Vibrant orange sparks explode from bark, followed by the sizzling hiss of fire being doused. Smoke billows out, and she knows the precipitation has been a blessing in disguise.
Tucking away her umbrella, Kagome resigns herself to the rain. She's lucky she wasn't closer to the strike.
She continues to run.
It's all she can do.
