Author's Note: I really like how this chapter came out, I'm not that great at writing but I do have multiple ideas for upcoming chapters! If you have an idea you can send it my way! I took loose inspiration from Part 5 and was thinking of the White Album and Pearl Jam fights. I pretty recently started reading Jojolion and I want to take inspiration from those stand fights. Anyways, hope you enjoy this chapter!

Shizuka woke up bandaged and sitting on the cheap table in Jody and Vincent's dorm room. While unconscious, she realized something, using information and context clues she had learned and information she had recently received. Context clues helped her determine what others might have already realized,

"I think that there might be a Stand Arrow at this school."

She had deposited this information to Jody, who was shocked and confused. He had pondered about where stands came from before but never thought an object could grant stands, let alone an arrow. Shizuka took this and told him of the other ways people could gain stands, again recounting his father's stand, Enrico Pucci. Jody had joked with this new information, calling out her stand and its name. Jody then stated that Isabella could now be a stand user, the trio started brainstorming ways to discretely test their theory. Vincent offered up using Sweet Dreams, if she noticed it she was a stand user, if not then she didn't need to be recruited.

"Isabella seems nice, even if she is a stand user I want to leave her out of this. Her stand couldn't possibly be that dangerous, right?", Shizuka thought to herself.

"Great I'll do that first thing tomorrow", she said.

Jody protested, pointing out that the next day would be a Saturday and the state of being Shizuka was in, "You're not my dad Jody", Shizuka thought. Even after he admitted his position of authority in relevance to her she still knew what her plan was, "It's nice he's looking out for me, but I don't need his help in doing this, I've been waiting too long to be shut down!" Shizuka thought, confident in her abilities. So she lied, stating that she would get some rest, knowing he was right about medical attention. Jody offered to help her back to her hotel, but she declined. Once she left the dorm she walked towards The Maximillion Grande Hotel, slightly limping.

Shizuka stepped outside and breathed a breath of fresh air, compared to the dorm room it was gold.

"How am I going to see if Isabella is a stand user?", she wondered aloud, "I could wait until Monday to just go to school, someone could get to her by then. Oh! I could see if she's on social media and contact her through that."

Shizuka pulled out her smartphone and searched for Isabella Gonzalez. After a little bit of digging, she stumbled upon an account with Isabella's colorful persona as its profile picture. She sent her a private message,

"Hey, Isabella! It's Shizuka from school. I hope you're doing well I was wondering if you would want to hang out at your house sometime? We could hang out and do what we talked about!"

With a click the message was sent, traveling through the internet and arriving in Isabella's inbox. Shizuka continued walking, she phoned the Speedwagon Foundation, asking for them to ship medicine and medical supplies to her hotel. The operator on the other side of the phone asked why, Shizuka answering that she got injured near some broken glass, she only had a few cuts. When her conversation was done she hung up.

Shizuka decided to call an uber, similar to what she did her first time in Colorado, "To The Maximillion Grande Hotel please." Her voice polite and proper, though Joseph hadn't trained her in etiquette, Holly and the older Suzy tried to at least give her the skill. She looked through the smoky window of the car and stared. The sky was dimming and she looked out the window. She saw a beautiful mix and collage of colors. The sky was a swirling beauty of paint, reds and oranges merged, while blues and purples clashed in a wonderful war of beauty. It was highlighted in sweet sugary pink, like a nice glass of strawberry lemonade or maybe it was bubblegum?

"It never ceases to impress me what the Colorado sky will show you, I never see stars like this back in New York", Shizuka said still enamored by the beauty shown in the rainbow sky. She took out her phone to take a picture of the night sky. This picture would remind her of the safe comfort and beauty in the vastness of nothing. After a while, the uber eventually made it to The Maximillion Grande Hotel.

