Hey guys a bit of soft Hap and also insecure Hap! Nothing too smutty happens in this chapter. Just some teasing. Again I like to have both points of view in a chapter just because in the show we only saw her viewpoint really, so I feel like with this type of story I like to give both viewpoints at the moment. Hope you enjoy it! out of the 200+ pages, I have written, this is only up to like page 58 here, so much more to be uploaded!

Prairie had laid back down in his bed again after their talk, but she couldn't sleep not after what she had confessed in her dream. Her mind was racing…after what he had revealed to her…that even if it was just a mere dream; it had still been him that had made her feel like that…shaking her head from the thought, no it was just a dream and he was just trying to control her more…it was the drug he had given her, and her injury that he had also given her. She didn't want his touch…no she couldn't want him…no she couldn't not when she had Homer…

Tossing and turning in his bed for hours unable to fall asleep, even in his soft comfortable bed she wasn't able to turn her mind off. Freezing once she hears the door open; she opened her eyes seeing Hap standing in the doorway.

"You've been restless for hours Prairie, is your head hurting?" Hap asked

Of course, he has been watching her, how else would he have known that, bastard.

"Leave me alone you peeping Tom" prairie groaned rolling over so her back was to him now.

"I can give you something to help sleep…" Hap offered

"No" prairie cut him off

Silence followed, but she felt him still standing in the doorway, watching her, hovering. It was annoying but she chose to ignore him. She was tired of being around him. If he wanted to be a creep and just stand there then she would just continue to ignore him. Sooner than she expected she heard the bedroom door close, sighing at the thought of being alone again until she felt the weight of the bed shift. Quickly rolling over to face the door she saw the back of Hap sitting on the edge of the bed, taking his shift off.

"What are you doing?" She asked sitting up quickly.

"What's it look like, I am getting ready for bed?" He answered as if her question was stupid.

Standing up quickly Prairie back away from the bed. He turned to face her, his shirt fully unbuttoned and pants unbuckled. Giving her full view to his chest and a peak at her boxers. Averting her eyes.

"No, you aren't sleeping in here…Hap no" she argued.

He simply laughed at her antics

"This is my bed Prairie; I do not want to sleep on my couch. So, if I want to sleep in my bed I will sleep in my bed. Now get back in bed" Hap told her standing up.

She watched in horror as he removed his pants and shirt, leaving him in only his black boxers again…giving her a view of his broad shoulders, wide chest, his stomach, he looked just how Jason did…. but this wasn't a dream…he wasn't Jason.

"No, I won't sleep here with you, take me back downstairs" she ordered.

He simply rolled his eyes at her dramatics and pulled the sheets back before laying down.

"You are in no way in a position to order me around Prairie, you cannot go downstairs, you cannot leave her and you know it. Stop being dramatic and lay down" he ordered her.

Prairie stood there in defiance, like a stubborn child being told no. Swaying on her feet, chewing on her bottom lip trying to think of an out. She didn't want to lay down next to him... not after she had told him her dream and he had expressed and showed her what his intentions were. What if he tried something while she was asleep…or if she had another dream…?

"Prairie" his voice warned her.

Slowly in defeat she climbed back into bed making sure to be on the very edge opposite of him. Almost to the point of falling off. They both laid their in awkward silence, neither of them moving. Only nose she could hear was his steady even breathing, which annoyingly she found soothing.

Prairie felt his fingers touching her head, she froze immediately. Hap ran his fingers carefully over her stitches, the gentle act brought goosebumps to her skin. From what she could tell he was making sure her stitches were still intact. He withdrew his fingers from her stitches and she relaxed thinking he was done touching her. But soon he moved his fingers through her hair, massaging her scalp. It felt wonderful, giving her a break from her constant headache. His hand traveled down to her still damp braided hair, skillfully undoing the braid, freeing her hair to him.

Prairie could help but lean her head back into his hand, feeling his fingers running through her hair, he was surprisingly careful and gentle making sure not to pull on her hair. It was such a caring and intimate act, it made prairie feel at ease. Her once stiff body was now fully relaxed and melted into the bed from his touch. Her eyes felt heavy and she allowed herself a sense of false security.

