And I think you should know

That I won't let it go

I thought that I wasn't enough

But I don't wanna say goodbye

And I think you should know

It was hard to say

May

After ten long years, Michael Scofield was back in his hometown. How could he not be here, his older brother Lincoln was getting married to the love of his life, one Veronica Donovan. Funnily enough, Lincoln and Veronica met through Sara and when Vee turned 14 and Linc 16, they became childhood sweethearts. And the rest as they say is history.

Michael looked down at his watch, shit he was late. He was supposed to be at the Capital Grilled ten minutes ago to have lunch with Lincoln and Veronica, but his flight had been delayed so he got to the hotel later than expected. As he approached the front of the restaurant, he took a moment to catch his breath. Pushing through the doors, he was met by the host.

"Burrows." The host quickly scanned the pad in front of him. After a beat, Michael was led to the couple sat down looking over a few papers.

Michael cleared his throat and got their attention.

"Mike!" Lincoln exclaimed as he got up to hug his little brother. Michael returned his older brother's hug, giving him a pat on the shoulder. "I'm so glad you're home."

"Glad to be back." Michael said as he pulled back and looked over his brother. It's been a while since he's seen Lincoln. After losing their mother ten years ago, Michael could not stand being in this town, it was too hard for him, so he left. Lincoln too, following Veronica to New York where she attended Columbia University for their law school programme. After seven years had passed, the newly engaged Lincoln and Veronica decided to go back home, to Chicago.

He turned to his future sister in law, Veronica and pulled her into a hug. "Hello Vee, nice to see you."

"Hello Mikey, I'm so happy you could make it." He smiled, there were only three people in the world who called him that. He pulled back and they all sat down, skimming through the menu.

After consuming three courses, they were about done. Michael had ordered an espresso whilst Veronica and Lincoln sampled the cheesecake.

After taking a bite of the cheesecake, Veronica turns her attention to Michael who seemed to be in deep thought as he stirred his drink.

Veronica clears her throat and calls out Michael to get his attention and she does. "Mike, there's something I should warn you about."

Michael realised that Veronica wanted his attention, so he looks up and sees a serious expression on her face. He glances at his brother who now looks a bit uncomfortable. "What would that be?"

He can see Veronica contemplating her next sentence as Lincoln's eyes darted everywhere but him.

After skipping a beat contemplating on how she should handle this, she comes out with, "You need to talk to Sara."

Michael's heart skips a beat at the mention of her name, god it's been so long since he last saw her. The last time was the day after his mother's funeral. His mind flashed back.

Michael wasn't a drinker but tonight he was, how could he not he'd just buried mother, he needed to feel numb. He raised the half empty bottle of Jack to his mouth and grimaced as the whiskey burned the back of his throat. Michael let out a heavy sigh as he stood motionless on the grass and felt the cold wet rain fall against his face as he looked up at her bedroom window. Sara loved the rain and so she would leave her curtain open. He knew she would still be awake by the faint glow of light, probably the reason why he had come over here, but he knew she would be pissed. He was supposed to be here hours ago.

He wandered across the garden and sat himself down on the cast iron bench, feeling the alcohol flowing through his veins as he sat in the Tancredi's garden.

"Michael, what the hell are you doing out here?"

His head snaps back up at the sound of her voice and sees Sara standing in front of him under a big umbrella.

"More to the point, where the hell have you been?" She exclaimed.

Michael rakes his fingers through his now short wet hair. "I'm sorry, I just needed to clear my head for a while."

Sara narrowed her eyes at the sight of the bottle, "And you thought drinking half a bottle would help you do that."

Michael ignores her comment, he came here for one thing and he needed to get it out. "I thought you should probably know that Linc and I are selling the house."

Sara gaped at Michael, "And when did you decide this?"

He cleared his throat, looking into her eyes and saw the pain he'd caused. "I… I can't stay here Sara. It's too painful." Tears he tried to keep buried had come gushing out.

"But it won't always be like this Michael." She whispered, joining him on the bench reaching for his free hand.

"I see my mom, everywhere. I just can't stay here. Lincoln is moving to New York; he's going to stay with Vee and get a job out there and I'll be going back to Boston."

Sara bit her lip, "But you'll still come back and visit right? And I can come to you too?"

Michael wore a sad smile, "Yeah, maybe." He placed his finger under her chin slowly bringing her face to meet his. "You know I …I'll miss you."

