So now that the cats out the bag buckle up! Hope you enjoy this chapter! Thanks for all the reviews! Ya'lll are my motivation!

Tris feels like she can't breathe as she quickly grabs her back and walks up the steps to Christina and Uriah's house. Uriah's SUV isn't in the drive so she knows he went ahead to the park with the kids. Tris has a key to their place so she uses it to open the door and she sees Christina get up from the couch to greet her. Tris had been holding in her tears the entire car ride not wanting to seem like a crazy person to the driver. She was glad Rose had her car because there was no way she could have driven in the state she was in.

"Tris, what's wrong?" Christina asks seeing the distress on her best friend as Tris drops all her bags in the doorway of Christina and Uriah's house.

Tris goes to the couch and finally lets herself breakdown. Christina doesn't know what to do so she just lets her cry with her head in her lap.

"Tris, you are scaring me, what is going on? I need you to talk to me. Did Tobias break up with your or something?"

Tris sits up wiping her face with the sleeve of her sweater. She reaches in her back pocket and hands Christina her pink envelope.

"Tris this again, I thought you mailed this two years ago. Why are you still holding on to this?"

"I did mail it, Chris, I found it Tobias's closet, in a box of things from his wife along with a newspaper article about her dying in a car crash"

Tris feels her lip quiver and the tears start all over again as she watches Christina put the pieces together in her mind and then gasps as she looks at the letter in her hands.

"Oh shit, Tris, This can't be for real, maybe it was a mistake and they sent it to the wrong family"

"The article said she died on April 12, 2018" Tris gets out between sobs.

"Oh my God, We...Ummm, well... you have to tell him"

"No, Chris, No I can't tell him, he'll hate me!"

"It's okay, we'll find a way to tell him, you just have to say it, put it out there just you know say hey….I...Tobias.. you see I..." Christina stumbles over the words.

"You can't even say it! " Tris sobs loudly flopping on her back on the couch.

"Don't worry, I'll help you, we all will…" Christina stammers trying to figure out a way to comfort Tris. She is still sobbing hysterically when Uriah and the kids come through the door. Jalen and Justin are whooping that Tris is there, asking where Tobias was bouncing all over the place. Uriah sets Jada down and she toddles over to her mother.

"Geez, did somebody die?" Uriah asks seeing Tris was crying.

She looks up at him and whines out "Tobias's wife" and she starts sobbing harder.

"He married! That lying bastard" Uriah yells out placing his hands on his hips.

"That Lying Bastard!" Justin parrots after his father.

"Justin, don't say that" Uriah scolds but the anger still apparent on his face.

"You said it, Why can't I?" Justin argues and stomps off into the kitchen.

"Tris, I will kick the shit out of him, I promise you I will" Uriah threatens

"Oh God," Christina groans she looks at Tris who is still sobbing into her hands with Jada pulling on her leg, and Justin and Jalen arguing after Jalen tells him that's he's in trouble for saying bad words. This was complete chaos and Uriah was only making things worse.

"Uriah, calm down please" Christina goes up to him to try to get him to listen.

"I'm going to fuck him up, Tris, Where's my phone I need to call Zeke, I might need to use my get of jail free card"

"Uriah, I swear to God Calm down!" Christina raises her voice and tells Uriah to back up as she puts her hands on his chest.

"Stop pushing me Chris, You can't stop me from handling the dude after he takes advantage of my cousin"

"URIAH! TRIS HAS TOBIAS' DEAD WIFE'S HEART"! Christina screams as she puts her hands on Uriah's chest to push him back again.

Christina pulls her lips together and puts her hand over her mouth with her eyes wide. Uriah looks at Christina and then at Tris who nods her head as she sniffles.

"Sooooooo he's not married ?" Uriah asks and Christina shakes her head in response.

"Okayyy then, Ummm, Well that's great." Uriah blows out a breath not sure what to do with what his wife just screamed at him.

"Hey boys, let's go get some ice cream" Uriah calls out deciding that Tris and Christina needed to be alone.

"Ice Cream!" Jalen and Justin scream in delight in unison as Uriah tells them to put their coats back on as he goes to pick up Jada as Christina mouths Thank You to him. Tris flops back on the couch and covers her face with a throw pillow.

It takes Tris another hour to get herself together, Christina drops her off at the restaurant where she runs straight upstairs to her room. Rose and Caleb were helping out that day so she was free from having to interact with anyone.

She takes a long hot shower. Her eyes are burning and her head hurts from all the crying she had done that afternoon. When she gets of the shower she pulls off her shower cap and wipes the fog off of the bathroom mirror. She looks in the mirror, her eyes were red and puffy. The sight of the scar down her chest makes her stomach turn.

