This is a great story, I am so proud of it and I am excited to see where it is going to go. I love the naturalistic changes to the minor and major plots. I have an idea who he will get with, romantically...
P.S. Inuyasha is the stronger of the two, but Tenzin actually is trained professionally and knows how to fight, so he is equally as dangerous.
The pair of Tenzin and Inuyasha tracked Kagome down at a building in the middle of the woods, the pull on Tenzin's heart made it clear she was there. Inuyasha, being stronger, literally broke through a weak spot in the wall and Tenzin flew in after. A massive man, maybe eight feet tall, was about to cut his sister in half only for Inuyasha to block the strike with his red robe. The sword shattered on contact, the man stumbling back.
As he looked at the man, a cold feeling overtook Tenzin. "He's... not human. I feel that same strange feeling like with the Centipede."
Inuyasha then punched the massive man in the face several times, until the beast fell to the ground with a massive thud. A bunch of men, cowards he assumed, hustled out of the room all at once via the hole Inuyasha created.
"Boss, we're going ahead./Thanks again!" They said to... Kagome, he was pretty sure.
Kagome beamed at them both. " You came to rescue me?"
Inuyasha and Tenzin said as one "Is it safe? The Sacred Jewel!/ Of course, you're my sister, duh!"
Kagome blushed. "Eh?"
Inuyasha was furious. "I'm asking you if the Sacred Jewel is safe!" Kagome laughed with unease, moving behind Tenzin just as the monster of a man got up.
A rush of nastiness overtook the room and Inuyasha and Tenzin both covered their faces. " What's that smell?! It's like rotting meat."
One of the buckles on the man's clothes comes off, revealing a hole in his chest. Three red glowing eyes peered out of the hole and caws.
Kagome gaped. "What is that?"
Inuyasha gritted out. " His heart must've been torn apart a couple of nights ago. Then it nested there."
A rush of greed slammed into Tenzin, almost oozing from the Crow. It was like a furnace, only with emotion, and it slammed into him hard. His head ached, and he knew that this power was like his others.
Inuyasha continued. " Corpse Crows aren't too strong. They use dead bodies to fight." He kicked off from the ground, aiming for the man's chest. "Disgusting!" As his hand pierced the hole, the bird flew out the back and into the day. The body then evaporated, the cold demonic energy evaporating from the air along with the stench of rotting meat.
Kagome frowned. "It got away! Aren't you going after it?"
Inuyasha flexed his arms. " I can't go after every stupid demon. There's only one of me, after all."
"But…!"
Tenzin put a hand on his sister. "We came to keep you safe, that's it. The beast was just trying to survive, no need to kill it for that."
"Now what about the Sacred Jewel?" Inuyasha said, before turning to the Window where they all saw the bird demon... with the jewel in its beak." The Ahh! Is that the Jewel in its beak?!" He turned to Kagome. "Why, you…!"
Kagome defensively responded. " I-I never said anything about having it on me."
Inuyasha grabbed Kagome and glared at Tenzin. "Follow me!"
INU crashed out of the hut with Kagome all but being dragged behind. He stopped for a moment, his eyes moving to a horse that had a bow and quiver on it. He grabbed both and put Kagome on his back, shooting off away from the hut with Tenzin at his side, keeping up.
'This is feeling less tiring, I hope I am not unconscious for a whole day again. I mean I slept off and on for like two days before... losing time like that really sucks.' Tenzin thought as they blasted off towards the bird.
Inuyasha called out. "No way it's gettin' away!" He lept into the air, riding the treetops easily.
Cursing, since he wasn't sure if he could do that, Tenzin stayed close to the ground and just followed the bird as fast as he could. As it turned out, he was faster than Inuysha by quite a bit, so in moments he was actually under the bird and approaching the town. He cursed once more when he saw the damned bird swallow the jewel, it's demonic aura spiking all of a sudden.
A moment later, the crow got larger, its demonic energy shifting as its greed expanded. Tenzin fell suddenly to his knees, holding his head as horrible images crossed his mind.
People dying on a battlefield, blood and the stench of rotting meat filling the air. Screams of victims and a sense of fullness filling his belly. Relief and cruel satisfaction at the misery of the world filling his heart.
Then, as suddenly as it started, the images faded and he looked up as new energy filled the world. It was in the distance, but pink energy exploded into existence in the sky. His heart sank at the sight, somehow this was familiar to him. Then, from the center of this energy, tiny streams blasted off in a hundred directions all at once. With it came a wave of grief, hate, sadness, loss, and countless other things so strong that his mind dissolved under the strain and he fell into darkness once more.

"You mean they shattered it?" Tenzin asked, having once again woken up in Kaede's hut alongside his sister and Inuyasha. In Kagome's hand was a pink sliver oozing demonic power. "How?"
Kaede nodded. "They were chasing the Corpse Crow before you passed out. The arrow to which Kagome attached the crow's foot hit the Corpse Crow and destroyed that Crow, but it also shattered the Sacred Jewel. In other words, fragments of the Sacred Jewel have been scattered throughout the world. Who knows whether there were one hundred fragments or a thousand. Should even one fragment fall into evil hands, however, the destruction will be incalculable."
Kagome whimpered. "It wasn't my fault… was it?"
"No, Sis, you had not a single clue about what would happen. If you did you wouldn't have done that." He hugged his sister's side, smiling at her through his terrible migraine.
