CHAPTER 1: A world of Bloody Evolution
"Allow me to ask you this... Did you truly think that repeating the same plan and the same mistakes would defeat me?"
"I was stuck in a rut and I was foolish for not even thinking of something else..."
On the Island of Patch, a 10-year-old girl with brown hair and silver eyes watched in anguish from afar as her home burned and the bodies of her parents were being dragged away by a large muscular-looking Grimm.
"Have you heard of Causality?"
"Of course, it's the relationship between cause and effect"
Jade would have run and tried to save her parents, but her aunt was holding her back.
Her aunt, who had short white hair and was now also in a bit of a bad condition, she was bleeding from her stomach and she had a large spike in her leg.
"Yes, you see, the cause of your inaction in vale had the effect of me winning, the cause of your lies gave the effect that you could not be trusted, the cause of ideals between your pawns had the effect of them splitting up and wasting their time"
"I'm sorry Jade..." She whispered, "I'm so sorry..."
"Yes, yes, yes, I understand, but the same could be said for you"
Her aunt had knocked her out and everything went black.
But the scene of her burnt home.
"What are you speaking of?"
"The cause of Cinders ambition had the effect of losing most of your own pawns, the cause if your ruthlessness had the effect for humanity and fauna to come together and fight a common enemy..."
the bodies of her mother and father being dragged away and taken by Grimm.
The smell of smoke and the feeling of agony and also pure hatred in her body would forever be imprinted upon her very soul...
"And the cause of that night with young Jade had the effect of your downfall"
"I suppose you are right... But you forget that the flow of Causality also got up with those two fools"
"That it did... That it did"

It's now been 4 months since her parents died, and her Aunt had begun to raise her. However, both Jade and her aunt had changed both Mentally and Physically.
Her aunt's once white long hair was now cut in pixie-cut and her right eye and parts of the area around it was scared due to the burns that she had suffered that night. She didn't cover it up, for whatever reason, Jade didn't know. She now wore a grey t-shirt and over that was a black jacket, she also wore a pair of black skintight pants with a pair of heeled black boots.
Jade had grown as well, still, at the age of 10, Her hair was cut to shoulder-length and she also began to have very light brown highlights and she wore Black tinted sunglasses to hid her silver eyes, "For her own good" Her Aunt told her and she also wore a sideways cross necklace around her neck. She currently wore a jade-green sleeveless shirt/hoodie, a pair of dark purple shorts, and black stockings with some small rips and tears on her legs, and a pair of black and green shoes.
They both now lived near the border between Vale and Vacuo in a large city called Valdune. It was a rather busy place and the work they provided was just simple carrier business. Delivering Packages, letters, and other items to and from other people. Sor far, it was only Jade and her Aunt working the business, but they both worked hard and they the money was great sometimes.
However, today was different. Jade was making a delivery by herself today as her Aunt had to deal with some other errands today. Currently, jade was walking down the street, when she began to hear people whispering, which was a bit unusual since the city was mostly loud and very talkative, and while that was still true, she couldn't help but notice that there were more hushed whispers today, and she wanted to know what it was about.
"I heard he was able to kill a hundred of Queen Salem's men, a hundred! can you believe that!?" someone cried in a hushed tone
"I heard his sword could cut through anything! some say it never chips and it's unbreakable!" said another
'Who are they talking about?' Jade asked herself.
She began to wonder, she didn't notice that she was about to walk right into the street of moving cars, as soon as she heard the blaring of a car horn, she was taken out of her thoughts and saw the incoming car, her eyes widened in fear as she was expecting to get hit, however, a hard tug from the back of her shirt, pulled her out of the road back onto the sidewalk, she had fallen on her butt due to the sudden pull but she knew she was alive as she saw the oncoming car pass her vision. She breathed rapidly, but then slowly looked to her side and saw a tall man who wore a completely black cloak around his body, and all she could see was his head, which had shaggy blond hair that covered parts of his eyes, which were also a Cobalt blue color.
"You should be more careful next time," He told her
He then started to walk away from Jade and down the street, Jade just looked in awe at the man. She then quickly got up and decided to hurry and make her delivery and then head home back to her Aunt.

