Kagome groans and drags her hands down her face. "I want to forget the last few hours."
More than anything, she wants to forget standing in the convenience store, red-faced and mortified while trying to discern what to buy.
That was the worst.
"Did you get what you needed?"
Popping her head up, Kagome glowers at the sight of her mother in her doorway. "Yes."
"Don't look at me like that," Mama says, laughing. "It was the responsible thing to do."
"Responsibility is overrated."
"Oh, stop it. It was just a little shopping. Now, do you need new undergarments?"
"Mama!"