"Goodnight Prairie" she heard him say softly as she fell asleep to his touch.

Hap listened to Prairie fall asleep, didn't stop massaging her head until he knew fully she was deep asleep. It had been the first time she had been fully relaxed in his presence since when they first met. Rolling closer to her, wanting to remember this moment fully, the way she felt next to him, relaxed enough to share a bed with him, well he was sure he was a mixture of having to share a bed with him and exhaustion from her head injury.

Inching closer till he felt her damp hair against his face, inhaling lightly. Smelling of his soap, mint, she smelled like him. It was soothing and he soon felt the smell lulling him to sleep and welcoming sleep for once.

Hap woke up a couple of hours later, laying on his back, feeling a weight on the side of his body. Turning his head down to see Prairie sleeping form holding onto him. Her head was rested on his bare chest, one arm across his waist holding onto him. He could feel her breath on his skin and almost tickling. Closing his eyes to the sensation, allowing the feeling to soothe him back to a peaceful sleep.

Sunshine peeked through the window, stirring Hap to wake. Squinting the sleep away, bringing the hand under his head up to rub his eyes, he felt a body move next to him. Turning his head to see Prairie sleeping form next to him. Her back was to him, his other arm wrapped around her, holding her to him. Prairie was holding on to his arm tightly. So tight he could feel needles on his hand from the loss of blood flow.

He wished he could wake up every morning like this, sharing a bed with her. Having her asleep in his arms. Pulling her body back into him, wanting to savor the moment, because he knew once she woke up she would hate him and not let him touch her. But right now she welcomed his touch and he would enjoy the small moment of having her asleep in his arms.

Her body seemed to fit perfectly against his. Like they were made for each other. With the arm she was holding he gently drew shapes on her skin, making sure to remember how soft her skin felt. Nestling his face into her wild hair, never wanting the moment to end.

"That tickles" a tired voice spoke.

Opening his eyes again, realizing she was awake.

"Morning" he whispered back into her hair, gently rubbing her arm.

Prairie rolled over to face him, allowing him to see her beautiful face. Again, giving him a sight he wished he could wake up to every morning.

"You are holding me?" She asked him.

Completely ignoring her question letting his eyes roam over her face before resting on her lips. Would they part willingly for him? Would she sigh into his kiss?

"Hap? She asked breaking through his thoughts.

Looking back to her eyes seeing no hate or anger in them at the moment, he shrugged.

"I guess in our sleep it happened." He finally responded

Brushing stray hairs from her face, glad she didn't pull or flinch away from the act. Allowing his hand to caress her face for a moment. He withdrew his hand moving to behind his head to prop it up, to look at her fully.

She still hadn't moved away from him or gotten out of bed. Still close enough for their bodies to be touching each other. Wishing she wasn't wearing any clothes, so he could feel her bare chest against his own. Bolden by his dark thoughts he snaked his free arm under her, pulling her to his chest. Forcing her to lay her head back on his shoulder and her hand to rest on his chest. The simple touch made him shudder and his cock harden. Imagining what else her touch could do to him.

They laid like that for some time, looking, like a married couple, which brought his mind back to her dream of them. They had been married, shared a bed together, was she thinking about that right now? Was she reminiscing about her dream?

"Tell me, did your dream feel real or? He asked running a hand down her back.

He felt her body stiffen at the question, instinctively he pulled her closer to him, rubbing her back to soothe her.

"I'm not asking about that, I mean what you saw, felt, what you understood from it Prairie" he advised her.

From his comment she relaxed her body again, moving his hand up to her hair, twirling strands in his fingers. Truth be told he did want to know about the sexual side of her dream more, what exactly happened, what was felt, what she liked. But he wouldn't admit it to her right now. He waited for her to build enough strength to answer him.

"It felt real, all of it did, I had these memories of that life in my dream. Detailed memories of being Brit Marling, you being called Jason Isaacs." She spoke moving his fingers across his chest, this time the one drawing shapes.

