Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Future Endeavor Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Ben Ten, Cartoon Network and a few others do.
(Earth, 17 years ago)
Mason swung one of his mace clad arms at Gwen, knocking her to the ground. she sighed before her watch timed out.
"Seriously?" Gwen asked herself before Mason hovered down to the floor.
"I'm sorry, but I need the watch… you don't understand." Mason then sighed and looked to the side. A loose pile of rubble.
She kicked at it and Mason blinked before trying to turn invisible and groaning as the rubble collapsed onto him. he groaned and looked at the smirking fellow teen.
"And I'm sorry for not using that swamp heat alien…" Gwen muttered before Mason chuckled.
"A Methanosian? Yeah, might have been a better choice… though I always thought you should name your aliens... You ever considered Marspark for example?" Gwen was about to respond before Mason phased through the ground.
"Blasted alien… Marspark? That's not so bad… huh…" Gwen hummed and sighed before brushing off her jacket and walking away.
(Present Times.)
Jen watched a bolt of Mana entrap her hand as she grinned and continued to experiment. She then felt a super cold chill of air.
Mason was glad the DX- Mark 10 was indeed capable of surviving the cold… and he knew for a fact that being part Necrofriggian meant the kids were easily able to survive their powers being used on one another.
It didn't indeed make sure that they behaved as Gwen drove and he cradled Cassandra in his arms.
"You know that girl hasn't stopped using her Anodite powers since she met your aunt… she's growing up to be the best… doesn't mean she isn't arrogant and reckless at times." Mason muttered as he looked at his daughter and son.
Danny was humbler and more tactical, but Mason knew his son wouldn't be entirely ready for hero work yet. he was still taking karate…. He found it funny Jen managed to be skilled at magic, was very intelligent like her mother was, skilled at hand to hand… and still had room for her Necrofriggian abilities.
Still? Her hubris made her arrogant. Mason still recalled that her starting school meant problems considering he hadn't seen her use her Anodite powers yet.
"I know, but we're be fine… Hope and Rook can train them." Gwen took a second to remind herself who she spoke of.
Hope AKA 'Charmcaster', had long since abandoned her vendetta against Gwen and the Tennyson family as a whole.
Charmcaster had observed a future after returning home… the prime one where she saw her feud with Gwen was based off not wanting to be second to the girl in magic.
Since Hope had no real reason to indeed prove she was superior to Gwen and along with having people to govern? She had given up her criminal ways as they had no real end goal.
She acted a lot like an honorary aunt to Jen and the others and helped Jen hone her magic… she had gifted Jen the very spell book she was reading as another trinket of peace.
It helped that Mason knew Verdona was a lot less… willing to take things seriously, being interested in her great granddaughter having the gift right from her birth.
Mason didn't entirely trust Hope, but the girl had indeed made a full circle comeback and now served as a crimefighter alongside her uncle.
"You do remember she levitated the majority of the hospital room when she was born, right? Jen is probably as strong as Charmcaster was when you fight fought her… that reminds me, what happened to uh… Sunny I believe her name was?" Mason asked as the group pulled into the parking lot.
"She got sent off to have her own adventures and we don't talk about her at family meetings… why?" Gwen and the others got out of the car.
"Just wondering considering you don't seem to talk a lot about the Anodite part of the family." Mason stated before looking at Jen and Danny.
Jen used her powers to try and knock Danny down before he flapped his wings and hovered.
Jen giggled before whining as Danny blew a gust of air at her, causing her to shiver before looking at her parents.
Mason smiled despite herself and Gwen rolled her eyes at her children's antics. They were going to have a family dinner or so help her…
"Inside… NOW." Gwen pointed a finger inside as her children nodded and walked inside.
"You know… sometimes you scare me more than Vilgax." Mason muttered before phasing through the front door and walking inside.
"I know." Gwen smirked despite herself and walked inside, knowing just how wild and dangerous her abilities were.
"Reminds me of dealing with Animo as a kid… hmm, whatever happened to him?" Gwen questioned before walking inside.
Unbeknownst to her, she was being watched… and by a very familiar looking drone.
Author Notes
Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out I'm not trying to make Jen overpowered but she's supposed to be the more skilled of the kids. I'm also going to leave the flashbacks to more vital parts of the story which is 70 chapters or so currently. Next chapter will be on next Friday and will show a flashback to Gwen first fighting Dr. Animo. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
Ps: I'm also making a 'the batman' and a TMNT story soon.
