You had returned to Cairo in 1989 during the Cold War and walked through the bazaars. You had plans to travel further north to Berlin after hearing that East announced a change in relations to West Berlin. As you strolled the streets you saw a kid getting pushed into an alley. You always had a soft spot for children and followed behind to see the kid being beaten.

"You got to pay your fees Jo," a larger man kicked the boy in the stomach and you hurried in and threw the man away.

"Tough shit picking on a child," you helped the boy up and held him behind you.

"This is none of your business," the man pulled a knife and pointed it to you.

"Picking on a kid made it my business. What fees do a child has to pay."

"He part of the family," the man began. "You gotta pay your fees to stay in the family. We keep his mama safe and he works for us. But since he don't wanna work, he has to pay the protection fees."

"The alternative," you almost hoped you were wrong in your assumption.

"Mama works for us," the man licked his lips and started looking you up and down. "Maybe you want some work too."

"Let me talk to your boss," you pushed the kid and gestured for him to run off. He hesitated but dashed out of the alleyway leaving you with the gangster.

"You think you could just talk with the boss," the man laughed and walked closer to you.

"Yep," you closed the gap and quickly disarmed him and slammed him against the call. "You better take me to him."

"You remembered me," Ahmed laughed. "I'm so happy. I've been wanting to thank you for what you did, but I couldn't find you."

"Some way to thank me, honestly," you tugged against the chains again.

"I use to think you were some angel," Ahmed picked up a photo from the floor. "After you helped me, I didn't have to pay fees, my mother didn't have to sell herself, and I could actually get an education. The boss ended up seeing potential in me and started teaching me and I became his little protégé. Then you decided to pay my crew a visit over a month ago. And well, I couldn't believe that my angel had reappeared and looked the same as when I first laid eyes on her. You were able to do things that I never saw anyone else do. Naturally, I got curious."

"And what did your research tell you," you asked, nudging one of the papers with your foot.

"That you weren't exactly an angel," Ahmed moved from the chair and kneeled in front of you. "You are actually a goddess."

"And yet, here I am in chains," you rattled the chains again.

"Well, it was so hard catching you," Ahmed placed a hand on your cheek and you flinched away from it. "I didn't want my dove to get away."

"I'm not your dove," you hissed, his cologne made you stomach flip over. "What did you do to me?"

"When I made the realization that you were otherworldly being," Ahmed leaned back on his heels. "I had a serum produced to block your superhuman abilities and some stolen government technology helped to block your magic."

"So what now?" You looked down to try and cover your face and you tried to keep the contents of your stomach in your stomach.

"A dove must be kept in a cage," Ahmed stood up and began to walk away. "Or she'll fly away."

"So you are to keep me like a trophy then?" you listened to his footsteps retreated, glad that you didn't smell his cologne anymore.

"I think you'll look beautiful next to my lion head and elephant tusk display," Ahmed laugh and a door opened and closed.

You fought against your stomach again and began a breathing exercise. As you breathed in, you focused your energy to calm you mind and you body, soothing your morning sickness and blocking out anything sensations that were not necessary. Once calmed, you began to feel the frequency of the device and realized that it only lessened the effects of your magic occurring in your body. As you breathed, you slowly pulled your magic to one spot to create a shield that blocked out that frequency. As you worked, you were able to expand the shield, your magic slowly growing allowing you to search for the serum in your bloodstream.

You could feel sweat beading on your forehead and you used your magic to push the serum from your bloodstream into your stomach. Once you got as much as you could in your stomach, you leaned to the side and coughed up the contents. You broke concentration to hurl and your magic went out and your head pulsed in pain. You struggled to breathe for a moment, your throat dry and you stomach deciding it wanted pickles and peanut butter.

You decided to take the craving as a good sign and you dozed off for a few minutes and the strength in your body began growing again. There was enough serum to last you a few hours and you began looking for the device emitting the frequency and what you could use to escape. You couldn't see the device so you began deep breathing to focus you hearing senses to try and hear where the origin of the frequency. It took you longer than you had hoped, but you were able to sense it coming from another room of the warehouse. You had hoped they had kept it near you, but this wasn't a James Bond movie. Instead you had to try and get yourself out of your restraints before they came back with another dose.

In order to get out, you had to dislocate you thumb and shimmied out of the chains, trying not to make too much noise. You quickly walked in the opposite direction of where the frequency was coming from and looked out one of the windows of the warehouse. You saw a few men patrolling the area and picked up a crowbar that was in a tool box near some dust covered equipment. You started growing your magic against slowly, working to glamour yourself to sneak past, but it took longer than you wanted.

As soon as you completely glamour yourself and the crowbar, a door opened the Ahmed walked into the room.

"Guards," Ahmed shouted, and you hid behind the abandoned equipment as three men ran into the room. "Spread out, she can't be too far."

You stayed low and quiet and waited as the guards searched for you.

"There's footprints," a guard called and you looked down to see that you were leaving prints in the dust. You quickly walk to the door the men had came from hoping that it would take them a second to follow you. "She went out there."

You stepped out of the way as the guards hurried out the door and the door closed behind them.

"Now you got to teach me how you disappeared like that," Ahmed began walking around the warehouse. You used the guards footsteps to move around the room, your heart and head beating together. "It was smart to trick the guards to leave this room, but since there is thermo-imaging outside. . . I don't think you'll be going anywhere undetected."

