The force of my fall shouldn't have knocked me out, but when my vision went blank, I felt my entire mind shut off.

When I awoke, I was back in my room, still wearing my battle clothes. Glancing over at Five's bed, I see the rise and fall of his chest, he too must have been knocked unconscious. By what? I know instantly before I even finish the thought. There was only one thing that it could have possibly been.

"Andy?" Five groans, holding his head as he sits up. "What happened?"

"They got away," I muttered gruffly, shaking my head in disappointment. We had been so close, and we failed. No, I failed. I was a coward. If I hadn't been hiding, blocking the green acid then maybe I could have stopped them before they were out of my range. "But I felt him, Five. I saw his power,"

"Setrakus Ra," I barely finish my sentence before Five utters the words, the same time that a scout sticks his head in the door.

"Beloved Leader will see you now," he speaks quickly, as if he's scared of us and wants to leave as soon as possible. "Both of you," I wonder for a moment how they knew we were awake, but then shake the thought. They are always watching. I shouldn't be surprised by now.

"Ethan," Five mumbles, and the horrifying image of Ethan sears my mind. Is he even still alive?

"Our Beloved Leader will explain everything," the Mog tells us. "But I wouldn't keep him waiting if I were you, go to Central Command." Five flies out of bed, knocking stuff over with his telekinesis.

"My power is back," he sighed in relief. "The last thing I remember was falling after flying with Ethan in my arms."

Without wasting time talking, we rush out into the hall, silent on the way to the Central Command room, not wanting to keep Setrakus Ra waiting. When we burst through the doors, everyone freezes. There are several commanders and humans analyzing computer screens and news reports.

In the centre of the room, is Setrakus Ra, our Beloved Leader. He stands with a gold staff that has a black orb on its handle. Everything about him intimidates me, and I can tell he is staring at me specifically. He has to know that I'm not one of them. Does he know where I came from?

When Five bows, I do too. I don't know what else to do so I say,

"It is an honor, my Beloved Leader," Just like Ethan had instructed us to say countless times, and Five echoes. He simply stares at us. No one speaks until he does.

"Clear the room," He bellows and then suddenly it's just the three of us. He nods to the chair in the middle of the room, and to Five he says, "Take a seat." As we wander over, I stay by Five's side, standing beside him as I keep my eyes on Setrakus Ra.

I hold my tongue, its all I can do to stop myself from asking all the questions I need to ask. "Being in a seat of power suits you." He tells Five. "You look comfortable in it, and with your trusty right hand at your side," his gaze is on me once again and I feel very nervous. "They tell me you have no number."

"That's right." I nod nervously. "I only have this pendant," I take it out to show him, and instantly regret it because it draws my attention to the three he already has around his neck. One, Two and Three. He collects them like trophies.

"May I see it?" he asks, stretching out his hand. I know this is an order, not a request so I take it off and give it to him. Without it, I feel bare. That was the only thing I had that my father had given me. The only proof they ever even existed in my life. "Intriguing," he says after examining the markings. He holds it out to me and I gladly accept it back. I never want to take it off ever again.

"What's intriguing?" Five speaks for the first time, and I'm grateful that he's by my side. Setrakus Ra made me feel so small standing next to him.

"You do have a number," Setrakus Ra tells me, and I swear I hear a hint of amusement in his voice.

"I do?" I frowned.

"You are Number Ten,"
