I was tired of seeing the same old Stories for Inuyasha stories, Kagome has a special sibling without a reason... so I thought, how could I make it make sense... one path worked really well, like it worked entirely within the lore of the series. This is what I came up with, a character who's fates and identity would be a perfect fit for the series and it's themes.

"Oh, how could I forget my dear grand children's birthday?" Gramp Higarashi's warm voice made Tenzin smile, he enjoyed his grandfather's excitability. The man's love for all of the ancient and mythological had been fully inherited by his eldest grandson, even if Kagome found the stuff boring and annoying.

"A gift for us!" Kagome said, looking at their grandfather with a smile.

Their grandfather handed her a hand. "The mummified hand of a water imp is sure to bring happiness. In fact, the origin of that is…"

His sister rudely handed the present to their cat, who bit it and rushed off. "Have a snack, Buyo."

Grandpa screamed. " No, don't give it away!" He tried to get it back but the damn cat scratched him and rushed off. Sighing in defeat, the old man turned to his grandson. "At least you appreciate my presents. Here is your gift, a sword crafted by one of our ancestors to protect the shrine centuries ago!"

The blade was beautiful, simply crafted with a wave design on it, whereas the sheath was a simple plain black. It was a katana, a fitting sword for Tenzin who had been practicing Kendo since he was six. It would never sell for much, but it was old and Tenzin knew that his grandfather loved it so to him it was beyond wealth. He embraced the old man. " Thank you, Grandpa! I'll bring it to school, my professor would love to assess it, seeing as it was a part of history."

"I am glad you like, son, I thought it was fitting given your love of Kendo. You're the third most skilled Kendo practioner of your age in the entire country!"

Blushing a little, Tenzin held the sword with reverence. It meant the world to him and he would cherish it always... " Best birthday ever!"

Kagome and Tezin shared a smile as they put on their shoes, ready for the day. He always saw his sister off to school, unlike her he was a college student so he went later in the day. He was carrying his sword, even if he wasn't going to school today, he wanted to show his professor what he had been given.

"We're off!" Kagome said before they rushed out of the house. She stopped as they passed the hut containing the sacred well. "Huh? Sota?"

Sota, their little brother, was standing by the door of the hut with a bowl of cat food "Sis…"

Kagome frowned. " You're not supposed to play around here."

Tenzin frowned too. "You could fall into the well, kiddo!"

Sota frowned. "But Buyo…"

"Did he go into the Hidden Well?" Kagome asked before the three of them walked into the hut.

The hut wasn't very big, but it was deep. At the bottom of a set of stairs was a square well, sealed off and covered in sacred seals. There were countless stories about it, stories that Tenzin memorized from his Grandfather over the years.

Sota called out. " Buyo! I think he's at the bottom."

Kagome teased. "Why don't you go down?"

"This place gives me the creeps."

Tenzin sighed. "You can't always be ruled by your fears, kiddo."

A scrapping sound startled them all. " Something's down there!" Sota said before hiding behind Tenzin.

"Stupid. It's the cat! Aw, man…" Kagome said, her tone irritated.

Together they walked down the stairs, the scrapping getting louder. Tenzin felt a rush of fear as something occurred to him. 'The seals are intact, there is no way the cat is down there!'

"Buyo!" Sota screamed, startling them all. Buyo was next to their sister, purring loudly as Kagome picked him up. He looked at Tenzin, hissing low before bolting as he always did. The damn thing hated him, had since they first got the damned cat. Most animals did that around Tenzin, no one knew why...

"You scared me! Don't scream so loud, Sis!"

Kagome glared at their little brother. "Watch it! I'm down here 'cause you're scared!"

A sharp hiss drew Tenzin's attention to the wheel, where a bright blue light traced the entrance of the well before it shattered entirely.

Sota called out "Sis!"

Something white emerged from the well, knocking Tenzin to the side before turning into hands that grabbed Kagome. In an instant, his beloved twin sister was pulled into the well. Without hesitating, sword in hand, Tenzin jumped in after her only to find there was no well inside but a blue vortex with his sister descending in the arms of a busty naked woman, whose lower body was a massive snake like skeleton.

The woman moaned. "Such joy! I can feel my strength returning! My body is coming to life again!" Her lower body, in great flashes, began to return, showing her to be part Centipede of all things. "You have it, don't you? Don't you?" A long, pointed tongue came from her mouth, tracing patterns onto Kagome's face.

Kagome, ever the defiant girl she was, screamed. " Let me go! You're disgusting!" She reached out, her hand touching the woman's face. "Let me go, I said!" A potent pink light exploded from Kagome's hands, blasting the woman away and tearing off one of the arms attached to Kagome.

"You little…! You won't escape from me! The Sacred Jewel…!"

The centipede faded away as the two of them continued to fall, as they did a pink light glowed on his sister's side.

Kagome whispered. "The Sacred Jewel?" The arm fell from Kagome's body, just as he reached her and pulled her into a hug.

She turned into him, her breathing fast. " What was that?"

"I don't know, sis... are you okay?"

" I think so... Am we inside the well? We gotta get out! " She stood up. " Sota! Are you there? Get Gramps!" There was no answer. That kid! He ran away!"

Tenzin grabbed her arm, pointing upward. "We aren't... sis, look up!"

She did and both gaped at the sight before them... no longer was there a hut above them, somehow they were outside.

Together they climbed up the well, helping each other safely do this. Once they reached the top, they were amazed to see a lush field of grass and forest that was thick and full of life.

"Gramps! Mom? Gramps! Mom!" Kagome called out as they walked through the grass.

"Sis, there is no way we are near home... nothing looks the same."

She ignored him as they walked into the forest, listening to the Birds tweeting. Suddenly she gasped. "The Sacred Tree!" She pointed upward, to the sacred tree they grew up so close to. Together they ran towards it, evading roots and rocks as they desperately made their way home.

"What a relief!" She said, her voice filled with hope.

Then they broke through bushes and saw something that would change their lives forever. A boy, with red clothes and white hair, was pinned onto the tree, with roots growing over him. An arrow pierced through his chest. His eyes are closed and he looked peacefully asleep... he was handsome, oddly so... but what really stood out was the dog ears atop his head.

"A boy?" Kagome said as she climbed the roots, Tenzin helping her to not fall. "These…aren't human ears. I want to touch them" She then started to rub his ears. "Hey, try this, their so soft!"

Before he could, and he really wanted to, a rustle drew their attention. A crowd of men, all dressed in medieval clothes, appeared holding spears and bows.

"You there! What're you up to?!" One hollered as the others fired their arrows. Somehow they all missed, but that mattered little as before Tenzin could respond and pull out his sword to defend them, they were bum rushed and captured. Within moments they were tied up and carried off on horses, gagged as to not say a word.

Tenzin's sword was taken from him and a deep hatred over took him. 'If they hurt that sword, their souls are mine!' From his place on horseback, he froze, horrified at the raw hate oozing through him. He was actually shaking, his heart beating cold energy through his blood. 'The hell was that?' He had never been so angry before, so... hateful. It was sort of scary...

'It felt good to be so mad...'

And that thought scared him more than anything else...

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This is one of my best ideas periods, I have never seen any idea that comes close to this awesomeness or uniqueness... you will love it if you can guess the twist!

Love, your Ninja Overlord,

Mika.