After leaving the uber and leaving a decent review for the ride she entered the hotel, absorbing its flourish roses and bountiful fruit scents. Despite her entering tired and wounded the hotel made her feel revitalized. Some of the older residents still in the lobby and those checking in eyed her, noticing the excessive bandage. Shizuka brushed them off, it was fine that she was injured, "At least I'm doing something with my life!" She thought to herself, looking at an older gentleman and picturing him in a mundane office with the only hints of color being the red ballpoint pen against his monotone everything. She walked towards the elevator. Shizuka pressed the up button on the elevator and waited for it to come to her. When the solid metal doors slid open she stepped into the elevator. It started moving upwards, its humming along with the calm music in the background was soothing. It suddenly dinged, the doors opened and she made her way towards her room. She opened her door and was enveloped by even more comforting feelings, she could have fallen asleep before touching her lavish bed. After changing out of her uniform she drowned herself in the royal purple bedsheets of her queen bed. She drifted out of consciousness, this time falling asleep instead of fainting.

Shizuka woke up hours later, her hair frizzy and her eyes baggy. The shine of the hotel had worn off and now she felt more than ever that she needed coffee. Achtung Baby sprung from her body, the vibrant colors coating its body burning Shizuka eyes. It quickly became invisible and it hovered towards a pot and coffee maker plugged into the wall. Shizuka could no longer see her stand but she could feel it, an outline of its entire body plunged somewhere deep inside her mind. After a while a cup floated towards Shizuka, its brown contents still steaming.

She took a single sip and swallowed it thoroughly, "Ah that's the stuff. Now, what am I going to do? I should at least get ready."

Shizuka looked through her suitcase, attempting to find something that matched. She put on a white tank top that had a red exclamation point with her purple jacket. She attached her pins and threw her legs into some dark blue sweatpants. She spent a while fixing up her riled bob cut. "I look like a soccer mom." She chuckled and after a while styling her hair she made it manageable. She applied some eyeliner and slightly darker lipstick than usual and headed out the door. She made her way through the hotel lobby and out the doors. It was decently late into the morning so there were crowds of people commuting to work and going about their buisness. Shizuka's phone vibrated and she grabbed it out of her pants. It was a message from Isabella,

"I'd love to hand out Shizuka! But I have to do things this weekend so I'm going to be busy maybe another time?"

Shizuka grunted, she would have to find wait till Monday to see who Isabella was. She had nothing going on in her day so she adventured to the nearest Starbucks. After pulling up her phone and navigating through the worn-out pavement and intriguing architecture of Colorado she found a Starbucks. Hipsters and younger people were lining the walls, the beans stung the air, and sugar stained the baristas and baristo's aprons. The blenders were whizzing in the background, spinning like miniature hurricanes of caffeine. Barely anyone looked up when she entered the store, all of them interested in their own business. She made her way towards the counter, Shizuka saw herself as a coffee fanatic. While she hadn't been put into public schools she had still been through homeschooling. Her caretakers training her rigorously. She had use caffeine secretly to pass, seeing it as a way to sneak around the system. Once she finally approached the counter she was greeted by a barista with two lip piercings.

"Hello! What can I get you on this fine day?" Her voice was deeper than expected, but still optimistic about her job.

"Oh, could I get a small cappuccino and a chocolate chip cookie?"

The barista nodded, punching in some numbers into a register. She turned back and looked into the kitchen. When she turned around she had an additional piercing, this time on her nose. Shizuka blinked, doubting what her eyes were showing her brain. She also noticed the slight differentiation in colors. The barista looked around and then ducked down below the counter, she pulled back up with a chocolate chip cookie, another piercing now on her eyebrow. She grabbed a bag from behind the register and spoke.

"Ok, that'll be five dollars and twelve cents, are you paying with cash or credit?"

Shizuka nodded absent-mindedly, when the barista spoke she had a newly found tongue piercing. Shizuka dropped some cash from her pink wallet on the counter, grabbed the bag, and walked towards a table nearby the door. It had a single seat and was located near one other table. When Shizuka sat at the table she saw a bearded man staring at her from another table. His eyes looked deranged and pieces of crumbs and beans stuffed into his beard. Shizuka watched cautiously, the man grabbed some beans out of his beard, somehow none of them were covered in hair. He quickly shoved them into his mouth, chewing them furiously. Once they became mush he spat them into his cup, which was filled with water. After a second the cup started steaming, and the man drank from the cup.

"What is going on with this Starbucks?" Shizuka mumbled, she had completely lost her appetite. She made her way back towards the register. The same barista looked at Shizuka again,

"Oh! Can I help you with anything miss?"

