I've never written, and posted, a Fairy tail fanfic. So, Hopefully it's alright… I Absolutely love Elfman and Evergreen, they do not get enough love.

This one is set just after the last Episode! (I've not yet read the 100 year quest, so this won't match up manga wise)

I hope you enjoy it!

Not two weeks after Lucy got her award, an invite was posted to every guild member to a certain dragon slayers wedding. After years of on and off again Battles, the guild needed this kind of upbeat.. It was also nice to get back to just.. Life. It had the entire guild in a buzz, asking Gajeel and Levy all sorts of questions about their wedding to come. Meanwhile, Jet and Droy spend their time crying about how 'happy' they were.

Elfman, although happy for them, hadn't really thought too much about it. He wasn't asked to be a part of the groom's team, but was invited to the Bachelor party. So all there was for him to do was pick out an outfit and enjoy! It was all very manly if you asked him.

That is until his sister said "And what about a date?" She had done so with that Knowingly sweet smile. He wasn't a complete idiot, he knew what she was getting at. Well, More like Who.Without meaning to, his eyes instantly went to the Thunder Legions Table, Where Freed, Bickslow and the woman who occupied his mind far too often, Evergreen sat.

He shook his head before looking at Mirajane. "It's Manly to go with your sisters!" He stated. Hopefully by announcing his intention to go with her and Lisanna, She'd drop the topic.

It wasn't Like him and Evergreen were dating. They were partners for the S-Class Trials.. They'd danced together a few times.. One time, she kissed him on the cheek. To this day, he can still feel the ghost of her lips. But, they had never been on a date. He didn't need a date to know he loved her. And he didn't need to ask her to know, she'd never feel the same. Whenever he thought about it, he felt this swell of unmanly shame flow over him.

"You know that's not what I mean, Elf.." Mira said, Her Smile turning into one of pity and sadness. She nodded towards The thunder legion. "Ask her, What's the worst that can happen? She says no?" With that, Mira wandered off to serve cana another barrel.

Elfman looked back to Evergreen, The worst that could happen is she mocks him, laughs at him, rejects him. It's the worst case he just didn't want to see happen. He knew, if he approached her right now, she would have no choice but to reject him.

He knew her better than she thought, her pride just won't allow her to accept, even out of pity, a date with Him when she's in a room with the guild, and her friends.. That's when he saw her stand and head towards the door..

Without even thinking, he downed his drink and headed in the same direction. His mind was screaming at him to stop, that a broken heart wasn't manly, yet his feet just kept walking. He'd never been so disappointed in his own body till now.

"Ever!" He called out, watching her sigh before turning to face him. Her hair flowing in the light breeze.

"What? And don't call me that '' Something he noticed, is that whenever she told him not to call her by her nickname, it almost sounded like an afterthought.

"Em.. Where are you going?" He asked, Inwardly cringing at how awkward and forced that question sounded.

"Not that it's Any Of your business, But i was heading back to Fairy Hills." She placed her hand on her hip, the other that was holding her fan, lookin about ready to hit him should he say the wrong thing.

"It's not Manly to walk alone!" He Announced with Gusto, throwing a hand up to really emphasise it.

She sighed, and turned on her heel, walking away. "I'm not a man, Idiot!" He was so used to calling everyone but his sisters Man.. He just couldn't help it. But, he did notice that she wasn't a Man. Gods, did he notice.

He Sped up to walk beside her, watching as she pushed her glasses up her nose more. A Self continuous habit of hers. He didn't say anything further, his eyes occasionally looking over to her. She seemed fairly content.. A Stark difference from her annoyed self that started this walk. But as he saw Fairy Hills aprotching, he knew he had to speak..

"If you have something to say, say it" Evergreen demanded from next to him, coming to a stop. "I can see it on your face, You know.." Of course she saw his inner turmoil.. He wasn't surprised she could see right through him.

"Well em.." He gulped when she gave him that stare.. It was terrifyingly beautiful. It made him want to run and kiss her both at the same time. He closed his eyes and said "I think Gajeel proposing is manly!" He settled on.

Evergreen seemed less than impressed by his statement. "Is that Really all you wanted to say? You could have said that back at the guild hall, Rather than walking all the way here." She shook her head. "Honestly Elfman.. What am I going to do with you.." She spoke in barely a whisper, but he heard it nonetheless.

"You could.." He started, suddenly getting that bound of confidence. "Start by attending the wedding with me?" He placed his hands in his pockets, if only to stop himself from waving them around in panic..

She looked up at him, jaw dropped, looking surprised. He saw a few emotions flash across her face before she scowled at him. "That's hardly how you ask a lady out.." She pushed her glasses back up, looking over towards Fairy Hills. "But seeing as you came all this way just to ask that. I don't see why not, but if you call me, or anything I do manly again, You're on your own!" She didn't wait for his reply, just turned and walked towards her home. Well, Walk is an understatement. She was going much faster than before.

It took Elfman a moment to realise she'd said yes, in her own warped way, she'd accepted him. He had a date.. And not just with anyone, but with Evergreen of the Thunder Legion. That in itself was daunting.

He just needed to focus on not getting on her nerves for the next month.. Oh, And on how to tell his sisters he got the date..