Hap closed his eyes to the feeling, enjoying the sensation of her touching him, even if it was an innocent touch. Sighing inwardly willing to control himself.

"It all felt real, I had so many memories clashing against my own, memories flashing through my head. But I also held onto my own memories…it's hard to explain. It just felt real and overwhelming" she finished.

Wanting to know more, he stopped himself, as not to press her in this moment. Cupping her hand on his chest squiring lightly to convey he understood.

"You must be hungry; I will make you something to eat" Hap replied.

He didn't want to get out of bed really, not with her laying practically on him. But she needed food, reluctantly pulling himself away from her, he got out of bed to get dressed. He felt her eyes on him, watching him carefully. Turning to face her once he grabbed his pants from the ground. Giving her a full view of the front of his body. He watched as her eyes run over his body, before they fell towards his hips, eyes going wide turning away from him.

Confused by the action he looked down to his waist and saw the reason for her embarrassment. Lips curling slightly into a smile, she had just seen his morning wood probably on display from behind his boxers. He couldn't help but laugh at the situation.

"Get dressed" she hissed refusing to look at him.

Her embarrassment only made him laugh, even more, pulling his pants on, Hap made his way back over to her, getting in her view again.

"Don't be shy, nothing you haven't seen darling" he mimicked in a British accent, winking at her with some charm.

A playfulness he didn't know he had left in him but seeing the look on her face, her cheeks turning bright red he knew it was worth it. He could even tell she was trying to hold back a smile. Ducking her head under the covers from him, hiding from him. At this moment it felt like they were just normal. He wasn't her capture, and she was just a normal girl, lying in his bed.

Wanting to leave with this thought in his mind, he made his way into the kitchen, he would make her something simple and easy on her stomach; oatmeal, eggs, toast, with some tea. retrieving his glasses from his pocket, he placed them on and got to work, starting with the eggs first, toast, then the oatmeal and tea. Hap couldn't remember the last time he had actually cooked for someone, spent the night sharing a bed with someone, or even held them in his arms.

Prairie had waited for him to leave before poking her head back above the covers, knowing she was alone she stretched her body out, feeling her asleep muscles waking. She felt rested, with sleep she hadn't had since before she was here. How long had she been here? Getting out and bed and walking into the bathroom, she found what she assumed was his toothbrush, only one. frowning she wet her two fingers, pointer, and middle finger before lining toothpaste on them, and tried to brush her teeth the best she could.

Cleaning out any bile still left in her mouth, once it felt like the only taste in her mouth was mint, she moved into washing her face. Allowing the cold water to wake her up. Roaming her hands over his sink, her fingers brushed across what felt like deodorant, uncapping it and bringing it to her nose to inhale, smelling pinewoods, smelled like him…. Closing her eyes to the smell she thought about using it, but quickly brushed it away. It would be stupid. Quickly returning the deodorant back down, making her way to the kitchen.

Music greeted her ears, a sound she had truly missed. Walking towards the music she saw him shirtless, humming along to the music softly, a bit out of tune but not terrible. He looked normal, messy hair, shirtless, humming and cooking her breakfast. A sight that would make any woman happy after spending the night with a man, but hap wasn't normal, she wasn't some one-night stand girl, no, her friends were down below suffering and he was doing gods knows what to them…she couldn't smile at the sight, it would be wrong.

Hap turned to face her, an awkward smile on his face, giving her a boyish charm…as if saying "I'm trying here". Prairie turned away from him, sitting down at the kitchen table. Only moments later she heard a plate being put down in front of her, she could smell eggs, brown sugar oatmeal, toast, and also lavender tear again. Hap placed a fork in her hand before sitting down across from her with his cup of coffee and the newspaper.

The smell of food made her stomach grumble, while she was almost mouth-watering hungry she didn't move to eat her food, she thought of her friends, they wouldn't be able to have this…

"Your friends will get this food once you finish yours Prairie" Hap answered her thoughts as if reading her mind.