"Kagome, Inuyasha, Tenzin... You must use your combined strength to gather the fragments and restore the Sacred Jewel!" Kaede declared her tone final.
"Heh?" Kagome said.
Inuyasha growled out. " Listen up, old hag! I'm one of the "evil-doers" looking for the Jewel!"
Kaede sighed. " It cannot be helped…"
"I can't leave this time anyway, so why not do some good." Everyone turned to Tenzin, but it was Kagome's pained look that really got to him. "My powers, Kaede said they could burn out my humanity. That makes me a risk to our family, I need to gain control, Sis. Find some means to control this power of mine, less I become a monster."
"But... you have to come home!" Kagome muttered, her heartbreaking.
Kaede sighed. "Kagome, in your time from what you told me, he has no means to helping himself. Here he does... it would be safer."
"She's right, Sis... I need to be safe and smart. Besides, you know how much I love history and myths, this is a paradise for me!" He relished for a moment in that fact, using it to brace himself. "Kaede, do you have any idea what could help me?"
The Old woman sighed. " Not a clue, my child... but if you search for the shards, you may find something along your path. Now, since we are speaking of you, do you have any idea why you passed out?"
"I felt... well, the Birds's emotions and thoughts. I felt it's greed before, but when it swallowed the jewel I saw things, horrible things. Death, battlefield, eating the dead until I was bursting. All of that swirling inside of me, slamming into my mind. Then when the jewel shattered, I felt a rush of emotions so strong, it was like my mind couldn't handle it."
Kaede frowned. "It seems to me that you possess mental powers alongside your physical ones. Whatever kind of demon you are or were in your past life, they were more a mental type of being them a physical one... however that puts you in greater danger. Your powers are meant for a demon, not a human, our minds are not as flexible as a demon... meditation may help you counter this, It helps those with spiritual powers. I will begin your instruction immediately, so you are not endangered any more than you have to be."

The next day, at the local river
"SIT!" The sound of his sister's scream shattered Tenzin's meditation, making him flinch and turn to his naked sister in the water out of concern. However, from the look on her face, she was more upset than afraid. A thud alerted him to Inuyasha, whose pain radiated outward making Tenzin flinch."Don't do that unless you have to, don't abuse that. I can feel his pain, it hurts a lot when you do that, Sis.."
She frowned. " He was peeking."
Turning with rage to Inuyasha, Tenzin went to scold and possibly beat the boy... only to feel something from Inuyasha. Standing, he walked over to the boy and put a hand on his cheek. Knowledge flowed into his mind from his hand, like warm energy. "No... he wasn't, he was standing guard over the jewel. It was timing that was an issue..."
"How do you know?"
"I can read his mind from touching him... it's strange, it's like when a gift surfaces, it grows and I somehow know how to use it."
Inuyasha looked grateful. "It's how demonic powers work. No one taught me mine but I knew how they worked as soon as they surfaced. I just had to practice to get good with them."
"Nice to know... Are you done, Sis? The water was freezing when I took a dip, I don't want you to get a cold."
"Yeah,... and I guess I'm sorry Inuyasha."
"Whatever." The Halfbreed muttered.
A rush of emotion, that of a human he guessed from the lack of cold, approached, and within a moment a woman appeared with a baby on her back. "Priestess Kaede…
Kaede, who was sitting by a small fire by the river, turned to her. " Yes?"
"My daughter…"
Kaede approached the woman and they spoke for a bit. Eventually, Kaede turned to them. "I must return. Do not fight, Tenzin keep them from acting up."
The woman bowed to them and walked back to the village with Kaede.
After an uncomfortable silence, Inuyasha turned to Kagome. " Hey."
Kagome snapped out. " What."
"Get undressed" In a flash, Kagome grabbed a large rock and was about to slam it onto Inuyasha's head when Tenzin stopped her with a single hand.
"Why are you stopping me, he's a perv!"
"His emotions aren't like that, he's uncomfortable and..." Tenzin shivered as a rush of emotion overtook him. "Sad, very sad. Whatever your clothes are, they remind him of something making him want to cry."
Inuyasha huffed. " I am not sad."
Kagome looked offended. " Because this makes me look like Kikyo?"
Inuyasha was stumped by Kagome's question and looked away indignantly. "Whatever."
Kagome growled. "Look! I can't work with someone who's always picking a fight!"
"That's fine with me! I prefer to go it alone."
Kagome frowned. " I see! You don't need me along then?" Then started off.
"Sis, where are you going?"
She frowned. "I am going home! I can't stand being around him."
Dog boy stood. " Going home…? Hey!"
"My name is Kagome. Please address me as such."
"Hey! Wait!"
"Sis, at least give me the jewel shard." He held out his hand. "I'm staying that has no business in our era. "
She handed it to him, happily. "You can handle the dog boy, so I am not worried about him getting a hold of it." She turned and glared at a stunned Inuyasha. "You're a jerk." She huffed once more and stomped off, like the child she occasionally was.
Sighing, Tenzin sat down. "To be honest, I am shocked she lasted that long. She is kind of stubborn, my sister. Guess it's just us, Dog boy. Don't worry, we'll get the jewel."
The bratty dog demon just huffed and turned away. "She's the jerk."
"Children, both of you..."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a lot of fun.