She throws her hair up in a curly bun and throws on a T-shirt and crawls into bed. Her phone pings with a text message.

Tobias: Baby, Are you okay? Call me, Please. I love you.

She looks at it and puts her phone on Do Not Disturb and pulls the covers up. She felt like she was emotionally drained, it didn't take long for sleep to overtake her.

Tris rolls over when she hears a soft knock on her door. She feels like she had a hangover even though she hadn't had a drop to drink the night before.

"I didn't think you would be home last night, Bumblebee, everything okay?"

Tris sighs, she needed to tell her father everything she just wasn't up to it yet.

"Yeah, I'm just not feeling well, wanted sleep in my own bed"

"Uh-huh," Andrew eyes her nodding his head "How about I bring you up some gumbo?"

"That would be great Daddy, Thank you"

Tris didn't feel as though she could eat anything but she hoped if she said she would sick everyone would leave her alone. She picks up her phone and sees she has two missed calls from Tobias and a few messages from him and Christina. Everyone would be coming over for brunch soon and she started to panic thinking Tobias would show up if she didn't say anything.

Her hands shake as she sends him a message and all she could do was try to be honest. She needed to get her thoughts together.

Tris: Sorry, I'm not feeling well, I'm going to stay in bed today. Can I call you later?

Tobias: Sure Babe, get some rest, I love you. I missed you last night.

Tris feels an ache in her chest. How was she going to do this? She didn't want to see the look on his face when she told him, she couldn't bear it.

Tris: I love you, more than you could even imagine.

She sets her phone down and feels the tears start to form in her eyes again. She wipes them away quickly when she hears another soft knock on the door.

"Your father told me you aren't feeling well" Hana stands at her door with a bowl of gumbo and a bottle of water.

"Thank you," Tris says quietly as she takes the bowl and sits on the nightstand. Hana pulls a folded piece of paper from under her arm as Tris takes a swig of the bottle of water Hana hands her.

"Justin and Jalen made this for you. Justin said you were upset yesterday. They wanted to come up here to see if you were okay but Christina and Uriah told them to let you rest. Do you want to tell me what's going on?"

Hana feels her heartbreak when she sees Tris fall apart in front of her. She gets up and takes off her shoes to crawls into the bed beside Tris. Tris lays her head in her aunt's lap like she did when she was a child and cries. Hana rubs her back in comfort.

"Tris sweetheart I need you to tell me what's wrong," Hana says softly. "Did Tobias do something to hurt you?"

Tris sits up and grimaces, she realizes that she had to start using her words. She didn't want anyone to think that Tobias had done something wrong.

"I found out that I have Lauren Eaton's heart," Tris says quietly.

Hana sucks in a breath and grabs her shirt as she furrows her eyebrows "Good Lord, Are you sure?"

"Yeah I'm sure"

"And you haven't told him have you"

Tris wipes her eyes and shakes her head in response as Hana lets out a sigh.

"I know have to tell him, It's just… What was God thinking?" Tris sniffles out before flopping onto her side covering her head with her pillow.

"I think there's a reason for everything Baby Girl, this isn't going to be easy to handle but you can't keep this from him"

A muffled "I know" comes from Tris from underneath her pillow.

Hana and Christina keep everyone clear of Tris for the rest of the day so she could have some time to herself. She spends most of the day wrapped in her blanket on her bed with her Airpods in listening to Jasmine Sullivan.

It's late in the evening when she gathers herself and asks Tobias to come over. There's a chill in the air so she throws on a fleece pullover and puts her curly hair in a bun. She turns on the lights to the courtyard. Ever since she and Tobias had been together she hadn't spent very much time out here which was strange, she had felt sometimes that this was her favorite place no matter where she went. Now she felt that her favorite place was with Tobias, wherever he was. She spent all afternoon thinking about what would be the best option after she told him. She feels like she should go away, feeling he would never want to see her again, the constant reminder of his late wife but is that what he wanted? Did he wasn't to be away from her? She takes a deep breath and puts her hands in the pockets of her jacket, bouncing on the balls of her feet, feeling the letter as she sees him walk up the sidewalk and enter the gate to the courtyard. He was so handsome, the way he moved, it made her heart flutter just to see him and she wanted nothing more for him to pull her into him and kiss her senseless.

"Baby, you okay? I've been worried about you" Tobias says softly as he places a hand on her cheek when he finally stands in front of her. Tris throws her arms around his neck. He instinctively wraps his arms around her, holding her close to him.

"I love you, Tobias, no matter what, I'll always love you, I hope you know that," she says quietly while pulling herself away from him and wiping a tear from her eye.

"Tris, what's going on, you're making me nervous," Tobias says with his eyebrows furrowed.

