Hey everyone! This is the final part of the series. This one also doesn't exactly relate to the other two. Yamato and Sora worked things out and enjoy a romantic sunset/evening alone! I hope you enjoy it and don't forget to leave a review when you finish reading!

Chapter 3: Watashi-tachi no Totte (For Us)

The sky had a pinkish tone mixed with orange and yellow. It was a typical spring day. A soft and warm breeze messed up with his blonde hair, but he didn't seem to mind.

The sunset seems more beautiful today. He thought to himself.

A few moments later, a glass door was opened and a female figure walked out of the apartment. She stopped right behind him and he could feel her breathing against his dark green shirt. She slipped her hands through his chest as she hugged him from behind. He couldn't help but smile. Life was perfect.
"I figured you'd be here. It seems like a habit lately. "
"I like watching the sunset. It's prettier than ever today."
"Yeah, it is." Sora tilted her head to her left, so she could see it better.
"Can you see it from there?" He said in a playful tone.
"I know you're tall and block almost half of my vision from here, but seriously? I get angry when you mock my height." She replied in the same tone.
Yamato laughed a little and leaned against the balcony.
"What are you thinking?" The red haired asked.
"It surprises me how you always seem to notice when I have something on my mind."
"Well, watching the sunset isn't the only reason why you always come outside, is it?"
"Yet this exact same scene happened another day, without questions."
"I thought you'd want some space. If you aren't still ready to share it, I completely understand it."
"I am." He placed his hand over hers.
The two rings in their hands reflected the last rays of light from that day. Yamato went quiet for some seconds.
"It was at this time."
"What?"
"When we lost our connection."
"Oh." Sora let go of him and stood by his side. "So that's why. You're missing him."
"Sunsets now have a different meaning."
"I wouldn't expect it to be any different." She sighed. "We are still struggling with their absence."
Yamato reached into his pocket and grabbed his harmonica. Sora stared at his hand with curiosity and then looked at him.
"I thought you had lost your harmonica."
"This is another one." He said, still looking at the horizon. "I was walking home the other day and saw a child playing one. I just had to buy a new one."
"How did it feel to play it again?"
"I felt like I was eleven again."
"Your inner child is still there."
"He had asked me to play for him." He looked down to keep her from seeing his tears.
"Yamato." The woman tenderly caressed his arm. "It's okay to cry."
"I promised I wouldn't cry for him anymore."
"Yet here you are."
"It was just a moment of weakness."
"Whoever you promised it to, you are allowed to break it."
"You know how I feel about promises." He held the tears back.
"I know. But I also know you worked hard to get past this hard shell."
"That was before I lost him."
"Okay." Sora bit her lower lip.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it to sound like that."
"It's okay." She looked down at a small lake inside a park near his building. "I feel like going there."
"What?"
Sora was already hitting the elevator button.
"Sora, wait up!"

There was no one else in the elevator at that time. They were standing side by side, but neither of them was talking. Yamato could feel her arm brushing against his and the unmistakable vanilla scent from her skin. He timidly reached out and softly touched her fingers with his own. Sora felt cold chills on her body, but couldn't help but smile.
"Your way of showing you're sorry is kinda cute."
"Does that mean you forgive me?"
"I already did." She intertwined her hand with his.
He took this gesture as a 'let's-get-closer' one and guided her to his front. She leaned against his body and he hugged her by the waist.
"This feels so good." The blonde whispered against her red hair.
She didn't reply, only made an 'hmmm' sound. It was enough for him to know she shared the same opinion.
"I could stay like this forever."
"We'll have plenty of time for it soon enough." Sora looked down to her hand over his as a smile appeared on her lips.

