Everyone was ordered to have their last shore leave on the Citadel before they hit the Omega relay. One by one, the crew left the Normandy, leaving Shepard hiding up in her quarters.
She was hunkered down on the floor, sobbing as silently as she could. All the fear and anxiety hitting her when she was alone. Jane Shepard, resurrected to save the galaxy once again, only to possibly die once more.
A ping went off on her Omni tool startling her from her crying session. Thane Krios sent her a message.
"Shepard... I was informed by EDI that you have not left the Normandy. Would you like to have my company?"
Jane chuckled and broke into a smile. This drell has been making her heart beat faster, her eyelids flutter, and butterflies fly like crazy.
Ever since he dropped down from those vents with the warm orange hue of the sunset bathing his form, he took her breath away. He was gorgeous. The giant, black pearls he has for eyes are something she could stare into forever and just get lost in.
The door to her quarters swished open, pulling her away from her own form of 'solipsism'.
"Forgive me for intruding... Siha."
There he was. Standing seemingly stoic. However, she isn't fooled. Jane could feel the intensity of his form even when his head was tilted down.
"No worries at all, Thane. Do you need me for something?"
The drell rushed towards her and went down on one knee. He extended one hand and lightly touched her chin, tilting it up for her to look at him.
"I'll always need you Shepard... But this time I believe it is you who needs me."
Jane's eyes broke into tears again and uncontrollably sobbed infront of him.Thane pulled the commander into his arms and caressed her back to sooth her.
"Are you afraid of death Siha?"
Shepard shook her head, her face still buried on his chest.
"No it's not death, Krios. I just feel helpless... It's like I'm leading you all to your doom and even if it's my second life I still don't get to have a say on how I want to live. Death seems to really love me."
Thane stayed silent. Contemplating on what wise words he could say to comfort her soul, or if he even should say anything at all. Instead, he placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Shepard reciprocated it with a more passionate kiss on his lips as she held him tight. He broke away for a moment.
"I've made peace with my own inevitable death... Then there you were. Now I have more to live for with so little time. I'm... ashamed." Thane confessed.
As he was emotional and breathless, he continued,
"But to die for you, next to you, loving every part of you, is an honor, commander."
His heartfelt words left her speechless.
"How about this Thane... Won't you take a girl out on a date? I'll wear the best dress I can find in my Cerberus closet. We'll go to the Presidium... You can take my hand and my heart, and twirl me around for everyone to see."
The drell smirked at her proposition.
"Are you asking me to dance with you Shepard?... Challenge accepted. But first..."
His hands roamed from her back down to her hips. Caressing her in bigger motions with an occasional grip on her flesh. He breathed down her neck, inhaling her scent, intoxicating his senses. With his signature masculine, velvety voice he whispered in her ear.
"Let me explore every inch of you."