He hadn't bothered looking up from his newspaper, as if her worries weren't important. Knowing her friends would be getting to eat real food, she began to eat, savoring each bite. Not knowing when she'd get another chance to eat real food again. Once she finished her eggs and toast, she moved to her oatmeal.

"What day is it?" She asked him licking the brown sugar off her fork.

"Thursday" Hap responded still not looking from the paper.

"What's the date?" Prairie pressed.

"January 8th, 2016" he answered.

She had been trapped with him for 3 years…how could it have been that long…sinking into her chair from the realization.

"My birthday is coming up in 3 days…" she replied almost laughing at the thought.

The comment made Hap finally look at her, moving his newspaper so she could see his face. Lowering her eyes, a tense silence grew engulfing them.

"How old are you turning?" He asked, breaking the silence

"27" prairie responded playing with her oatmeal

Silence again engulfed them, the mood changing back to reality. He had kept her here for 3 years and she would grow older here. The silence deafening…prairie could practically hear the pulse in her ears.

"Can…can you read to me?" she asked '

Silence followed again, and she knew it was a mistake to have asked him. She was about to tell him to forget it when he finally answered her.

"Of course," he said softly.

Leaning back in her chair, closing her eyes, imagining she was somewhere else listening to the news on the tv.

"Gas prices are 10c down from last quarter, the Denver Broncos are set to play the Carolina Panthers in the super bowl. Donald Trump will be sworn into office, making him the 45th president." Hap read out loud

The last comment made her sit up, eyes open and looking at him in shock.

"I'm sorry what?" She asked

Hap looked up from the newspaper to her surprised face.

''Yes, Donald Trump won the election" he told her with a disgusted tone.

"The idiot who says "you're fired"? That dumb fuck? Prairie asked with displeasure in her voice

It must have been funny to see, as there was a hint of amusement in his eyes at her comment. Simply nodding at her, Hap continued to read to her. Resting her head back, closing her eyes once more to his voice, he read every news story to her in detail. Filing in missing information for her. An hour later he had finally finished.

"Thank you" she whispered.

Even though it wasn't much, it meant a lot to feel normal. To feel attached to the outside world. It must have caught him off guard as he turned away from her.

"Go ahead and clean up, and make the 3 of them some oatmeal and eggs" He spoke after clearing his throat before leaving the kitchen.

Remembering well enough around the kitchen, Prairie cleaned the mess Hap had left before finding what was needed to cook. Once almost down, Hap had returned, she could smell him before he had even announced himself. Giving a brief glance at him, noticing he had showered. The smell of his soap reaching her nose strongly. Turning to face him after he had cleared his throat, she was able to see fully his appearance. Wearing a black long sleeve buttoned dress shirt, matching black jeans, and shoes. Hair still wet and a bit messy what she assumed was towel drying his hair.

At the moment the bottom of his shirt was lifted cleaning his glasses, giving her a glimpse of his stomach.

"Have you finished?" Hap asked her placing the now clean glasses on.

Pulling her gaze up to his face, she simply nodded in response. He walked over to her, looking over the food, so close she could smell his pinewood deodorant. The heat of his body was intense, needing more space in between, Prairie moved behind to the opposite shelf to grab plates for the food.

Reaching into the cabinet, for the plates, but her hand felt nothing to where the plates were usually kept. Getting on the tips of her toes to reach further back, hoping they had just been pushed but when again her hand found nothing. Hap came beside her, grabbing her hand pulling it towards the right where she felt the plates.

"Here, they are at 2 o'clock now" he advised

Prairie could feel his breath on her neck, turning her head towards him, coming mere inches away from his face. She could smell his toothpaste and was that a hint of aftershave? His gaze was hot on her, tilting his head down to her, noses almost brushing each other. Prairie felt like she was under a hypnotic gaze, the kind a predator uses to catch its prey, she felt like she couldn't move, trapped by his eyes, waiting for the strike.

He ran his eyes over her face before settling on her lips. It seemed his eyes darkened looking at her lips as if hunger was consuming him. After what felt like an eternity, he pulled his eyes from her and moved away, she let out a breath she had been holding. Grabbing the plates and lowering back down from the tips of her toes she returned back to the food, filling each plate with oatmeal and eggs.