You traced the footsteps to a window and looked out, the sun making you head hurt as you tried to keep the glamour up. You turned away and concentrated to keep your glamour up and continued to keep a distance between you and Ahmed. All you need to do was make sure that either you bought enough time for Tony and the rest of the team to find you or figure out a way to escape.

"It really hurts my feelings, Y/N," Ahmed continued, pausing next to where you lost your stomach. "If you were sick, I could have gotten you something. Maybe some ginger ale. Maybe some Tylenol."

While you could feel your Asgardian strength returning, your head was screaming. Your concentration was starting to slip and you it was a matter of time before Ahmed found you. You hid in a corner behind some old canisters, dropping your glamour to focus your magic to remove the prints you had to make. You magic began seeped away as you tried to bring a glamour back up. Your head started ringing and you magic left.

"Little dove," Ahmed spoke in a sing-song tone. "Little dove, where are you?"

You head was pounding and you clench your jaw to keep from making any noise, but your breathing was labored. You stomach began jumping and you curled your body into itself to try and keep from dry heaving.

"Where or where had my little dove gone," Ahmed began singing, his voice edging closer. "Oh where oh where could. . she. . be. ."

You heard an explosion and you felt relief, you head pressing into the concrete. A sigh escaped you as the cold began to calm your mind.

"Boss," a man burst into the room. "I-I-It's the-"

"Prepare the cars," Ahmed's voice was coming from above you. "I found my dove."

You felt you body being pulled from behind the canisters and you fought against your head to push Ahmed away from you. His cologne stormed your nostrils and you turned away and began to dry heave, falling to all fours

"My little dove truly is ill," Ahmed's voice feigned concern and you turned to see him smiling. "Is the serum not to your liking?"

"You could say that," you reached from the crowbar and slowly stood. "Ain't too keen on how much dust there is."

You heard another explosion closer and gunfire, Ahmed looked back slightly and a couple men came into the room. The cold concrete let you build your magic and you raised a glamour around the crowbar, it was easier then your body, but it still made you head hurt.

"Grab her," Ahmed began walking to the door and the two men grabbed your arms. You didn't resist and were glad they weren't wearing cologne. The four of you walked out of the room and down a hallway pass an office room with the door open, you peeked in the room and saw a device that was running, a soft whining coming from it.

The device.

You broke away from the two and swung the crowbar, dropping the glamour. You connected metal with one men's jaw and pulled the metal back to slamming into the other's nose.

"Dove has a little tricks," you turned to see Ahmed pointing a gun at you. "It was be a shame if anything were to happen."

"It would be a shame," you ducked into the office and slammed the door and locked it.

You took a chair and wedged it under the doorknob and turned to the device. Ahmed started banging at the door and you fiddled with the device trying to turn it off.

"You're making me angry," Ahmed called to you and he banged the door a couple more times. "Well if I can't have you..."

You hurt gun fire from behind he door and something bit your side. You looked down to see blood trickling out from the hole in your shirt and rage filled your body. You took the crowbar and beat the device until the lights turned off and you felt your magic flow back. Two more shots were fired and you felt the bullets dig into your arm and shoulder. You brought up a shield to stop a bullet that was aimed at your stomach and pushed the shield so it blew the door off it's hinges, shoving Ahmed into the wall.

"Wait," Ahmed brought up his gun but you rushed him and knocked the gun out of his hand. "I-I just-"

"Just wanted to make me into a Barbie doll," you hissed, you grabbed his collar and shoved him into the wall. "I should have never helped you."

"You don't mean that," you saw hurt in Ahmed's eyes. "You're my angel."

"I am not yours," you growled.

"If I can't have you," Ahmed spoke softly, you felt metal sliding into your stomach. You pulled away to see a dagger protruding, blood leaking between the metal. "Then no one can."

Shock racked your body and you felt your magic surging. Without thinking, you grabbed the blade and pulled it out, blood began gushing from the now open wound. You turned to Ahmed who looked as scared as the child you once helped, your magic causing the lights to explode and shower you in glass and sparks. You threw the blade and watched it sink into Ahmed's neck, he slid to the ground and you began walking down the hall.

You couldn't move one arm due to the bullets and the other was pressing against the knife wound, trying to stopped the bleeding. You walked out of the building to see men fighting with Iron Man, Captain America, and the rest of the Avengers. You saw lightning burst from the sky as saw a flash of green weave between the men.

"Loki," your voice was weak as you fell onto the ground, your vision closing. You couldn't control your magic to cauterize the wound and you could only hope that the baby would pull through.

"Y/N," you heard panic leaking from Loki's voice and you felt hands pull you from the ground. "Are you o. . . I NEED HELP!"

"LoLo," you struggled to keep your eyes open and you looked up to see Loki leaning over you. "How was Asgard?"

"Lonely without you," Loki scoffed. "You're going to be okay."

You could hear the fighting dying down and people started running to you. You lifted a hand and pressed it against Loki's cheek, it felt wet.

"I'm sorry I wasn't here to protect you," Loki's voice broke.

"Misunderstandings," you smiled, darkness pulling you away. "And. . . ass-kissing."

Darkness surrounded you and you could only feel lips pressing against your forehead.
