In the end, Mama shoves them in Kagome's room together.

"Figure it out!" she shouts at them both, throwing her hands in the air.

The door slams.

For a while, neither say anything to each other. They don't even look at each other. Kagome sits near her pillow, arms crossed and staring stubbornly out the window while Inuyasha perches at the foot of the bed and keeps his eyes on the slammed door.

Inuyasha shifts uncomfortably. "So…"

Kagome sniffs but doesn't say anything

He sighs. "Listen—"

"Did you ever stop to think that maybe I'm scared?"

He's taken aback.
