Chloé walked into class with Sabrina. The red head was concerned for her, after all she was still being unusually quiet. Chloé set her bag down on the floor before sliding into her seat, folding her hands in front of her on the table. Sabrina eyed her friend carefully, one wrong step and Chloé would be pissed for the whole day.

"Chloé? Are you okay? You've been awfully quiet."

"I just don't have anything to say. Is there something wrong with that?"

"No! No! Not at all! Sorry!"

It was true. On one of their previous Frates, Chloé had complained about not knowing how to become better. So, Luka had suggested that if she didn't have anything nice to say then don't speak at all. He told her it was a good way to really reevaluate the way you speak to people. And once you get that down, start looking for nice things to say. She had thought it was a dumb idea then, but now she was really coming to terms with how much happier and nicer people seemed to be around her. Not to mention that nobody in her class had been akumatized in awhile.

"Yeah, he's been acting kind of off."

Chloé's interest peaked at that. Juleka, Rose and Alix were talking in the back row. She could hear their conversation loud and clear, now that she was paying attention.

"He's been coming home late on some days and he's been playing this one song over and over again. Every time I ask him where he's been, he says he was out with a friend. And it's always a 'she'," Juleka told her friends. Chloé smirked, they were talking about her husband. It was kind of fun to hear about him when they weren't together, knowing that she had seen him just yesterday and no one knew.

"Your brother totally has a girlfriend!"

Chloé felt her heart drop. Why hadn't he told her? They had promised not to keep anything from each other. Chloé began fidgeting with the silver ring on her finger.

"He says they're not dating. And you know my brother, he doesn't lie. But still, he hangs out with her once a week, she buys him all sorts of gifts that I pretend I don't see, but it's the song! That's all he plays anymore! He's been like composing it for weeks now."

"Is it like a lovey song," Rose asked dreamily.

"No it kind of sounds like..."

And then she hummed it. She hummed Chloé's song. The blonde had permanently engrained the sound of that music into her head, she knew it anywhere. Luka played her song all the time, even when she wasn't around? She could feel the happiness rising up in her chest. Wait...Juleka thought they were dating?! Chloé had to resist the urge to gag, ignoring the fact that she and Luka were literally married.

"Chloé, where'd you get that ring from?"

Her whole world froze for a second. How had Sabrina noticed?! Chloé looked down at the ring in question, her fingers were wrapped around it. She had been fidgeting with it! Of course Sabrina noticed!

"Um..."

"Yeah where did you get that ring from, Chloé," Lila asked loudly, bringing attention to her. All of the class looked. That little brat probably noticed how uncomfortable Chloé became at the mentioning of it. The blonde shot an evil looking gaze at Lila before looking at all of her classmates with her eyes trained on her.

"It's just a ring!"

"I don't know, Chloé. It kind of looks like a promise ring," Lila pressed. "Are you in a secret relationship? Someone bad that we shouldn't know about?"

Dude...this girl. She really was just trying to die today wasn't she? The class began muttering at Lila's words.

"Um, first of all it's a wedding ring," Chloé slipped before she could stop herself. She smacked her hand over her mouth as soon as the words came out of her mouth.

"A wedding ring? Aren't you a little young?!"

"No," Chloé snapped quickly. "It was my mom's!"

The class went silent, all looking confused. Chloé's mom was definitely alive.

"Um...my dad bought her a new one so she gave the old one to me," Chloé explained confidently. Her classmates all nodded in understanding, they had accepted her lie. Chloé one - Lila zero.

Just as Mlle. Bustier walked in, Chloé subtly shot Lila the middle finger behind her back.

Suffice it to say, Lila did not appreciate being middle fingered or out lied. She could tell that Chloé was not telling the truth. You can't bullshit a bullshitter. There were two ways to get Chloé to tell the truth. She could always gain her trust and then ask her in a private and comfortable setting...

Or! She could start a bunch of untrue and downright nasty rumors until Chloé had to tell the truth.

Now that was a plan Lila could get behind!

Luka was on his way out of the school for lunch when he was dragged into a random classroom. He tripped slightly and landed awkwardly, trying his best to remain grounded.

"I'm so sorry! I was just trying to get you in here!"

"Chloé?"

The blonde had one hand over her mouth, which she removed to cross her arms.

"Uh, duh! I hope no one else is dragging you into empty classrooms. As your wife I might have something to say about that!"

Luka couldn't help the laugh that emerged from his mouth. He knew she was joking but it was still funny to see Chloé Bourgeois get jealous over something as simple as a marriage.

"No, I promise, you're the only one dragging me into empty classrooms. So what's up?"

Chloé shuffled awkwardly for a moment.

"You won the bet."

Luka's eyes went wide.

"Did someone find out about the wedding?!"

"No," Chloé assured. "But stupid Sabrina had to go pointing out the ring in front of my whole class! Lila almost busted us too! She was like right on the money with it. But I convinced them it was my mom's."

"Well, that's a relief. Juleka has been on me about where I've been all these weeks."

"Yeah, I know," Chloé told him, crossing her arms. He looked up at her with a raised eyebrow.

"You know?"

"She's been talking about you to her friends. Now that I speak much less I can actually hear them. Do you really play my song all the time?"

Luka's face went red and he moved his eyes to the floor.

"What can I say, it's a really pretty song."

