"What?" You had to grip the back of a chair to keep from falling. "How?"

"Remind us what happened that night," Tony asked, taking the tablet and typing on it.

"We were in the library," you began and telling the story in much detail as you could, leaving out the part where you didn't have shirts on. Did you cause Loki's memory loss? Tears began to stream down your face, realizing that you have to had done something to him. Thor tried comforting you but it didn't stop the shame you were feeling. "I tried to stop the bleeding but-"

"With magic," Tony asked and you nodded.

"There wasn't much I could do," you continued. "Then the palace guards showed up."

The room was eerily quiet, except for Tony tapping on the tablet. You looked out the windows of the conference room and saw Loki leaned against the wall across from the room, his eyes furrowed in concern. He saw you crying. You ducked your head so Thor blocked Loki's view and pushed the tears away trying to calm down.

"What happened," Loki rushed in the room and took you in his arms. He was and you looked to see him glaring at Tony.

"Calm down, Reindeer Games," Tony handed the tablet to Loki. He took the tablet and stared at the screen.

"What is this?"

"You brain," Tony took the tablet back. "Turns out Swayze is the cause of your memory loss."

"What?" Loki's hold around you loosen and a new pang of guilt flooded your body. "What do mean?"

"It seems whatever happened that night made Y/N's magic to go crazy and messed with both your minds," Fury answered.

"I'm sorry," you tried your best to keep the tears out of your voice, but your voice cracked anyway. "I didn't mean to-"

"I know," Loki tightened his arms around you.

"But thanks to the last mission," Tony spoke up. "Swayze might be able to fix you both."

"How?"

"I'm not a wizard," Tony shrugged.

"I might know," Loki spoked up and you turned to face him. "You just have to manipulate you magic into the person's mind and you can do whatever you want. . . Theoretically."

"We'll head back to my lab," Tony set the tablet on the conference table and packed up his briefcase.

"We have a suitable lab here," Agent Hill spoke up.

"I like my lab," Tony went to the door and opened it, motioning to you and the princes. "Let's go kiddies."

Loki let go of you and took your hand in his. He kissed it and lead you out of the door. Everyone was quiet on the ride home, Loki held your hand the entire time. You glanced at him a couple times throughout the ride and saw that he was lost in thought. You didn't blame him, since you were blaming yourself. Why would you take his memories? Why did you mess with your own?

It was the next day when you made back to the tower, and Thor was out the car and pulling your stuff from the truck.

"I'll put in your room," Thor said and you went inside.

You and Loki sat across from each other in the test chamber of Tony's lab in silence. Loki and taking your other hand and you could hear Tony tapping at his computer.

"It's going to be okay," Loki whispered. "It was just a magic surge."

"I took your memories," you refused to look at Loki, instead finding the floor very interesting.

"You didn't take them," Loki corrected. "Only hid them away."

"I still messed with your mind," your voice cracked and Loki pulled you into a hug.

"I trust you," Loki whispered, kissing the top of your head.

"Okay," Tony's voice came over the speaker. "Whenever your ready."

Loki pulled away from you and took your hands again. He placed them on either side of his temples.

"You ready?"

"No."

"It's going to be fine, Love," Loki kissed you briefly on the lips and removed his hands from yours.

You could feel his magic pulling you gently into his mind and you let yourself be pulled in. When you opened your eyes you were surrounded by darkness, unsure of what was up or what was north. You wandered aimlessly until you found a lilac tree. You breathed in the air but instead of the floral scent you knew it smelled like spoiled meat. You held your nose and looked closer at the tree, looking for what was making the tree smell so horrible.

As you looked closer to the roots, you noticed that it was planted on top of something. It looked like someone had tried to dig what was underneath out, but was unsuccessful.

"Frigga," you whispered, realizing that this must have been what Loki's mother tried to do to recover Loki's memory. But she is an expert witch, how could she fail?

"It would be easier if it was a padlock or something," you groaned in frustration. "At least then their would be a key. . . Fuck."

You sat in front of the tree, trying to ignore the smell of rotting meat and turned your focus on yourself. You felt a rush of wind around you and opened your eyes to see a figure in front of you.

The figure lunged at you, giving you barely enough time to stumble away. You clambered for any weapon and your hands wrapped around the grip of a blade. You turned and met the figure's blade with yours. You tossed your arm, causing the attacker to stumble. You hurried to your feet and turned to face the attacker who came rushing to you again. Over and over your blades met each other as you tried to find an opening to take the figure down. The figure's movements began to quicken and become erratic until all you could do his parry the attacks. You movements felt sluggish in comparison and you felt a painful bite as the figure manage to slice your shoulder.

Your leg.

Your wrist.

You dropped your blade out of pain and tried your best to dodge the attacker's swings. You jumped backwards as the figure sliced the air where you were, you back landing against a wall.

