Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Future Endeavor Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Ben Ten, Cartoon Network and a few others do.
(Earth, Bellwood, currently)
Jen looked at her brother before turning back to look over her shoulder.
Fire trucks and police cars. The Human/Anodite/Necrofriggian looked at her mother, curious how her mother dealt with this.
"So… anyone want to comment on the robot squidface back there?" Jen asked, she looked between her parents
Her father was busy trying to question if they should have gone back there… while her mother was too busy on the phone.
A very normal day for the Tennyson Family, a very normal day.
"Well, I'm quite curious about the fact that he was a machine, I thought the Plumber records…" Danny felt a sharp elbow to his ribs from his slightly older sister.
"He wasn't a machine, doofus. That was a fake, a bag of bolts that was a knockoff of him. I was pointing out nobody wants to talk about the fact that we fought a robot copy of mom's worst bad guys?" Jen asked, her Necrofriggian features contorting slightly.
Besides the few features? She looked mostly Human, any human traits she had gotten entirely from her mother.
"She does have a point… we haven't seen Vilgax in over a year since you defeated him… and the accords still state he should ban from Earth." Mason turned to look at Gwen.
The mother and matriarch of the Tennyson Family WASN'T happy, the dinner was ruined, they had to report to the Plumbers.
Jen and Danny didn't have a bad relationship with their mother. Mason had spent the majority of the times Gwen was crime fighting… which was still a healthy amount due to the Plumbers becoming more common and the appearance of more heroes, that their mother loved them and wouldn't leave them ever.
It was also made apart that if Gwen was angry? You left her ALONE, NOBODY liked to see Gwen angry, because a skilled hero with an Omnitrix wasn't at all someone you messed with.
"Uh… Maybe I'll just order fast food." Mason didn't get a reply from Gwen.
Even being a Necrofriggian didn't excuse him from the lack of warmth he felt from her direction… OH, SHE WAS TICKED.
"Danny, did I tell you to use your watch inside the restaurant?" Danny almost wished he could shrink into the backseat.
"No… I thought Megasaurus…" Gwen rolled her eyes before realizing that she had named her aliens similarly.
"Would be the best fit for a crowded area full of people in the way of him?" Gwen asked, her hands gripping the steering wheel tightly as they pulled into the driveway.
Gwen walked inside and kicked off her shoes before going to watch tv. Mason turned to his children and shook his head.
"Your mother is only looking out for you… I wouldn't bug her right now. She's not so much mad at you, then what the robot did… I wouldn't get mad at whatever she says." Mason bent down to look at Jen and Danny.
He had spent months as a monstrous Rooter, doing all of their dirty look and being forced to fight in battles he didn't believe in.
His family? His relationship to Gwen? Mason couldn't be thinking of anything he wanted more than his family.
He tapped them both on the heads, a gesture he used to do when they were barely talking.
"Never forget your Tennysons. Being good is in your blood, gymnast, basketball player, super hero? Your destined for great things." Mason watched Jen and Danny's faces slowly grow smiles.
His children had problems, everyone did, but his children knew better then anyone how much their family valued them.
"You think Uncle Ben is coming over?" Danny asked, Mason hummed and looked to the side.
Their Uncle… Ben Tennyson, someone who was as close to Gwen as someone would consider their brother.
"Well, I don't know… I know Grandfather Max is coming." Mason felt weird saying that.
Then again, it was because nobody liked calling Max their Great, Great Grandfather, and even if he was that? most people still called the elder Plumber 'Grandpa' Max, mostly because that was what most people knew Max as.
"YOU MEAN WE GET TO MEET HIM AGAIN!?" Mason chuckled at his children's pure glee at seeing their retired grandfather.
Mason nodded and his family rushed inside past Gwen who stood in the doorway.
"Please don't tell me they know their Cousin Lucy is coming as well." Mason brought a finger to his lips.
"AUNT LUCY!? YES!" Jen yelled, Mason sighed and looked at his wife who hung her head.
"Well, they do now." Mason muttered, knowing that his daughter wasn't going to stop fangirling over their second cousin coming to visit.
"Can you make me coffee? I'm heading to bed." Mason hummed and nodded.
"Yeah… just don't expect them to go to bed at 10:00PM, that will keep her up for 2 hours more than usual." Gwen heard from her husband as he went to go and get coffee.