Before she could grab the plates to bring them down to her friend, Haps hands were on her waist, turning her around to face him. It happened so fast she didn't understand what was happening until he was kissing her. One hand on the back of her neck holding her to him, while the other was wrapped around her waist. His lips surprisingly soft against hers.

Soon he was deepening the innocent kiss, his tongue at her lips, Prairie felt like she was drunk, so confused to what was happening she parted her lips to him and felt his tongue slide into her mouth, stroking her tongue. The action was like no other kiss she had before. She had really only been kissed by 2 boys, one in 6th grade and the other in high school. But they were boys the kisses were awkward and sloppy. This kiss was nothing like that, no, this was an experienced kiss and Prairie wasn't sure what to do. He bit the bottom of her lip, pulling it slightly, the action caused her to gasp in surprise.

Her reaction caused the hand on waist grip to tighten almost painfully, he began to trail kisses down her neck, teeth nipping slightly against her skin. Causing Prairie to close her eyes to the act, he had made his way back up her neck kissing behind her ear, like in her dream it brought out the same reaction, she moaned softly.

The noise giving him more confidence as he groaned against her neck, his breathing heavy against her skin. Bolden by her moan, he moved the hand on her waist underneath her oversized shirt cupping her breast and running his thumb over her hardened nipple, bringing out another moan circling the sensitive bud.

"Fuck…that's the sweetest sound I've ever heard Prairie" Hap said in a gruff voice against her neck

Moving his hand to her other breast, he repeated the action before gently pinching her nipple causing Prairie to almost whimper more than to moan at the feeling. His lips were back on her kissing her with more force than before, his tongue sliding into her mouth, roaming over her bottom lip. Pressing his body further into her, forcing her lips to almost painfully being pressed into the counter.

Prairie was forced to place one hand behind her to counter the weight, while her other hand grabbed onto his forearm. A part of her mind was screaming at her this was wrong, that it wasn't right allowing him to touch her like this. But no matter what her mind yelled, her body still reacted to his touch, especially with what his hands were doing at the moment; his thumb brushing again over her nipple, making her knees go weak.

His hand on the back of her neck, tilted her head back, exposing more skin for him to leave kisses as his lips trailed down her body. Kissing her breasts over her shirt, before he lifted the shirt, giving him a full close-up view of her bare chest. Feeling insecure, Prairie closed her eyes as she felt his breath on her skin; heart fluttering when his lips enclosed over one of her nipples, tongue roaming over the pink perk bud.

'Why did this feel good' her mind screamed at her. 'This shouldn't feel good!' her conscience yelled

Haps free hand traveled lover down her body, to the waistband, she needed to stop this, break the trance before it was too late.

"The food…it's getting cold" she pleaded placing a hand on his chest, gently pushing him.

The comment made him release her nipple, flickering his tongue against her, causing her to stifle a moan. Clearly, he hadn't wanted to hear that. Opening her eyes, daring to look down at him, his face was rest against her sternum looking intently up at her.

"Please…" she pleaded again, silently asking him to not continue.

It seemed his eye dilated, darkening before going back to normal. He looked down at their positioning, His normal professional awkwardness coming back, pulling her shirt down before stepping back from her to the opposite counter. They both stood there in silence, neither one looking at each other.

"Let's get the food downstairs" he finally spoke after clearing his voice, running an awkward hand through his hair.

Hap grabbed two plates, while she carried one. She followed him to the door, hearing the sounds of the keypad to unlock the door.

"Open it and head down" he instructed her.

Clearly remembering the last time, they stood before the open door of pushing him down. Opening the door, entering the familiar darkness and smell or shared air. Once they both were inside descending the stairs, his hand came to her forearms, guiding her safely down at her own pace.

"Prairie!?" Homer's voice called out to her

Turning her head to the sound of his voice, hoping to be able to see him, but was met with the same darkness, seeing only a grey silhouette of a person. She couldn't see him…tears started to roll down her face. She had desperately wanted to see him…

"Prairie!" Rachel's voice cried out next, a tone of relief

"What happened? You've been gone too long." Scott's voice was next to call out, concern in his tone.

