Announcement!

Lyall the Werewolf: Hello everyone. I save some good news, and sad news today. Let's get the sad out of the way first. If you hadn't guessed by the fact that it is being uploaded here, the sad news pertains to Sword Hero Who Dances in the Shadows. Well, after some careful consideration, I've decided to temporarily discontinue the story, because I'm planning to rewrite a large chunk of it.

I have a serious question for you guys, and I'd like an honest answer. What do you really think of this story? Is it really bad, or is it really good? Does it need reworking so it'll make more sense and be less repetitive? Does it need better pacing? Do you think certain events need to happen at better times to fit with Shield Hero canon? Do you think I should redo the story completely, or leave it as is? Okay, this turned out be a series of questions, but you get the idea. As for a reason for this decision and these questions... this guest reader recently left this review on chapter 14 saying that they disliked it, because in their opinion, it was disjointed, everything happened conveniently, and that there weren't meaningful character interactions and the story was messy overall. It stuck out to me, because there was nothing short of praise given, but rarely constructively criticized. Well, there were critiques, just not a whole lot compared to all of the monster or sword suggestions in the reviews. I whole heartedly appreciate the praise, but some constructive critics would be nice.

After looking back through each other, I could see some points this review had. That's what made me come to this decision.

For this rewrite, I want the story to flow better than before, where things don't just presumably happen out of convenience for Asuka and co, and hopefully, let things develop naturally, while adding more to the experience. I want it to follow the Shield Hero story more closely, and giving Asuka more time alone in Melromarc, and overall have a less frantic and nonsensical pace.

On a side note, I started losing motivation to finish chapter 15 after working on it for some time. I'm not sure why. Perhaps I'll get some vigor back after I overhaul this story. This could take a while. Like, a long while, so don't expect it to happen out of the blue. For those who enjoyed this crossover story for what it is and looked forward to each chapter, I humbly thank you for your support and understanding, and I hope you're not too upset for what I'm about to do. I think this is a necessary step to make this a better story, so your patience is much appreciated.

And now, for the good news!

Since I won't be touching Sword Hero's Dance for a while, I'll focus my attention on a new crossover idea, which I will be publishing some time soon. Hopefully, in the near future. I hope you enjoy it, since it'll keep me occupied for a while. As for what this crossover will be, let's just say it will talk a lot about reality.

I know I've said this a lot, but I hope you guys took this news well and that you'll bare with me. See you guys later.