"I just wanted to grab my cookie and leave."

"Ok, I'll just grab that for you so you can head out!"

Shizuka grabbed the cookie from the barista and shoved it into her jacket. She had just wanted to get out of the cafe. She still felt someone staring daggers into the back of her head. She quickly walked away, staring at the broken pavement of the sidewalk. The noise of the city buzzed around her, people talking and engines rumbling. While it wasn't very calming it was a distraction from the bizarre occurrences in the coffee shop. She made it out of the large crowd into a less populated part of the city. Shizuka would've continued walking if she hadn't heard someone walking a few feet behind her. She peeked over her shoulder seeing a large shadowy figure pushing through the crowd and staring directly at Shizuka.

"Ok, that's weird."

Shizuka picked up her pace, walking slightly faster. She heard subtle thumping steps so she started jogging. Seeing an upcoming alleyway she came up with an idea. Once she approached the alleyway Shizuka dashed forwards and threw jumped towards the alleyway, with Achtung Baby boosting her jump and cradling her, coating her invisibility.

She whipped around, looking straight at the chest of a baristo from Starbucks.

"I need you to come with me, now."

He spoke slowly, in a deep voice. His face was clean-shaven with large backs under his eyes. His eyebrows were broken into multiple sections. His pupils were solid black and they looked down menacingly into Shizuka's. At his waist, multiple thermoses were strapped by a belt. He was wearing a dark green apron with his shit and pants being mundane beige. He wasn't wearing any shoes, with both of them being hard and coarse. He had large sunglasses above his eyes and black fading into lime hair. The baristo was easily six inches taller than Shizuka.

"Excuse me?" Shizuka said cautiously backing up.

"I need you to come with me, right now." The baristo was slowly growling his orders, reaching for Shizuka's arm. She dodged his grab, eyeing her assailant.

"Um, I'm going to have to say no to that."

She turned around and started to jog out of the alleyway, heading towards the other end. She heard the baristo humongous feet thumping after her. Shizuka picked up her pace. She turned around and saw the baristo directly behind her, swiping at her jacket. Before he could grab her Achtung Baby appeared and shoved the baristo into a nearby building. Shizuka motioned it to grab her and she disappeared, the cool coating of invisibility covering her. The baristo eyed where Shizuka was previously standing. He looked around, confused as to where his target had gone off to. Suddenly he stopped, sniffing the air furiously, his nose twitching wildly. He turned around and looked directly towards Shizuka, still sniffing at something.

"I can still smell the cappuccino and chocolate on her, she can't be far. Does she also have powers, would make sense for a thief?"

Shizuka was a few inches away from the baristo, his sense of smell has seemingly heightened, she didn't know if he would hear her slight movements. After he stopped sniffing the air he pulled a thermos out of a holster on his belt. The baristo unscrewed the cap and placed it on the ground. He walked away, still sniffing occasionally and eyeing the area for Shizuka. Once he was out of eyesight Shizuka dropped her invisibility, Achtung Baby still hovering around her. She was still on edge, why did the baristo leave a thermos on the ground? She reached down to grab it, when she tried to pick it up it was heavier than she expected.

Suddenly a small furry and metallic arm reached out of the top of the thermos and grabbed her arm. It was dripping with coffee, it wasn't coated in it, but it was made of it. Shizuka felt the slimy grip and recoiled, attempting to thrust her arm backward. But the arm did not relent, it was growing more solid the longer it was exposed to the air and seemingly drew on the coffee to grow larger. Achtung Baby reacted quickly, its hand forming a chop and forcing the air around it to move as it sliced through the arm with a quick blow. The dislocated coffee arm fell to the sidewalk and melted into a brown puddle, losing its life. Achtung Baby then punched the thermos, shattering it with a devastating attack.

Shizuka's heart was pounding even harder than it had been previously. The baristo was obviously a stand user, but how? Her theory of the stand arrow extended to solely the school and he looked much older than any student but too young to be a faculty member. She whipped around to see the baristo staring at her, his eyes locked directly onto Achtung Baby. Both of his fists were clenched and he started to sprint towards Shizuka, his form perfect.