The first contact with the cold breeze that came with the evening sent cold chills through her body and she trembled a little.
"Shit, I didn't bring my jacket." Yamato said as he noticed his girlfriend rubbing her arms. "But wait, I think the black leather one is in my car. I'll be right back."
Sora leaned against the wall outside his building and watched a group of friends hanging out in the park across the street. She smiled and even felt a little jealous because a few years ago they used to be like that.
"Here you go." The blonde threw his jacket over her shoulders. "You look so cool with it."
"Are you saying I don't look cool otherwise?" She said playfully.
"Maybe." He replied jokingly too. "No, you always look cool."
"You don't do so bad yourself. You always had a great sense and taste of fashion."
"Thanks." His face turned a little red with the comment. He noticed she was staring at a booth not too far from them.
"Ice-cream?! Two minutes ago you were shivering and now you want one?"
"You know I can't resist ice cream."
"Alright." He reached into his side pocket for his wallet. "Which flavor do you want?"
"Choc chip cookies!" She said excitedly.
"I shouldn't be surprised. Your favorite. Of course." He said with a smile. "You're too predictable."
"Stop it!" She lightly hit him in the arm.

They walked in the park and were in awe with the trees full of flowers. They looked even more beautiful during the sunset.
"I love spring." Sora said as she put a lock of her hair behind her ear. "We should have a picnic soon, when we still have some free time before things at college get tough for both of us."
"I like that idea."
"Speaking of college, are you feeling a little more excited for this school year? Or hopeful maybe?"
"Yeah." Yamato looked down and smiled. "I think I finally found myself and reconnected with my dreams. Or at least, I'm closer to it. These aren't my only dreams, though."
He looked at her and she blushed. He couldn't help but laugh at her.
"You look cute when you're embarrassed."
"You got me by surprise."
"Mission accomplished. What about you, though? I mean, you've always been sure of what you wanted, but are you excited for this year?"
"I am. In my teenage years, I never thought I would be the one studying Fashion. I mean, Mimi was so into it that it only seemed natural for her to go down that path."
"This just shows life can surprise you. But for me, it always seemed like something for you as well."
"Really?" Sora looked at him with a surprised face. "You never told me that."
"I didn't?" He reached out for her hand and laced it with his. "Well, I'm telling you now."
"Tell me more."
"I always thought you dressed better than the other girls our age back then."
"Thank you." She smiled. "But it really doesn't mean anything. It takes more than dressing well. And did you really feel that way?"
"Yeah. You know I could never lie about things like that with you. In fact, I could never lie to you at all."
"That's true." The soon-to-be-stylist giggled and then looked up. "We've really come a long way, didn't we?"
"We sure did." He followed her last gesture. "We've had our ups and downs, as every couple does, but I'm really happy with where we stand now."
"Me too." She laid her head on his shoulder. "Can you imagine what would have happened if I didn't make the first move?"
"No, this is something I could never imagine." He replied sincerely. "Just the idea of it makes me uncomfortable. But I like to think we would be together in another way."
"Really?" Her eyebrows were raised.
"Yeah, we were so close that it would have happened anyway. I think we've been feeling the same thing for the whole time."
"That's a romantic way to look at it. And us."
"You were pretty good at hiding it from everyone, by the way."
"Thank you." She said proudly of herself. "I admit it was hard as time went by."
"I know the feeling. I'm surprised no one ever suspected our stolen glances."
"Mimi would have, if she was around enough time."
"And she would spill it out for everyone."
"Yeah, it was better that way."
"Takeru did, though. He would often tease me about it and say he loved the idea of having you as a sister-in-law."
"He's such a sweetheart. I love him. He's like a younger brother to me, which he is in a way."
"I'm sure he feels the same about you." He said in a proud tone.
"Do you remember who the first one to flirt was?"
"I think it was you maybe?" Yamato shrugged. "I believe you complimented my hair or something. At the time I didn't even think of it as a flirt."
"It was me?!" Sora tried to look for it in her mind. "Yeah, I think it was. But I wasn't complimenting your hair. I was complimenting you after your first show. I didn't consider it as flirt either. Or maybe I did. I don't go around flirting like that though."
"Not even now?" He said mischievously and hugged her by the waist, pulling her close to his body.
"Maybe." She pretended to think for a second, and then laughed.
The sexual tension grew between them as they both turned serious and stared intently at each other. Yamato leaned in and was only centimeters away from her mouth when she pushed him away while laughing. He looked at her, now a few meters away from him.
"Last one to reach the lake loses."
She then started running as fast as she could. He looked down with a smile and ran after her.