It's been so long since she was alone with her thoughts, which for her was a terrible thing. Her inner self would just remind her how much she lost and her many, many mistakes over the years. The world had changed ever since Salem won. The Kingdoms were united under her and she had brought a sort of peace to the world, well, that was if you didn't focus on the rouge organization's out there that still fought against Salem's rule. However, she knew it was a lot better to hide than to fight now. The Huntsmen Schools now trained Salem's Army to crush and fight any kingdom or group that opposed her, anyone from the time before her rule that was a trained huntsman was hunted and killed. She sighed, wondering if anyone she knew had survived that day they had lost.
'Now's no time to think about this Weiss, you just need to make sure to lay low and keep Jade Safe' She told herself
Yes, this is the Weiss Schnee, now at the age of 29, the once ex-heiress to the Schnee dust company, and former official huntsmen, was deemed a criminal in all 5 kingdoms. She has changed. A lot has, and not for the best.
Ruby and Oscar are gone, killed, and most likely eaten by Salem's Grimm. Who knows what happened to Yang. Blake also disappeared, but apparently, she's been supposedly spotted leading an attack on one of Salem's loyal Generals, Jaune hasn't been spotted, but she assumes he still fighting in the shadows somehow, Ren and Nora died that day due to them leading the front line's and Mercury and Emerald are presumed dead since they were also on the front lines of the attack with JNPR. Qrow might dead, Ozpin hasn't resurfaced, Goodwitch was publicly executed on Salem's orders, no one's heard anything about Winter, Whitley, or her mother, and Even Raven herself has been captured and Broken, forced to rot in prison. No one knows what happened to Cinder, and Neo has gone missing, though Weiss knows she has to be alive somewhere, surviving is what she does best. As for everyone else... She didn't know.
The Relics have been hidden again, She assumed that Salem kept them in her new Castle but she wasn't certain.
Though, to be truthful, Weiss didn't care about that anymore. As far as she was concerned, Ozpin's little war could go to hell, so could any who fought against Salem. Raven was right. There was no stopping her. They tried everything, and they failed.
Weiss lost everything. Her home, her friends, her family, her lovers... her own child.
'don't think about that... don't do this to yourself!' she told herself
Suddenly, the door to her office opened, and in walked a woman around Weiss's age, this woman was Sammy Demigo, a local small restaurant owner who had helped and befriended Weiss. She had brown hair, and was currently in her chef outfit, telling Weiss she was either on a break herself or just decided to stop by on her way home.
"Hey, Weiss! I hope you don't mind that I stopped by!" She said
Weiss smiled softly at her, "of course I don't mind, you know how boring it is here at the moment?" She replied with a smirk
Sammy chuckled and sat across from Weiss, "So, how's business?" Sammy asked
"The Usual" Weiss replied
"That boring huh?" Sammy asked with a grin
Weiss nodded
"Well, hey, I got some city gossip if ya wanna hear it!" Sammy said, "It's some actual big shit this time!"
Weiss rolled her eyes with a smile, but nodded, "Go on"
"Apparently, some people have seen the so-called "Black Swordsman" Crossing the Border and that he's somewhere in the city right now," Sammy said
"The Black Swordsman?" Weiss asked
Sammy looked at her with confusion, but then remembered that she was still new to everything here, which included the story from 9 years ago. "Right, I forgot you're still somewhat new to everything here," Sammy said "Anyway, the Black Swordsman is supposed to be this guy from that showed up 9 years ago, he was a survivor of "The Great Takeover" and he's been killing most of the new types of Grimm that have been popping up"
'Another survivor of that day?' Weiss thought 'it's not unlikely but still... he's a swordsman, and he's got black clothing, could this be Qrow? it's not impossible, he'd be 42 now but he still be able to fight, I need more information
"Sounds interesting, has anyone ever seen him though?" Weiss asked
Sammy nodded, "I have of course! and so have other people, though people's description of him differ" Sammy told him "during the first three years under Queen Salem, some people said he has short black hair, red-eyes, and he had a large sword that could cut through anything!"
'sounds like Qrow, but still...' Weiss thought "Ok, but you said people's descriptions of him differed, why?"
"Because the Black Swordsman that I met, he had blonde hair, and he had a simple one-handed sword!"
'wait!? Blonde hair and a single-handed sword, now it kind of aligned with Jaune... could they both have survived? If that's true, something must have happened to Qrow for Jaune to take on the Mantle of this "Black swordsman" but what?' Weiss thought
"and you sure you saw him or was it just your imagination?" Weiss asked
Sammy looked at Weiss in mock hurt, "How dare you say I never got to see the Black Swordsman! I did! I saw him with my very own eyes!" Sammy said with a smile
"Still, if he's someone who fought in "The Great Takeover" Doesn't that mean he's a criminal?" Weiss asked, hating herself a little for sounding like a bitch and claiming innocents.
"Bah! Who cares what The "Queen" says! She doesn't know how much good he's done!" Sammy said, sounding a little agitated
Weiss chuckled a little, "I guess, but remember, keep comments like that to yourself, if any huntsmen or Soldiers hear you, you could be fined or worse, punished" Weiss said
Sammy just sighed, "I know... but why call them evil or bad people? they use to be heroes that saved us, now... most of them are dead" Sammy said
Weiss looked at her in sympathy. She understood more than anyone.
"Well, I better get home, I'll see you later Weiss," Sammy said
Weiss waved her goodbye as she left and decided it was time to close up and head home as well. 'just have to wait for Jade to get back' Weiss told herself, Weiss then looked at the clock on the wall and saw that Jade had been gone for an hour, "Where the hell is she?" Weiss asked

Meanwhile, 5 miles away from the town, The black-cloaked figure had just finished killing some soldiers of Salem's Army. A Soldier, wearing a dark red and white Uniform was currently bleeding heavily from his side.
"J-J-Just you wait till the General here's about this!" Cried the soldier
"Oh, I'm counting on them finding out," Said the cloaked man "Because once he does come for me, He'll be next"
"Do y-you have any i-idea of what he's c-capable of!?" Cried the soldier
"I know what he is, but I've killed plenty of people like him" The Cloaked figured told the soldier "He's just another stepping stone for me to get to them"
And with that, the soldier bled out fully and died. The cloaked figure meanwhile, began walking off into the distance and would settle down in a nearby cave. Unaware, that he was only a mile away from Weiss and Jade's house.
A/N: For those of you wondering, Weiss looks like Maki(Jujutsu Kaisen) with her Burns