Achtung Baby receded into Shizuka and she took off in the other direction, there was no time to think of how he got his stand. Now she had to run away from the menace. She ran for a while, somehow she felt invigorated. She had never run as fast as she did, maybe it was a mix of the coffee and adrenaline but she was outspeeding the baristo. She took a sharp turn running straight into a building before she collided with its brick wall Achtung Baby's leg shot out of her body and thrust her upwards. She used Achtung Baby to jab its hand into the building, also grabbing onto Shizuka's jacket stalling her in the air. The baristo stopped directly below her, again confused as to where his target had disappeared to. Achtung Baby turned Shizuka invisible once more.

"He seems simple-minded, he should've seen me go up and latch onto the building."

The baristo looked around, investigating the scene where Shizuka had disappeared. She felt like she was dying, her muscles were tight, seemingly from all of the running she had done. Achtung Baby was still firm in the building, but Shizuka was struggling to stay above the baristo. The muscular baristo strapped off two thermoses from his utility belt and threw them onto the ground. The metal clanged as the coffee inside swirled and shaped into his stand. This time nearly all of the coffee exited the thermos, creating a small humanoid. Where its head and upper shoulders would be were inside of the thermos. Its proportions leaned towards that of a monkey, with a curled tail and arms longer than normal. It was still dripping but it solidified as the hand had previously into its metallic form. Both of the coffee monkeys crawled up the wall Shizuka was stuck in, they used their hands to feel for Shizuka, who was running out of options.

Achtung Baby released its arm from the brick wall and descended down onto the thermos creatures. Revealing Shizuka it threw a punch at one, who narrowly dodged the yellow fist. The baristo's eyes widened as he saw the rainbow of colors that was Achtung Baby. Shizuka fell onto the ground and started to run towards the baristo, still somehow feeling invigorated. Both of the thermos monkeys launched themselves into the hands of the baristo as they returned to liquid form, this time morphing into two large hairy arms with sharp claws and yellow stripes around them. Achtung Baby and the coffee stand's fists collided sharp metallic sounds rung out through the alleyway, like a bell ringing in the wind. Shizuka noticed another thermos on the baristo's belt vibrate. Suddenly the cap burst off, launching towards Shizuka's face. For a second Achtung Baby stopped its punches to catch the cap, but that was all the baristo needed to launch two strong consecutive jabs into Shizuka's face. She recoiled backward, slamming into the back wall and nearly snapping her back.

"You cannot fight me! Brass Monkey is much stronger than your eyesore of a ghost! Give it back now you conniving thief!" He shouted, echoing throughout the alleyway and directing his words directly at Shizuka.

Shizuka still didn't understand the baristo's shoutings. But she couldn't contemplate it any longer, the baristo had left an opening in his defenses. Achtung Baby shot its arm towards the left arm of his stand, grabbing and pulling it away from its coffee source. Just like the previous instance, it melted once cut off. The baristo was shocked, his tunnel vision shattered and one of his arms disconnected. Before Shizuka could finish the next part of her attack, the baristo threw one of his thermoses down, spilling coffee on the ground, surrounding both of them. Suddenly all of it evaporated, turning into an enormous burst of steam. The propulsion rocketed both of them into the sky, launching them higher than the surrounding buildings.

"He caused the coffee to evaporate? His stand must be able to freely manipulate coffee, including making it evaporate!" Shizuka thought, she had just begun descending from her short flight.

The baristo's trajectory was more calculated, he had launched himself onto a nearby building, giving him the high ground. Shizuka was falling, but she still felt like she was running, her muscles were still tensing up and she was getting more and more winded as the battle progressed, more than she should have been for the work she was doing. She looked up, the baristo was running across the buildings, heading towards the street they had come from.

"He's running away? I can't let him out of my sights, I need to follow him!"

Shizuka began to sprint after him, trying harder than she had before. The effects of the coffee were somehow still applied. She was catching up to the baristo, his running form was impeccable but she was faster. When the baristo was near the edge of the last building he jumped into the street below. He landed with a loud thump into the nearly deserted street. All of the people that were there before had seemingly left. A lone car was still traveling along the road, making its way towards the baristo. Shizuka realized his plan, "He's going to make the car swerve and hit me!"

