was had a trident crossed with an arrow. Percy raised an eyebrow. "Why should girls be behind?" Artemis replied as they put the rings on each other's fingers and hugged once again.

"Do you, Percy Jackson, take Phoebe Artemis as your wife?" Hera asked.

The wedding was happening on the original Parthenon, present-day Greece. December was the perfect time for tourists to visit Greece and the attendees of the biggest wedding in a millennium, which included all the gods and demigods, were more than happy to take a vacation, away from their duties, free of any looming war. The area had been closed off with mist and decorated with the most vibrant colors.

It was exactly how Artemis saw in her dream. Percy's best man was Apollo, who had struck up quite the friendship over the years. Annabeth Chase was the flower girl. She was among the 4 survivors of Hunt's massacre and had been given immortality. Maid of Honor had gone to Thalia Grace, another who survived and had been given immortality. With happiness in the air, everyone watched the soon-to-be wedded couple, who was standing on stage with big smiles, holding hands.

"I do" Percy said with conviction as a tear of joy escaped his eye.

"Do you, Phoebe Artemis, take him as your husband?" Hera asked her.

"I do" she said without hesitation, her eyes twinkling with happiness.

"With the power bestowed upon me, I declare you Husband and Wife. You may kiss the bride" Hera said as the couple closed the distance. As their lips met, cheers and shouts rang around the crowd.

Artemis was lying on her bed, snuggled up against Percy as they both stared up at the ceiling. She blushed when Percy wrapped an arm around her bare abdomen, his warm body against hers making their state of undress obvious. It had been 25 years since she had given up her virginity, yet it always felt like her first time. She remembered the night she gave up her virginity to Percy. She had been scared, knowing it would hurt, but she had readied herself for Percy's sake. Yes, she felt pain, but the pleasure they both experienced overpowered her pain by a huge margin. The next day she had her walk of shame, yet she felt at ease with what she had done, like it was meant to happen.

Right now, she was still catching her breath. She shivered, the bedsheet offering little resistance to the chill on her bare skin. Instinctively, Percy's hand tightened around her and brought her closer. Still, she felt somewhat different from all the other times they did it. Subconsciously, Artemis placed her hand on her lower abdomen and focused a little energy. A tingling sensation passed through her but then she felt it, making her giddy with delight.

Artemis gasped at her discovery, startling Percy. What he didn't see was her dreamy smile as he assumed the worst. "Are you okay, my doe? Did I hurt you today?" he looked down at Artemis with concern as her head was tucked under his chin. Artemis blushed harder as she realized Percy was referring to the other virginity Artemis had lost a few hours back. "No, you dolt, I am not talking about it" she said, burying her head into Percy's chest with embarrassment.

"Then what is the matter?" he asked. "What are your thoughts about children Percy?" she asked, pulling her face out of his chest and looking into his eyes. She watched with amusement as a look of realization passed his face. "You mean-" "Yes, Percy. I am pregnant" she said with the widest smile taking over her face.

Percy's face lit up with joy as he gave her a big grin. "Are you...Are you sure?" he asked as tears brimmed his eyes. "Yes, Percy" she said. A new felt joy spread through her as she realized the responsibilities that her bundle of joy would bring her. Her eyes too watered on their own accord. "I...I am going to be a father. Can you believe it?" Percy said as the first tear of joy escaped. Artemis chuckled at Percy's unbelieving tone, "And I will be a mother". Artemis sobered up suddenly.

"Percy, promise me...promise me you will never leave me" she said with longing. "Absolutely, Bambi. I swear I will never leave you. You are my soulmate, my other half, my love for you will never die, not even in the realm of the faded" he said as he cupped her cheek. Artemis purred like a cat and lunged forward, capturing his lips in a kiss. When they broke apart, Percy was on top of her. "Percy, no. I am tired" she said half-heartedly. "But this needs celebration, doesn't it, my doe?" he smiled cheekily as his body pressed against hers. "Damnit, Percy" Artemis said. Her arms wrapped around his neck as she brought him closer to her, thus starting off another passionate night for the soon-to-be parents.

Far, far away, a few years later, three immensely powerful old women sighed with satisfaction as they watched through a mist-like projection the musings of a family of 4. Right now they were posing for a family photo. They didn't do this often, but this family was a case close to their hearts.

The man, possibly one of the most handsome, with sea-green eyes and unruly raven-black hair was fondly looking at a woman who was at her side. They both had their arms around each other's waist. This woman had the most striking silver eyes full of joy. A gorgeous girl stood by her father's side, looking over towards her brother. She was clinging to the man's other arm. Like her father, she had raven-black hair, reaching her waist and platinum eyes like her mother. The boy was holding his mother's leg. He was an absolutely adorable being with auburn unruly hair and silver eyes.

Behind the projection they were watching was a display case that showed two intertwined threads like a trophy that was won, yet the end of the threads was nowhere to be seen, for it continued forever. To the 3 women, it was exactly that. The silver thread wrapping around the sea-green one was a masterpiece they had created. As the projection closed, they all made their way to the display case.

"Feels just like yesterday, does it not, Clotho" the middle one asked. "Yes, Lachesis. The finest destiny we have ever made" the one identified as Clotho said to the middle one. "Such a beautiful story. Can't believe we had to overpower Artemis's instincts to kill the boy the first time they met" the last one said, eyeing the silver thread. "Atropos speaks the truth, it was quite amusing to watch. Percy was the absolute perfect pick for Artemis in the end" Clotho said with a small smile, looking at the sea-green thread.

"This is a story for the ages. No matter how many hardships they faced, their affection for each other pulled them through it" Lachesis said proudly. "I am satisfied that you gave them the happy life they deserved." Atropos slumped her shoulders. "I remember that day. I had almost cut Percy's thread when he fought Tartarus. That would have been a terrible mistake" she said, remembering when she had almost cut his thread before Clotho had snatched it away.

"All is well that ends well" Lachesis said. "Let's sit back and enjoy sisters. Percy and Artemis's life is no longer ours to handle. Let's hope Mother Ananke guides their stride" They smiled and made their way back, picking up their tools as they weaved the fabrics of fate, leaving Percy and Artemis out of it. After the obstacles they had faced, it was time for the greatest hero and the fiercest goddess to find peace with each other.

This was the story of Percy Jackson and Phoebe Artemis. An exemplary life weaved by the fates. Love conquers all, all worries, all hardships, all hate. A diamond is the hardest known substance and possibly the most beautiful too. Yet in its raw state, it's very mundane, a gem in the hiding, if you say. For it to become the piece of beauty the world sees, it needs to be shaped, to be polished, with the uttermost care. Percy Jackson is the diamond, Artemis the one who brings out his beauty. Together they form the most beautiful thing in this world.

The force of love may be the strongest out there, yet its core is fragile, easily breakable. Put it inside a diamond, it is nigh impossible to break. As Artemis realized, this was the kind of love Percy shared with her, the strongest driving force put inside the strongest substance. It may have been a serendipitous start but she wouldn't have it any other way, glad she met Percy Jackson that one eventful night.