"You know all about the heart transplant," Tris says with her voice shaky as she struggles to find the words, her stomach twisting into a knot when she reaches into her jacket pocket and pulls out the folded pink envelope of the letter she wrote and places it in his hands as hot tears fall down her cheek.

"I found this at your house, yesterday. I knocked over the box in the closet. I saw the newspaper article. April 12, 2018….That's the day" She pauses taking another breath. "That's the day I had my heart transplant, this is my letter, Tobias."

Tobias stares at her blankly not processing what she is saying at first.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know, I swear to God that I didn't know" she sobs looking for any type of reaction from him but all she saw sees is a blank expression.

Tobias stands there, his mind reeling with the fact that his girlfriend sitting in front of him is alive because his wife was dead. That Lauren's heart is beating inside of her.

"I was thinking about going away, so you don't have to be reminded, The last thing I want to do is hurt you or cause you any more heartache," she says quietly looking for some kind of emotion from him but getting nothing.

"I, umm, I have to go. I'm sorry Tris" Tobias says with a soft voice in a daze as he walks out of the gate to his truck.

Tris nods, wanting to give him space. The mess she had been in the past day was almost to much for her so she couldn't imagine what was going on inside his head. Tris crumples to the chair she is standing next to with her head in her hands. She felt like she was dying, the first man that she had given everything to couldn't even stand to be around her.

Andrew looks out the window to see Tris crying and Tobias walking out of the courtyard. Hana told him, Max, and Harrison what was going on a few hours earlier. He couldn't believe it was astonished so he had no idea how his daughter and Tobias would feel or how they would deal with it. All he did know was that he knew true love when he saw it and Tris and Tobias were supposed to end up together. He doesn't bother her, leaves her alone with her thoughts but he prayed that they could make it out of this.

Tobias doesn't know how he makes it to his house. Pharaoh can sense his distress and licks the palm of his hand as Tobias sits on the couch. He doesn't know how long he sits there before Pharaoh whimpers drawing Tobias out of this thoughts. He lets him out into the small patio area instead of taking him for a walk. He goes to the corner of the living room where he keeps Lauren's picture.

He had no reason to not believe Tris when she said she didn't know but he couldn't sort out the emotions he was feeling. He looked at his wife, he had felt like he had finally made peace with her death, hell he had purchased an engagement ring for Tris. Was being drawn to her because of this? Is that even possible? Does that mean their whole relationship was based on a connection he had with Lauren? Could he look at Tris and not think of Lauren now? His head was beginning to hurt trying to make sense of it. He hears Pharaoh scratching on the back door and shakes his head.

That night he tosses and turns. It wasn't just that he was conflicted about how he felt but he couldn't sleep without Tris now since they rarely spent a night apart. He rolls over and sees the red numbers on his alarm clock show 2:30 am. He reaches over and looks at his phone and then puts it back down. He couldn't talk to her yet, not until he understood how he felt.

Everyone at Divergent is shocked when grumpy anti-social Tobias shows up for work on Monday. Everyone had gotten used to how he had returned to his old self when he started dating Tris so it didn't take much for everyone to figure out that there was something going on between the two of them to slip back into bad habits. He knows he's going to eventually have to talk to someone but he can't do it yet. Every time he went to text Tris or call her he started to feel guilty. Why? He didn't know, was it wrong to think of Lauren when he looked at her now? Could he get to a point where he could look at her and not feel that way? He puts his elbows on his desk and his head in his hands. Why did this have to happen?

After two days of Tobias declining her calls along with Tris also being elusive, Marlene puts in a call to Christina and Shauna to figure out what was going on. Marlene leans against the kitchen counter at her parents' house stunned looking at her phone after hanging up with Shauna. No wonder Tobias had wanted to be alone. She wasn't going to let him spiral again though. She sends him a quick text message.

Marlene: I talked to Shauna and Christina. You can't ignore me forever.

Tobias: I'm not trying to ignore you, I just... I'm just not sure what to say or what to feel. How fucked up is this that my girlfriend has my dead wife's heart?

Marlene: I get it, I can't imagine how you feel. But you know I'm here if you want to talk. Have you talked to Tris?

Tobias: No, I'm not sure what to say

Marlene: That's fucked up T. You still love her. You got a ring and everything...

Tobias: I know, I just need to think...