Even though she was in advantage, Yamato's physical training in college was starting to pay off and they arrived at the lake at the same time. She let out a yell of happiness when she felt his arms wrapping around her belly and spinning her around. He was spinning her so hard she had to hold his jacket, so it wouldn't fall off. Ultimately, they fall on the ground.
"That's not fair." Sora playfully complained as she lightly hit in his arm.
"You really thought you could beat me?"
"I can run fast too." She stuck her tongue at him.
"Are you twelve?" He couldn't stop laughing.
"Shut up!" She took some time to control her breathing. "I haven't have laughed this hard for a long time."
"Me too. It feels so good."
"I missed it."
"I missed you."
She turned her head to his direction, but this time he didn't look back. Instead, he kept looking ahead.
"I missed you too." She admitted at last as she looked away and felt his eyes on her this time.
Once again, Yamato leaned over her, pinning her arms to the ground with his hands this time. His eyes fell on her lips and he removed one of his hands from her arms and slowly traced the contour of her mouth. He was fully aware she could use her free arm to push him away, but her lips were so tempting he had to risk it.
Sora, on the other hand, didn't move below him at all. His touch on her lips sent some shocks all over body and she actually liked that feeling. But she was afraid they wouldn't be able to stop it before things got too heated between them. They were still in a public place after all.
"Yamato." Her voice sounding weak despite all the effort she took into making it steady. "We need to stop."
"What?!" He blinked a few times, visibly surprised. "I thought you were enjoying it."
"I was. I am. But anyone can come here and see us." She managed to sit down.
"I wouldn't mind." He stated and she raised her eyebrows. "I mean, we could always hide. But I get your point."
"We could get caught. Doesn't that scare you?"
"We would have to be extra careful. I do like the adrenaline though."
Sora placed a finger under her chin and seemed to consider it for a moment. "I'm sorry, I'm too terrified at the fact someone possibly seeing me naked or half-naked."
"Okay, okay." Yamato gave up. "So what do you want to do now?"
"We can just stay here and enjoy each other's company." She brought her knees closer to her chest and hugged them. "I was hoping you'd play for me."
He looked at her tenderly and then grabbed his instrument and started playing the same song he used to when he was eleven.

The young couple kept looking the last pink and orange shades disappeared in the horizon, the dark-blue sky above them now being full of stars.
"Have you seen Takeru lately?"
"No… I couldn't face him yet. I didn't have time too."
"Right."
"I'm sorry." He said looking at her. "Today is hitting me harder because it's been eight months."
"I know, Yamato." She said firmly. "The same thing happened to me too, remember? I'm also and still hurting and dealing with it. I thought we'd be helping each other with this."
Sora sat down and he stared at her for a few seconds before looking at the sky.
"I'm sorry. I know I'm being distant today. But I…"
"I know exactly how you can be in situations like these, Yamato. But this isn't something you are feeling alone. I share the same pain. We're about to share our lives together. Please don't shut me out. Or do, this way I know I'm better off alone."
"Sora." He sat down beside her and grabbed her hand. "I meant every word I said seven months ago. You are the best thing that happened to me. I know I still need to improve in many areas, but I'm getting there. I like me when I'm with you."
He kissed her hand as he looked at her. A smile appeared on his lips when he saw her expression soften.
"This is a low move." She said a little playfully.
"So are we okay?"
"Yes, we are okay. We've been through worse things than an argument and we got through it."
"I'm so happy I found you."
They pressed their hands against each other's and proudly stared at the rings on their ring fingers. Sora could barely hold her smile as their journey played on her mind. Yamato stared at her in awe.
"What are you thinking?" He asked her.
"I'm thinking about how we always seem to find our way back to each other everytime. I'm thinking that what we feel for each other is so strong it just can't be torn apart. Don't you feel it too?" Her eyes moved away from their hands to his piercing blue eyes.
"I do. It's a really strong feeling."
"Sometimes it scares me." She broke their eye contact and looked down. "It's so intense."
"I love you so much." He gently lifted her chin and their eyes locked glances again.
"I love you too."
Anticipating what was coming, she closed her eyes and waited for the next move. The blonde moved closer to her and was welcomed by her cherry flavored lips. He smiled when he felt her tongue begging for entrance into his mouth, which he gladly allowed, deepening their kiss.