Hearing her friends again, brought a sense of comfort and relief back to her that she had been missing since being upstairs. Now she felt her tears mixed with both joy and sadness.

"You should be grateful again for her, she made you all breakfast" Hap spoke behind her.

While she was blind, she could still sense a shift in the air, her friends' eyes burning into him.

"What the fuck did you do to her!" Homer yelled at Hap.

Hap was standing too close to her, closer than he ever had in the past. Upsetting Homer. He pulled lightly on her forearm, leading her to the cells. Hearing the small latch at the open, sound of a plate scratching the floor.

"Say thank you to Prairie Scott" Hap ordered

Reaching out to the glass smiling towards him.

"Are you okay?" Scott asked quietly

Unable to find her voice she simply just nodded. Scott wasn't able to ask any more questions as Hap was quickly leading her to Rachel's cell, once again the small latch opened and he placed the plate of food through.

"I'm happy to see you, so happy you are still here Prairie…" Rachel spoke softly sorrow in her voice

"I have missed hearing your voice Rachel" Prairie cried out softly, giving a forced smile.

Hap led her finally to Homer's cell, she held his plate and slowly slide it through the opening for him, leaning her head against the glass.

"Prairie…are you okay…has he…. has he hurt you…? touched you…" Homer's voice shook

Closing her eyes, trying to imagine seeing his face, wanting to be near him again.

"Homer…" But she couldn't finish her lie, she felt guilt and shame wash over her.

Just moments ago she was enjoying the touch, kiss, and words of the man who was their tormentor. How could she lie to him?

"Prairie…." Homer's voice cracked

She could hear him fighting back tears and it made her want to reach out and hug him, to be safe within his arms…

But the hands that touched her weren't Homer's but Haps, he stood behind her again, too close; showing possession to Homer.

"You son of a bitch! What did you do to her! I swear to God if you do anything to her I will KILL YOU!" Homer yelled banging his fists against the glass.

Homer knew something had happened and it hurt her to hear him like this…because of her…

"Time to go Prairie" Hap spoke behind her, tone short

"No, please let me stay here, please…" She begged trying to grasp the glass cell wall.

She needed to stay here, to be with Homer. To be away from Hap…afraid of what else would happen if she gave into him. Trying to cling on to the glass was pointless, he gripped her arm tightly, practically dragging her with him.

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF HER!" Homer yelled banging his fists against the glass

Once Hap had pulled her towards the stairs, he dipped his head towards her.

"Go upstairs if you know what's good for them" He threatened

Hanging her head in defeat, she ascended the stairs hearing Homer yell for her and unable to answer him. Once they were both upstairs, hearing the door close and locking behind her did she truly feel helpless. Falling down to the ground, she let the feeling consume her, crying.

His arms wrapped around her shoulders, trying to comfort her, but it just made it all worse. The man causing the pain was trying to comfort her? Anger rose in her.

"Don't touch me!" she yelled at him, trying to push him away.

But all it did was cause his grip to tighten around her as he knelt on the floor, holding her.

"I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!" she screamed hitting her fists against his chest.

He tried to grab her wrists but she was able to catch him off guard and hitting him hard against the mouth, the force knocking his glasses off and turning his head.

"That's enough Prairie!" He yelled grabbing her wrists.

She tried to break free from him, but he held firmly to her. Looking to his face, his lip was bleeding, his eyes held frustration in them, but they softened when they met hers, which angered her further.

"How can you just sit there! I hate you!" She spat at him

"Because I know you don't have me, you can't, you are too pure for that Prairie" he told her.

Prairie didn't need his compassion or fake revelation, she needed to be away from him, he was the one causing pain and suffering, she pushed him away breaking free of his grip, and ran to the only place she could put space between them, his bedroom. Slamming the door, she flopped onto his bed like a child throwing a tantrum, not wanting to believe anything he had said to her. Even though deep down she knew she didn't hate him, even though she wanted to. She knew the only hate she had was towards herself…