Marlene sets her phone down on the counter when Marcus calls her into his office. Evelyn walks over to Marlene's phone. She sees Marlene's phone ping with another message and she quickly picks it up, hoping it was still unlocked since she had just set it down. Lucky for her it was. She had heard the tail end of Marlene's conversation with her promising not to tell anyone and to give Tris and Tobias some time to work things out between them. If Tobias was on the outs with Tris, she needed to strike while the iron was hot but she needed more information. She just needed him to see that Tris wasn't the one for him and the best time to do it was while they were not together. It hadn't been easy with her daughter but she knew having her with a successful lawyer was better than the flighty interior designer dated for over a year. Will and Marlene had gone exactly according to her plan and no one knew that she had planted the seeds of doubt in Lynn's mind about Marlene spending time with Will. She had been strategic recently and she just had to keep at it. She had worked too hard on their family image and legacy to let it go by the wayside now.

Evelyn gasps and quickly puts her hand over her mouth as she reads the last messages exchanged between her son and daughter. How in the hell could that girl have ended up with Tobias and just happen to have Lauren's heart. There was no way that could be a coincidence. If was ready to propose, things were more serious than she thought. If they weren't speaking though, now would be a good time to help them stay apart. She'd hoped he would have dated around after Lauren's death and not settle down with the first woman he dated who happened to be a waitress that was going nowhere. She puts the phone back where she found it and smiles to herself knowing exactly what she was going to do.

The next few days are hell. Tris feels like she's a zombie. She had explicitly told her family that she didn't want to talk about Tobias and they reluctantly agreed. After three days of not hearing from him, she didn't think her heart could take looking at all of the things that reminded him again. She was starting to think that he wasn't going to come around but she wanted to give him space and not push him to talk to her. She just wished he would say something, anything. She sighs and heads downstairs to get ready for the day at The Pit. It was Friday so the restaurant would be pretty busy all day and night which was great for her because she didn't have to think about Tobias. She's shocked when she hears a knock on the door and sees Evelyn standing on the other side.

"Tris, It's good to see you, I was wondering if you had time to talk," Evelyn says. She has two lattes in her hand. Tris takes a look at her Chanel handbag, Prada sunglasses, black Louboutin pumps. She was wearing a burnt orange sweater that was vibrant against her mocha skin tone. There was no camera crew so hopefully, she wasn't trying to start drama. Tris sighs, she figured he would tell his family, they had all loved Lauren and thought she was the perfect daughter-in-law and sister-in-law. They would have been just as shocked and worried about Tobias so she isn't necessarily shocked that Evelyn wants to talk to her.

"Sure" she grabs her jacket from by the door and shows Evelyn to the courtyard on the side of the house and takes the latte she offers her as they sit at one of the tables.

"I just have to say I'm so shocked about the news of you and your heart transplant. Its quite amazing when you think about it, of all the people who could have received Lauren's heart, it ends up being you"

"Yeah, I think everyone is in shock," Tris says quietly looking at the ground.

"I know that you and Tobias have gotten very close but I really am concerned for him falling back into the depression he was in after Lauren's death. I'm glad you were there when he came out of it but we were really worried about him"

Tris feels a lump in her throat and the tears start to form in her eyes. She sets the cup in her hands down. Marlene had confided in her how lost Tobias had been and she never wanted to see him like that.

"I don't want to hurt him, I love him, I just don't know what to do"

"I think you two need some space, he needs time to sort out his feelings. He said he wanted to spend some time alone without the pressure of making any decisions about the future. This along with you two being from two different worlds is a lot for him to process and handle."

Tris nods and bites her lip trying to fight the tears. Of course, he wasn't sure what the future looked like for them.

"I was thinking about going away for a while, so he didn't have to be constantly reminded, I have some family I can visit out of the country" Tris confesses.

"Maybe that would be good for the both of you, taking some time and space away from each other. I'll see him tonight and I can tell him at dinner," Evelyn says placing a hand on Tris's arm.

Evelyn's phone pings with a message and she quickly pulls it out. Tris was playing right into her plan, her work here was done.

"I'm sorry Dear, this is the gallery and I have to take this. Please think about what I said and let me know if I can help"

"Yeah, sure" Tris replies quickly wiping a few tears from her eyes.

Evelyn gets up and walks to her Lexus parked down the street. Mission Accomplished she thinks with a smirk as she looks over her shoulder and sees Tris still sitting down wiping a tear from her eye.

Tris quickly wipes the tears from her eyes. If Tobias wasn't sure they had a future together she couldn't bear waiting around like a lost puppy for him to decide that he didn't want her anymore. She pulls out her phone and checks her bank account, she had been saving but she only has about two thousand dollars. With being so sick she hadn't really ever needed credit cards and started out with a card that had a smaller limit to work on building her credit score. She does a quick google search for airline tickets and then dials Zeke.

"Tris, you okay?"

"Zeke, I need a favor. I promise I will pay you back but I need to use your credit card"

"Okay, you know I always got you, what do you need to buy?"

"A plane ticket to Grenada."

Soooooo How ya'll feeling? Let me know?