The baristo landed directly in front of the trajectory of the car. The driver inside screamed and swerved towards Shizuka in the alleyway. The arm that was still in the thermos scratched off some of the paint on the car, but not damaging its engines. It rocketed towards Shizuka, the driver inside looking horrified.

"I can't slow down! My breaks are broken!" The panicked driver screamed as he barreled towards Shizuka.

Achtung Baby sprung forth and caught the car. It pushed hard, eventually moving Shizuka against a back wall. Achtung Baby struggled to hold the car off, it wasn't slowing down in the slightest. Shizuka heard the engines sputtering but the car continued pushing. The driver had released the gas and exited the vehicle. The baristo watched silently as Shizuka struggled against the automobile.

"How is the car still moving even without the driver in the car? What's wrong with this car?!"

Then Shizuka realized that she was struggling to breathe. She was still exerting energy, her muscles were tensing. They had become so tight that she was struggling to move. Achtung Baby stood strong but was also fading because of Shizuka's state. Through wheezing and coughing Shizuka spoke aloud, "I get it, the car's brakes have been removed, just like me, it's exerting its energy even without stimulus. That must be the baristo's ability. It can remove the brakes from an object, making it exert all of its energy!"

The baristo looked shocked, his eyes wide. "My ability, it has been discovered! I need to defeat you and retrieve it, now or never!" The baristo took out a thermos, seemingly the last one he had on his person. Instead of throwing it at Shizuka, he took the cap off and poured the still hot and boiling coffee onto himself. But he didn't recoil, the coffee covered his entire body, not dripping onto the ground at all. The coffee turned its metallic bronze and formed into a suit surrounding the baristo. The suit consisted of yellow stripes covering the copper suit, fur surrounded his forearm and lower legs. His face was covered in a crude recreation of a woman's face. The hands of the suit had claws made of gold.

"I'm Jameson Jameson and I'll take you down with this. This is my ability, Brass Monkey!"

The baristo, now known as Jameson, was approaching Shizuka, making his way back into the alleyway. Shizuka was still pinned behind the car and was only able to watch him walk towards her. Suddenly he began running, much faster than before. He was right in front of Shizuka after a few seconds, readying a swipe with his golden claws. Shizuka could only watch as Achtung Baby got sliced and another wound was added to her collection. Suddenly the car stopped and Achtung Baby shoved it into the nearby wall. Jameson was open so Achtung Baby threw a jab at him. To Shizuka's surprise, he moved out of the way incredibly fast, counter-attacking with a quick slice to Achtung Baby's stomach.

With the car out of the way Shizuka could attack freely, Achtung Baby launched into a punch barrage, attempting to strike Jameson before he could react. Shizuka was delighted to see that one of her punches was going to connect, then Jameson dodged it, then another. He was maneuvering his body around all of Achtung Baby's punches. Shizuka gasped. Achtung Baby's speed was incredible, but somehow this Jameson person was dodging faster than her stand could punch. Another swift scratch was sent Shizuka's way, before it could connect she tried to turn invisible, when the scratch would've connected all it swiped was open air.

"He's too fast!" Shizuka thought, contemplating how she would defeat him. "How am I going to defeat someone who can just counter every one of my attacks?"

Shizuka was still invisible, slowly sneaking away from Jameson. Suddenly, she clutched her chest, grasping at her lungs. She was wheezing, she had basically been running the entire battle and was incredibly winded. Her invisibility faded as she collapsed, notifying Jameson of her location. He darted towards her readying another attack. Achtung Baby threw a punch, missing Jameson and striking the ground. The strike sent rubble and rocks into the air. Jameson looked at her with vengeance.

"You disgust me, using your powers for evil and thievery. Give up, I will not chase you any further. You will either follow me or perish right here. I will avenge my forefathers and the mermaid I worship. Even if you strike me down I will strike back with the power of a minimum wage adult!" He monologued, staring at Shizuka but not truly looking at her. He wasn't talking to her but he was talking at her.