"Sure. Anyway, you win the bet. The next Frate is yours anyway so you'll also get the one after too."

Luka nodded as he seemed to be thinking.

"I need to make a call real quick."

He pulled out his phone, dialed a number and then put his phone up to his ear.

"Hey, Jules! What are you doing for lunch today?"

Was he seriously making lunch plans in the room with her? He couldn't even finish their conversation? Chloé rolled her eyes but a small smile stayed plastered on her face.

"You're going to Marinette's...No that's fine, I was just curious! Okay...thanks...love you too! Bye!" He hung up and then stuffed his phone in his pocket. "Well that settles it. I use one of my Frates. You're coming to my home and having lunch with me."

"The boat," Chloé asked. She hadn't been before. Luka nodded and headed towards the door. "Alright let me tell Sabrina."

"See you outside in five?"

"Yup, see you!"

"You're kidding right? I could just call my driver."

"Eh, that would take too long. And it's much less fun. Just hop on."

Chloé scoffed and rolled her eyes before sighing and climbing onto the back of Luka's bike. He laughed wickedly at her before speeding off.

"You better hope that no one sees me on this thing," Chloé retorted.

"Oh don't worry so much, your royal highness. You'll be off in no time. No one would even think that the great Chloé Bourgeois was on a bicycle."

"Couffaine," she corrected. He chuckled.

"You should be thankful I'm letting you cramp my style."

"I'm cramping your style?! Excuse me but I'm not the one who bikes everywhere! Who even rides a bike anyway," Chloé shot back as Luka took a sharp turn.

"I'm saving up for a motorcycle. I'm nearly there too. Then your eyes won't be offended by my monstrosity," Luka teased. He could feel Chloé tighten her grip around his waist, pulling herself a little closer as he picked up speed. For some reason, it was all he could focus on. He could feel the warmth radiating from her arms and he loved it. He never imagined himself being this physically close to Chloé Bourgeois before. He doubted anyone did. But he was so proud of how far she had come in the last few months. She had worked so hard to improve and it was paying off. He admired her for that; for being able to change and grow and become better as a person. It was something he was still learning how to do. He hoped some of her resolve would rub off on him.

Chloé had to admit that being on the back of the bike did feel kind of nice. It was pleasant to feel the wind on her face even if she was sure her entire reputation would go down the toilet if anyone saw her. She backtracked for a second...or backpedaled.

But seriously, she was supposed to be getting better, but here she was being worried about her reputation while Luka was busting his ass off to be able to afford anything other than a bike. She remembered what he had said about saying nice things. She spent a lot of time teasing Luka, and even if she meant them playfully, was it possible for him to get the wrong idea? They were...friends now. And friends treated each other nicely.

They finally pulled to a stop in front of Luka's boat and got off the bike. Luka took his helmet off and propped it up on the bike before leading Chloé onto the boat. They went straight to the kitchen; Luka began shuffling around, getting ingredients and pans out ready to make something. He stopped when he noticed how quiet Chloé was. She was standing by the entrance to the kitchen, a frown on her face.

"You can sit at the island if you'd like," Luka told her before turning the stove on. She moved to a stool slowly. She sat and crossed her hands in front of her. Luka sighed, putting the pan in his hand down and making his way over to her. "Okay, what's up?"

"What?" Chloé looked bewildered, like she was genuinely shocked he would notice when something was definitely wrong.

"Look, Chloé, you're as easy to read as a book. And right now your song is playing super slow and sad. What's wrong?"

She bit her lip and began fidgeting with her wedding ring. He noticed that she did that when something was bothering her. It had only happened a few times but it was really obvious.

"You can tell me," Luka assured her. He rested his left hand on hers, letting the wedding rings touch. "We don't keep things from each other. Partners, remember?" She hesitated some more. He rolled his eyes playfully before adding, "Don't make me invoke my husband privileges."

Chloé sighed with a soft smile before becoming serious again.

"Am I too mean to you?"

"What? No!" Luka wondered where she was getting this from. He also reminded himself to mark this day on the calendar cause Chloé Bourgeois just asked someone if she was too mean to them. "Why would you think that?"

"Well, I'm always making fun of you and I don't mean it but maybe you think I do? And I don't know why I actually care what you think about me, cause I usually don't but for some reason I do and I don't want you to be mad at me."

"Okay, deep breaths. Don't talk yourself to death, Chlo. And of course I'm not mad at you. Trust me, I throw it right back at you. Do you get mad when I tease you?" She shook her head. "Well then I won't get mad when you tease me! And I promise if you do say something that makes me upset, I'll tell you. Okay?"

She nodded.

"Okay."

"Good." Luka smiled and then moved back to the stove. He already missed the feeling of her hand, a thought that made him nearly stop dead in his tracks. Miss the feeling of her hand? Why wasn't this the first time he had a thought like that? Why was he only know just realizing he thought things like that? He knew he missed Chloé when she was away, to the point where he was constantly playing her song on anything instrument he could get his hands on. He had entertained the idea of feeling before but always dismissed them. But now, looking at her feeling so upset about the possibility of hurting him, a place that Chloé hadn't been even two weeks ago, he let those thoughts be entertained just a little while longer.

"I hope you're hungry. I'm not good with portion sizes."

Chloé laughed.

"What, you can't do basic math?"

"There's my wife."