"Wait," you yelled and the figure drove her blade into your side.

You could see the figure as clear as day now that it was inches away from you.

"Loki?" Your voice came from the figure on top of you as you stared into your own face.

"What are you doing!" You heard Loki shout to someone outside the library and your blood turned cold. You heard shuffling and thuds muffled behind the door.

There were two instead of one.

The one man in front of you smiled widely and kicked you square in the gut, making you fall back a couple steps. You clutch your stomach for a second trying to get air back in your lungs and barely got your sword up as the man thrusted the dagger at you. You heard Loki yelp in pain and kicked the man's knee, causing him to lurch forward, and turned to run to the door.

You pulled the door handle, but before you could open it wide enough, the man grabbed your neck and pulled you back.

"Let's give them some privacy," the man growled in your ear and anger filled your body.

"Like you did for us," you sneered and let the anger burn throughout your body, Loki's yells fanning the flames.

"The fuck," the man hissed in pain, his hand red as if he held a red hot iron right out of the forge. "You know magic."

"That's not all," you picked up your sword and charged, the heat turned to cold as you feint right and ran left. The man turned right and began scanning for you.

"Where the fuck did she go," the man cursed, his eyes passing over you, not seeing you.

You put yourself behind the man and as you dropped your glamour, you thrusted the sword deep into the man's neck. Blood poured out of the wound as you managed to slice his spine and he fell to the ground. He winced once and the life faded from his eyes. You turned from the body and ran to the door.

You threw the door open to see a figure standing over a mass on the ground. Fury fueling you body, you rushed the figure, they only having enough time to get their blade up in defense. Your attacks became erratic as you swung widely, slicing into the assassin's shoulder, leg, face.

The attacker got their blade up but you knocked it out of their hand, sending it flying down the hall. The assassin tried backing up but you were on them, thrusting your blade into their side.

"Y/N," the shock yelped came from Loki as he stared at you in fear.

"Wah," you looked to the mass on the ground and realized it was the second assassin. "Loki?"

"Where were you?" Loki's hand held your cheek, wetting it with his blood.

"No," you grappled his body as it fell to the ground. "You're going to be okay. It's going to be okay."

Tears streamed down your face and your hands shook, not knowing whether or not you should remove your blade from him.

"I'm sorry," you cried, your magic surging and spreading between the two of you. "I should never have met you. I'm so sorry."

"Y/N," Loki looked up at you, barely able to open his eyes. His voice sounded so weak and distant.

"Shh," you pressed your hand on his wounds, trying to direct your magic to stop the bleeding. "You're going to be okay."

Loki's eyes fluttered and the hand he had on your cheek fell to the ground.

"Lo?" Your hand moved to his cheek.

He was cold.

"Loki?" You couldn't control your magic anymore and it stormed around you. "Loki!"

A gust of wind sent you flying away from Loki down the hall. You picked yourself up to see Odin dropping next to Loki.

"I'm sorry," you cried, kneeing in front of the king of Asgard. "Please, save him."

Odin didn't answer and you watch him pull the blade from Loki's side, pressing his hand on the wound.

"Guards," Odin's voice echoed through the halls and a moment later men ran down the hall to where you were. "Take him to the healers."

"What about Y/N," one of the guards asked as another picked Loki up and turned and ran back down the hall.

"To the dungeons," Odin said and he stood and walked away.

"Is he going to be okay?" you called after him, but Odin ignored you. "Please tell me he'll be okay."

You didn't feel the pummel of the guard's sword hitting the back of your head.

The scene around you crumbled away, leaving a shovel in your hands. You wiped away the tears and took yourself back into Loki's mind. You worked on auto-pilot as you dug around the lilac tree, throwing dirt over your shoulder, and breaking small roots that got in your way. Your shovel final hit something soft. You dropped to your knees and started pushing the dirt out of the way until revealing a cloth surrounding bundle. You took the bundle out of the hole and set next to the lilac tree. You removed the cloth to find papers and books within the cloth.

"Need help," you heard Loki's voice and turned to look up at him. You were in the library of Asgard, back as when you were younger.

You lifted the bundle up onto a table and with Loki's help started to put the books back one by one. You found that the papers belonged to some of the books and when you placed the pieces of paper in the appropriate place in the book, the binding resealed itself around the paper, the books becoming whole. All the books were completed and placed on the shelves, saved for one last piece of paper.

Loki picked it up and looked at it, his brow furrowing in thought. You waited as he began folding the piece of paper. Pressing down the edges and turning it over, the piece of paper slowly morphed into a lilac flower. He took it over to you and with a smile placed it in your hand.

As soon as he let you, you found yourself sitting in the test chamber of Tony's lab, Loki lying on the floor unconscious.
