The front door rattled loudly at the force imposed against it. Hani's fist tightened against the doorknob as she grounded her teeth. Like boiling water, her anger was seething and bubbling. Thoughts and theories bounced around her head as she asked herself how much information her father had kept from her throughout the years. At the table, Auntie, Eunjo, and her father stared at her as if she had grown a second head. Her lips were set in a deep frown and her mood further dampened. Her father was mid-sip as he stared at her. She thought it was interesting how he could be so relaxed when he has lied to her.

"Who is Woo Taein?" she asked in a leveled voice. She exhaled a deep breath to reign in her anger, but it was surmounting before she could contain it. She could feel her head start to pulse again but she ignored it. This was too important for her to faint in the midst of. Gidong's grip on the teacup tightened. Auntie had a worried look on her face when she took in Hani's state of emotions. She could see her body shaking from the anger she was emitting. Eunjo emulated his mother and was baffled. He'd never seen Hani act in such a way. She was hardly easy to truly anger, however, the expression on her face depicted otherwise. She almost reminded him of his brother on his worst day. It chilled him to the core.

"Hani, let's go into another room to talk-" Gidong sighed. His body began to tense at the thought of the name. A long and heavy sigh sounded from her, alerting Auntie immediately. After a few moments of silence, she spoke again.

"That's unfortunate for you, I don't want to."

"Oh Hani!" he shouted, slamming the teacup on the marble table. Eunjo and Geunhee nearly flew out of their seats when the bang of the cup vibrated throughout the table. She looked at her old friend in shock. During the week of his late wife's death, the situation between Gidong and Hani worsened. Once she got home, he refused to acknowledge her existence. She had never seen them act this way before and it almost caused her heart to seize at the sight. She knew it was time for them to leave the premises before they exploded into another argument, so she quickly got up and drug Eunjo by the arm with her upstairs. Hani paid them no mind as she crossed from the foyer and into the dining area. She stared him down with spite when she turned the chair beside him in his direction and sat. With her lips tensely pursed and arms crossed, she waited for his response.

"So, are you going to tell me who he is?"

"He's no one, so you can stop persisting," he said, turning his gaze back to the table.

"You forced my hand when you persisted. How does Woo Taein know me?" she retorted humorlessly.

"He is none of your concern."

"That's funny, he became one when he told me I was the heiress of Madam Jeong's company." she was tired of him running around the question. He wouldn't look her straight in the eyes and had his gaze on his tea until she made her statement.

"How-" his head instantly swiveled towards hers in shock. She scoffed and leaned back into her nonchalantly. His eyes bulged for an explanation. She briefly thought she should've been in the position to do that.

"You want to know what else is funny? He said something else that was very interesting. He told me that I was an amnesiac too. Am I leaving out anything?" she asked with false politeness. Her scorn started to spill into her words. His evasion of her questions made her anxiousness bubble in her stomach.

"Watch your mouth, I am still your father," he said sharply, his full attention directed towards her. She almost let out another sardonic scoff, but she held it in.

"Why should I? It looks like you've been lying to me."

"Hani, I tried to tell you on the day of her death."

"And I wonder how that turned out?"

"Hani!"

"I'm sorry, but I don't know how else to react! In the span of a week, everything turned upside down on my head because of you!" she shouted at him. Her emotions were spilling below the surface when she thought back to the events that took place. Her head pounded at the thoughts bouncing inside her mind, "All this happened because of her! This is as much your fault as it is hers!" she placed a hand on her forehead when she started to feel lightheaded. The pain she was feeling physically and mentally refused to leave as she tried to assuage it. Gidong froze when he saw her sway slightly in her chair. He shot up and made a move to settle her before slapped his hand away. A short laugh flew from her mouth as her vision began to double.

"I remember...when you used to tell that I...shouldn't get extremely angry. I... can see why-" she felt the air rushing towards her as her legs and midsection gave out and harshly fell to the ground with a huge thud. She could hear her father's voice frantically calling out to her while shaking her shoulders.

Young Hani peaked into the creak of her mother's office. She could her mother sitting behind her desk with a frustrated expression. Even with the scowl painted on her face, she still looked very youthful and beautiful. Her slick black hair was perfectly styled in a low bun and her emerald earrings shined brightly when the sunlight hit them. Hani's younger self shrunk when she was looking at her scowl but felt relief when she realized that it wasn't directed at her. Her mother continued to scowl at the man sitting in front of her. She could only see his back, it was full of tension and was straight.

"Madam, it's an honor to be in your presence again," he said in an undeterred tone. She almost thought she heard a hint of sarcasm in his deep voice. The corner of Inhye's mouth dipped into a frown.