"And I'll miss you too."

In that moment Sara was overcome with courage, she touched his face wiping his tears as she leant her forehead against his. Sara felt her heart began to pound loudly in her chest, "Kiss me."

Michael was stunned. But he did. He closed his eyes as their lips came crashing down on each other. He kissed her with so much passion she thought she would melt on the ground. His lips were so soft and warm and just then Sara's tongue ran across his bottom lip and that's all it took for him, he opened his mouth allowing her entry as his fingers tangled in her hair. Their tongues continued to explore each other's mouth and before they knew it they were on their feet. Sara swallowed thickly as his mouth moved from hers to her neck. Sara took a deep breath, the sensation his kisses created was incredible. Michael was kissing the sweet spot just below her earlobe and she heard herself moan. Her moan snapped her back to reality realising she was standing in her family's garden making out with her best friend. Not wanting to get caught, she came to her senses and grabbed Michael's face to level it with hers.

She is met by the most intense blue-grey eyes, seeing nothing but lust in there. She couldn't blame him, hers probably mirrored his. "Let's go." And with that she took his hand and led him into the house he was so oh familiar with. Thankfully, they managed to walk through the kitchen and upstairs as quietly possible.

Just then they entered Sara's room with the moonlight shining brightly after the rain had stopped. As the door clicked shut behind them, Sara made sure it was locked.

As soon as she turned around, Michael had reached for her hand and tugged on it to pull her to him. No words were spoken as they turned to face one another. Both afraid to speak in case the spell that had been cast between is broken. His lips came back crashing down on hers as they tore off each other's clothing. His hand had reached under her t-shirt and he began to knead her breast. She squeezed her thighs together as she felt the hear burn between her legs, her stomach was doing wild flips as she'd never experienced this before. She just became desperate for more, she wanted to feel his hands on her bare skin and she needed to feel him inside of her.

She grabbed his ass and pulled him against her, grinding her hips against his. He lifted his head and saw the hunger in her eyes, god knows he needed this too. She was driving him absolutely mad.

Standing in the moonlight only in their underwear, the last clothing barrier for them, he stepped back and admired her beauty. For him, this is the perfect goodbye.

Michael grabs her by the waist and kissed her with so much passion. Then moves down to her neck and slowly continues his way down her body kneeling down in front of her. He could feel her body shaking with anticipation. He grabbed both sides of her lace underwear and brought down her long legs, tossing it over his shoulder. He gently lifted one of her legs up over his shoulder for balance. He moved lower and she could feel his hot breath so close to her swollen centre. Lightly running his tongue along her moist slit had her weeping. He drove his tongue deep into her hot centre as she thrusted her hips forward. One hand shot down to grip his head as she brought the other hand over her mouth, his exploration got her wanting to scream but she knew she couldn't. she couldn't risk this being broken up. She could feel a build-up of pressure in her core as he found the taut bud and swirled and flicked his tongue over it. Her body was screaming for release, he ran his thumb down her centre as he sucked on the taut bud sending her into oblivion as her orgasm overcame here. She placed both hands on his should as she trembled with pleasure. She placed both hands on either side of his face and brought him to her and kissed him with passion, tasting herself on his lips.

"I need you Michael." Sara backed herself into her bed, falling on top of it. Michael remained standing above her, "Take them off."

He looked into her eyes, and he couldn't see anything but darkness. He swallowed and took a step back. Obliging, he pushed down his underwear and joined her. She could feel his hard arousal against her stomach as he positioned himself on top of her. She bucked her hips against him as he began to suck on her earlobe, diggings her nails into his back.

"Michael…"

"Are you sure this is what you want?" He breathed against her ear.

"More than anything." Her body was aching for him.

And that was all he needed, tonight he was hers and she was his…

"Earth to Michael." Veronica shouted as she waved her hand in front of his face, snapping him back to reality.

Michael is taken to the present, trying to remember what Veronica last said. He cleared his throat, "What was that again?"

Veronica tutted, "Please talk to Sara."

He sighed, looking between Veronica and Lincoln. "Of course. In the meantime, could you enlighten me?"

Lincoln refuses to look at him whilst Veronica placed a hand over his on the table, "Just talk to Sara."

He smiled, it is about time he saw her. Veronica looked at him nervously, he has no idea what he is in for. And that scared the shit out of her.
