She doesn't feel like walking, so Inuyasha carries her on his back to the well.

They walk mostly in silence. The sunshine should be pleasant. Any other day, Kagome would appreciate the vivid green of the trees and the grass and the sweet, gummy scent of blooming flowers.

But not today.

Inuyasha sighs and gives her legs a gentle squeeze. "You like him that much?"

Kagome doesn't say anything, but she rests her head on his shoulder and nods.

"And him?"

"I think so," she whispers.

"Think?"

Her voice is quiet. "He held my hand."

"Sesshoumaru?"

"Yeah."