"I wish I could say the same about you." her mother leaned back into her chair and stared him down. Hani could tell that her mother was perturbed. In her eyes, this man put her mother in a state of unease. She rarely witnessed this change in her mother and it comforted her.

"It comforting to know that you haven't changed."

"We have not seen each other in over ten years, how would you know? Oh, maybe it is you who hasn't changed."

"I thought that we were in agreeance that this is a time of forgiveness and not grudges?" her mother's next words fell down upon her ears. She could see her mouth moving, but she couldn't make out what she was saying. It was silent. Then, her mother's eyes caught hers, and immediately she felt all her fear run to her stomach. Her mother abruptly stood up and appeared to be yelling at her. She could see her mouth open widely and contort in anger. The man turned around to see her but his face was blurred and fuzzy. She felt her heart jump out of her chest at that moment.

The sounds of a machine beeping looped between her ears. Her body felt heavy and glued to what was holding her. With much strength, she opened her eyes, pushing the crust that grew around her eyelids away. She groaned and tousled when the bright lights blinded her. She slowly rolled on her side in an attempt to avoid the lights beaming down on her, but was held back when she saw the IV attached to her veins. She put a hand on her forehead and noticed that the pain and throbbing had stopped. She started to feel like herself again but also began questioning her own behavior. The past days struck her as odd. she felt like another person. Almost like her old self. She shivered at the thought of it and the hyper-realistic dream she had. Then, she was broken out of her thoughts when she heard footsteps near her bed.

"By chance, is fainting a habit of yours?" she snapped her neck to the other side and almost did a double-take. There stood the man who caused this, as put together as the man usually was. As if the memory was rewinding itself back in her head, her heart jumped once again.

"Mr. Woo?" she found her whispering. It was only respectful in her mind to address him as such. She had not called out to him properly in the two past occurrences and sought to rectify it. Taein let out a small puff of air that left her wondering what it could've meant. He stuffed his hands in his black dress pants. She couldn't help but avert her gaze away from him. That was when she noticed the room around her, and by the luxurious look of it and spacious it was, she realized she was in a VIP suite of whatever hospital she was in.

"Huh, I haven't heard you call me that in years," he said almost quietly. Hani's head turned back to his direction.

"Years? What do you mean years? You knew me?" she asked incredulously. One after the other, she thought this man couldn't get any more confusing. But she hoped whatever he said wasn't without substance.

"I thought we already established that at our first meeting. Perhaps, your memory is further decaying." Great, another person spotted my stupidity, she thought. She also thought about how nothing has been in her favor for years anyway.

"I'm sorry, but please explain to me what's going on? Why am I here, in a VIP room no less?"

"I would have done so a long time ago, but I've been barred from releasing any more information." He pursed his lips after he answered her. He seemed displeased with her question, just as much as he was when she left him in the practice room. She became displeased with all the verbal roadblocks that kept whacking her over the head.

"By who?"

"Your grandfather."

"Grandfather? He died when I was in middle school." she was beginning to feel her frustration knawing at her. She already thought he was weird, but she thought she might as well declare him insane. Her grandfather died when she was a second-year middle school student. She could remember how distraught her father was after his death. She never met her grandmother because she died before she was born. Taein sighed impatiently as he took one hand out of his pockets and gripped the bottom end of the bedpost. She could the irritation radiating from him.

"I'm not referring to your paternal grandfather, I'm referring to your maternal grandfather."

"Maternal? Dad told me that he was dead. Something's not right here." as far as she knew, her mother's father died after her mother died. Her father explicitly told her when and how he died. She started biting the inside of her cheek.

"Obviously, still as spineless as ever after all these years." Taein muttered under his breath, "The point is he's not dead."

"Not dead..." she felt her fingers curling into a fist the fact. Her maternal grandfather was still alive after all this time. She didn't know if she should be ecstatic or vomiting at the side of her bed. Two things came to mind. One, that her father has been lying to her again. Two, there was another link to her mother that she could not shake off. Both facts didn't sit well in her gut. Before she could put any more thoughts in her head, Taein's voice cut through. She looked up to see him standing up straight at full height and sharply glaring at her.

"Get ahold of yourself, now is not the time for you to daze off," he told her brusquely. She found herself sitting up straighter and shaking.

"What do you mean?"

"The chairman is on his way to visit you now."

"What?!" she yelled at him before she could restrain herself. He gave her an unsatisfactory look as she felt her panic growing faster than what she anticipated.

A/N: Hey, guys. Sorry that this chapter took longer than expected! A couple of weeks or possibly a little more ago, I completed my finals and thankfully with flying colors. Because of that, I wasn't able to update any of my stories. Now that I have caught up on some sleep, I'm ready to write some more. I'm sorry if it's a little too short this time! Thanks for reading!