Shizuka ignored his statement, instead Achtung Baby attempted to swing another punch at him. Obviously, he shot backward, dodging the punch with relative ease. Shizuka looked up and smiled, rocks started to rain from the sky where Jameson had evaded to. He looked down to see the spot Achtung Baby had struck. He wasn't fast enough to get away from the rubble or to evade maneuver through it. Shizuka was smirking, her seemingly irrational punch was very calculated. Jameson looked around and tensed his body up. Steam started to pour from his feet and eventually exploded from his body. Shizuka couldn't see anything until it dissipated and Jameson was hundreds of feet away. Shizuka's victory was short-lived, as again she clutched her chest, Achtung Baby vanished as she collapsed onto the ground. Her chest felt like it was hard and folding in on itself. All of her limbs were on fire and she felt her bones being crushed.

Jameson stood victoriously, he hadn't reached his goal but still defeated Shizuka. He eyed Shizuka, waiting to see if she would continue moving or if she was defeated. When her chest stopped expanding and retracting he felt satisfied. Suddenly a cool fist struck him in the face then again in the gut, sending him flying across the alleyway. An arm made of coffee busted out from one of the thermoses he still had, in an attempt to break his fall. The bronze coffee arm slapped the pavement and tensed, trying to catch his fall. It didn't work and Jameson struck the pavement face first, teeth scattering across the ground. Once he collided with the ground Shizuka s slowly sat up, she had no energy but his stand's abilities were weakening, and eventually completely disappeared. She took long deep breaths, sitting for what felt like an eternity. Where Jameson had been punched Achtung Baby revealed itself, standing valiantly. Shizuka attempted to stand and didn't feel anything, it seemed like the only injuries she had were those Jameson had given her.

"Did his coffee make my body repair itself? His stand truly is strange", she thought to herself as she approached her attacker. Once she made her way to him she flipped him over with her foot, he was still conscious but wasn't moving. "What do you want from me, who sent you?!" She shouted at him, similar to how he spoke to her.

His broken face tilted towards her, "You know why I'm here. Return the chocolate chip cookie you stole from the Starbucks, you thief!"

Shizuka blanked, recalling the events from earlier and looking at the things she received she noticed she did indeed have two cookies, only having paid for one. She had no idea how to process what he had just said. She slowly inhaled, "YOU SHOUTING IDIOT! WHY WOULDN'T YOU LEAD WITH WHY YOU WERE CHASING ME?! I NEARLY DIED, YOU NEARLY DIED, FOR A COOKIE?! IT DOESN'T EVEN COST TWO DOLLARS, YOU UTTER BUFFOON! HOW COULD SOMEONE BE SO STUPID?! I SHOULD DESTROY YOUR ENTIRE BODY WITH A PUNCH BARRAGE, WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" She had never been so furious or had shouted so loud. How could someone be so idiotic and stupid? Shizuka took out the stolen cookie and tossed it to Achtung Baby, who caught it between its fingers. It then threw it like a frisbee at Jameson, watching it crumble once it hit his body. Shizuka then took out two dollars from her wallet, dropping it on the ground.

Jameson stopped, "My bad." The color drained from his face from Shizuka's violent outburst, "I am definitely going to get fired, keep the cookie." He spoke quietly and timidly, he was no longer morally in the right or winning the fight. Shizuka stormed off, it was clear that he was of no relation to the school and was just a fool with a stand. She ripped off the bandages Jody applied, seeing her cuts had healed, all except the new ones on her shoulder.

"I need some coffee", she muttered, "Good grief."

Jameson Jameson STATUS: Fired from his job

Stand Stat's Time Baby!

Stand Name: Brass Monkey, Stand User: Jameson Jameson

Destructive Power: B Speed: A Range: D Durability: E Precision: C Potential: D

The stand is bound to droplets of coffee, the coffee can form into limbs similar to that of a monkey. When these monkeys take damage that isn't transferred to the user. Anything the stand touches has its breaks removed, inanimate objects will continue to perform their tasks until their energy is completely depleted. If the stand touches a human they will use the amount of energy they used when they were touched, even if they stop moving. While a human's brakes have been removed they will heal all previous injuries, consuming more energy. If the user pours coffee onto themselves they will be coated in the stand. The stand can evaporate, creating bursts of smoke.
