It wasn't just the lights that were dim inside the Lair, the mood was also pretty gloomy. When the morphing grid surged, it knocked out most of the power to the Lair. The main room was being illuminated by small emergency lights. All of the consoles were fried and nothing short of an overhaul of the electrics could bring them back online.
Donatello had been able to use what little of the Lair's power left to keep the Lair hidden from Drakkon. April had managed to get back to the Lair. All of them were despondent, they had lost battles before but never all of their allies. The four turtles and one human stared at each other.
"What are we going to do now", April asked the group, "we cant beat Drakkon or Shredder".
"What about the morphing grid?" Leo asked.
Donatello fielded this question, "It's all connected, the rangers got their power from the morphing grid. My guess is that they were using too much energy during the battle and it overloaded".
As Billy finished his explanation. Splinter had remained quiet during the previous few minutes as he thought of a way to help his sons. The power coins had been created several thousand years ago. With them destroyed there was only one person who could help now. "My sons I know this situation seems hopeless, however, you must not lose faith or turn on each other", although he didn't say it directly this comment was directed at Leo and Raph.
"The power coins the rangers used were created by a legendary ninja master named Ninjor", Splinter continued, "we could seek out Ninjor. He should be able to craft new power coins to help you combat the forces of evil. He currently resides in the region known as the Desert of Despair".
" A map suddenly appeared in Splinter's hand, "This map will allow you to locate the Temple of Power".
"I've been able to divert all power available to the turtle van", Donatello said, "but it will completely drain the systems."
The assembled group nodded in agreed and Donatello pushed a button on the console and the four turtles and April headed to the van.
As the Lair powered down, Splinter watched his sons and his human student drive away, he hoped one of his old allies could help them, and hopefully they can revive the power rangers after Drakkon destroyed them.
